Hey, you know what's annoying? Being self-centered. Getting mad at people for doing something instead of something else when they're just having fun sucks. Gotta love self-loathing, too.

What are some of the best spiritual techniques? And how do you divine said weak spot?

You know chi, right? Where I'm from, that's an "eastern" technique, which are usually useful against "western" based supernatural forces like light-based angels. As for finding their weak spot, you'll have a much easier time if you decide to get eyes beyond those that chakra can give at the end of your training here, but without them it's pretty much trial and error. Try removing limbs or the head and see how they react to it.

And the weakness of those? It seems that finding a particular material that they dislike would be too simple.

Mm. Erelim are weak against spells that draw from certain types of spiritual power, in general. Dispelling techniques are also useful against them. Nephilim are extremely varied, but usually have a weak spot of some sort. A "heart" to aim for.

In that case, how many different categories could an angelic being with barriers and light fit into? With one wing, if that's relevant.

Quite a few. The wing could be indicative of a category, or an individual "mutation" or injury. Many light-based angelic entities also use barriers, but the one I'd gravitate towards first would be an erelim. Or perhaps a nephilim. It would probably be easiest to check it than muse over the different things it could be. Erelim aren't universally one-winged, but they have a higher rate of it than most that fit into the category of both barriers and light. Nephilim tend to be all sorts of classical element based, so one that's got powers of light isn't far fetched.

How do you identify the specific weakness of any given category? And how are you confident that it will always be correct?

Luckily, people have done that work for us. And it's sort of like how you're confident that a homo sapiens will have a weakness to head injuries, or that a bird will be heavily affected by a wing injury. It's in their "design" so to speak.

And each one has unique properties to leverage?

Yes. Nearly every supernatural force of any kind has some weakness. There are rare cases of hybrids that cover their own weaknesses, but usually combining different sources means combining the weaknesses as well. Even if the weakness is as simple as an aversion to silver, for example. The hard part is keeping track of what is best used against what.

What are the various species? And what are recognition techniques?

Well, a species is technically a misnomer, but it fits well. Examples would be valkyries, wheels, powers, archangels, anitu, furies, tennin, etcetera. And recognition techniques range from rituals to simple spells to natural transmutational items that react to a specific type of supernatural power.

How would you tell the most effective method if one were to engage you in combat on the spot?

Personally, I'm well versed in the types so I would likely recognize its specific species, but usually you can tell by drawing out the fight and careful observation of their attacks. Alternatively you can use some sort of recognition technique.

Either a guardian angel or an angel of light.

Hmm... Guardian angel is tougher because they can vary a lot, but generally you want to use something that will leave very little trace of them, since a lot of times they're connected to their charge's soul and can recover using it. Fire is the simplest but things like overwhelming spiritual power can work well also. Angels of light tend to be connected to a deity of some kind, so whatever is anathema to it would work well. Alternatively, depending on the type, poisons work well. Not because they work physically, but because of the natural corruptive nature of poisons. Though make sure it's poisonous to the species most closely related to the type of angel, for example against a valkyrie, things that are poisonous to homo sapiens is preferable.

I have a question regarding combat if the category something you've experienced before. What would be the most effective way to defeat an angel?

Depends on the kind of angel. Could you be more specific?
<Snipped quote by DarkwolfX37>

Interesting. Are you experienced with most of these forms of combat or your specialty alone?

I'm experienced with all of them, why?
