Back when dinosaurs ruled the Earth, I got started with writing online on the Spore forums. Man, those were the days. We're talking like 12 years ago 2010-ish!

I've been here on and off for almost as long, and have GM'd a bunch of different things to varying success.

Word of my splendor:

@Cyclone I agree with you regarding CKII, but I don't think the strategic element is really its focus: there's a great amount of emphasis on the roleplay aspect. You know, keeping those damn dukes and whatnots in line, not keeping armies raised forever. Or if you start off as a duke or lower tier ruler, working out how to usurp the damn throne through a delicate web of marriages, assassinations and war

Oh you're completely right. The RP element is fun in a different sort of way, but after playing CK2 for a few months it just lacks the luster that it once had to me. I've had many shenanigans and seen much of the hilarious stuff.

EU's strategic depth gives it more replayability for me.

So just curious.. How is my Profile anyway.. Does it need to be worked on or is it good ?.
Just wondering
I may or may not have spent about 4 hours watching Harry potter and Deadthly Hollows on Tv
Also I have a idea what my first post will be :P

Well, the first thing that needs to be looked at is your Domain(Portfolio). The OP explains that so suffice to say that simply putting 'nightmares' down isn't enough. If you're lacking ideas, Nightmares(Fear) or something similar would be a good place to start.

I noticed numerous grammar issues in the CS as well. While a few aren't a big deal, when there's a bunch it gets distracting. Some people here on the OoC were talking about a website called Grammarly that will point out mistakes, so if you want you could try copying and pasting your sheet onto it to spot any problems.

I don't mean to be pretentious (and certainly not insulting) but I'll point out that the expectation here is that the writing will be of a Mid/High Casual level. Just look at some of the posts on the IC and OOC, and make sure you're not biting off more than you can chew.
@Cyclone I can wait another day if you'd like. That would also give our two new players time to join.

Sure, I think I'll be able to post then.

The last two weeks have been crazy; don't worry guys, soon I should be able to be more active and respond faster in the IC.
@AzazelSlayer

There seems to be so,e unspoken agreement amongst Kho and Rtron that I'm the guy who handles newcomers. So...hi!

As others have already said, there was Julkolfyr who had the shadows/darkness theme but the guy who RP'd Julkolfyr is gone and IC his character is being imprisoned by Vestec, the demented our beloved god of chaos.

So the spot is indeed open for you! If you've already more or less ironed out a character concept you can post a sheet here in the OOC for us to talk about, but otherwise we can help you figure something out.

Thinking about how your character will come into existence is a good place to start.
Also, @Cyclone. Which reaction will Zeph have to him being set free after his sentence ends?

What makes you think that Zeph's sentence will simply come to its end? DUN DUN DUNN /end of foreshadowing
Ah, all this talk of various games brings out the nostaligia.

I'm always late to jump on bangwagons @Vec, since I only started League a few months ago if you remember that from the OOC. But anyways what makes you say the game is dead? I'm aware that it had more players at one point, but there's still a sizeable base, new champions are coming out, and the meta is probably in a good place since most champions seem viable (From what I've heard, that definitely wasn't the case in past seasons).

@Kho We do have similar taste, believe it or not! My feelings on Total War and Crusader Kings are the same, though until CK3 co,es out (if it ever does) I'm playing mostly EU4. Though thematically I love CK, it just lacks the sheer strategic depth that EU4 has and thus I no longer enjoy the gameplay very much.

I really like RuneScape's storyline. It was my first MMORPG and every year or two I play it again for a phase of a few months to check out new content. I try to make all of my characters with a myriad of influences, but Lucien from RuneScape and the fire demon from Bound by Flame (a great game btw) were probably the two biggest influences for Ialu.

I used to like WoW for the gameplay and have played it since mid Burning Crusade, but that game peaked for me with Wrath of the Lich King. I'm debating whether I even care enough to try Legion when it's released.

Best standalone RPG is still probably Zelda. Ocarina of Time was the first game I really got into, and Wind Waker is just the best thing ever (though I seem alone in my adoration of that game's sailing and exploration theme).
Chugo isnt going to be at the meeting?

Most likely not. The other day I was hoping to get a post out in time but couldn't. I probably won't get the chance since I too won't be free until around Wednesday

I'm interested in joining, can you slot me in? I haven't play by posted in probably at least 3 or 4 years and I wanna give it another shot. Additionally, if I do get into the rp, there's a chance I might kill off my character early if I find play by posting isn't my thing.

Sure, nothing wrong with trying this out and I'm glad that you're willing to go for closure should you decide you don't like it. Usually people that decide to quit simply disappear and leave us to fill in the resulting plot holes :/

But back to your joining, did you have a character concept in mind? At this point newcomers can either be demigods or just mundane beings.

I'd also strongly recommend you first try to read through the IC or at least just the summaries, as daunting a task as that may be
Back om the topic of the IC, I've had a vague notion of what to post but procrastinated it a bit too long.

I'll see if I can come up with a short post early tomorrow, because I'll be travelling more over the next few days and don't know when else I might get the time
@Kho

Had you not already seen all the endings yet? ;p

By the way, try Death Song. IMO it's the guy's best and far outclasses both Eternal and Necromancer in quality of writing if perhaps not in size or fun as a game.
I will confess to having recently resorted to reading in full only the IC posts of those that were immediately pertinent to the plot developments that I had going and then skimming over the rest or just reading the summaries.

So I started at around page 10 and have been rereading the IC. Picking up a bunch of things I had originally missed, finally getting around to reading some of the posts that I had only read summaries for, and overall the story is starting to make a lot more sense to me now.

I'd recommend that anybody else who's confused by all these newish characters (or who just have time to spare) do this!

Anyways, thanks @Double Capybara for the patience regarding khookies. Most of the Chroma and Makeda posts were among those that I had skimmed, but now that I've gone back I'll look to analyze them and bake khookies in the nesr future

And to be clear @Rtron, I was totslly serious in that PM where I said I'll make the creation sheets I owe if you give Ventus his khookies ;p
