The following day 1400 hours

Kyle walked through the entrance gate into Obsidian, and was saluted by his front entrance guards. He walked into Obsidian and straight to the medical room. He knocked and waited a few seconds before Mabel opened the door.

"Oh its you. Well......come in I guess."

Kyle chuckled and walked in. He saw that the room that was suppose to for healing was a mess, papers everywhere, vials in tube racks, and such much more. Kyle walked over to the main desk and tried to touch a few things, but Mabel quickly swatted his hand away.

"Moron dont touch those. How are you our leader again? Doesnt matter. Whetevr look at this."

Mabel handed Kyle a few papers to look at.

"Ive almost cracked it."

Kyle looked through the papers and frowned."Not good enough Mabel. If I cant beat Hunter, this will be our trump card, its perfection is a must."

Ranna got out of bed and got sick. She made herself get up and check on Zach. When she turned the key in the lock she opened the door to see Zach and Niesha cuddled up together. She had brought another bottle of whiskey and new bandages and medicine that she had gotten from Ailsa. She came in and quietly started to change his bandage. She saw his eyes flutter open and he looked at Niesha and smiled.

He spoke softly so as not to wake her. "Ranna how long did it take you to realize you loved Kyle." Ranna smiled. "About five minutes. You having something like that happening?" Zach nodded. "Yeah. I think so. It's kinda scary but its a good scary." Ranna leaned over and kissed his cheek. "Don't forget to let her know." Ranna left and locked the door behind her.

Niesha stirred at the sound of the door closing, wriggling slightly closer to Zach. On a normal day, she would have already been up, and in the library. Yet the last few days hadn't been normal. For the first time in what seemed forever, she felt rested. She sighed softly, letting her eyes open, looking up at Zach with a smile. "hey"

Zach looked down at Niesha and kissed her head. "Did you sleep well?"

Niesha nodded, having already decided she didn't want to sleep without him again. She wondered what he'd think of that, but wasn't brave enough to ask. "Yeah. Hows your shoulder?" She asked, shifting slightly so she could see the bandaged wound.

"Ranna was just here and it's looking pretty good." Zach had been thinking of something since he spoke with Ranna a few moments ago and he was positive that Niesha would think he was crazy.

"Can I tell you something absolutely crazy?"

Niesha nodded, "I'd like to think you could tell me anything" She smiled, "But..." He was just there, and so close...she found that she couldn't resist, and she kissed him softly.

Zach looked her in the eye. "I'm not joking when I say this. I fell for you the first time I saw you and I think we should get married." He heard himself and he knew how crazy fast it sounded. He kissed her back. "

Niesha could feel her heart speed up, whether from what he'd said, panic, or something else, she wasn't entirely too sure. She drew in a breath, letting herself calm, but still she felt her heart beat strongly. Finally, she managed to speak, "I know. You caught me when I fell" She smiled slightly at the memory of the other day, "I-I love you too"'

Zach grinned. "So can I take that as a yes?" He said kissing her more deeply.

Niesha returned the kiss, and nodded, finding that she couldn't trust her voice.

Zach embraced her and looked her in the eye. "So before we fight hunter or after?

Niesha found she didn't need to think that through. What if something happened in that fight? "Before"

"That's my girl. I can talk to the holy man and we could have a small ceremony today if you'd like." Zach started to get up being mindful of his shoulder. "All I need is you and food." He grinned at her. "I'll go meet him do you want to go with me and we'll get some food too?"

today? that seemed oddly quick, but...Niesha knew that in an odd way it wasn't. She felt safe with Zach. Happy. Something she hadn't felt for a long time. And the lack of bad dreams...She hugged Zack, not wanting to let him go, but letting him go free as he started to rise. "I'd love to go with you, but there's a bit more to do then just that, isn't there?" She didn't really have anything that formal...not that she would think Zack would care. She could probably walk in what she had on...but...she wanted it. "I have no idea what I am doing with this sort of thing" she said, as she sat there watchcing him. "maybe...maybe we could find Ranna? Do you think that would be okay?"

She wanted to go with him. She decided that it didn't matter what it turned out to be. She would be happy, more then, just looking up, and knowing Zach was there. And food sounded good..."We'll go together"

Ranna walked out of the office and she saw Zach and Niesha. "Hey, what are you doing up and running around?"

Zach said, "My fiance and I are going to go eat and then arrange getting married this afternoon." He grinned, happier than she had ever thought he had.

