no he is using a pawn he controls with his curse tattoo to cut off a portion of his counscious and is inhabiting his pawn. I put it in because it isn't powerful at all. he has zero power, you could kill the thrall with a snap of your fingers basically. it is suppose to be used at a communication type thing. I added that because I wanted to get the intro to phantoms character to everyone out of the way. so its happening at the same time. Phantom is actually talking to Donovan in his real body but with his power limited by using his thrall, and the power damper thing from zen, phantom couldn't really kill anyone.

Phantom watched Donovan with no fascination.

How could you think you could beat Kyle if you don't even care if you live or die? Most warriors don't, but the difference is they don't want to die, and when they do something that endangers them, they bet their life not throw it away."
Phantom flexed his right hand, twitching it, trying to see if he could resist the power damper effect on him. He didn't need his powers to kill everyone here but he wouldn't get away injury free. By his estimate his plan would be set back by a year if he killed the mentors here. A year was unacceptable even with his amazing healing factor.
"Also whats with this bullshit meditation? You don't need to calm the fire in your heart, you need to control it while fanning it, make it grow bigger and stronger. You have some power I admit, but at your level Kyle cant ereally consider you a rival."
Phantom cracked his knuckles.
"Also yea speaking of fanning the flames and meditation, why are you even here? what purpose does this place really serve? Are you training? or hiding?"

and Kieran was in the army as well, so they would have something in common. although if she tried to run up and hug Kieran that would be a funny interaction
