Sarina had just left a café with coffee in hand, heading back to her Durango when a call was coming in and answered on her earpiece. “Agent De Santa, I think you’re going to like this one.” A female voice she recognized spoke to her. It of course is the voice of Agent Samantha Chambers, who was assigned to be her handler/partner when Sarina originally joined Liberty. Despite it be a rocky working relationship, they have learned to get on with each other well, developing to trust one another and even some may dare to say have grown a friendship over the last few months.

“Ah and if it isnt’ my favourite partner in crime about to send me to another fun adventure, and who do the higher ups like me to tackle this time.” Sarina answered as she got into her vehicle and securing herself in it. “De Santa, please this one is really serious, more likely the most dangerous assignment for you yet, I am forwarding some files for you to look over. Your next target goes by the name of Floyd Banker, A criminal individual who we believe has connections to the Salzaras Cartel. He also recently bought TAP, a place suspected for dealing drugs even before he bought it” Sarina accessed the in car computer to look over the documentation while she listened. “I can see why we have reason to believe his connections, it say’s here that his girl is none other than Rita Salzaras, she is Altered too, Sam why haven’t we took this guy down already?” there was a slight pause from the other end.

“Well technically we have yet to catch him doing a crime and Liberty would prefer catching him doing something in connection to Salzaras. After all those bastards are finding a way to get product over the boarders and we believe they are using altered to do it.” Sarina continued to look through the documents. “I can see why, Sam it says here that Rita is a pyrokinetic, hell even Floyd is suspected of having powers and there is this Lionel guy, Sam; you guys are sending me after three altered with connections to the most dangerous cartel going. Has liberty lost its mind sending in only one agent?”

“Look we know from recent intel that Lionel can form metal skin, Rita’s antics at a gas station confirmed what she can do, we think Floyd has earth or metal based powers, we need more information on this. I know this will most likely put you in the crosshairs of some very dangerous people but your best suited for this agent, you have your suit, your resistance to fire and should be more than capable in beating them in hand to hand combat should the need arise. Also you shouldn’t have to worry about Lionel right now, he is waging a war over in Oakland, but do not concern yourself with Oakland for the moment.”

“Thank you for the vote of confidence” Sarina fake smiled, not that her partner could not see that, right now her mind was playing scenarios in her head, this was by no means going to be easy and the Latina knew it and she let out a frustrated sigh. “I will on my way shortly to meet up with you, you’re not alone in this, I am your partner after all and should we need numbers I can call in backup, plus we can do whatever the hell we want right? We got this" Sarina’s smile was no longer fake. “I am glad they put us together, I value our partnership Sam.” Hearing a smile low chuckle from the other end. “I wouldn’t have it any other way, besides some one has to keep an eye on you right? I will meet you soon and Sarina, please be bloody careful out there.” Sarina had taken a sip from her coffee while she sat back and looked out her window, taking a moment to enjoy what peace she had right now. “Well I be damned, I think that is the first time you called me by my first name, see you soon.” Sarina ended the call and went back to looking over the information.

It had been another long and stressful day so far, Nyssa had been catching up on messages and email, even spoke to her father earlier in the day. He had sent them some news toys days ago that finally arrived this morning, for herself and her personal guard detachment headed by her head bodyguard Vincent Hobbs. Over the course of several days Nyssa had hardly left the compound, she was making sure to keep going outside to the prefab homes and checking in on those that needing shelter, she was thankful still that several medical personal and police officers choose to stay and help the camp, another reason she had not really gone out was to avoid the testing centres, like hell was she going to be tested when it broke the basics of the Constitution.

When Nyssa did have time to herself and stop for a break and a bite to eat, she managed to catch up on what was going on with her cell, she had not much chance to really catch what was going happening on T.V like others around could, mainly because she didn’t want to get distracted. She did smile though when she saw a message from Michael and that he accepted the better contract to continue on as her driver, there was no harm in having another altered around if shit hit the fan, but frankly it was the right thing to do and hoped it would help him keep out of any trouble by having a decent job. She shot a text back. ‘I am glad to hear it Mr. Hayes, when you get the time bring the signed paperwork back and consider yourself promoted, again stay safe.’

