W.I.P - I will tweak quite a bit of the origin though I used quite a few of the power descriptions from the Wikia as they describe them better than I can. I have toned down several things however, and going to play a lot on the psychological aspect. If anything right now screams "Lolnope" now tell me and I'll change it now.

Player Name: Sep
Character You Wish To Play:Robert "Bruce" Banner / Hulk
Moral Alignment: Bruce Banner - Heroic, he holds to strong Heroic Ideals. Hulk - WTL. He isn't a hero he just wants to be left alone.
Affiliation: None, on the Run. Eventually S.H.I.E.L.D / Avengers
Character Origin & Backstory:

Powers and Abilities:

Sample Story Arcs:
- Menace or Hero? Hulk/Banner need to find a way to co-exist.
- Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D - Currently reading these ones and I love the concept.
- Avenger? - That's if you do this Arc I'd like to get involved in it.
- Planet Hulk - Depending on if you plan to open up the cosmic realm this could be a possibility if he is cast out, and a way to tie in cosmic/earth based heroes together.

Sample Post:

Just keep it together Bruce. He let out a sigh, before breathing in again slowly. Opening his eyes. Cap low over his forehead he walked off the bus into the city. He was here to try and make his way towards the Future Foundation. They'd help surely, they had to help. He couldn't do this himself, that much was obvious and the military was hunting him. No the best option was to go to Oscorp. Norman Osborne was supposedly one of the smartest guys on the planet and had the resources to back him, yes he himself was smart but his expertise were limited largely to that off radiation everything else was... well. Not really his field.

This was at the point where he stopped really watching where he was going, jostled a bit to the left. To the right, someone was on front of him. Then he looked up and he was in an alley. Two people followed him in and he knew immediately this was bad. Breaking off at a run, keeping his breathing controlled. He stopped as he was facing a big guy, about six foot. Towering over him. One of them drew a knife. "Ooooh, somebody is wanting trouble." "No guys, I don't want any trouble. Why don't you just let me go and nobody will have to get hurt, all right?" He winced, he had said it. That was it, they'd see that as a challenge. "Oh, nobody will get hurt huh? Why don't we just waste this one? Thinks he's so big."

He screamed, part in fear part in pain as he felt the blade pierce his back. His heart rate elevated, and he fell to the ground screaming. Convulsing the thugs just looked upon him perplexed. They didn't hit him that hard did they? It was only a little blade, not meant to go very deep. That's when he looked up at one of them, his eyes turning green and his skin began to shift. "He's one of those mutant freaks! Get him!"

The kicking didn't help them, in fact it made things worse. All he could focus on, besides the pain was that he didn't want to kill these people. He couldn't lie, he didn't want to hurt them, but he didn't want them to be killed.

Bones snapped and moved, grinding against one another. Muscle mass grew as if out of nowhere as the thugs began to step back. The Hulk stood, the knife falling broken out of his back. He just breathed heavily, one of the thugs moved first. Pulling out a gun and shot Hulk in the back. He just turned absorbing the shot. Throwing a dustbin in their direction knocking two of them into a nearby wall, when the other three began to run he jumped, pulling himself via the building (and removing a chunk of wall) to get on front of them. There he stomped, the ground cracking enough that they fell into it...

[[If this is acceptable, this is where I'll start the IC.]]

The Incredible Hulk is now accepted. You may move the application into the character tab and you may start posting in the IC! :D

Welcome true believers; welcome to All-Star Marvel, an intoxicating land where creativity for creativity's sake can take priority and enable you to render stories and events you could only have dreamed of in all of your previous mundanity. We welcome you to a unique narrative opportunity to take any Marvel character character and re-imagine them in a way that makes them pleasurable for you to write unique and original stories with. In this universe no events in the main Marvel comics continuity are considered canon. It is entirely contained within the forum and within your imagination. Am I over-egging it? Perhaps. It's still pretty cool to see.

Whether you're one for emotional drama or a sucker for physical trauma, the vast range of characters available could fit any genre or any purpose you could reasonably imagine. Is your interest piqued by a fresh interpretation of Bruce Banner that you really wanna try out? Own it. Love Thor but hate that darned old hammer? Sling it. Think that The Whizzer is in need of a drastic revival? That's good too. No-one is off limits here. Not even Doop. As long as they have appeared in a canonical Marvel tale on either the page or the screen they're free for refurbishment. Here, the MARVEL UNIVERSE is yours to mold.

FAQ

Q: Wait, I have seen this interest check before! Is this a reboot?

A: I would say a soft reboot. While we will remain in the current thread, the slate is still pretty much clean. You will not need to read through the IC to know what is going on (and if you have any questions, you can just ask and either I or one of the other current players can help explain).

Q: Is there a long list of rules?

A: There is a list (not as long as it might seem), but think of them more like why McDonald's put a warning on their coffee that it is hot. Sometimes, you just need to get some "common sense" down on paper.

Q: Are OC (Original Characters) allowed?

A: Strictly speaking, original characters are not allowed. However, due to the nature of this RP, you can fashion the Marvel character in (almost) whatever why you desire, so you still have a medium for creative leeway. Also, I probably would turn a blind eye to OC's who are supporting cast (with that said, don't go too crazy!).

