In the field, he prefers a standard-issue jacket and pants with pockets and holsters to carry his kunai, sealing tags and weapon-scrolls.

—————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————▸ History:Nori was born the eldest son of Tsubaki and Suisen, the matriarch and patriarch of the Kyoku Clan, and that, he found himself being told ad nauseam, meant that honor was a birthright of his. The Kyoku clan’s numbers had always been small, and their reputation lay in their stolid competence, as opposed to any sort of prodigious talent. They had never been known to flourish, and in a way, this was what perhaps bound the clan so strongly to Amegakure and all its turbulent history. Even at Amegakure’s lowest, clan Kyoku kept faith with both the village and the profession of shinobi, staking their pride and honor through 18 Ancestral Weapons passed down the generations. the 18 ....weaponmen.... of the rain
They had always spoken of their history with a boisterous pride that was perhaps incongruent with their status they're cocky/arrogant?, but as a child Nori found the disparity inspirational, and their tradition of service an aspiration. Nori was molded early on to be Kyoku’s next offering to Amegakure’s crop of upcoming shinobi, and the child resolved himself to the responsibility quite happily. He attended the Genin academy, and found the experience joyous despite his middling aptitude; the Kyoku accepted his just-adequate performance, as their history had always cited hard work as a treasured fortune in and of itself, even bereft of astonishing accomplishment so they're more about whether or not some puts forth their best and tries their hardest even if they fail, rather than success being the only variable that measures competency. Besides, his father Suisen had been the rare ‘genius’ of the Kyoku, and Nori could find contentment living beneath his shadow.
His fortunes and happiness changed, however, when Suisen found that his hands no longer responded to his wills as they once did. In the short span of a month, Suisen - he who had mastered the 18 Arms of the Kyoku Clan - was no longer fit to master his own dining fork lmao, let alone his clan’s heirlooms. Despite the tragedy, Nori accepted that he would just have to continue his hard work, and make his clan’s offering to Amegakure in that way. probably put the pressure on Nori even more because he now had to live out his own life and (in part) that of his father, being the face of the clan in terms of shinobi now
The family, however, could no longer abide Nori’s labored mediocrity. Perhaps it was the clan’s insecurities, that they would no longer have a full-fledged jonin to offer their beloved village, or perhaps it was Suisen, who desired to live vicariously through a shinobi that displayed not half of his own talent. called it. great minds right? Nori had barely grasped the second of the Divine Arms before they hoisted Sakuhana, the clan's finest, upon him. Quickly, he found that living according to tradition, and beneath Suisen’s shadow, had become strangling endeavors. on the other hand he now has a badass Sakuhana so who really wins here? take that Kyoku morons
▸ Personality:✓ Diligent.While perhaps currently disillusioned with his life as a shinobi, Nori has grown up with the mantras of hard work instilled into him; he is tenacious and unyielding, if only by force of habit. could also be taken to mean that he's spineless and will put up with whatever his clan demands of him even if it's unreasonable -- going from barely knowing the 2nd heavenly weapon or whatever to the last one (which seems to be the one requiring the most skill) is a large step that probably doesn't come without problems and -- in all fairness -- can't be expected of a genin (but is expected of him anyway). putting up with something that, to any outsider, seems like a madmans chore, could have differing reactions from differing people. i like the duality therein though so definitely keep that✗ Anxious.The added pressure the Kyoku have hoisted upon him has done poorly for Nori's mentality; he finds himself fretting about even the day-to-day aspects of life.✓ Personable.Nori has never before found himself attempting to measure up to others - as a result, his lack of competitive spirit feeds into a naturally friendly demeanor. man sakana's gonna LOVE that✗ Uninspired.Nori's mantra has always been to 'work hard', although shinobi are perhaps best served in 'working smart'. He is not particularly creative, nor cunning. lets hope othres in his team are✓ Dutiful.Despite the toll it takes upon him, Nori recognizes that the Kyoku name has always existed to serve Amegakure. He will follow suit.✗ Prideful.Despite his current demeanor and resentment at his family's demands of him, Nori grew up listening to the stories of his family, and will react, perhaps disproportionately, to those who make light of them and his own efforts. oh man this is great Furthermore, his insecurities render him likely to perceive slights where they do not exist.