Since then a couple of her security detail were in the office with her, Vincent and Thea while two others, James and Graham stood outside her office door. Catching up on the multiple breaking news situations that had been occurring and no doubt made many within the aid camp worry greatly about what was going to happen next. Fortunately for Nyssa and her aid operation, with Astraea being neutral so far, it meant the no government forces or altered have caused any trouble or harm, allowing the camp be the sanctuary that Nyssa hoped it be, it probably helped they never enforced any testing to. Nyssa looked over to one of her bodyguards. “Thea, you look agitated, what’s on your mind?”

Thea was the type to speak her mind the most, of course she kept it professional in front of the public, but in private when Nyssa is happier for things to be more formal, the blonde guard often spoke her mind, even if it got her in a spot of trouble. “It’s all bullshit, I mean look at it.” She said pointing to the television screen. “Oakland has literally turned into a fucking warzone, then there are several attacks across Vegas and there are apparently reports that Miami has suffered an attack to, I mean what is this country coming to.” Vincent could only stand there with his arms crossed listening in, he too was pleased when Nyssa told him Michael was on-board, not that he would openly admit it. “I suppose one good thing out of today was Mayor Chen growing some big balls and making San Francisco a sanctuary. Although it just made this city a major target to Forrester”

Nyssa to was in deep thought but agreed with both her guard’s sentiments but really what mayor Chen did was get the ball rolling. But it has opened up the possibilities also. “Although this maybe true, yes the country is in turmoil right now, I don’t know what Mayor Chen was thinking, however other mayors has been making announcements since and now from what I understand Atlanta, Chicago & Detroit have also joined San Francisco, so that is something.” Nyssa took a moment to pour a small drink. “But it is smart, the testing centres and military will have to move out, but I suspect when they do they will probably block exits to the city, but Forrester won’t attack, it be political suicide to order military strikes on American soil that will harm innocent civilians. If anything Chen just put himself priority target number one, I would suspect he is thoroughly on Forresters shit list.”

Moments later Nyssa went around her desk and pressed a button on her phone to where a male voice answered. “Yes, Miss Devout?”

“I need you to get in contact with the Mayor’s office for me, let them know that I would like to arrange a meeting with Mayor Chen when he is able.” This could be a dangerous move on her part, but if she wants to continue offering support to those in need, she will have to speak with him at some point.

Morning.

“God dam it Winters, this isn’t a request, it’s an order and I expect you to follow them you hear me!” Sofija was getting an earful from her superior officer after her most recent incident at the naval base, what didn’t help her cause was her miss understanding being told her shore leave was being reinstated, but she took it as a choice and tried to argue her case, believing that she was okay to continue her service. “Yes Sir, Permission to speak freely.” She remained at attention.

“Denied! you should be lucky you’re not getting a dishonourable discharge right now, you will go back on shore leave pending an investigation, and that is an order I expect you to follow, you need to get control of yourself.” But Sofija had to continue pushing her luck and decided to speak out anyway. “With all due respect sir, it was an accident, one I didn’t mean to cause.”

“An accident! You disabled the Nathan James, And I said permission to speak freely was denied, do that again and you’re out. Now effective immediately you are on shore leave, so go home, take a walk along the beach or something, clear your mind and get control of yourself, Dismissed.” Sofija snapped a salute before she turned on her heel and left the man’s office, if only she didn’t have these abilities, she would be back on a ship by now, well once she was over her survivor’s guilt over those less fortunate from the Sampson.

Gathering up her things from her locker that she was going to take with her and put into a bag, Sofija left out towards her car, taking a moment to stop, face the American flag and saluting it for a moment while she was thinking about what she could do next. Soon she got to her Pontiac GTO, throwing her bag into the front passenger seat and sat in her car for a moment, sure she was still angry and decided to do a virtual middle finger in her mind to her superior officer, she blocked the local cell and radio frequencies locally around her until she left the base, starting up her car. She drove to the exit, once she was cleared to go she stopped her Frequency Distortions, no doubt pissing everyone of, but she was careful not to effect ships. With the window down and resting her arm on the door she enjoyed the breeze, she planned to call a friend, grab some belongings from her place and leave quick.

Late Afternoon.

