Current Remember, nobody actually enjoys roleplaying if there isn't at least five shameful fetishes uncovered by the 2nd page.

Somebody stole my mood ring. I don't know how to feel about it.

Let's be honest, it's far more satisfying and challenging to actually imagine what a character looks like than paste a hundred gifs of a celebrity and call it good.

So, a team of players who are good at playing as a team in a team-based game are individually bad players. Seems kind of silly when you put it like that, no?

My goal these days is to have an RP that can actually finish, or the very least, last a few years. I see way too many die on page one to take chances

Just checking.

So does this mean that even after doing the changes, I won't be accepted or?

Unfortunately, yes. The whole point of doing those reviews was to give an idea of what needed to be addressed, but we still only had limited spaces. As I may have mentioned before, I've tried RPs where I took in everyone who had sheets up to standards but it becomes a chaotic, bloated and stressful mess, and even the amount of players we're taking in this time around is only happening because I have 2 very solid coGMs to help manage it all.

As we have said the last couple of posts, if you're interested, we will keep a reserve so when an opening pops up, you and anyone else still interested will have first dibs!

It's always the crappy part when you have a player limit, you unfortunately have to pick and choose. D:

HOWEVER! Like Tricks said, if you're still interested in this when spots are opened up, we're going to keep a reserve roster and you guys will have first dibs on said spots!

I appreciate all the interest you put in, it's humbling!
GMs, I've updated Hazan's sheet. If you want it here, I can edit this post to include it.

No worries! We have the link, we'll check it over when we have a few minutes!

Annnd the deadline is here! We're going to finish up the reviews and let you guys know who we're accepting/ sacrificing to our volcano god ASAP!
@Dervish

No problem! It was an easy fix! And the flavor text I added is just pure flavor. A bit of reasoning behind things. A few emotional responses. And that ole "locket of your daughter and wife" trope. I love you trope.

Yeah. Some sites I've been on were more elitist that I would like. I mean, I love the written word in easy, digestible bites, but I do not want to read someone's literary novel. We got RP to make! Yeah, Iwaku's RPs didn't last long unless you were in the few that lasted forever. I was in one REALLY long one, but the GM got banned. So, like a year was the max I made it. Also, the GM was banned for totally understandable reasons. But yeah. Iwaku has HARD cliques. VERY HARD. Which was weird, because I love all genres.

Anyway, thank you for giving me the chance. This RP is super interesting, and I love scifi RPs. Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Fallout, and Elder Scrolls are the only fan Rps I love to join. But I do so with the fervor of a million suns. MILLION SUNS. So, like a universe ending event. That's cool.

My DnD group is hilarious. But sometimes so many things are happening that they ignore the puns. We did have a long conversation, once, but a character that had embedded her axes into a floating Grell. She was flying along with it. Yet, when she spoke about that, she always was like: "I'm IN the monster." Which led to a million jokes. Anyway, glad to see that my humor translates. Yas.

I LOVE the nickname. I made the nickname canon. "Red Dog" is on his armor. He doesn't know yet. And when he does... salt for days.

And, yeah, I totally understand creativity fatigue. Let your brain rest!
And thanks again.

PS: I found the wiki article that listed it. It's the Mass Effect Wiki, but not as prominent as the others. So, I'm NOT crazy. Also, I think it might be someone's opinions. >_>

Tropes are tropes for a reason. Just because something's common doesn't mean it can't be done convincingly. ;D

I will caution you I do like to occasionally bust out rather large posts/ collabs because I do quite get carried away when on a roll, but usually those big ones are collabs, so it's writing with 2-3 people and usually just flows oh-so-nice. And yeah, Iwaku was weird for me because stuff I'd try on that site had a hard time making it six months maximum, while here it's exceedingly hard to kill off games once they're established. Needless to say, it's easy to see what I prefer. People just need to know how much they can handle without being overwhelmed.

Plz don't heat death the universe. We got stuff to write. I'm actually running an Elder Scrolls RP right now in this very section! It's full, but keep your eye out periodically, it might have openings at some point.

And no need to thank me! I give everyone a fair shake. Honestly, I'd love to run a game with more than 10 extra players but I know from experience it's bloody murder trying to do that in a way that's meaningful to anyone unless it's a sandbox, which isn't my style. I try to make every character factor into the plot and be included, which gets super hard when you have games pulling in sixteen directions.

