Bio

Hello. I go by “Denalz” and I can’t wait to meet you! I’m a woman in her 30’s living in the Midwest and a published author of a successful fantasy romance series. I love to read books of all sub-genres under fantasy. Been roleplaying since I was 14 so I have a fair bit of experience. In addition, I like to DM for a group of friends in my home. Dungeons and Dragons for the win!

She sounds... depressed. More so than I anticipated from her CS..

Well, she did just loose her husband a few days ago. Hmmm, maybe I should update my CS to reflect this a bit more. The other side of this is her guilt. After all, she was kinda pleased to hear about this plague because she thought she could be the hero and further the COL's cause through it. Instead she lost her childhood sweetheart. I can imagine she would be experiencing a mixture of guilt, anger, and depression.

Am I being too dark and serious with this?

Also, I agree. A man like "The Master" is someone with a strong reputation who is probably known to some extent by most. Even if its just his name and people know him to be THE KingPin or Mafia Head (metaphorically speaking)
And Karen worships a goddess from a far away land, a goddess of night and sinners to be specific :3 Lot's of possibilities to interract. Like hey Sarah could try to convert Karen to the church of light.

There may be some attempts at conversion. But again, she's going to be a bit bitter at the start and likely will be trying to hold onto her own faith rather than convert others. Then again... It could be a form of projection for her to attempt converting others when its really herself who needs to be convinced.
We can take that extra week to think of additional subplots, relationships between characters, maybe even a shared history? Given that for example we have a Church of Light lady who went to the North to spread the faith.. it is unlikely but not impossible that Gawain and her have met at one point. Right? :P

It's possible. But I'm not sure what the extent of their relationship would be had they met prior. Sarah is a bit of a radical and very uncompromising. Gawain worships gods from both religions. This is something Sarah would find hypocritical and would openly condemn if her opinion was asked. Maybe even if it wasn't. Of course, this would have been prior to her widowhood. She's going to be rather shaken in her faith at least initially in this RP.

Not unless you really want a second character. The only reason I have two is because [SENTENCE REDACTED].

Well good, I always think it's difficult playing more than one major character since it's super likely that the two characters will need to react to each other on a regular basis.
By the way. everyone but Rivaan and I has two characters. Is this something I should be considering too?

I'm up to date on GoT.

Are you going to submit a character?
In reference to the argument, as Rivaan stated, we worked it out via PM. Thank you for the moderation however. As far as GOT goes, please don't spoil it! I am behind by two episodes and I'm only 1/3 way through the fifth book.
Religion is something I prefer not to argue/discuss about - it's finicky and unstable because deeds of one in the name of religion do not always coincide with the wants and wishes of the rest. As such you should condone the witchhunts themselves and see religion as a mere.. tool, to achieve these hunts. It doesn't mean religion is evil.

It means people are.

This comment explains why I find Rivaan's original post offensive. Acts committed by a few in the name of religion should not be a reflection of the religion itself. If someone wants to judge a religion, I suggest picking up the texts associated with that religion and performing an incredibly detailed and thorough study.

If someone holds that the acts of an individual can be used to judge a faith, then how about we spend some time talking about all the (far more common) good the Church did during the Dark Ages, feeding the poor, healing the sick, funding public infrastructure (schools, hospitals, ect), providing sanctuary, and last but not least, containing and caring for those infected by plague when others were too terrified to go near them.

But I suppose all of those things are less sensationalized and therefore too boring to mention. Should we instead simply say "The church wasn't on its best behavior... these sound like the kinds of people I kill in video games"?
Well I will apologize to anyone with a problem with my comment there. But everyone must admit that the church wasn't exactly on its good behavior during the dark ages.

So you apologize, but you are not wrong.... is that what I should take from this comment?
Nice~ and yeah religion such as the church of light is usually based on some kind of scripture that may or may not be entirely fictional and just created for the benefit of the church itself rather than it's followers :3 All that's missing is for it to have a witch hunt and we are free to point the reallife equivelent

Earlier back there was a brief discussion between the three of you guys about being careful not to offend anyone with even the very mention of rape. I respect this kind of sensitivity but I think it's worth noting that comments such as the one above could be equally offensive to ones who identify with the so called "real life equivalent".
It's actually really simple because DeviantArt has a "Pin" button on every picture page. It then goes straight to your pinterest account in your designated board. The great thing is that pinterest has a ton of other great stuff for writers besides just pictures. So you can have different categories of boards. Anyways, it's only a suggestion. I like mine, so naturally I must try to convert everyone around me.
