@NeutralNexus: I can't lie. War-Pulse probably is one of my favorite characters in this roleplay (of course Arachne is the best...).

I felt that buzz in my head that was the signal of my so not copyright-infringed spider-sense. While it usually warns me about some kind of danger, right now it was alerting me to my morning alarm. It had all the benefits of a regular alarm clock, but without that annoying blaring sound. I mean, who even enjoys hearing your alarm clock in the morning? I have finally learned how not to wreck my clock with my spider strength while trying to turn the alarm off. That definitely saved me from wasting money on replacement clocks.

When I rolled over in order to shut off my annoying alarm, I discovered that, while I was asleep last night, I must have subconsciously wrapped my spiderlike legs around Will, drawing him into some sort of weird eight legged and two armed embrace. Since he had not woken up from the knockout gas that our deranged cabbie had tried to use on us last evening, I allowed him to sleep in my bed so that I could make sure he seemed to be doing fine. When he did wake up after I had basically carried him along with me when I rolled over, his initial reaction was what you would have expected. He started to panic because the last thing he remembered was getting into a cab and now something was wrapped around him.

“It’s just me, Will.” I tried to calm him down. “Sorry about becoming a weed during the night.”

Once I began to loosen my spider legs’ grip around him, Will started to rotate his body around so that he would be facing towards me. He then wrapped his arms around where my hips merged with my spiderlike lower body.

“Don’t worry about it.” He said as he gazed into my eyes, “I can’t quite put my finger on it, but there is just something…”

“Weird?” I tried to finish his thought.

“What? You’re my girlfriend. You know that your drideresque appearance doesn’t bother me. I still believe that you look stunning, even if you have eight legs and a spider’s abdomen.”

“I don’t know whether I should be flattered or worried that you are not repulsed by the whole giant spider thing.

We continued to dawdle in bed, even though we knew that we did not have too much time until we had to get Will to the airport. What was even more cruel was that the little incident involving the cabbie last evening robbed us even more time that we could have spent with one another. Instead, I had to make sure that Will was at least breathing.

“So, what exactly happened last night. I can’t quite remember.”

I knew this awkward conversation would rear its head at some point or another. I didn’t know how else I could have broken the news, I decided to just be straight with him.

“Our cabbie was trying to kidnap us, but I handled the situation.”

“Thank goodness my girlfriend is secretly a superhero, or we probably would have been pretty screwed.”

“Well, that’s sure one way to look at it.” Well, at least he’s taking it as well as you could hope for.

Knowing that we were now on the clock, Will and I released each other from our mutual embrace and began to pull ourselves out of my bed.

“You have pants that fit your drideresque build?” Will mentioned after I threw off my bed’s covers, revealing what use to be a pair of yoga pants. “That’s pretty cool.”

“Athena made them for me. It felt wrong not wearing any, even though I’m more spider than human down there.”

After I spoke, I paused. These four words, that I was ‘more spider than human’ stuck in my mind. Unlike the other major, publically known heroes, like Icon and Lyger, who could just throw on some regular clothes to become almost unrecognizable, it is pretty difficult to walk around in public as a drider and not get noticed. Sure, I can and do use my power nullifier, but all it does it hide my true nature.

“Do you ever wonder whether you’re committing bestiality by dating me.”

“Where did that come from?” Will asked as he took at seat next to me on the edge of my bed. “I think there is a huge difference between dating you and screwing a goat or something. You’re still human, after all.”

However, when he saw that the concerned look that was plastered on my face had not disappeared, he decided he needed to continue.

“In arachnid anatomy, a spider’s body develops in such a way that only members of the same species can mate with one another. So, if we can’t, well…” Will stumbled over his own words. His face began to grow red because of embarrassment. “...you know, we wouldn’t have to worry about anything because it would be physically impossible. However, if it is possible, then it should be proof that you’re still human.”

“Despite the comparison between me and actual spiders, it’s sweet that you have such confidence in my humanity.”

“But I’m by no means suggesting that we test that hypothesis right now. That does not mean that I don’t want to, because I do, but…” Will paused a second before he continued, “Actually, I probably should take a shower now before I put my foot in my mouth more than I have already done.”

After he stood up from his seat on my bed, but before he took a couple steps, I used my spider forelegs to pull him back within arm’s length. I then planted a kiss on his cheek.

