Current That isekai idea works until you take into account the advanced part and include things like AI, brain machine interfaces, etc. Knowledge can just be downloaded.

Unless you love kids a little too much, then a prison sentence is what can be done about it.

Make it clear Beguiling Light is an offense ability in the CS and he’s fine by me. Wait for @KoL’s opinion.

@ZAVAZggg

I like him. He’s accepted by me, though wait for @KoL’s final judgement. Seeing as no one has really mentioned Heaven too much in their CS, more than likely your interpretation of it will be the common one within the world and applicable to characters; that being a machine-like Heaven. There’s nothing to contradict it so far among other characters. As for your question.

Humanity still uses traditional medieval/fantasy levels of tech, however there is also the incorporation of magic. Furthermore, other species do exist, those deemed a non-threat to humans. As for greater supernatural forces, there are perhaps some, though most are given form through belief and worship. While Heaven exists, that doesn’t mean every human acknowledges them. Those who do are granted divine boons and whatnot.

Okay cool. That helps me envision the world a bit better.
@TheWindel
Questions, what is humanities current tech level? And do they have any form of good supernatural forces on their side? I.E. non fallen angelic beings and such?
@Not Fungus
Your character seems mostly alright for me. Just a question, his Soulful Light ability heals wounds or just cleanses him/others?

@ZAVAZggg
I wouldn't worry too much about trying to fit your character to or having them fit themselves to yours. The premisse of the story and very nature of the Abyss make it so that beings that shouldn't coexist are able to. Since time and space mean little to nothing down there.

That aside, the only form available for his Quintessence is that of a sword, right? You mention that in the weapon section but don't make it clear enough in the ability section.

Ah, yes it is. Flaming sword particularly. I'll make an edit to the ability section for clarity.

EDIT: Changed made.
@TheWindel

Well here's my CS. Let me know if anything needs to be changed.

Listen dude I'm gonna be real with ya here, you're thinking on this way too hard. There's no precedent being set here, no background lore you gotta follow strictly, you have full creative control in how you ended up in the Abyss. You can be thrown in the Abyss by anyone, anything, any society, literally whatever. You don't gotta make things so complicated, just say God threw you down to earth for angel crimes, then humans threw you into the Abyss for war crimes or something.

Eh, you're right. Just want to make sure it doesn't screw up what someone else already wrote or anything, that's the main concern. But I suppose I should at least get a sheet up before I worry about that.
<Snipped quote by ZAVAZggg>

Not necessarily. Most of the time it's humans who cast people into the Abyss. As for the Pretender, I read it as implication that it was heroes/humans who did the actual casting instead of gods. Was that actually the case, @Heyitsjiwon?

Huh. Well I can see that happening for a great deal of creatures, but generally for angels and such to be fallen, it's usually because they rebelled or were cast out of their former heavenly or celestial abode and cut off from the one that made them, which is why I'm finding it somewhat difficult to write lore for Azrael as I kind of want to follow that formula but also want to avoid stepping on anyone's toes.

EDIT: I suppose I could go with a Council of Angels thing, but then the issue of lore becomes even more pressing because there is no common base as to what angels are, can be, or how they might be structured hierarchy wise.
@ZAVAZggg

We do currently have a Fallen Angel already, if that helps narrow things down.

It does somewhat, although not knowing which god specifically cast down beings like the Pretender into the Abyss makes writing lore a bit tricky. I mean I assume the gods were the one's who threw all of our characters down there to begin with.
Now comes the hard part...

Finding a good human form.

You and I both, buddy.
