Hey, you know what's annoying? Being self-centered. Getting mad at people for doing something instead of something else when they're just having fun sucks. Gotta love self-loathing, too.

I'm sorry?

Literally every problem in the games that happen after OoT are because Zelda made three fucking huge mistakes and Link either did or didn't make a huge mistake after them.
You know, as a Zelda Timeline theorist, it never really hit me just how much of the problems in Zelda games are because Zelda fucked up three fucking times in one game, setting the course for the problems of every game after. :/

To paraphrase, it's essentially OCD but not crippling and has little impact on quality of life.

Ah.
Gotta love how Arin blames the camera for his lack of manipulating the camera.

I know; I'm saying that despite being a disorder, what the brain is trying to do makes sense, but it fails miserably at doing so. To a less extreme degree is OCPD if you want to look into that, which is what several "OCD" people and potentially myself have.

I might look into that then.

I understand the concept. However, in an adaptive context, OCD only makes sense as something good to improve the current situation. For example, Dark's is cleanliness, which causes him to go out of his way to be sanitary. But in this case, it actually hinders his ability to be clean.

OCD isn't an adaptive thing. It's a negative adaption that would result in being less likely to reproduce, hence not propagating. Problem is, the things that cause it aren't strictly hereditary.
Basically, OCD means my neurons have created connections in such a way that the "signal of completeness" doesn't get sent. You know how, like, if you were to wash something, you would eventually reach a point where your brain says "that's enough."? My brain just doesn't do that, so in order to get that signal of "that's enough" I have to do a lot more, or just go without it which can lead to severe anxiety. It's actually pretty interesting if you want to look into the disorder more.
Personally I'm still checking in every once in a while and waiting for a new day IC, since I sort of wrote my first post to be stuck until a new day. I haven't really caught up on the IC though, so maybe I missed it happening, but the GM missing is a problem too...

Then wouldn't it make more sense in the context of OCD to take regular showers?

No. OCD is very much not rational.
<Snipped quote by DarkwolfX37>

Sounds boring. Aren't longer ones actually worse for you?

IDFK probably.
<Snipped quote by DarkwolfX37>

I read that as "morally wrong" at first and I agree on both accounts. It's an excellent game.

So much water gone, though.

No, dude, my showers take like.... 3-6 hours. OCD fucking sucks.
