What's the time in game? Still Fall?

<Snipped quote by FacePunch>

Last I was informed for present time: 2 days since riots, and February... which tosses me for a loop.

Yes, it is February (Nitemare Shape goofed up one time and accidently thought it was August. Sorry about bringing that up. :p). The meeting is happening at night.
@nitemare shape, Somethings that I think should happen:
- Proper introductions. We don't want Chris to keep calling his "teammates" by his made-up handles. Obviously, it does not have to be secret identities.
- Someone should ask "how the heck did you locate us?"
- Icon might want to mention that he has met Raptor, Wasp, and Arachne.

After everyone has had a chance to get a post (even if it is a short post) up, we can go on from there (what to do about the 'bomb', what should 'plan B' be, etc).

@VATROU: Will get to your PM asap.
Merry Christmas (Eve), everyone! For your present, you get a post!

Christopher Arthur III

Minerva stood alone at Settler’s Clearing. A holographic projector had been set up beside her in anticipation for Christopher Arthur’s little ‘superhero’ meeting. At that moment, she was peering down at her watch, while at the same time taping her foot against the ground. Was Chris really going to be late for his own meeting that he himself wanted to be set up? Normally, these meetings that he would usually miss or come late to were what he would have considered ‘boring’ or ‘tedious’. Would he treat this in a similar fashion?

One by one, the heroes arrived. Thunderbolt and Boom zoomed there in the flash of lightning. Icon soared down from the sky. Even those who did not have the colossus powers of these previously named heroes found a way to arrive. Lyger even pulled up in his own vehicle. Once Radiance had arrived, the only hero who was missing was their host himself, Chris. Minerva could not believe that her boss was skipping out on the meeting that he requested to be arranged. It was a monumental task for her to find where she needed to put the invitations. Or at least it would seem monumental if a mortal had accomplished it, since Minerva was in fact Athena in disguise, who enlisted the aid of Helios to discover these heroes’ whereabouts.

After a few minutes, a limousine finally pulled up to where the heroes and Minerva had gathered together. Once the vehicle slowed down to a standstill, the chauffeur walked around the car and opened the backseat door that was facing the assembled heroes. When the door was opened, Chris stepped out of the limousine and removed his sunglasses from his face, placing the pair of glasses into his dress shirt’s pocket.

“I apologize for the delay. My appointment with the Miss March from the Viera Magazine ran over a little longer than I expected.” When Chris realized that the others were giving him a blank stare as their response to his comment, he tried to qualify his statement. “Hey, when someone, who usually dates superstars and models, discovers that their date actually understands half of the scientific mumbo-jumbo, he might want to extend the night out a little bit.”

“Okay, so before we begin, I would like to match up names with faces. While we all know who Icon is,” Chris gestured towards the blue and silver superman, “Unless you want me to refer to you all as the Quicksilver twins, the Black Panther, and Electra, we might want to do a short little ice breaker.”

“I’ll start. I’m Christopher Arthur III. Playboy millionaire and philanthropist. However, you might better know me as Iron Knight, who helped most of you, whom, if my memory serves me correctly, were all involved with stopping that whole Demon Invasion fiasco.”

After the heroes became reacquainted with one another, Chris pulled out a small remote and clicked one of the many buttons that were on that device. Immediately, the holographic project started to hum, signaling that it was warming up.

”Well, if the invitation was not clear enough, we’re here to discuss this situation.” A recording of the broadcasted message of the man, who had threatened to give everyone in the world superhuman powers, was played by the holographic projector. “A little over 24 hours ago, this aired on national and international television, as I am sure you all have seen. I have called this meeting so that we could decide the proper course of action. While S.T.R.I.K.E. is scrambling around Lost Haven to find this device, I would like to be able to have a ‘Plan B’ in my pocket, just in case everything goes to hell.”

“About a few weeks ago, I had encountered a small facility in West Virginia that was producing a chemical that seemed to develop metahuman powers in regular people. At first, I was not quite sure whether the man in that broadcast was associated with the people who I encountered in West Virginia. However, after corroborating the broadcast’s story about his followers stopping a ‘terrorist’ from tainting one of Lost Haven’s water supplies with this crude video that was taped by an eye witness, I am convinced that they are one and the same.” The video changed to the home video of the event where the group of metahumans were confronting War-Pulse. However, the quality of the video made it difficult to discern the identities of the metahumans captured in the tape. “In this video, you will see this large, shark-like man. I fought that same man in West Virginia. So I feel it is safe to assume that these two events are not mere coincidences.”

“Therefore, before we decide anything, I would recommend that we recruit a few others who might provide us with some useful intel about this group.” The holographic projector changed the image that it was displaying again, this time showing images of Raptor, Wasp, and Arachne. “I found these three artificial metahumans at that West Virginian facility. I don’t know whether you all have seen them before, but hopefully they can give us some more insight into what we’re getting ourselves into.”

Then, an image of War-Pulse appeared over the holographic projector. While S.T.R.I.K.E. did not have much on this figure, by using his own memory and the video feed from his armor, Chris was able to develop an approximate recreation of what War-Pulse might look like. “For those who helped us during the Demon Invasion, this guy might look familiar. I cannot for the life of me remember if he mentioned his name then, but for our purposes here, let’s call him ‘Winter Soldier’, in order to keep with the ‘Marvel’ theme. From the video footage that I had just shown you a few minutes ago, it appears that this metahuman had quite a scuffle with the people who are threatening to change everyone into metahumans. Just as with the other metahumans, hopefully this ‘Winter Soldier’ will know what we’re up against.”

