Seeing actual bushfire footage looks straight out of Hell... It moves so quickly and so powerfully, literally the trees just ignite. You firefighters are absolute legends, but please, don't die.

Welcome to my little personal den of Hell! Sorry, sorry, I meant my personal profile. Same thing, right?
I'm a roleplayer, same as any around here. I've been doing it for about five years now, coming up to six in September. Its been quite the time, thinking back. I started out fresh as can be, understanding the basics of writing but never quite knowing how to become better, or become as great as those around me. In the end, I did the only thing I really knew at the time:
Write as much garbage as possible and hope for the best!
As you can see, that particular tactic fucking failed. Jokes aside, I like to think I've developed a lot over the years, both as a writer and as a person. However, absolutely nothing can dissuade my weeaboo ways and supporting my OTP with all that I can freaking muster! If you haven't already guessed, said OTP is Chrom x Robin (Chrobin) from Fire Emblem: Awakening. Highly recommend the game, there's a reason (other than nintendo's cheapskate attitude) that it hasn't dropped in price, it's honestly the best place to start off in the series. And hey, maybe you'll end up addicted like me and want to buy every game on the 3DS like a fucking loony?
Speaking of loonies, the Fire Emblem Chrobin Comic Dub Project has recently finished, so for those of you who also appreciate the best ship in existence, I highly recommend it. Hell, even if you're not interested in that, I do highly recommend watching it for those into fantasy love stories. The quality improves drastically with each episode, so trust me when I say by the end of it you should be thoroughly impressed. It has helped motivate me in ways I can hardly describe with words, and so I thought the least I could do was put this out there. Maybe it's not for everyone, but I know it was the perfect thing for me.
"Do you think you can tip any of the scales in here?" "Chrom, for the love of Naga, I'm thinking..."
"So I heard."
"There are better places to take a nap than on the ground, you know."
There is a universe. No-one knows it's name, where gravity wasn't strong enough to bind matter together and no stars formed. And because no stars formed, no stars exploded. And because no stars exploded, no planets came about. And because no planets came about, there was no life.
There's another universe, no one knows it's name, where gravity was strong enough and did light the stars and planets came about and boy, they were gorgeous, planets in perpetual winter, planets in perpetual summer, planets that could rival the Garden of Eden and no bloody snakes! And on one of them, eventually, complex life evolved and one of the species developed large brains learned things like manners and dabbing, when they looked up at the stars and wonder what they were doing here. You called them octopuses, I suppose. Gosh, they were clever, for octopuses, and one of them, several million years in, almost wrote something in ink on the seafloor, a message to its friend. And the message almost read: "Hi! How are you?" And a few millennia later, space folder back on itself and, you get the idea. Goodbye Octopi.
There's another universe, where life formed on every planet, in every solar system, and it was carbon-based, it was silicon based, it was made of crystals and water and plasma, it was made of quantum fields and light, and everything was alive, everything was doing a boogie, and it was everybody's birthday, everyday, relatively, and everyone got presents, and they had over a trillion languages, some written down, some only spoken, some conducted telepathically, and they bought a galactic civilization together, as a perfect unity, sharing stories, sharing technology, speaking a common tongue, understanding everything about how the cosmos been put together. And finally, when everything was sorted, the galaxies were arranged into perfect geometric formations, transmitting pure love, and wisdom, and birthday greetings to all species in the universe, for all time. Papercuts never happened, coke came in glass bottles, no one even remembered the word for war, everything was beautiful and nothing hurt.
And yet, for a quirk in their evolution, because resources weren't scarce enough on the planets these species developed on, not a single creature in the universe was conscious. Food was eaten and no-one enjoyed it. Movies were released, and there was no laughing, or crying. No-one chuckled at a joke. Ever. Space collapsed back on itself, eventually, and there hadn't been a single moment of sentience in the entire history of creation.
There's another universe, where the strong force is too strong the weak force is too weak and nothing forms. Another, where life develops too late when the Stars have all gone beyond the light boundary and there's nothing to even see. Another with too many dimensions. Another with not enough. Another where time goes in the opposite direction, and species begin as gods, and wind backwards to cells, and never learn to survive. Another that only lasts milliseconds, and collapses in on itself, and heads straight back to oblivion. And that's how it just might be, across all possible universes, across all possible space times. Problems with the laws of nature, not enough resources, missteps in evolution. An atlas of dead-ends.