Ranna blinked and burst into a joyful laugh and she hugged him carefully and she hugged Niesha tightly. "I finally get a sister! I am so excited for you! After you eat we'll go talk to the ladies about a dress. I'll come with you. I'm starving!"

Zach squeezed Niesha's hand gently and smiled at her.

Niesha returned Ranna's hug, although she wasn't particularly sure how good a sister she'd make, or indeed wife for that matter. She had nothing to base any of that on. All she knew of the first years of her life came in dreams. She was glad Ranna seemed willing to help her, and she nodded, "That would be good, because I have no idea what I am doing"

She looked up and returned Zach's smile. Maybe she didn't need to know.

Kyle left Mabel's doctors office not as pleased as he wanted to be but somewhat. They had a week until the upcoming battle and they might not be enough. Having a family friend take a little damage isnt going to cut it this time. Kyle walked over to their new crop fields and examined them. He needed to figure out a way to keep their food safe when people attacked, ir else everytime they were attacked they would lose too many precious resources. He would have to take it up with Tokala. He walked around Obsidian, checking on resident Tribesmen and checking on their buildings.

Grant looked at Sasha questioningly, and for a moment he knew not what to do. He looked at Vladimir and spoke.

"She is stubborn, no?"

Grant looked back at Sasha.

"If I could you I would. But it is not my story to tell. I believe you are also one who enjoys adventures of the litterary nature as much as I. So would you like to read a book chapter by chapter, combing over the details? Or would you rather skip to the end of the chapter then read it? If I was to tell you everything right here, It would only confuse you and more than likely end with a mistunderstanding. But I am more than happy to take you to him. I am not your enemy."

Grant pocketed his dead man bloods, then eyed the situation. He could see the hybrid keeping himself open for battle, while at the same time trying to give off a normal appearance. He would be ready to fight. Sasha was filled with a fire that if not controlled would spread. She had a hunger in her eyes, and with her allies Grant imagined she could get whatever she wanted. He had to hope he played his cards right and that her sense of discovery and journalism would over come any sudden impulses that she recieved emotionally. Grant held his hands up slightly.

"The only thing I desire is to help my master take down Dracula, and for me to be with my soul mate."

Grant did not flinch, he did not breathe, he did not move. This suprised him, knowing the blood was in his pocket and his line of questioning was odd. Most people would not react this way. Something about him was off to him. Nothing about he seemed.......normal. Grant softly took in a deep breath. His senses may not be legendary, but they were far superb to the average vampire. His sense of smell in particular were most......specific. Grant could smell every ounce of blood in the building. Every cockroach, every chemical, nothing could escape his nose. Grant came to the smells from the room. To him the man who brought him here smelled more or less average. Sasha smelled to him of......he wasn't sure. An average smell but not an average smell. He would need to make sure he never turned his back to her. And she also carried a bit of........no that was impossible. He looked at Sasha and eyed her stomach for a millisecond, then turned his attention to Vladimir. He came to his stomach and every muscle in his hand flexed at the same time. He smelled almost like Piper, except for the fact he wasn't.....as sweet smelling. Nothing about him drew him to him.

"Ah I see."

Grant took out of syringe of dead mans blood and offered to his Vladimir.

"you might as well take this. Dead mans blood does not work against hybrids. I discovered this when I was given the task of eliminating my soul mate from Dracula. Thankfully I was able to avoid the outcome he favored. He truly hates hybrids though. You and I will talk about that at a later date though. As to your weaknesses...."

Grant took a millisecond to look him over.

[colors=004b80]"You favor your dominant hand too much. While your senses seem to be extraordinary and you are a hybrid your weakness if you more than anything. Normal werewolf/vampire weapons won't work against you, so if you were to fall it would be to predictability. The marks on your hands are a dead give away, or rather the marks and the marks that don't exist on your hands give it away. [/color]

Grant took in another breath.

"your blood is very rich. And has a certain......aroma......ha your a what's it called.....a vanhelsing aren't you? I'm not sure if I'm pronouncing that correctly. It's been awhile since I've tangled with your kind."

Grant looked around

"as to the rooms weaknesses I could go on forever."

Grant smiled ever so slightly as the elder vampire threw his little fit. He understood that anyone who once knew him or was old enough to hear of him from someone who knew him had this reaction, generally speaking. When he grabbed him, Grant pocketed his hand around the syringe of dead mans blood, and nearly used it but held back at the last second. This was not the time. Grant took a second while the vampire who held him and calmed himself internally. Grant relaxed his muscles, and opened his mind and all his senses. Holding him was acceptable, but if the vampire made any sort of extra actions were taken, if he was actually threatened in any way shape or form he would not hesitate but debilitate him.