Sofija had changed her plans without telling anyone, this more would probably be career suicide for her, but she heard the live broadcast of the mayor of San Francisco, issuing an executive order to make the city a safe haven for altered, and impulsively she made a snap decision there and then to head to the city instead, she also took out quite a bit of her money just in case it was to get frozen, however technically was not breaking any orders, she was taking some time off after all. But if there was really a chance of a safe haven then Sofija felt like she had to take the chance, also last time anyone heard she was visiting a friend elsewhere back in San Diego, so she brought herself some time before they realized what she has done.

There seemed to be a lot of activity on the roads on the way into the city, what was fully going on Sofija wouldn’t dare want to assume but it didn’t look good, were they getting sorted to locking down the city? Blocking that out of her mind, the enlisted lady continued to drive in, she was still in uniform, not hanging around to get changed at home she pulled over at a café, taking her cap and locking up her car, she entered the premises and looked for a vacant table ignoring some of the people that bothered to take notice of her coming, despite what the city has gone through this café was still in pretty good condition and nice. For now, she would have a hot drink and quickly look through an abandoned local newspaper, she would need to find a place to lay low, it probably wouldn’t look good turning up to a FEMA camp in a car and in uniform after all.

I am still around should a spot open, but i would still need to decide on several concepts
@Timemaster even more than the Zetans?
I just read through the 6 pages of the IC and find the rp and interactions to be very interesting! I was wondering if it okay to work on a nation and join in on the fun. :)
This looks really interesting and different, I am wondering if it okay to join the discord?

The journey had taken longer than she had planned but it was a necessity to avoid the checkpoints being setup by the police and military forces, thankfully her driver never questioned it and agreed, Nyssa had to admit that Mike was exceptionally good at doing this and considered him to probably be her most efficient driver she has had yet. Still when she started looking at messages and emails, she couldn’t argue with his choice of music, it was different.

She enjoyed the conversations they were having, although she wouldn’t reveal all, it was nice to talk about helping people out where possible as California seem to be coming apart bit by bit, well at least San Francisco is so far. Nyssa was thankful for the tinted windows however; no matter how desperate people would react to seeing some rich individual rolling into town. Her thoughts were disrupted by the sudden slam of the brakes which normally would illicit a sudden what the fuck, but looking ahead and hearing Mike sudden outburst it was clear to see why.

To her surprised an old lady had stepped out in front of them, luckily the slow speed meant that the incident would not have been fateful thankfully. A couple of workers had quickly come out profusely apologizing several times towards the vehicle as they came to the aid of the lady and quickly helped her back inside to care for her, it was clear they had their hands full and Nyssa couldn’t really tell if contact was made with the lady or not. However, that was not what caught her attention the most, she had to keep a calm look about her, the sudden breaking and the… sparks did have her jump a bit from the surprise, but she chose not to show it at that moment.

“Are you alright?” She would ask calmly before she would tell him to proceed carefully past the homes that had been setup, of course there was a very low speed limit for obvious reasons, people where everywhere getting sorted and it was crowded. But once the two vehicle convoy had safely reached towards where some of the ambulance were parked by the back doors to the rear building Nyssa got her things together before addressing Michael. “Thank you My Hayes, feel free to stay a little if you wish and freshen up, I will be here for a while so you will be free for the rest of the day.”

Nyssa smiled at him as she opened the back door to leave but paused. “Oh and Mr Hayes, before you do leave the premises if you choose to do so. I want to speak with you in my office shortly, there are a couple of things I want to discuss with you.” After a moment of hesitation, Nyssa stepped out of the armoured SUV with her security detail and close they closed the door behind her, soon she was swamped by several people giving her an update of the current state of the camp.

It was time, Nyssa had been given the message to her private phone from her driver that he was waiting outside for her. She had since finished her drink, gathered her bag and paperwork before making her way out of the room to her security detail. She took once more glance into the room she had been staying in before closing the door and turning to Vincent, her head of security, he had been her protector since she was little and Nyssa trusted him massively. One of the security detail had already left to get the second armoured Cadillac SUV in which the security would follow the one she would be in that Mr Hayes would be using.

Shortly after Nyssa and her security detail had made it down to the main lobby, once again she was on her phone talking to someone from the camp that had been set up, it sounded quite serious, it appeared some of the supplies that were meant to be delivered had been delayed because of the checkpoints that were being set up all over the place, it was not a disaster just yet as supplies were not running out just yet, but it would a be problem that would need solving. With her sunglasses on the walk through the lobby had some people look at the group as they were leaving but nothing out of the ordinary.

