Ironically, only Amazing Spider-Man was entirely set in high school. The original Spider-Man and Amazing Spider-Man 2 only had a short part where they were in high school (and ASM2 had it last shorter, too, if I recall correctly).

And for the ASM movies, I thought it was interesting to look into the past of Peter's parents. It is just that they did not execute it as well as the should have.

@Sep: I am really interested in seeing how Marvel/Sony can make Spider-Man relevant again. When Spider-Man 1-3 came out, it didn't really have much competition in the superhero genre. If you were going to see another super-hero movie, you were going to go back to Spider-Man 1-3. However, the Amazing Spider-Man series actually had some competition. Amazing Spider-Man had Avengers and Dark Knight Rises. Amazing Spider-Man 2 had Captain America: Winter Soldier, Days of Future Past, and Guardians of the Galaxy. Were you going to go back to Spider-Man or see one of the other movies that might be better? The answer is obvious.

@Sep: I agree. I fear that Batman v. Superman might suffer the same as the Amazing Spider-Man 2 (or even Age of Ultron): trying to set up an equivalent "MCU" in the DC Universe. Marvel did: Iron Man, Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America, Avengers. Sony did: ASM, ASM2. DC is doing: Man of Steel, Batman v. Superman. The only things I can think of off the top of my head that BvS has over ASM2 is that it has 1) Batman, a proven successful comic character in film adaptions (although the same could be said of Spider-Man before the ASM movies), 2) the novelty of Batman and Superman in the same film, and 3) Age of Ultron did well, despite suffering the "this movie is basically a preview for the next five movies" syndrome.

Edit: We're not trying to rain on your parade, KidLantern. I'm glad you're hopeful for BvS.

Well, since the trailer was just released on that day, we were just being cautious. Now that the trailer has been out for a couple days, it's probably safe to assume spoilers are not required.

I am honestly looking forward to Civil War more than Batman v Superman. Obviously I am biased towards Marvel (and Spider-Man being in the MCU). I just don't have as much faith in DC's film division as I do in Marvel's. In the past decade or so, unless it had Batman in it, the film hasn't always been stellar (although I will admit that, by box office numbers, the same can be said about Marvel and Iron Man). Sure, everything that Marvel makes isn't always golden, but it is telling when one company can capitalize on lesser known/ less popular properties (Guardians of the Galaxy) while the other still hasn't been able to get out of their "Big 3". At least for me, DC needs to prove that they can make a movie without Batman.

DC's television series, on the other hand, are quite superb.

Well, the formation of the domes and Archangel's "surgical strikes" happened almost consecutively, so I assumed that that part was lumped together.

Also, as I have already mentioned, I am not very certain what the "surgical strikes" entailed. Since there was a mention of light, I assumed it was like the device that Archangel and Iron Knight used on Nightmare.
