Anything can happen! Team Skull meet up or Tapu meet up sounds more realistic though right off the bat! xD

And your length is fine! That's what mine would probably be too! Introduction ones are usually longer, that's how I see it!
@Crimson Flame

Lorenzo Amoré, now he's going to bring something to the team I can see that already. Go ahead into the Character Tab!

@Foxymew

Sweet, Valerie is done! I like the overall simplicity to it! You two can move on into the Character Tab as well!
@Karkinos

Go for it! And understandable on trying to find how your character really is. I'm using Io in another Pokemon RP currently too to see how different he can be when interacting with others and also trying to see which one is the real him that fits his description better.
Is gender even-ness a thing cuz I was gonna make a lady and that might make it 3:1 and I dunno if tht's a thing you want

Nah the gender ratio isn't a problem for me, unless it is for you all. inb4IOharem

Oof, I definitely have a character idea for this but look at all this interest already!

Honestly, we'll have to see how well my character will mesh in such a modest group. I'll take the chance anyway since I've already sunk the hours in but it'll really depend on who applies overall. Honestly, I think she could fit into the dynamics pretty easily if at least one of the "professors" I reference whom were paid to keep an eye on her are involved with or a part of the main group.

wow that transparency did not come out as i hoped it would

I can age her up a little bit depending on your interpretation of the world, GM, but I do want to keep her pretty young (it's not because I'm creepy, it's just how I imagine her). My personal head-canon is that the Unova region distributes Trainer's licenses to Trainer's School graduates—courses which last up to six months and can be taken starting at a pretty age—starting at age 12.

I apologize if Meowstic seems like a bit of an extreme choice for a beginner, no matter how much that beginner studied, but I did try my best to justify the decision, it is her only Pokemon so far, and, honestly, I just really want to use the title "Of Meowstic and Memories" at some point and it would devastate me if I lost access to that chance.

Also please correct Portia's weight if it's too unrealistic! There's so much research I can do on the ideal weight for a 4' 9" girl in one sitting before I begin suffering serial boredom... (It's a pedantic detail but a detail none the less.)

Wow she's an interesting character, Portia. But as for fitting her into the group, I'm pretty sure we can find a way to connect her to Io as he is an assistant researcher to both Professor Kukui and Professor Oak in Alola. I'm pretty sure we can also make a connection to her mother.

With that said, welcome to the team Portia.

NOTE FOR EVERYONE ELSE:

I know I said I was only looking for a few people (3 others), I'm extending that offer now as I didn't expect so much people to be interested in joining me. So right now the role-play is still open so keep on applying!
@Denny

right, here she is. Hope she's acceptable~

Question, though. Are we keeping up with levels and such? If not, how will evolution work? Just whatever makes sense as long as we don't go overboard? Same with moves, in that case? I'm starting off with Salandit around 15-20.

Yeah levels are kind of like how I see in the anime. Your Pokemon's known moves and ability to level up depend on the relationship with the trainer and yeah also on level. I guess an example would be if Io caught a Magikarp and evolved it right away. It could evolve right away from two reasons that I guess I deem realistic. The two are:

The magikarp was being stressed out to the max and it was getting angry, flipping and splashing about that it evolved (uncontrollably, mind you). The second being that after traveling with Io for sometime the two develop a friendship/bond strong enough that the magikarp wants to prove to his trainer that he can do so much more.

Those are just two examples that I came up with, but I'm sure there are plenty more creative ones you all can come up with.

As for Lucille, I told myself I'd wait for most if not all the character applications to be posted before picking people up, but I think she would make an interesting traveling companion for whoever else is going to be involved... So welcome aboard!
It had only been a week since his return to Alola. Ioane had spent the past eight years in the Orange Islands studying regional variations of Pokemon under Professor Philena Ivy to further his research and that of his original mentor Samson Oak, a well respected and well-known Pokemon Researcher. Right as he returned Ioane rushed himself to his mentor's lab and began comparing all of his notes from the past eight years. The young adult had gone home one day to say hi to his family for about an hour before he returned to the laboratory and that was where he has been since.

"... the wings of the Butterfree's in the Orange Islands are differ due to-"

"Eeeeee-yo!" A voice chimed in. "You're late!"

The young researcher turned to see a bright face staring at him from the doorway of his little research room of Professor Oak's laboratory. It was one of his little sisters, Kai. She glared at him with her big, caramel colored eyes, nodding her head with a shot of annoyance and disappointment.

"Late for what?" Io responded, returning to his notes. He continued jotting down notes as he felt his sisters eyes piercing in his direction, which sent an icy chill down his back. "I'm pretty sure I have nothing planned. I mean, I would know if I did or not."

