I... um... *sigh* Never mind. If I tried to specify it any further it'll be far too complicated to be a simple Keyblade ability.
@Akayaofthemoon @Apollosarcher

I guess I could do that. Would something like this be acceptable?:

"This blade, formerly wielded by Ren, became renowned during the War for its ability, Runic Charge. When magic is cast directly at the wielder, the blade's Runic Charge allows the blade to absorb the spell, protecting the wielder from its otherwise harmful effect and gaining a slight strength boost in return. Spells can be absorbed consecutively, allowing for the power boost to increase with each spell absorbed. The absorbed energy can, at any time after a single spell is absorbed, be unleashed in the form of the Runic Slash, Ren's signature technique. The attack is a beam of non-elemental energy brought forth through a slashing motion, giving it the shape of a great blade of light."

It's inspired by two things: 1, Celes' Runic ability from Final Fantasy VI, and 2, Cloud's Blade Beam Limit Break from Final Fantasy VII.
Beginning to think that Trusted Heart's ability is a bit... well, lame to be honest. At least in comparison to my Reaper's Touch and some of the other Keyblade abilities that others are using.
The Keyblade War was, as far as I can tell, not necessarily fought between Light and Darkness. It was just the Keyblade Wielders killing each other off in the hopes that their fighting would allow one of them to forge the X-blade. It's never stated, but to me that implies that there was a lot of manipulation and backstabbing going on a la Game of Thrones, hence why Cyrus's backstory is the way it is (he was introduced to war via manipulation by one of the more experienced Keyblade Wielders, at least until Cyrus got wise and started fighting for himself, becoming the Grimm Reaper).
So a trainer needed certain badges just to be able to get into certain areas of Kosei? It sounded a bit complicated, but Trey immediately noticed a silver lining in all this. Requiring badges to be in certain areas would apply not just to him, but the other trainers in the region as well, or so logic dictated. That meant that, no matter how many gyms he challenged, there'd be no shortage tough trainers to test his skill against. And that, Trey decided, was alright with him.

But then the Team Tyrannical stuff got brought up. Now, Trey didn't know a whole lot about them. News about Kosei rarely reached as far as Johto, and that included this organization's actions. However, from what was described about them, Trey could tell that unless they were stopped it was going to be Team Rocket all over again. Yes, Trey was there when Team Rocket took over Slowpoke Well, heck he'd even heard first hand about their famous takeover of Goldenrod City. Of course, he was only a little kid back then, so he couldn't have done anything to stop them at the time, not that he ever needed to, since that one trainer took them all down single-handedly. What was their name? Ethan? Or was it Kris? He was a bit too young at the time to remember fully.

Not that any of this was going to deter Trey, not by a long shot. If he ran into those Team Tyrannical guys, he'd just have to follow that previous trainer's example and fight them tooth and nail until they were running away with their tails between their legs. Not an easy prospect, but if young trainers like Red and Ethan could do it, then there was no reason why the trainers in this room couldn't rise to the challenge as well.

While listening to the Professor, Trey checked the map on his Pokegear. There were two places he could choose to go first. Mesalon, which was slightly closer and had a Normal Type Gym; and Vareena, which was slightly farther but offered a Grass Type Gym which Glider could easily take on. Then again, Glider hadn't learned any actual Flying type moves yet so they could probably go either way, "What do you think, bud?" he whispered to the Gligar who was undoubtedly looking at the map from on Trey's shoulder. The Gligar just shrugged, also unsure what to choose.

"Actually, Professor," said Trey when questions were allowed, "I was wondering if maybe you were offering any Pokedex's. I came from Azalea Town so I didn't get to pick one up from Professor Elm."
Chen seems to have a rather... limited understanding of how the war works. Oh well, chalk it up to him being misinformed I guess. *evil chuckle*
There's something about the Heart Types that still confuses me. Each one is apparently designed to fulfill a sort of RPG role. Wise are Mages, Guardians are Tank Fighters, and Champions are DPS Fighters. Where exactly does that leave the Valorous Hearts? They wield two Keyblades, sure, but it sounds like they have all the worst traits of Guardians and Champions (slowness, frail defenses) but seemingly none of the advantages save for a second blade. I'm actually wondering if having a second blade is worth being comparatively weaker than other characters since I'm not seeing any other real advantage to having a Valorous heart. I'm sticking with my character regardless, it's just that this has been nagging at me for a while now.
So no one's batting an eye at the music currently blaring over the speakers? *shrugs* Oh well, better luck next time I guess.
@Joshua Tamashii That would be an oversight on my part, I apologize.
Standing alone on the top ledge of the clock tower, Cyrus gazed at the never-ending sunset of Twilight Town. He'd heard this spot offered what others referred to as a "stunning view of the town", though Cyrus only really thought of it as a useful vantage point, he still had to admit that the view itself was indeed a sight to behold. Arms crossed, his red scarf whipped about in the wind, with a sigh Cyrus let himself relax a bit, evidenced by his beginning to lean on the wall behind him.

He heard rumors of like-minded Keyblade Wielders meeting here to discuss a plan for ending the war. It sounded genuine, but he knew all too well how often rumors could also lead to deadly traps. This was why he'd chosen his current vantage point. From here, he could watch things unfold while hopefully remaining unseen by those on the streets. If the rumors proved themselves to be true, Cyrus would show himself peacefully and offer his aid to effort. If his other hunch was correct and this turned out to be some twisted trap for naive hopefuls, then Cyrus would just have to once again prove why he was called the Grimm Reaper.

Perhaps he was being a bit pessimistic, but the war had made Cyrus into a very... pragmatic individual. It taught him to approach everything with a "healthy" amount of caution that often bordered on paranoia. He wanted to think that there were others like Ren out there, who were also trying to end the conflict just as he had tried to do, and if there were Cyrus would gladly join their cause in the name of honoring his fallen friend. Unfortunately, the realist in Cyrus told him that absolutely nothing should ever taken at face value.