▸ Description:Nori is capable of storing vials of syrupy substances within tags, and append said tags unto surfaces, or weapons such as kunai and the arrows summoned alongside his Yumi. When the seal is released (through the hand seal 'Snake'), the syrup is released in a short radius, and hardens promptly, potentially impeding factors such as movement and sight. so the effect isn't typically syrupy (it doesn't like... make you sticky) but rather it harders out? interesting choice
▸ Weaknesses:Unless delivered via projectile, a degree of misdirection is needed to make adequate use of the technique. Otherwise, the seal takes a brief moment to 'release', a window of time in which to evade kawarimi no jutsu makes that a breeze -- this tag would likely only work once and after that, enemies would probably know what'd happen and be extremely aware of it. Given enough reaction speed, a large amount of the syrup can be swiftly removed before it hardens. Finally, the hardened substance can be removed through careful application of force.18 Lovely Divine Arms

In combat, the Bow is typically used from a position of stealth and surprise. To maximize the tactical impact of the critical first shot, Nori will typically append an explosive tag or his Water Release: Syrup Bomb unto his arrow. great
Second Divine Arm: Chukabocho (Chef's Knife)

▸ Description:A metal polearm of about two meters in length, culminating, in a single-edged curved blade. Ultimately, the weapon is straight-forward enough, save for its singular gimmick; with the click of a switch located where the wielder’s dominant hand would typically be, the polearm ‘telescopes’, rapidly extending about another meter in length for the purposes of a surprise strike. man i've wielded naginata's irl and having something like this would be fucking lethal. i love it It can be retracted through similar methodology.
Eighteenth Divine Arm: Sakuhana (Blooming Flower)
▸ Type:
▸ Description:A ‘chain’ of three meters length, culminating in a weighted spherical head at both ends. The material make of the meteor hammer is particularly intriguing, the chain being crafted from what seems like the hardened stem of a plant, and the hammer-heads six violet flower petals folded into eachother. At a base level, chakra must be flowed through Sakuhana, to render the materials as sturdy and strong as battle-ready steel. With more advanced proficiency, chakra may be funneled into the weapon to unlock its full functionality; both the chain and the hammer-heads can be enlarged to triple their length and volume, thus maximizing their destructive potential.
Usage of this weapon is particularly taxing, as it requires constant chakra expenditure - Nori is currently, in fact, unable to safely wield the weapon for longer than three minutes. i'd say he can't wield it at all at the start except for holding it -- this unlocks some area of growth that isn't just the increase of the number 3 to the number 5 -- but rather it is a meaningful step forward for your character as he goes from barely being able to hold the thing correctly to being able to maybe swing it above his head and whack some bad guy in the face Furthermore, exposure to flames will ignite the weapon, causing it to wither into the ruined remnants of a plant stalk (the weapon can be regrown with careful application of chakra, but this is a process that takes at least a week). cool -- gimmicky, and refreshing after i've had to review so many bad weapon styles in the past roleplay's i've done.

Her jetblack hair is often tied in a bun, with two bangs framing her face evenly. Her eyes are dark and her long eyelashes make them rather distinct to look at.