Q: Can I start out as a villain?

A: I would prefer you first apply for either a hero or walking-the-line character (an example of the second group would be someone like Punisher). However, if you really, really want to play a villain, you have to convince me that this will not be a "one and done" thing.

Your character must have appeared somewhere in one of the many media that Marvel distributes (comics, films, television, video games, etc.). Therefore, you may not use characters owned by other comic companies (like Batman) or original characters. However, you are free to take liberties in the creation of your character.

@Sep

The detail is fine. If you wish to add more, do so at your own discretion.

I'll have to think about the inclusion of the Future Foundation (i.e. the Fantastic Four). I was thinking about throwing up another interest check to try to garner some more interest in this RP (we will remain in this thread, by the way). On one hand, I don't want to limit what characters potential players would want to use, but on the other hand, I don't want to handicap the creativity of the current people we have at the moment. While I am not against your idea, I just don't want to hamstring anyone who wants to play as a Fantastic Four character. Let me think about it over the next 24 hours.
Hmmm... the thing is what to turn him into with the whole rule about not making it too much like the comics.

I think that rule is there to make sure we don't have any carbon copies of these well-known characters. You can look at my and NMS's character sheets to see how you can take inspiration from Marvel and DC comic canon and mold them into their own characters (our characters, along with War-Pulse, are probably the most 'traditional' superheroes in this game at the moment).

For instance, at first glance, Arachne might seem like a carbon copy of Spider-Man (although I made her prior to Marvel publishing Spider-Gwen, so they're copying me!). However, there are several changes, some more obvious than others. For starters, she's a drider (basically a spider centaur). Her back story is extremely different from the other spider heroes (she doesn't have some sad childhood story). She doesn't have the "With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility" theme. Furthermore, the Greek gods add another layer of differences.

What I would like you to take from this is creating an original backstory (or one that is not identical to Bruce Banner) should probably be priority number one. We probably will be quite lenient if you make his powers similar to the Hulk, but having a different backstory would help distinguish your character from the Hulk. So I would stay away from Gamma radiation (or any form of radiation if possible). Maybe stay away from turning into a "jolly green giant" would also help. He (or she...just covering my bases here ) can still turn into a behemoth, but just make sure it is not "he (or she) turns into the Hulk. Also, you could also take inspiration from multiple characters. For instance, look at Captain Marvel (either Shazam from DC or Ms. Marvel from Marvel works, honestly). When both of these characters originally appeared in comics, they had separate identities: Captain Marvel and Billy for the former and Ms. Marvel and Carol Danvers for the latter. This still shows a way of portraying this duality between "smarts" and "brawn".

TLDR: Create a unique backstory and stay away from things that are not necessary to this idea of the dual personality (green skin, Gamma radiation, etc). Also, you can also look at other characters with dual personalities (Shazam, Ms. Marvel, even any interpretation of Jekyl and Hyde).

<Snipped quote by Sep>

You could simply do. Gamma + X = Hulk. Say ham sandwich = Ham Hulk. Or Spider Hulk, or Lizard Hulk as Marik said. Or magic Hulk, Cursed Hulk. Oh and you'll need a pouch sword. I wonder if anyone will get the reference.

I know pouches were a big 90's fad (thank you Longshot). While I cannot recall any actual characters having a pouch sword, the web comic Spinnerette (a satire on the comic genre) is having a story arc at the moment that is sort of poking fun at "Spider-Verse" and the 90's Spinnerette has a pouch sword...
I can add more detail if you require.

Let me read through it. :D
Sorry to have left earlier, when making my sheet.

However I now have more time, is this still going?

Also, what would you think of a possible early variation of the Hulk?

Where he's not quite a hero yet and more along the Hulk persona rather than the Hulk/Banner mix that's seen in the likes of the Avengers.

Not just asking for Opness, big Hulk fan. Need to get more of the comics actually... but that's post-payday material :P

Yes, this is still going on. And yes, I would be fine with an early variation of the Hulk.
Abra

Abra did not immediately realize that Marianne had enter into the tent. However, once she made her presence know, it was quite obvious. The little dark mage tugged onto her arm, almost like a nagging child would do to her mother. However, this would have to be a sadistic child because Abra could feel the crazy girl’s fingernails digging into her arm as she tried to get Abra’s attention. In response, Abra jerked her arm away from the dark mage, freeing herself from the girl’s grasp.

“What the heck is this girl’s problem?” Abra thought to herself as she glanced back toward the dark mage. If she did not know better, Abra might have guess that this crazy mage was Jacob’s control-freak girlfriend. She could not decide whether she should take it as a complement that, even though Abra was significantly older than Jacob and any sort of intimate relationship between them would be quite weird, Marianne seemed to look threatened by her. Heck, normally, Abra might have tried to irk her by bending over while standing up to examine the chessboard instead of taking a seat. However, Marianne, even with the little time she has been around her, has started to creep her out. She dug her nails into Abra’s arm without knowing what was going on. What the heck would she do if Abra was deliberately egging her on?