I got to pull my interest out, suffering a case of writer's block when it comes to trying to make a background story for my character, wish you all luck in this great roleplay though!

No worries bud! Sorry nothing shook loose for you, but thank you for trying and best of luck in your future games!
Finally posted! Much apologies for delays.

Also Meg volunteered as tribute.

Er. I mean to help Daro'Vasora and Sol.

Roze and I have a collab on the go, but I'll get you the link after work!
Contact the mods with links and documents showing it was your idea. Usually they'll help out. If they don't, you're kind of out of luck.
@Dervish
Thanks a bunch for the quick reply! And don't worry about it, that's why I figured I'd put the prompt up and ask! Evidently I ended up switching out the M-5 Phalanx for the Ushior and the Omni-Blade for a Firaan. Figured him brining his own gear would evidently in the end make more sense, probably, though honestly I could see it going either way. Would of switched out the Mattock as well, but from what I remeber and double checking on the wiki, we aren't introduced to an angara variant so the Mattock should do. (Could of just traded it out for an Isharay, but I don't really picture Anjor as a sniper rifle guy in my head for some reason...)

And yeah well the long and the short of it was that I sort of stumbled into a Jaal romance in my first play through without really intending to. Evidently, I ended up sort of falling for the angara after that primarily because of all the stupid adorable emails he sends you. That and from the admittedly little glimpse we get at their culture throughout the game, they are kinda fascinating. Biologically engineered by a race of mysterious precursors that peaced out and never returned, fighting a desperate war of survival. That and I mean their social hierarchies and dynamics actually reflect that of real life lions really well. So they aren't just giant talking space cats... they are giant talking space lions! And that I at least think is hella cool.

But of course! It's half my job to check up on this thing frequently. ;D The Mattock is fine; it's easy to consider a part of the liasion program, our opening bit has a training component so we can actually have him learning how to use the weapon there.

I'm doing my run as FemRyder ATM and I think I might go for Jaal, a lot for the reasons you mentioned. The angara are really fascinating and Jaal was just a great character altogether, I loved that scene where he takes you to his ridiculously large family to show you him childhood room like he's an excited kid again. It kind of gave me the impression he was forced to grow up way too quickly because of the kett and he lost a lot of the experiences we tend to grow out of. It was up there with movie night for me lol.

I didn't actually catch the lion dynamics! I'm going to have to play with that in mind to see what I pick up.

OH YEAH, EVERYBODY!

Don't forget your deadline is midnight MST (-7GMT) on Friday the 12th. That gives you a bit under 2 days, depending where you live!
@Xanadu I'm so glad someone applied with an angaran, and from the looks of things, you know your stuff! It occurred to me that I probably should have made an admenium that angaran characters can, of course, start off with angaran equipment. If you wish to use Initiative equipment as you specified, that's also fine! But feel free to switch it up, it was an oversight on my part because it's one of those things that are unique to the setting I failed to consider.
@Sofaking Fancy

Thanks for the prompt edits! I'll get to reading them over the next few days. The Alliance ranks I actually found on the Systems Alliance page on the Mass Effect Wiki, which is a really useful resource for that kind of stuff!

And of course! I know some sites out there can be kind of elitist or require proof that you're good enough, but honestly? That just scares people off and fosters a rather toxic atmosphere to a game. Way I see it, as long as somebody reads the OOC, has a good attitude and puts forth a great sheet, what's the difference between six days and six years?

A problem I had with Iwaku was how it subdivided every single RP by subgenre, so you had a really fragmented community and it was hard to get a game noticed. I also found the community was really bad at keeping games going. Stuff I would do on this site that last for years was lucky to make it six months on that site, and I have no idea why. Ultimately I came back here after RPG became stable and I haven't looked back.

And man, I make myself laugh all the time; it's both awkward and great. Your humour definitely translates over, it's something I definitely appreciated on your sheet! Your D&D friends clearly don't appreciate puns. They should be thrown out the airlock.

Oh shit, I totally wasn't thinking about the red hair when I wrote that, but that's excellent. ;D I'm glad you appreciate the nickname.

I'll get to re-reading everything that's been posted over the next little while, I need a mental break to collect myself before hitting this again. I don't want to half-ass it.