"While I do understand the anger you are feeling, the reaction appropriate it would do you well to release me if you please. Attempting to free me of this immortal coil is a nice offer, but the dilema you face is I do not fear death."

Grant looked over at Sasha.

"My dear, I solemly swear I am full of nothing but the most honest intentions. I do not have any information on Dracula written down, but if you wanted I have an idea about that. Now or later does not matter. I believe and interview with me, about Dracula would allow me to answer any questions. As to how I obtained your number, Lets just say my first spawned gave it to me, with nothing but the most honest intentions as well."

Grant eyed the room, detecting every weakness this room contained. He turned back to Vladimir.

"My good man, if you were trying to protect this women, I believe you will surely fail from an assassins view point. You may be strong and fast, and may kill the assassin, but I see for a fact any assassin would be able to complete their objective. Why not move Miss Sasha? If you would permit it There is a manor not too far from here that contains the necessary security. Sort of my base of operations."

i believe I am looking forward to a fight between james and darius or james and the thief. james and darius because james is goo goo gah gah over elyra, and darius apparently killed her brother years ago and they will get into it making james fight for elyra. And if darius got a chance to fight the thief that would be cool. Although I have to be honest since i wrote darius as a badass assassin, with awesome assassin skills i didnt wanna make him op so i didnt give him any special or enchanted weapons or items. i feel like tht would be important
i have to work late tonight, thought i wasnt but its looking like will. I be off off 10 pm my time.
@Gareth The Thief is someone which can kill any of our characters without thinking about it much. So don't worry. We won't be fighting him just yet.

@dabombjk Are you around ?

im around for 20 minutes
@dabombjk Yeah sure. I'm in. But...scouting what ? We arrive at Milas take that caravan , have some problems on the way , arrive in the field and the real quest starts but will not end there. I planned something big , later on.

Goodbye

Alexandra got her morning bath and then she was dressed for an early walk with her future husband. She learned that he was a bit of a pompous ass on their walk around the gardens. He tried to kiss her and she dodged his advances and reached for a flower and stuck it in front of her face and asked him if he liked daisies. She could see Conrad just a little ways off scanning the area and watching them.

The morning after, after returning to his and dressing himself, Conrad had moments of doubt. He had not expected his day to go the way it did, and for such pleasures to be found at night. He wrestled withhimself mentally, for he knew what he did was wrong. She may be his best friend but this is exactly what Sir James had warned him about. Conrad quickly started his morning routine. When Her Majesty had made it known that she wished to walk the gardens alone this morning, it was expected that he would accompany her. Nothing seemed different,

He had not expected her fiance to join them. Because of this he stayed back slightly, keeping more of a watchful eye on them than anything else. He walked along the pond in the garden.

Alexandra was not impressed with this man. He was obscenely greedy and he kept trying to touch her. At one point he tried to maul her behind a tree. She sidestepped him at every chance. He became angry at one point "You will not run from me! If I want to have you here and now I will!" Alexandra yelled in fear as he went to strike her. He got one hit in across the face and he raised his hand again.

Conrad appeared behind Her Majesties fiance, grabbed his wrist from behind him, and yanked it back. His arm was now broken, being that it had spun completley around in a circle. Conrad swept his legs, and the fiance fell to the ground. Conrad then walked over to her majesty and checked her over.

"The slap he gave you will make a slight bruise, but doesnt look serious. We can cover it. Are you ok?"

Alexandra got up and nodded, her face felt hot from the force of the slap. She was embarrassed that he had seen it. All she wanted to do was have him hold her and yet servants had ventured into the garden amid the screams of her fiance. She let him help her inside while the servants managed to get guards to help the broken lord.

Alexandra demanded her mother's presence in her room. Once her mother saw her face she was taken aback and looked at Alexandra. "What happened and what did Conrad do to him for that slap?"

"I believe there was at least one broken arm and possibly a broken leg." Her mother's expression was one of exhaustion. If Alexandra's face were not in pain she would have laughed at her.

"As I have looked in the books and there is no law that states that I must marry. I have chosen that I will either choose my own husband or I will not have one."

Her mother looked at her horrified. "You have to have an heir!" Alexandra shrugged. "If you give me no choice in the matter I'll fight you and I'll win."

Her mother stared at her for a moment and she seemed to figure out something very important. "I am going to send Conrad to be a guard at the prisons. I'll find you a new bodyguard. He is too extreme lately I think."

Alexandra could have answered differently had her emotions not been on the surface but she said. "If you do that I'll give up the crown entirely."