—————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————▸ History:The Igarashi clan is not a glorified clan, they are not rich and their situation is the same as any other clan that lives within Amegakure good -- even the richest clan are still dirt poor compared to Konohagakure's elitist gang of noble bandits. They struggle, but they get around by possessing a selection of good, reliable and well-known shinobi under their name; The Igarashi, otherwise referred to as the Storm-clan of Amegakure, have been serving the same village for many years and will likely continue to do so for the remaining eternity. Their loyalty is their most precious trait and it lies totally and completely within Amegakure: It was enough to put a number of their members into a secretive organization known as Atarashi no Shugo-sha (嵐の守護者), the Stormguardians - some may claim that the organization's name was even derived from their clan itself, but that's merely a rumor and has been never confirmed it's not but keep patting yourself on the back.
The birth of Igarashi Aoi was celebrated as per tradition, every child born under a heavy storm will be celebrated because a bright future awaits - even though bright days are extremely rare to come by in their hometown give yogensha enough money and she'll ease up on the rain tiger at will technique. Her parents, Chouko and Nao, had been together for four years and she was their first child. Her childhood was quite uneventful, her parents managing to take good care of their newborn and were able to see their child become healthy - however, the Igarashi is known for rigorously training their shinobi since very young i'd hate to see this be a recurring theme since this is the 2nd character but i suppose it matches both clans so far and Aoi was no exception. She first stepped into their training grounds at the age of five - her parents weren't very comfortable with it, especially because Chouko was not an Igarashi nor a shinobi and thus she found their rigorous methods difficult to watch, but her father affirmed her that their children had a grand future. She was, after all, born during a heavy storm. ITS FATE
Years have passed and Aoi had shown great premise. She was disciplined, well mannered, educated and even quiet - the last trait was somewhat uncommon in the Igarashi bloodline as they were known to be stern, selfish and 'loud as storm' caring only about themselves and their peers, but the head of the clan claimed that after every storm, a bright sun might show itself - referring that even in the midst of a clan known for their stern manners, a gentle or quiet soul may appear. Their fighting techniques and hiden clan techniques were taught very early to the young Aoi and she seemed to grasp them with ease. Their Arashiken (Storm Fist) was a technique that seemed to be brutal and merciless, but to use it effectively one needed to be fluid and gracious so basically it's the gentle fist style to Kumogakure's otherwise ridiculously not-fluid and not-gracious raiton? i like. Often, the clan's technique was called Arashi no ryūtai idō 嵐の流体移動 or "Elegant dance of the Storm" because their users literally appear to dance as they delivered powerful blows with their fists. mow we're crossing into gay territory
Aoi always seemed to enjoy the training as stern and rigorous as it was. It helped her graduate as one of the top members of her class, becoming a genin at the age of 13. She's anxious to go out on missions and aid the village in any way she can - after all, the clan's loyalty was also taught to her and the young kunoichi followed it like religion. good. expect a visit from the Atarashi no Shugo-sha
▸ Personality:✓ Loyalty.The Igarashi are known to be extremely loyal and this loyalty is apparently passed by the clan to their members.✗ Insensitive.The Igarashi's rigorous training leaves no room for sympathetic feelings towards the weak or the meek, Aoi does not concern herself with others well being. ouch, reading this gave me a papercut from the edginess owo✓ Disciplined.A rigorous training led her to become very disciplined and obedient. basically she's the sensei's pet✗ Impatient.Similarly to the reason above, a rigorous training - which she has enjoyed throughly her early life - led her to become very eager and interested in her own development. If she feels that someone or something is staggering her growth, she will not hesitate to voice it.✓ Independent.Aoi will hardly if ever rely on someone else to get through any hardship, she will not deny help, but she will always try to solve things on her own. She wants to become strong so that she may directly interfere with Amegakure's fate, as she firmly believes that her home village should not be ignored by the bigger nations now we're talking as it falls into poverty and misery mostly the misery is the cause of economical loss -- war creates loss and loss creates economical failure. but yeah i get the point - it is her main motivator to take up the task of proving the world as a whole that Amegakure can be as succesful as any other nation, if not even more, simply because their will is as consistent as the ever falling rain and as poweful as the booming storm that looms over them.

▸ Description:This style of fighting is inherently present in members of the Igarashi clan. The name is because this fighting revolves around utilizing lightning to amplify the damage of their taijutsu strikes - but not only that, their movements are fluid and elegant, with the graceful of rain yet with the impact of a storm. They are precise and lethal and leave no room for mercy, when an Igarashi strikes, electricity generated from their chakra at the tip of their fingers or knuckles passes ot their foes' body, causing an effect of numbness which leads them to believe that the strike was either weak or caused no harm simply because the pain was nullified. Dangers lies in their strikes when the electricity causes muscular spasms and contractions or more dangerously when it causes neurological damage and loss of conciousness. hmmmm.... so it's like having a finger with no feeling in it -- holding your finger in the fire won't hurt you but it'll still burn, making it dangerous because you won't realize when you're literally being burned up.. i like it
The Arashiken has many other techniques derived from it and they all excel in offensive, with the occasional defensive technique. They are masters of nintaijutsu and the strength of their style lies in how it is used by those who utilize it - Aoi is adequate at most, as her training is far from done.
▸ Weaknesses:This is a fighting style and not a technique on it's own. ... yes but there are still weaknesses -- how can i surpass the fighting style? what are areas it falls short on? its super fluid but how does it deal with another super fluid fighting style? how would it hold up vs. say the gentle fist style?