Then again, there is one exception.
There's another universe, a big one, where life is rare, where intelligent life is very rare indeed, the stars are very distant from each other, the laws of nature are very complex, it's extremely lonely for any species developing, and most never even develop at all, but somewhere, we believe, is a planet where the oceans are vast, and the climate is varied. Where the smartest species on the planet may have developed just the right mix of ambition and kindness. And if you were to travel there, to this unbelievably rare statistical anomaly, to this impossibly lucky planet, where evolution, biology, chemistry, nae, the laws of physics themselves have come together to create sentient intelligent life, you may be able to catch the native inhabitants singing for joy. Of what an impossibly lucky, and rare position they find themselves in. It is a chant of gratitude, a ritual of showing appreciation for ending up in perhaps the one universe, in the one solar system, on the one planet with all the basic ingredients for intelligent, conscious life.
I'm good with whoever, though as Raissa said, she'll be pretty useless for the older two daughters ^-^ So don't expect her role in those assassinations to be large ones :3
Name: Locket Lenny McCain Aliases: Lenny, Cain, McCain Age: 19 Place of Origin: Azure Gate's Lower Districts Gender: Male Speciality:Cannon Fodder Trickery and Intellect Roles & Rank: Knight 2nd Rank, Stealth Division
Physical Attributes
Height: 5'11 Weight: 84kg Build: Athletic, but thin Eyes: Orange Hair: Green Skin Tone: Pale as marble Tattoos/Scars/Piercings: N/A Day To Day Attire: Long-sleeved shirts are essential to his attire, no matter what. These are almost always accompanied by pants too large to properly fit him (in other words baggy), and a necklace with a missing jewel. Depending on other factors, he may also be tempted to wear a coat if it's raining or some head wear if it's especially hot. Gloves have a near-religious value to him, refusing to take them off unless absolutely necessary, and comfortable leather shoes usually finish his attire. He doesn't care much for colours, though, so expect some... odd combinations. Strengths: He's quick with his reflexes, and his instincts are sharper than his mind, making him quite the nimble fighter. He's also quite accurate when it comes to throwing things. Weaknesses: Though he's fast, he can also be impossibly loud, most of the time unintentionally. Despite being a member of stealth-based operations, you may still consider him a rookie at the stealth part, which really makes one wonder how he even got the cut. Locket's physique is a bit frailer than most, and though he's stronger than your average Joe, almost all other knights would outclass him in terms of strength. Locket's body is also terribly susceptible to disease and illness, and he's a little too stupid for his own good. Lastly, his stamina is rather poor; though he can handle quick bursts or drawn-out walks with ease, any extended physical strain will cause Locket to fall to his knees and probably start vomiting.
Psychological Attributes
Optimistic * Social * Smart-arse * Idiot
Sexuality: He'd have you believe he's straighter than a broadsword, however he honestly doesn't know nor care. Love is love, right? Relationship Status: Single and wantin' to mingle! Excuse his pervertedness... Personality: Locket is... well, very outgoing. He's very social with those around him, though that generally leads to the point of annoyance. He's rather arrogant and proclaims himself better than others in private, though doesn't dare say so around people he knows are stronger than he. Shifty and always with a trick up his sleeve, Locket is a quick-thinker, even if his mind doesn't retain that much information in the first place. He's got a sharp tongue on him, something which hasn't fixed with age, and is notoriously vulgar, even in the presence of royalty.
Yes. He tried to hit on the queen.
If you manage to get on his good side, he can make for a good friend. Despite being a bit of an ass and loving to tease others, he always looks to the bright side of things, and can act as an excellent source of positivity for those around him. Though his views on the world are often simple and unrefined, his simplistic and easy-going nature is perfect for those feeling the burdens of stress or anxiety, as he is apparently incapable of overthinking things. Confident to a fault, the man is also somewhat charming (depending on your definition), always doing his best to advance a relationship. However, he has absolutely no problem simply making friends, though don't expect him to stop making perverted remarks. Despite this, he can still be embarrassed through sultry or cute acts, and can become so flustered he can't make proper sentences.