“See you in a few?” Will nodded before I released him and allowed im to get ready for his flight.
Once he had gotten into the shower, I too finally got out of bed. Since I had to get Will to the airport, I obviously could not just walk around in public while my powers were not nullified. Therefore, I swapped out my drider-shaped yoga pants for a regular pair. After I threw on a fresh t-shirt so that I would not look too much like I just rolled out of bed a few minutes ago, I then left my bedroom and took a seat on my couch while I waited for Will to finished his shower. When I flipped on the television, I saw the following “Breaking News” headline on the television.

The Pacific Ghost Taken in Custody After Metahuman Intervention

Oh God. Although I hoped that this wasn’t the incident that we were involved in, I just knew that it was, long before the news anchor on the screen confirmed it. Apparently, this nutjob had been moving up and down the West Coast, preying on innocent tourists, whose disappearance would have taken longer to be noticed. Either my employment by Viera has not made me as infamous as I thought or he was just taking a rather large risk going. But as Will said, we’re lucky that I have superpowers because otherwise we probably would be several feet under the earth by now.

Kelly Brown | Samantha Kadowsky | Zac Wilson

On the previous night when they ran into what seemed to have been a werewolf, Zac and Kelly dropped off Sammy at her apartment before they made their way back home. Once they were home, the two young metahumans worked together to carry the boy, who had turned into an anthropomorphic wolf only just a little while ago, into their apartment and set him down on their couch. On the next day, since the boy was still sleeping like a rock, Zac and Kelly decided to let him rest in peace. Therefore, Zac and Kelly then left to meet Sammy for some lunch while they waited for their guest to wake up.

“I don’t see why we had to take in that little furry.” Sammy complained, probably because of how the werewolf had chased her around and up a tree just last night. As the three young metahumans walked up to Zac and Kelly’s apartment’s front door, Sammy sipped on a milkshake that she had bought while the three of them were out for lunch.

“Yes, just leaving him at the drive-in or dropping him off at a hospital where his condition would probably become public knowledge are both way better options.” Zac sarcastically replied to his girlfriend’s best friend.

“Also, isn’t it kind of like kettle calling the pot black when you sling around the term furry?” Kelly also interjected into the conversation.

“Oh, we are so definitely not furries.” Sammy said in between sips from her drink. “I mean, we’re more zoomorphized rather than anthropomorphized. So we are like the opposite of a furry.”

“I’m sure there are people who would say otherwise.”

“Oh, come on.” Sammy said as they entered the apartment. “If I were to wear a toboggan and shove my tail down one of my pants legs, no one would be able to tell that I’m a cute as a button cat girl. It, on the other hand, looks like the child of Pasiphaë if she had lusted after a wolf instead of a bull.

“You’re being a little hard on him.”

“Am I?” Sammy asked her best friend, although this was less of a question and more of a way to express that she believes she was not being unfair.

After they took a few steps inside the apartment, the three of them noticed Ben was now awake. He seemed a little rattled, both because he woke up in some strangers’ house and because he was entirely naked besides for the blanket that saved some of his dignity. Kelly, since she was the nurse out of the three young metahumans, walked over to Ben and took a seat next to him on the couch.

“Are you feeling any better?” Kelly asked the young boy. She first placed the back of her hand against the boy’s forehead to see if he was running a temperature. When she found that, at least from what she could tell, he was not running a fever, Kelly then took Ben’s wrist and took his pulse. “Your pulse also seemed pretty normal.”

“It won’t be after I flay him.” Sammy joked after she had unsheathed her catlike claws on her fingers. However, any possible threat posed by her claws were betrayed by the fact that they had been painted with nail polished and received a manicure.

“Not helping, Sammy.” Kelly glared at her friend. After she chided Sammy, she turned her attention back to Ben. “Do you want to shower before we call your folks to come and get you?”

Meanwhile, Zac had been looking through some of his clothes when he found an old pair of shorts and a t-shirt. After taking these articles of clothing, Zac walked back to the living room where Ben had slept and toss them over to him.

“You can wear these until you get something else to wear.”
@NeutralNexus: Good post, NN.
@Byrd Man: Pretty much what Nexus and Spud said. I'm pretty sure around the time you posted your CS, I think all of us GM's got busy. We can take a look if you want.
Character you have created: Han Xia Wei / Viola Giordana
Alias: Blue Dragon

Accepted.

Seraph.