As they came outside the second armoured SUV had pulled up behind the one Mr Hayes was in as Vincent opened the rear passenger side door for Nyssa to get inside, once in and secure the door would close. The front passenger door would open briefly for Vincent to make Hayes aware the security detail would follow him, normal procedure really, he nodded to the driver before he would close the door, going back to the second vehicle and getting in. soon the little convoy was ready to try and make its way to their destination. Once Nyssa had finished on the phone she would take a deep breath before smiling at her driver. “Morning Micheal.” Away from the public eye Nyssa was more formal and didn’t mind the use of first names. “Today we need to get to the security depot which has been turned into a refugee camp, and if you can get us around those checkpoints the better please”

It had been a couple of hours since Sarina had lost her target in the suburbs, to say that she was pissed at Caitlin was an understatement and the chance for the target to come in quietly was now of the table. The bleeding of her had since stopped and a plaster was over the small cut on her face, least it won’t be a permanent scar. Plus, back up was needed for this one as Sarina had formulated an idea which she only hoped would work, thoughts of setting her target on fire crossed her mind but that would be to easy, so she had an idea on how to disable her target.

To make his work however she would need her target distracted to get close enough to do it, Sarina wanted to go medieval on her targets ass. It brought risk of killing said target but it all worked out right, she could disable her target and keep them alive. She had the back-up she requested, several Liberty agents where now in on the hunt, they weren’t altered like herself, but all they needed to do was keep the target distracted enough and not die in the process. Reacquiring her target had put herself and her small team back in towards town.

The chase was back on, Caitlin had encountered a check point where she resisted, no one was harmed from what the radio chatter was claiming, she refused to get tested and fled. Now she was wanted by the local authorities, capturing Caitlin now became a higher priority than before, up until now, the woman had never harmed anyone until she attacked Sarina, hence why the Latina was trying to give her target a chance to come in quietly. The small team had tracked Caitlin down, she had kept mostly hidden without the alleys, out of sight as best she could, and had stopped to probably figure out her next move in her panicked state it gave the team a small window to operate.

The team had the female surrounded, waiting for the right moment, the plan was to coerce the target to move in the desired direction towards Sarina who would be lying in wait hiding. Within moment the trap was sprung and several agents began their attack, guns drawn they moved in on the target, Caitlin immediately retaliated, attacking back with sonic screams, it was like a run and shoot scenario, the team was pressing on, forcing Caitlin to keep on the move, several trash cans and even an agent or two went flying, sure they be hurt but nothing life threatening, the woman just wanted to be left alone.

The plan was working, slowly but surely they were forcing Caitlin towards Sarina, sure the fire based agent probably could have used her powers and end it right there, and no doubt having some agents injured might piss of the boss, but the job was getting done. Deliberately the team left a gap for the desperate woman to take, she never hesitated now she was trapped between Sarina and the other agents without even realizing it. A few more sonic screams were still directed at the other agents as Sarina snuck up behind her target, thank god her suit was bulletproof as the odd shot was still going off and she be pissed to be hit by friendly fire. “LEAVE ME ALONE!!” Caitlin would shout at the other agents.

Once close enough Sarina pulled out a switchblade, ready to attack, “Hey” is all the agent would say as Caitlin spun round, but as quick as she did, Sarina swung the blade in her hand with surprising accuracy, slicing her targets throat before she could use her sonic scream again. Caitlin had stumbled to one side, unable to make a sound. “No,no,no,no” Sarina quickly grabbed hold of Caitlin, helping her down to the floor carefully and immediately put pressure on the wound she had just caused. “Why couldn’t you of just come quietly” She pleaded, regretting her action the moment she did it. She shouted at the other agents. “Hurry up and get some help over here!” She demanded.

“Come on, stay with me.” Sarina pleaded keeping pressure on the wound as some other agents secured the area around her, they didn’t seem to really care as a minute later a black van with blacked out windows pulled up to them with the side door immediately opening to reveal more agents. They took Caitlin out of Sarina's hands and into the van, they would not let the Altered agent in however as the others got in. “You make sure you bloody keep her alive” Sarina told the agents angrily before the door was slammed shut in her face, the van took off leaving Sarina to her own thoughts. She looked down at her hand covered in Caitlin's blood, the odd tear forming on her features. “FUCK!!!” she would yell out in pure anger as she hit a fireball out at a trash can setting it alight, her eyes having a fiery glow for a second when she did so.