He treats his foes with a joyous smile, and treats their death as 'business' or 'means to serve a greater cause'. Those who threaten people he's friends with (or closer) tend to bring out the worst of him, though, as his cocky arrogance and wit tends to overwhelm him in an effort to taunt the enemy. When those close to him are even remotely injured, Locket can develop a dangerous, rage-induced mental state, pushing himself to the absolute brink in order to hurt the person who brought harm to aforementioned person/s. As one might expect, this generally has severe repercussions later, be it disobeying orders to physical wounds and vomiting (sometimes vomiting blood). Overall he's human, and lives just like one.
He can also be a cunning liar. Habits: Lying. He tends to do it unintentionally, like an automated reaction. In most instances he'll play this off as a joke, however, and state the truth. Or another lie. Locket also tends to find himself marveling the stars at night, being something of a star-gazer, and will almost always go out in the middle of the night to do just that. It also shuts him up pretty well. Bears a shit-faced grin as a past time. Tends to mutter things about the Aura Stone when alone... Hobbies: Star-gazing, boob-gazing, being a jackass, and tricking people for fun. Basically he likes being a professional child. Fears: He fears failure. More specifically critical failure, where peoples lives or something just as important is at stake. He can't stomach especially gruesome scenes, and fears them as much as he can hurl, bringing back some... much unwanted memories. More than anything else, however, Locket has an incredible fear of children. It's hard to understand why, but their presence tend to make him afraid and want to run away. Likes: Ladies, Girls, Women, Babes, Chicks, and Lasses. He also likes nerdy talk about space, drinking, talking, being a trickster, and helping those who need it. Dislikes: Children, old people, fancy noble speech, broccoli, serious people, and people who don't agree with him.
Skills
A listing of skills, such as horseback riding or cooking. Levels include novice, apprentice, journeyman, expert, master.
Fleet-Footed (Expert): Locket is good on his feet. From hanging upside-down on the top branch of a tree to walking across planks to cross buildings, Locket is perfectly capable in the movement department. He's swift, nimble, and has one Hell of a kick!
Talking (Apprentice): OK, yes, this isn't much of a skill, however it still somewhat counts. Locket tends to have this certain way with people when he speaks, especially among commoners, that's incredibly understandable and friendly (usually), if a little rude. He can chat up a storm on your favourite topics, and is a great source of social interaction. Good at cheering people up, too!
Swordsmanship (Journeyman): The moron isn't so dumb he swings the sword at his allies, at least. He's actually quite the swordsman, though is more of an apprentice level without his improvising skill, being fairly capable, but far from amazing.
Improv! (Journeyman): The title isn't quite what the skill would lead you to believe. Put simply, this is how well Locket can fight dirty. And yes, he's quite good at it. From carrying small blades on his person to kicking dirt in the enemy's face, Locket has conjured quite the dishonourable fighting style to make up for his lack of strength. It might be dishonourable, sure, but it works!
Locksmith (Novice): Now before you start calling him a thief, locksmithing is a professional business for professional people! Though it does have it's uses, knowing how to crack into a chest or through a door...
Throwing (Apprentice): Locket has a pretty good throwing arm on him, which is useful considering how many things he carries on his person which is throw-able. From knives to dirt to explosives (small ones, mind you) to stones, Locket is able to throw things quite accurately up to about 20 meters, give or take. His furthest throw was more along the lines of 60-70 meters with a small rock, though it was by no means accurate.
Talents & Powers
A listing of unique talents, magic, or posscessions. Royalty and Knight Commands may have two major and two minor. Knights 1st rank may have one major and two minor. Knights 2nd rank may have two minor. Knights 3rd rank may have one minor. Nobles may have one minor.
Pockets (Gear/Minor) Put simply, Locket has a lot of pockets for his combat attire. Now that might not sound like much, and it honestly isn't meant to be, however it allows Locket to carry around lots of small things. From odd morsels to spikes, daggers to wire, Locket needs a lot of extra items to complete his arsenal. These extra pockets allow that. In terms of actual armour, it has but a thin wire mesh coat within which helps stop most weapons from piercing too deep into Locket's skin, without sacrificing mobility.