Her mother's eyes closed. "I suspected as much. Have you lain with him?" Alexandra glared at her mother. "I'll not answer such a horrible accusation such as that.... Of course I haven't! He is my best friend and I'll not let you send him away. I AM the queen and YOU can NOT override me in this."

"Alexandra, there will be another match made and this one had better stick or you will lose Conrad for good." Her mother walked out and slammed the door shut. Alexandra locked it and lay on her bed in tears.

Sir James had immediatley pull Conrad aside once the Lord had been taken away.

"What in the seven hells were you thinking you stupid-," Sir James said as he hit Conrad on the head everytime he said stupid, "Stupid, Stupid boy!"

Conrad recovered from Sir James whippins and stood up straight.

"I was thinking how some stupid Lord was hurting the Queen of our land, and that as her bodygaurd i needed to defend her."

Sir James whacked Conrad on the head again.

"You moron! That was a very wealthy Lord, and he could have helped us greatly! He will now break off any arrangement we had, and more than likely call for your execution! I mean did you have to basically rip off his arm!"

Conrad shrugged. "Not my fault he is a stupid Noble twat that cant be measured even by shit."

Sir James gave Conrad a look, and sighed.

"Conrad........"

Conrad scoffed and walked past Sir James. He is an adult he did not need this. He did his job and duty. Conrad walked through the castle, and asked for the location of the Queen. He was told by a servant. When he tried to go to her room, he was stopped by guards. It was explained to him that his services were no longer needed for the rest of the day, and that was to go to his room. Conrad slightly huffed, then thought of a plan. He walked away, towards the entrance to one of the passage ways hidden to most people. He entered it and used it to gain access to Alexandras room.

When the passageway opened and he entered her room Alexandra ran to him and wrapped her arms around him as if her life depended on it. She wiped her eyes and told him what happened.

"My mother threatened to take you away permanently from me. She mentioned prison guards and I'd never see you again. She figured out that we love each other but I denied a physical relationship. She said the next match must stick or I'll never see you again. What do we do?"

Alexandra had to pull it together. She was the one who had changed their relationship not him. She had to take that responsibility.

"I threatened to give up my crown."

Conrad sighed and cupped her cheek with his hand. She was so beautiful......and he was no one.

"I plan on leaving tonight."

"NO! You can't leave me you promised we'd be together forever."

Conrad closed his eyes, leaned in, and kissed her on the lips. After a few seconds he broke it off.

"And we will be......but right now you need a man who is proper and of the right status. I am still nothing but an orphan. For us to be together.....it is impossible right now."

Alexandra looked at him through tears. "And when can we be together and how will I find you? What happens if you find someone else? I've not been without you since I was 5. How am I supposed to do this without you?"

"How do you think I will live without you? You have been my whole world since I was seven! I have thought of nothing else but you, worked for nothing else besides you, you have been my everything. We were paired as children and we have been together in heart mind and soul."

Conrad blinked back a tear.

"You don't have nothing, You have been paid in an account since day one. I had it put back for you." She went to her desk and wrote something down for him and pulled something out of a drawer. She brought him a gold chain to wear. She tucked it underneath his shirt. And she put a paper with his account information and his balance as of last week. It was quite a large sum of money. And she handed him an envelope with the deed to some land.

Conrad shook his head.

"There is no way any lord would accept that I, a well known orphan, came across a deed to land and a vast sum of wealth honestly. I would be sacked and killed. Your mother would most certainly send Sir James to hunt me down. I promise you, more than likeley she is making plans for something of a similar nature now. Your mother.....will stop at nothing to create the perfect kingdom. Even if she isnt the queen."

"Who do you think gve me the deed to give to you? She tried to get me to let you go last year. Please take it. It's part of your payment for service to the kingdom."

"Please write me and let me know how you are doing? I couldn't bare it if something happened to you. I'll let you know when we can be together....if you still want me by then."

Conrad kissed Alexandra again, and pocketed the items she held for him.

"I swear I will want only you, and will have only you. I will do what I can to raise my status, and I hope you can do what you can to change things in the kingdom for the better. I want nothing else than for us to be together."

Conrad gave Alexandria a meaningful look, and rushed out of the room into the secret passage ways, just as a guard was about to enter.

The guard entered the room and Alexandra threw a golden statue at him hitting him and making him duck out and run. Her mother entered just a few moments later and ducked as she heard her daughter screaming and she called a doctor in to give her something to help her sleep. Her mother was torn over her daughter's heartbreak. Such was the duty of a queen.