"You don't remember that you volunteered yourself to Professor Kukui?" Kai sighed. "You volunteered to help with a new trainer."

"I... did?" Io muttered. He dropped his pencil and thought hard, trying to remember when he had done that. He remembered coming to the lab right away, being greeted by Professor Oak, dropping off his notes, going home to visit his family, talking with Professor Kukui once he returned to the lab, then with Professor Oak for a second time, and finally staying in his room with the notes he had dropped off. He rubbed his chin thoughtfully, biting his lips to induce some more stimulant to get his mind going even more. "Oh... I did."

The scene quietly replayed in his mind as he remembered his conversation with Professor Kukui.

"I've got a new cuzin coming to Alola. His parents asked me to find him a friend to help him out a bit." The professor said. "The first person who came ta mind was you. I know you just came back and all, but how's 'bout it?"

It all came flying back to Ioane that he said yes. The young researcher hadn't really been paying attention to the professor when they had their conversation as he was just excited to be back so he just said yes out of excitement.

"Here," Kai said, handing her brother a bag. It was a backpack full of clothes and other supplies that he would need along the way. "I knew you would forget so I packed your stuff for you. I saw the guy you're going to be traveling with when I was coming here." His sister's glare turned into a big, bright smile. "Have fun."

Io questioned his sister's smirk, but knew he didn't have too much time to think about it as he was already late. He thanked Kai with a quick hug and was out the door, on his way to Professor Kukui's to meet his new friend.
Ioane neared the lab and noticed someone standing outside. They were with their Pokemon petting what Io believed to be a Swablu, a Pokemon native to the Hoenn region. Kai had made the comment that she had seen his new companion so he came up with the assumption that this person was just that, his new traveling companion.

"Excuse me..?" Io said nearing the trainer. He threw up his hands and waved with an awkward and forced smile. "Are you..?" That's also when Ioane realized that not paying full attention to Kukui meant he didn't know what the name of the person who he was going to help was.
I'll post up sometime later today or tonight!
I can deal with that. Should probably stick to Melemele Island then right? If we want Professor Kukui to introduce them somehow too.
Ioane "Io" Alani

Gender: Male
Age: 18

Appearance: Growing up in Alola with his parents and ancestry being native to the islands, Ioane has been given the sun-kissed skin. He is tall, dark, and handsome. He has a head full of messy chocolate hair with a pair of piercing copper-colored eyes. He has a very chiseled face with a protruding chin. His physique is lengthy, lean, and full of muscle having spent most of his childhood swimming and running around the beaches and oceans of the tropical islands.

Often told he has an overall attractiveness but a grim and unsmiling face, he tries his best to be more open and appealing to others.

Personality: Io is a very quiet and reserved person who doesn't have very much to say unless asked. He is keen and intelligent, coming from a very big family on research. His specific area of study is that of the regional variations found throughout the world. The young researcher can often be seen as somber and distant as he is always lost in his own train of thought and day dreaming about the world around him.

Io has been told he has a very cold aura around him even though he is from the Alola Region. He tries his best to showcase a friendly and personable attitude but often comes off as extremely awkward creepy.

Hometown/Region: Hau'oli City, Alola

History: Ioane was born and raised in Alola. His parents raised him in Hau'oli City alongside his four siblings, with Ioane being directly in the middle. Both his mother and father are researchers in various subjects as are his siblings. His mother studies Oceanography where his father studies the Pokemon deep within it. Io's older brother and sister study prehistoric or fossil Pokemon and Fairy types respectively. His two younger siblings, two sisters, are budding researchers in the areas of the stars and space. With his family being so focused on Pokemon research, Io spent a lot of his time with Samson Oak as his area of expertise was on regional variations. That is where the boy inherited his peaking interest in the differences Pokemon cousins had from one another from different regions.

Io studied with Samson until he was ten, then was given the opportunity of a lifetime to research a different region with another professor in the Orange Island who was also studying regional variations. The professor in question was none other than the well respected and admired, Professor Philena Ivy. During his time in the Orange Island he was able to research and collect and immense amount of information and data on the differences between the Pokemon in the Orange Islands and their cousins in the similarly, tropical Alola Region.

It has been eight years since the last time he was back home in the Alola Region and Io is happy to be back to show his family what he has learned.

Pokemon Team

Trivia:
  • The Alani is a native plant to Hawaii.
  • His mom's name is Paia and his father is Kimo.
  • His siblings are: Danny, Leilani, Kai, and Kona.
  • Io has spent four months in Johto studying their regions specific Pokemon's gender variants and differences.
That'd be interesting. I'm not sure Io would be that willing to take their money for his research, but I'm pretty sure I can figure out a way to fit that in somehow! That would bring an interesting dynamic to the duo!