The chakra usage for this technique is extremely high, meaning that it is mostly used as a last resource, or a way to attack a large number of foes at once. that means that you can't spam it

Through electricty, the user kneads lightning chakra and uses it to create a magnetic field that deflects metal weaponry with extreme effectiveness in all sides around them. Once the technique is cast, an electric barrier raises around the user, weapons caught will float around them and once they end it, they will fall to the ground. ... but non metallic weapons are not stopped -- which means if i smack you with an umbrella, you're still gonna get hurt

This technique, while seemingly just a direct way to approach a foe, seems to make the user capable of responding extremely well to their newfound speed and even to threats with ease .. time slows? no to that, the rest is fine - but it only lasts for a few seconds before the electricty wears off.

—————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————Metsumi was born to the main family of the Shiru clan the clan has branches?, the eldest daughter of Kizu and Honō Shiru, the clan Patriarch and Matriarch respectively. As is the case with most children of the Shiru clan, Metsumi's childhood was unpleasant and difficult, trained in the home rather than at the Genin academy and subjected to a cruel training regime specially devised to hone her ability with Fūinjutsu, as well as to prepare her for preserving the clan Hiden something that came to mind -- maybe they use a fuinjutsu like the cursed hyuga mark to protect their hiden. we have some evidence of speech-impeding seals from Root, so it's not entirely unlikely, if not downright expected that these guys have a similar fuinjutsu that stops clan members from teaching the skill to others.. The methods used by the clan in their training are not known by most; but what is no secret are the effects it has upon their young. Most Shiru children from both the main and branch families are known for their skittishness, hyper-vigilance, and tendency to suffer abrupt panic attacks. Metsumi, either by happenstance or intent, went through the secret clan trials and came out with a remarkably cheery disposition and far better adjustment than was due, although even to this day she is known to suffer from sudden bouts of inexplicable anxiety. There are as many theories claiming that she was babied and shielded from the true rigors of the clan trials, but just as many theories stating that she is a natural prodigy and simply was not as greatly affected by the trials due to her inherently resolute will. Metsumi did not attend the Amegakure Genin Academy, as the Shiru clan has always insisted on training their own children at home under their personal supervision, and she only ever came to the academy in order to take and pass the Genin exam. As a result, Metsumi treats almost everyone she meets with a sense of familiarity that most would consider rude or intrusive, while also seeming to be more childish and less aware of social mores and customs expected of most in Amegakure. more reasons for a good bullying
As the heiress to the Shiru family's knowledge, she possesses a knowledge of Fūinjutsu that eclipses that of even most Jōnin, even if she lacks the Chakra reserves, discipline, and experience to make use of most of it. ▸Hiden Technique: The Shiru clan lacks any kind of bloodline limit, and instead is known for their expertise in Fūinjutsu and for the secret, closely guarded, intricate and tremendously complex hand-sealing technique used amongst their own family, which itself grants access to a method enabled by the seal itself - the Butterfly Hand Seal. The Hiden Fūinjutsu technique itself ultimately hails from the period when the Shiru clan still resided in the now long-lost Uzushiogakure no Sato - and as tends to be the case with such old and advanced techniques, its uses and workings survive only in the oral tradition of the Shiru family.The Butterfly Hand Seal is a Fūinjutsu performed upon members of the Shiru clan shortly after birth, reinforced and developed over the course of their development by their parents and the clan elders. The Fūinjutsu is performed upon the palms of the hands, creating a number of focal points which act to shape and manipulate chakra in specific ways, while also reshaping the subject's Meridian system around the fingers, hands, wrists, and lower arms, corresponding to the arrangement of focal points. Over time, the Tenketsu of those with hands sealed in this manner become altered; members of the Shiru clan have 401 Tenketsu versus the standard 361, and the extra 40 Tenketsu points are all concentrated in their lower arms, hands, and fingers. The function of the hand seal is deceptively simple; when Chakra is shunted through one of the affected Tenketsu, it is automatically reshaped and molded in a fashion corresponding to an ordinary hand seal (Rat, Ox, Tiger, etc.) without the user having to actively do so themselves. The technique itself is not limited to reshaping chakra according to only the twelve basic hand seals, but is also capable of reshaping it according to the five element hand seals and possesses an unknown number of variations beyond those. These variations allow them to manipulate chakra in immensely complex ways, and in theory a user of the Butterfly Hand Seal could shape Chakra similarly to unique hand seals used in non-bloodline techniques, as long as the user perfectly understood the methodology of the technique in question. to clarify for readers: theoretically they can copy but because they lack knowledge of how the technique works internally (i.e. how do you shape the chakra and what do you do with it) they cannae do this
Because of the near-instantaneous manner in which Chakra is shaped and molded by a user of the Butterfly Hand Seal, and since its use requires only a single hand seal, it is effectively impossible to predict or recognize what move a member of the Shiru clan is about to use based on the movement of their hands, or even by examining their chakra as it is reshaped. which was already hard -- the use of the tiger seal is so common place that you don't know whether they're gonna try to dispel a genjutsu or activate a byakugan. point is, this is less of a strength than it seems though it certainly is one to keep in account
Use of the Butterfly Hand Seal does not obviate the need for members of the Shiru clan to study, memorize, and even perform ordinary hand seals. As a matter of course, they still must practice the standard hand seals as well as others, memorizing their use and understanding how and why they are used so that they understand how to use the Butterfly Hand Seal. If a member of the Shiru clan does not possess a mastery of this fundamental knowledge, they will not know how or when to channel Chakra through their arms properly, rendering the Butterfly Hand Seal useless, as the original intent of the technique was to optimize the efficient use of complex techniques by those who already possessed mastery of Chakra control. effectively meaning they are misappropriating the fuinjutsu since it wasn't meant for young children/genin but for jonin level people who have utterly mastered their ninjutsu and want to diminish the amount of seals they need to use Similarly, the clan's singular reliance upon the Butterfly Hand Seal makes training them in most techniques difficult, since they have to translate the ordinary method for using any given technique through their own unique methodology before they can use it reliably. so what that means is... they can learn a new technique but not master it well enough to use it with the butterfly seal. they could still perform that technique normally but it would require more time than to use the butterfly seal. using that technique more often gives them a better understanding of the technique -> this means they can start using it with the butterfly seal.
As a consequence of this, members of the Shiru clan are infamous for their ability to eventually use nearly all of their fully trained techniques without even having to use any hand signs whatsoever, using multiple techniques simultaneously (practically they still must perform techniques one after the other, but they perform them so rapidly that they can seem simultaneous), and even earlier on in their lives of being able to perform one-handed seals. Able to perform non-Bloodline techniques that use otherwise unique hand seals as long as they have learned the actual technique, and fully understand the underlying principles of that technique and how Chakra needs to be shaped to perform it.
- Techniques cannot be copied or predicted by physical observation of movement or Chakra, though certain other methods of mimicry or prediction - or methods that are sufficiently specialized - might be able to.
- Encourages (relatively) rapid mastery of chakra control, enabling eventual frequent use of one-handed seals or no seals at all while employing techniques, as well as the rapid, near-simultaneous use of multiple techniques at once.