For "secret" back stories, you need to PM the GM's at least a short summary, just for approval. Unless NMS or Hound think otherwise, I feel this character falls under the "supernatural" characters category and therefore not acceptable at this time.
As I have already mentioned, I will not be able to post until Wednesday (Tuesday night at the earliest) because of some college related obligations. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Location: Hudson Valley Drive-in Movies, NY
Time: Night Time (1 am - 3am)

On that night, Zac, Kelly, and Sammy decided to enjoy a drive-in movie that was being shown less than 15 minutes south of Albany. Since they had taken Zac’s car, the three young metahumans decided to bring some yard chairs to the movie so that Sammy would not be regulated to the back seat, where the view would not be that spectacular. When the end credits finally began to roll at this twilight hour, the three of them began to pack up their blankets and chairs into the trunk of the car. Once everything was tucked away, they entered into the car and sat there, waiting for the traffic out of the drive-in theater to disperse so that they would not have to deal with such a headache.

Sammy sat in the back seat, peering out her side’s window as she finished her leftover popcorn. While Zac and Kelly were talking about whether or not they liked the two movies that they had just watched, was just lost in her head while looking out of the window. In the coming school year, the three of them would be college juniors, meaning that Zac and Kelly had been together as a couple for almost two years now. Considering how Zac reacted to Sammy’s continued obsession with Lyger, especially when he hinted that he could be gay, Sammy kept her thoughts to herself, wondering what it would have been like if he were there with her. However, something that she saw outside of the window shook her awake from her day-dreaming.

Ben shifted from his flat out run. His paws thumped and ripped up grass and dirt in his wake as he grinded to a slower pace, his figure appeared to be a large, dark mass moving through the shadows in the background. His chested and rattled for breathe, mist flowed from his muzzle covered in blood. The shot the officer did had burned the flesh, a gaping hole left in the shot’s wake. It broke the bone from the close distance muzzle flash causing the pup to feel nothing but pain, blood filled his scent causing him to dart away into the night. Thankfully, his regeneration ability had already started to mend the damage until no evidence remained.

After he shook the bullet from where it was lodge, his eyes shifted up to locate where he wound up. A drive-in, the grassy area nearly empty of all it visitors beside a few. Closer to the large viewing screen, a couple had moved toward it with their hands holding and giggling loudly catching Ben’s attention. His eyes jerked in their direction just when they vanished behind it. Quietly, he moved toward it.

When the werewolf began to approach that couple, Sammy was the first of the three friends to spot it, both because she had been looking out of her window and because of her enhanced vision due to her cat-like abilities.

“Um, what’s that?” Sammy suddenly asked, not entirely sure what the hairy creature was.

“What?” Zac replied, not sure what Sammy was looking at.

“That!” Sammy said as she leaned up between Zac and Kelly’s seats. At the same time that she spoke, Sammy pointed at the werewolf that had started to approach two other movie-goers.

“Is that a wolf?” Kelly said once she had at least spotted the werewolf.

“I think it’s a little too big to be a wolf.” Zac gave his opinion to his girlfriend. “We better take a quick look, just to make sure nobody gets hurt.”

Before the three of them exited the vehicle, Zac and Kelly deactivated their power-nullifiers, which both restored their metahuman abilities to them and also swapped out their civilian clothes for their superhero garb. Sammy, on the other hand, since her powers were not given to her by Doctor DIplodoc’s serum and therefore unable to be nullified by the same technology, remained in the clothes that she had been wearing. Once they had left the car and closed their doors behind themselves, the three young metahumans began to move towards the werewolf, trying to go at a pace that would not spook the animal.

Ben didn’t notice them at first. His head tilted and body sank into the ground, crawling forward at a slow rate. He shifted around a tree as his teeth pulled back, revealing his sharp teeth in a confused growl. The girl, a young blond, was screaming while she tugged from her boyfriend’s attempt to scare her. Conflict and the blood still lingering in his nose did little to help, Ben’s form pulled close until the girl spotted him. She let out a blood curling scream.

Ben’s ears pinned against his head, his throat growled and his hind legs bunched up underneath him. He jerked forward with teeth aimed at the woman’s throat on instinct.

When he had heard the woman screaming in terror, Zac immediately dashed forward, leaving Sammy and Kelly behind him. At a speed that even a cheetah would have a difficult time keeping pace with, Zac rushed towards the creature that was about ready to sink its teeth into that woman. Before it could even leap off the ground, Zac, who suddenly appeared, used his momentum to shove the creature off its feet.

“I recommend that you two get out of here, although I’m sure that you don’t need me to tell you that.” Zac suggested to the couple who had just been threatened by the werewolf. They, knowing that it wasn’t safe there, hurried away in panic back to their car. In the meantime, Kelly and Sammy finally arrived next to Zac after Kelly flew Sammy and herself to the epicenter of the woman’s scream.

