@DarkwolfX37 While this is true, and your measured response is admirable, my thoughts are that a post to simply say 'Hey, sorry, real life stuff happened but this is still on' takes, like, two seconds. Perhaps we will see such a post in the next day or so, and all us doomsayers will look like a right bunch of assholes, but at the moment I would really hate for all these fun characters and all the work that has gone into making them to never really pay off.

Well, I mean, the GMs have all been online within the last three days... But I wouldn't ever consider a RP dead until a full month has passed since the last relevant post. Life can get in the way sometimes so it's a bit premature for you all to go about thinking this is dead.
I tested that. At least on the Sega Genesis Classics Pack 1 on Steam, Tails can lose all your rings.
Oh wow. That would absolutely suck. On the gems collection he only loses what he collects. Yeah, then you should just play without tails at all if you want the super sonic ending.
Who thought it would be a good idea to force the player to memorize the positions of the bombs in order to get Tails out of the way because he has literally no AI? It's ludicrous.
Tails only drops rings he's collected. As long as you collect them all, he's not an issue.
The greatest problem with that desire is your biological makeup and the minutely important fact that he's not real.