- Sensory Gengetsu used for numbing the senses or creating illusions can significantly impede a Butterfly Hand Seal user; whereas any other Shinobi could always fall back on the inherent reliability of standard hand seals to shape Chakra properly, a Butterfly Hand Seal user has no immediately obvious tells associated with their hand gestures that reveal they are being affected by Genjutsu designed to trip up a Shinobi's use of techniques. Similarly, although an advanced user of the Butterfly Hand Seal can rapidly use multiple techniques nearly simultaneously at higher levels of skill, they still have to be able to perceive their target. Gengetsu, in general, is an effective way to prevent them from unleashing a deluge of techniques. Methods of concealment, misdirection, or sensory manipulation or also effective for the same reason.
- Most users still typically have to at least press their hands together to use jutsu, and nobody in the Shiru clan is known for being particularly physically strong, even if they regularly engage in taijutsu. Putting them into any kind of arm-lock can shut them down in short order. Since they rely to an almost singular degree upon use of the Hand Seal, partly damaging or maiming even one arm enough to prevent them from using it will effectively remove them as a threat.

▸ Equipment and weaponryIt is to be noted, being a member of a family that specializes in the very techniques necessary to produce sealing scrolls, Metsumi has more of the tools listed here sealed inside scrolls than most other Shinobi would ever consider using even for a lengthy mission. I'm not gonna count shinobi tools during the story so feel free to abuse the fuck out of that so long as it doesn't become blatantly moronic.