“So, any questions before we continue?”
@nitemare shape Almost finished with post. I will hopefully have it up tomorrow.
Sorry about the long time between posts. I will work on a Hawkeye post after I have finished a post for the Create-A-Hero RPG (and a Spider-Man one after Natty and Drew have a chance to post).

Carol Danvers

Carol had never heard someone else’s voice inside her head before. Even if the voice itself was calming and tried to establish that the mutant understood what she was going through and could help if necessary, the act of invading someone’s mind was at the very least a little disconcerting. This redhead did not seem too threatening, but what would stop her, or anyone else with similar powers, from pushing a thought into Carol’s mind or convince her to do something? Carol did in fact have potentially destructive powers of her own, but nothing could stack up to the power of violating an individual’s free will.

Meanwhile, Unus, with his impenetrable shield, gathered around Mastermind and the knocked down Blob. Once the three mutants were inside the protective encasing of Unus’ powers, nothing could harm them. Not even the psychic abilities of Jean Grey. Therefore, the three mutants held out within this defensive bubble until Vanisher reappeared in order to carry the remaining Brotherhood members away to safety.

After the departure of the remainder of the Brotherhood of Mutants, another one of the X-Men decided to chime in about Carol accidently sending a blast of energy in Jean Grey’s direction. In fact, it was one of the X-Men that she had not even noticed was there until that moment. However, his cursing was not the worse part about him flipping out. Normally, when one would jab a man with one’s finger, one would normally strike that man’s chest. However, if it were a woman instead of a man, the anatomic differences between the sexes would make the situation a little bit more awkward, as it was now for Carol. If Storm and Beast had not intervened in the nick of time, impelling the speedster to a half-assed apology (better than nothing), Carol would have slapped the man so hard (assuming she could hit him) that even his superhuman speed would have trouble canceling out the velocity at which she had sent him flying.

Now that the Brotherhood was defeated and all the civilians saved, the four X-Men began to depart in the Blackbird. As the Blackbird flew away southward back towards New York State, Carol looked down at the small business card that Jean Grey had telekinetically given to her a few moments ago. On the card it read: “Xavier Institute of Higher Learning”. Assuming from what Jean said about how they help people like her and from the rumors that these X-Men are mutants, Caroled decided that somehow this school must be helping out mutants on the side while still fulfilling its academic duties.

But a different thought entered into Carol’s mind. Was she herself a mutant? She does have powers, but Carol had never head of a mutant that could fluctuate between two set ages. However, never seeing this power does not mean it does not exist. Just as never seeing a million dollars before also does not make that amount of money fictional. But what would her father think about his daughter potentially being a mutant? He already was resentful that she survived the car crash and her brother Steven didn’t. Since she did not want to allow one of her parents to accidently stumble upon this card, revealing the possibility that she was a mutant, assuming they could make the connection between the school and mutants, Carol tried to activate her powers in the palm of her hand, this time attempting to localize the affect. Once her powers fired up, the card was incinerated.

Once the only evidence that could suggest that she might possibly be a mutant was destroyed, there was no longer any reason for Carol to stick around. While she knew that she had the ability to fly, particularly from the event where she caught that falling plane, Carol nevertheless has never consciously flown, or at least from what she could remember.

“How hard could it be?” Carol thought to herself as she looked up towards the stars. Right when she began to think about flying, the yellow aura reappeared around her body. With one leap off the ground, Carol soared up into the sky. At first, it seemed pretty easy to her. All she needed to do was aim both of her arms in the direction towards which she wanted to fly. However, Carol realized how fast she ascended into the sky until she realized that she had broken the atmosphere and therefore was now hovering in space.

Since it was the natural reaction to the situation, Carol threw her hands around her through, momentarily believing that she could not believe because space was a vacuum and did not have any oxygen and the other trace elements necessary for human respiration. However, after a few seconds, she realized that she was not suffocating for some strange reason. Her yellow aura was shining even brighter now. Was it the reason why Carol was able to endure the vacuum of space, along with its subzero temperature.

Once Carol had gotten over the shock of her ability to survive in space, she finally beheld the majesty of the view that lay before her. The moon sluggishly rolled past her. The surface of the moon that was facing her reflected the rays of light of the sun that the earth itself was not blocking. Behind the moon were the stars that filled the black void of space. Around any urban area, most of the stars remain invisible to the naked eye. However, up in the space, Carol could see the light of countless stars shine. She could even barely make out Mars and Jupiter, although they seemed more like stars from this distance.

When she had finished gazing at the stars and the other celestial bodies, Carol turned her focus back to earth. Everything looked so small from up in space. Even Massachusetts appeared to be a small protrusion on the North American continent, let alone the city of Boston. It almost felt the same as when someone looks out of an airplane window and sees that the buildings and cars almost appear as if they were miniature toys.

“Well, looks like getting back home will be quite interesting.
Gonna get to work on that Lyger post Ded is waiting on

I'll start drafting my 1st post. :)