“See. He said that it’s fine.” Abra was going to tell Marianne to chill, but she thought it would be better if she did not act in that way. Again, Abra did not want to hit a nerve on this already paranoid young girl. Once she had made that short comment, Abra scooted the chair that was on the opposite end of the board a few inches away from herself, making sure there was a little more room between herself and Marianne. Then she turned her attention back to Jacob.

“The flashy magical chess set is good and all, but can these pieces be used in a regular chess match? Don’t you already see enough violence and gore on the battlefield to just relive it again while back in camp?”

I know some of you (but not all of you) have either gone missing over the last few months since this has started. I just would like a confirmation whether any one of you are still on board. I am planning to get some new recruits and I would like to know which characters are still open.

Aubrey Adkins

Is God punishing me? It almost feels like it, if you take into account all the crazy crap that has been occurring ever since I got these powers. Crazy mad scientists and secret agency government men. Demons and so-called ancient gods. What the heck is happening to this world where I am living at the moment? Life just never seems to give me a break. Take this morning. Before I went to bed last night, I felt perfectly fine. However, when I woke up this morning, I felt like I had the worst stomach bug that I had ever had. So bad that my friends had to leave me behind when they departed for mass. While they were probably praying for me to get better, I was stuck vomiting the little food I had for breakfast in the bathroom.

I suddenly heard footsteps moving about in our apartment. It couldn’t be my roommates. While they have been gone for some time, it hasn’t been an hour yet. Was someone hear to rob our apartment? If I wasn’t feeling so miserable, a robber would have found a rude awakening when he discovered that he was trying to rob a metahuman’s home. However, when the bathroom door swung open, I discovered that it was actually Athena. Of course it would be her. Why wouldn’t it?

However, when she saw the condition that I was in, I saw for the first time an expression of confusion on her face. If I wasn’t feeling like my innards were turning inside out, I would have laughed so hard and enjoy the moment. Unfortunately, even if I was feeling well, I would not have enjoyed it for long. Before I knew it, Athena was kneeling down beside me. She pulled the power-nullifier off my wrist, causing me to revert back into my ‘drider’ form.

“Hey! These are my favorite pajamas! You could have made me ruin them!” However, Athena completely ignored me, continuing to examine my wristband.

“Looks like I should not have only examined that male metahuman’s device. These reverse-engineered versions made by Christopher Arthur seems to be faulty.”

“What?” In response to my question, Athena gave me an expression that made it seem like she was talking to a child. How much I wished that expression of confusion was still there.

“The imperfection of the nullifying mechanic within this device is causing your sickness. I’m assuming you are feeling better now.”

In fact, all my symptoms had disappeared once I returned to my ‘drider’ form. However, I didn’t realize anything because I was more worried about my pajamas, although I would not admit it to anyone. Then came Athena’s version of 50 questions: how long have you been wearing it, have you kept it on for this long before, when did the symptoms start.

“Well, it appears that it will take several hours until your body can endure the nullifier without negative symptoms. Until I can get Mr. Arthur to correct his faulty design, you probably could sleep without your nullifier to prevent these symptoms from reappearing. However, you will have to find something to do for the next couple hours until you can safely use this device again.”

“Wait a second.” I told her, “Why can’t you just fix it yourself? You’re supposed to be a goddess. Shouldn’t you be able to make it work properly?”

“Unfortunately, mortal, those like myself have sworn an oath that forbids us from doing so. If I would fix this device, it would become a slippery slope. Next, someone will ask me to solve something else, something that is outside of your current technology. Unfortunately, even if this technology was intended for good, your species will eventually discover a way to use it as a weapon and probably wipe yourself out of existence.”

“Am I hearing this correctly? You’re refusing to fix this device because you think in doing so you will eventually give humanity the means to destroy ourselves! You’re joking! Right?” However, Athena just stared at me, wearing an expression that unfortunately did not show that she was joking. “What in the world do you have mind now?” I knew she had already planned something. She already once dragged me off to Lost Haven to help fight some demon invasion. While I wish it wasn’t the case, how could she not already have something up her sleeve (if she had any sleeves)?

She did not answer me. Instead, she did her usual ‘place her hand on my shoulder’ and ‘teleport to somewhere else in the world’ trick. In a blink of an eye, I found myself (and Athena, of course) in what appeared to be an abandoned apartment complex.

“I know this might be something you might tell me anyways, but I’m going to ask it anyway and get it out of the way. Where the heck are we?”

“Lost Haven. Little Sicily to be exact. A while ago, a powerful metahuman gave this place an extreme make-over. If you thought that you got one, it was nothing like what happened here. While the Olympians have this being on their radar, we have a more eminent threat.” Athena strolled over towards a nearby window. Once I get beside the Greek goddess, I peered out of the window, catching sight of a Greek-styled temple.

“So, what’s up with that? Someone trying to outdo the Parthenon in Nashville?”

“I wish I could say so.” Athena responded, “But unfortunately my hard-headed half-brother, Ares, has gone rogue. But don’t worry. I always have a plan. I’m the Goddess of Wisdom, am I not?”