Ben hit the ground hard. His head throbbed and dizziness stunned his thoughts over what happened briefly, his head attempted to shake off the effect. Growling and irritated, his forearms pushed off the ground while his legs balanced under him. With a small huff, he raised upright then turned toward the scent that collided into him. His nose inhaled. Strange, odd smells entered creating a mixture that fed his curious nature. The couple was immediately forgotten, his hands thumped to the ground when he jerked toward the nearest one: Sammy.

When she saw that the creature was beginning to go after her now, Sammy immediately turned and ran for her life. If the werewolf had not just a few minutes ago threatened that blonde haired woman, Zac and Kelly would have been amused by how cliche the situation was, where a canine was chasing after a cat-like metahuman in a circle around both the other other metahumans and the nearby tree. Sammy kept running as the werewolf kept snapping at her catlike tail until she quickly dashed over to the tree and used her catlike reflexes and abilities to scale the tree so that she could put some space between herself and the werewolf.

“Stay away!” Sammy shouted from the branches of the tree at the werewolf after she had taken one of her shoes and threw it at the creature.

The werewolf’s hands smacked on the bark and propped against the tree, looking like an oversized puppy with his tongue hung out and panting at the figurative cat he chased upwards. His tail wagged, whipping side to side, as he tried to jump up part the way. His muzzle came into contact with the first shoe causing him to yelp. He then dropped to all fours and rubbed the pain from his still tender nose, his hand like paw wiped the dry blood crusted there away. Snorting, Ben tilted his head up at Sammy and then looked at the tree with a interest. Without much warning, he charged at the bark once more to climb upward enough farther than before. His jaws just inches from the metahuman’s foot.

Now that the werewolf was getting even closer to Sammy, Zac and Kelly knew that they had to intervene. Since Zac’s first tactic, rushing up with his speed and shoving the creature aside, had not worked, he knew that they needed to try something different.

“After I rush up to it and slam it against the tree, I need you to sting it.” Zac told his girlfriend.

“But we don’t know what it will do to it.” Kelly protested, remember how her wasp’s sting knocked out one of the mercenaries who had kidnapped herself and Zac almost a year ago.

“Sammy doesn’t have the time for us to debate that.” Zac responded. He then dashed forward and slammed into the werewolf’s back, just like a football player who was throwing a block into the back of a defender. However, it was obviously not a penalty here. Kelly, knowing that the creature was after her best friend, collected herself and hurried over to her boyfriend.

“I’m so sorry about this! Kelly apologized to the werewolf before she stung it with her wasp’s barb, even though she did not even know if it could understand her. However, she did not sting it only once, but a couple times, for good measure.

Ben yelped loudly. His figure wormed from Raptor’s pin as the wolf twitched, his eyes widened in pain and shock. The moment Zac shifted back away from him, the werewolf fell to his side. His body twitched and shifted, the fur seemed like something was moving underneath it. His size shrank greatly from its original bulk, his hands scratching at his skin. Pieces of fur ripped off, revealing bloody and fresh skin peeking out from under it, before Ben became still. Sounds of bone started to crack while his muzzle shifted and shrank, once more becoming a human nose and a face one of the teenagers would recognize when they moved the fur covering him.

The three metahumans were surprised at how the creature reacted to Kelly’s wasp sting. When Zac bent down and nudged the boy that only a few moments ago had been the wolflike creature, he saw that some of the boy’s fur began to fall off, almost just like the needles of the poor Christmas tree that Charlie Brown had picked for the Christmas pageant.

“There is something familiar about him, although I can’t quite place my thumb on it.” Zac pondered aloud.

“What are you talking about?” Sammy said as she finally climbed down the tree since the werewolf had been knocked out. “Let’s just call the police or the pound and let them handle him.”

“I don’t think they’re quite prepared for something like this.”

“Does he kind of resemble the District Attorney down in New York City?”

“Maybe a little, although it is still kind of dark out.”

“Don’t you two realize that it was just chasing me!” Sammy complained in vain to deaf ears.

“For all we know, he might have been affected by Doctor Diplodoc’s formula, just like us.” Zac said, “I have heard reports about some fish products being contaminated with his serum after Thunderbolt dropped one of the the dome-producing devices into the Atlantic Ocean.”

“I assume that there probably are people out there who did not have as easy of a transition as we did.”

“I’ll grab one of our blankets. Being caught carrying a naked, underaged boy is the last thing I want to happen.” Zac said before heading back to his car to retrieve the blanket.

“Well, I call shotgun because I am so not sitting next to him.” Sammy said.
Still here, too. Just unsure what's going on the Hercules/Thor front.
Sorry I haven't gotten a post up in a while. I just have some important school stuff I need to focus on over the next week or so. I'll try to get something up whenever I have some spare time.