Sixth Sense (Talent/Minor) Locket doesn't even know why his instincts are as fine-tuned as they are. However, they certainly have their uses in combat. He feels like he can sense those around him, like he can low-key feel their aura, and thus tends to know if people are behind him or what moves they make moments before they're made. This ability has a range of about 10 meters, and only applies to living things, the ability getting stronger the closer an opponent is. He can't sense an arrow flying straight at him, for example, as it's too fast and non-living.
History
Parents: Unknown Siblings: Sister, two brothers - both brothers are dead, and his sister missing. Childhood: It... wasn't a very enjoyable childhood, at least to start with. Sure, things started well: Locket was the youngest of the four McCain siblings, his sister as the oldest and following were his two older brothers. Locket wasn't old enough to know who his parents were, but knew they left the family, and that they were alive. The siblings all got along and childhood seemed rather OK, at least, up until his sister's sudden... change. Locket wasn't even sure himself whether it actually happened or if it was some fucked up nightmare, the only thing tying the memory to the present being the jeweless necklace which he was handed to in the memory by his sister, whom had recently murdered his two brothers. But even then, he feels it could be just part of some terrible nightmare, seeing as all the memories afterward are of relative normalcy growing up with adoptee parents. For some reason, whenever he thinks back to the cruel memory, a thought always sparks in his mind:
'I must find the Aura Stone.'
At the same time, however, his sister's voice always pleads, without fail:
"Do not look for the Aura Stone...! Please...!" Adulthood: Nothing of note, really. Aside from joining the knights. Special Moments: His mind constantly relives that memory, always with more questions than answers. Who to trust? Why the Aura Stone? Why did his sister kill Locket's brothers, yet not him? Other than that, he also constantly has his mind in the gutter... Current Events: Locket wants to get to the Aura Stone. He's not sure why exactly, but he feels it will shed some light on his past. In order to do so, he has joined the knights and hopes to one day become a Commander, so he may gain an audience with the stone.
♥ Adelina Why are all the hot women lesbian in the kingdom?! That much Locket will never understand. However, he feels incredibly compelled to change her views and to take him for the incredibly sexy man that he is! Of course, he knows he'll probably fail, but hey, he could settle for friends if it brought more time with her.
☯ Samuel Locket doesn't have much of an opinion on Samuel. He'll give him credit for being a damn good shot with a bow, though.
⚜ Kolburn She scares the shit out of him.
☯ Eliza Not only lesbian, but also taken, Locket has been unable to really get a chance to speak with her. Still, she seems nice! He feels they'd make good friends.
☠ Celosia Trying to appeal to the queen after making an ass of himself will likely only come with hard work and persistence. She's his biggest obstacle to the Aura Stone, be it in combat or appealing to her. Either way, Locket knows he's probably screwed. He has to admit though, she's hot for a cougar.
☮ Arthur He likes the guy, despite the fact Arthur probably doesn't even know who he is. One of the few nobles Locket can actually stand. Tries to make a good impression, but usually fails horribly.
☮ Willow Locket reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally wants to be friends with Willow, for a couple of reasons. Not only would it give him a friend in the royal court, but also because she's ADORABLY CUTE! Due to the fact she's mute, Locket doesn't get as embarrassed as he normally would, and wishes to help the girl be a bit more outgoing and fun-loving, noting her incredible shyness. He feels she has a hidden prankster hidden deep within, and wants it to unleash!
Extras (Optional)
Character Quote: "I love you, lady Adelina!"; "Aye, I don't have a 'funny way a' talkin', thank you!"; "DON'T cockblock me!"; "Why are all the hot women lesbians...?"; "I know I fight like bastard - what would you expect from one?"; "The stars... I want to reach them... There's limitless potential out there - I want to see that potential in action."; "Sorry sir! Won't happen again! Probably... Err, nothing, sir!" Theme Song:Divine Gate Aura Color: Purple - the perfect blend between the fiery red aflame with passion, and the cool blue of calm. His aura tells Locket has clear-cut objectives at play, however doesn't voice them - they're secrets. Scent: Assuming the dog wasn't knocked unconscious from the body odor, then the faint scent of perfume can be smelled.