Picking up the switchblade, Sarina quickly looked around, it appeared she had not caught anyone’s attention. Wiping of the blade before concealing it upon herself, she would quietly make her way out of the alley and back towards her Durango, she got a few glances from people who noticed the blood on her hand before she unlocked and got back in her vehicle. Taking a few moments to collect herself she got the first aid kit out to sort out cleaning herself up, opening her target file one more time looking at it for a moment, she didn’t bother wiping away the tears that fell down her cheeks. “Please make it.” She said softly before taking the picture out and closing it back up.

“I am Stacey Williams with ABC7 news reporting live from just outside of Astraea’s security depot here in San Francisco, here we can see many displaced people, many of which are families or been separated from families coming to the facility after their herculean effort to convert the back carpark into a camp but using small pre fab homes that were delivered overnight and put in place together.” Stacey points towards what they could see from their location as they had not been given permission to enter as of yet.

“Unfortunately as of yet, we have not been permitted to enter the private grounds at the moment, but we have been told at some point soon we can. This decision was likely made by Nyssa Devout, the daughter of the famous Franklin Devout, owner of Astraea Corporation. She has been pushing Astraea into more domestic areas, making strides into making private security and humanitarian aid divisions within the company.” Stacey took a moment for the camera to show many of the displaced citizens turning up and slowly being let into the premises.

“From what I have been able to found out so far, is that the people turning up here are being medically checked over by some doctors and paramedics, of whom were also displaced after yesterday’s deadly attacks where one of the main hospitals in downtown was destroyed. Several ambulances have been seen arriving here earlier and have been here since, helping security and humanitarian personnel deal with the influx of people and take some pressure of the local FEMA camps. It is also Rumoured that miss Devout herself will also be visiting the makeshift camp to inspect its progress. I hope to give you more updates soon, this is Stacey Williams with ABC7 news”

Time: little later in the Morning.

Nyssa Had been staying in one of the fancy hotel’s after arriving late in the evening yesterday. She wanted to oversee the San Francisco operations first hand, and ensure that the temporary changes that had been made to their security depot where going smoothly as she hoped and of course to see how people were settling in, overnight operations along with the immense amount of delivery trucks and human resources to get this operation of the ground in such short notice was impressive but she couldn’t slack of now, there was so much work still to be done. She was still quickly tidying herself up, wearing a white business suit and drinking a cappuccino when her phone went off.

She let out a sigh, her phone had been going off quite a bit over the last twenty-four hours, more than normal, making her reminisce of the days she would turn up on the cover of a Forbes magazine, it was a good distraction from the constant work she does now. Looking at who was calling, it was Franklin. “Hello dad.” She said sweetly. “I am fine, honestly, and no I have not shaken the security detail this time.” She would roll her eyes and she listened to him. “I know you told me not to come down here… Look dad, I am aware of how dangerous it is here, but you know me and this is important, there are people here that need all the help they can get and I am going to do my part.”

Taking another zip of her cappuccino, she listened to her concerned father, no doubt her mother would be losing her shit once she realized her daughter, against her parent’s better judgment, had gone to oversee the humanitarian efforts in person. “Honestly I will be careful dad; I promise” she ended softly. Of course he was probably worried about her being altered and not in the safety confines of home or Astraea’s HQ. “I understand, my driver will be along soon to pick me up, I will text or call later dad. Promise me you will stay safe to, tell mum I love her okay.” Nyssa chuckled a little. “Love you to dad, speak soon.”

Placing her phone down, Nyssa got her things together before she took a moment to look out the window of her hotel room. Seeing everything with her own eyes, TV just doesn’t do it justice and it annoyed her no end seeing so much death and destruction happening on home soil, but she had to keep her emotions in check as best she could for now, Last thing Nyssa needed was a repeat of the incident she caused a while back in L.A where letting her emotions get the better of her had changed the weather from a bright sunny day to a miserable wet one with some rain. Her little staring into space was disrupted by a knock at the door, a member of the security detail was just checking in on her and made her aware that soon it be okay to leave.