The smokescreen was the perfect cover. Although Ren couldn't see if it had gotten to Shyn, she did know that she could make the most of it and keep Horsea guessing. "Shyn, go around the smokescreen the side your hair is parted on. Tackle the enemy when you're close enough." She wasn't going to make this easy for Oaken, nor Horsea. She already knew Shyn's hair was parted on the right-hand side, and thus knew he would be coming from that direction. It was a fifty-fifty chance whether Shyn could tackle Horsea; Ren hoped he could even tackle the seahorse into the smokescreen to make things even more complicated for Oaken's Pokemon. Oaken would need to plan ahead in order to counter Shyn's move, however even then there were many variables to account for.
Ren herself didn't pay much attention to Lucian's comment, other than a simple "Thank you." Her attention was solely on the battle at hand; the lesson had already been taught, so now she wanted to see how well Oaken fared not only under pressure, but also in his smarts. 'You always learn the little differences between Pokemon when you get to know them personally. This closeness is what separates the advanced trainers from the less-than. Let this be a test of things to come, Shyn, Oaken.'
Of course, being so proud of his fur, Shyn immediately understood what direction he had to go and charged all along the right-hand side of the smokescreen. Thankfully he was close enough to the other trainers that Horsea hadn't smoked him - after all, the last thing it would want is to blind it's trainer even more. Making sure not to run into the smokescreen, Shyn sped along the outside, prepared to pounce at a moment's notice...
I'll definitely make a character. Might not join immediately though if it takes up too much time ^-^ Shouldn't be too bad though. Lookin' forward to it!
@PlatinumSkink She's not planning to beat up the trainers XD but I understand the confusion. Shyn is using leer on the enemy Pokemon :D
Whoops! Should've read that in there :3 Sweet! Looking forward to any awkward phone calls between Ren and the others XD
And yeah I'm aware; generally Ren probably maybe won't fight trainers, not unless they make the first move c: she will, however, fight dirty. In some cases literally! (Ren used sand attack!)
There was no way Shyn could stop Tyrogue nor Horsea from attacking in time, nor could Houndour likely survive both their attacks. However, she could still possibly attain victory if she played smart, and if Lucian was willing to sacrifice his Houndour. Seeing their current predicament, she assumed he likely knew he had one last attack to make; once bubble and tackle both hit, it was probably over. But she hoped he had the guts to at least take down the Tyrogue before falling.
Ren decided she'd sweeten both their enemies up, just to make whatever came next that much easier for Shyn.
"Leer!" She ordered, and though Shyn followed the command immediately, one could tell from his eyes that even he was unsure if what his trainer had just done was right. "Hmph. Insolent idiot." The hooded young lady muttered to herself in response to Rodger's outbursts. 'Don't expect a dragon to play nice with you in the wild; you'll be thanking me for that bit of experience.'
@Rune_Alchemist YES! :D Just as heads-up, Ren will generally fight alongside her Pokemon (literally) when it comes to unofficial battles to come, because she feels it's unfair for her pokemon to shoulder all the fighting alone, not because she's a cheater. Of course, that won't stop her from getting into some rather physical altercations with some trainers :P But so long as there are rules at play, then you needn't worry about her doing too much.

I've been doing it for about five years now, coming up to six in September. Its been quite the time, thinking back. I started out fresh as can be, understanding the basics of writing but never quite knowing how to become better, or become as great as those around me. <br>Goodbye Octopi.<br><br>There's another universe, where life formed on every planet, in every solar system, and it was carbon-based, it was silicon based, it was made of crystals and water and plasma, it was made of quantum fields and light, and everything was alive, everything was doing a boogie, and it was everybody's birthday, everyday, relatively, and everyone got presents, and they had over a trillion languages, some written down, some only spoken, some conducted telepathically, and they bought a galactic civilization together, as a perfect unity, sharing stories, sharing technology, speaking a common tongue, understanding everything about how the cosmos been put together. <br><br>And yet, for a quirk in their evolution, because resources weren't scarce enough on the planets these species developed on, not a single creature in the universe was conscious. Food was eaten and no-one enjoyed it. Movies were released, and there was no laughing, or crying. No-one chuckled at a joke.
