Digimon: Into the Digital Age

Okay, I think I've given everyone a good idea of what kind of Role/Arc for Kaitou to undergo. He's the one trying to do things the "pragmatic" way and it has a habit of clashing with the others. Now we can try and develop him back into more of a team player like he used to be.

"I think it's obvious!" answered Raven, yelling back to KK, "I'm doing what you never had the spine to do yourself!" and that was it. In the hundred and fifty years he had known him, KK always had a way of getting under Kaitou's skin. Something about his idealistic way of doing things just rubbed him the wrong way. More than once he wanted to call it out, accuse KK of being a naive fool. But for the longest time Kaitou held it in. Saving the worlds was simply more important than any petty differences. But now? There was no known danger to the world. Now they had absolutely nothing but time to hash out their differences.

"You have you your way," Raven said, now noticing Axel rushing in his direction, "and I have mine!" and then, without warning he tossed the brick toward Axel. Not at him directly, not even Kaitou could be that mean-spirited. But it should have been enough to make Axel momentarily pause in order to avoid the brick. And then Raven did something else unexpected, he kicked the Digivice. Not enough to break, but enough to knock it over the edge and onto the flooded streets below, "You want it?" Raven asked Axel in a taunting tone, "Then have fun swimming for it." with a silent glance at Falcomon, Raven then ran toward the opposite roof. His plan was simple enough for anyone to figure out. Put the stolen Digivice in a position where the others would be too busy trying to recover it to chase after him.

When he reached the edge of the roof, Raven offered one more bow before throwing down a smokescreen, "Adieu!" he taunted as he vanished into the smoke, Falcomon flying after him. Unfortunately, both the Digimon and the Thief were gone by the time the smoke cleared. And besides, had Raven's plan worked then everyone would be too busy frantically searching for the Digivice to even attempt to give chase.

And... Kaitou/Raven just became the one true asshole of the group. Axel may be anti-social, G may be breaking and entering a government building, and Minx may have started a fight. But Kaitou just threatened to break a Digivice. He's basically holding Minx's entire role as a Digidestined hostage. So like I said, I think we can safely say who the real asshole of the group is from now on.

Raven remained unflinching even when the Orcamon came at him. His free hand reached quickly into his pocket, grasping his own Digivice with a tight grip. He could use it if necessary, allow Falcomon to digivolve into Peckmon and then teach this amateur just who it was they were dealing with. But when Supiromon stepped in and intercepted the attack, Raven released his grasp on his Digivice and left it hidden away in his pocket. There would be no need for Peckmon to get involved, at least not this time. But something else became abundantly clear. Just taking the Digivice wasn't enough. The girl's Digimon was still evolved, and still able to rampage. In that case, the only choice left was to go a little... further.

"Hey, you!" Raven shouted from his rooftop. He wasn't aware of the conversation she was having with KK, and frankly even if he did know he would hard pressed to actually care. As he shouted, the thief made sure to hold the stolen Digivice where it could be seen, "Call off your Digimon, NOW!" he demanded, approaching the edge of the roof. He made a choice, one that KK and Yukarumon were sure to hate him for. In fact, the others would probably be hard pressed to agree with what Raven was doing. He bent down, scooped up a nearby brick. Then he placed the Digivice on the ground and held the brick up over his head as if to bring it down hard, "Do it! Or I'll smash it!" was it even physically possible to trash a Digivice? Raven didn't actually know since he had never tried before. But if it meant putting an end to this nonsense, then he was willing to attempt it.

"Wait! What are you...?" Falcomon asked, even he was surprised and seemed unsure whether to go along with Raven's threat or to try to stop him.

I'm sorry, Falcomon. Raven remained unmoved. He was waiting for a response. Sometimes just stealing the treasure wasn't enough. Sometimes, to get results, one had to actually threaten the treasure. Or in this case, use it as leverage to "convince" the would-be Digidestined to call off her attack.

Also, if someone doesn't make a Maui-kid that sings a cover of You're Welcome then... well that would be kind of disappointing. Lol

Isle or Auradon: Isle of the Lost

Personality: Hal is known to be able to go from cool as ice to hellish fury in the blink of an eye. Apparently it runs in the family. like his double-dealing father, Hal has a self-proclaimed talent for having a silver tongue. But for all his supposed wickedness, there's still enough of his mother in him to nag at the back of his mind and keep him from crossing certain lines. If Hades is the little devil on one shoulder, then Persephone is the angel standing on the other. With a silver tongue comes a certain craving for games of chance. Dice, cards, Hal can play them all. An old saying warns that one should never make a deal with Hades, well one could make a similar warning about gambling against Hal. Anyone who does will more often than not find the deck to be heavily stacked against them. Hal is also popularly believed to be some kind of pyromaniac, blamed for most fires that break out in his area. Even the ones he didn't actually start himself.

Brief Bio: Hal never really got to know his father much until recently. Given his status as a god, Hades had to be dealt with in more unique way compared to his contemporaries. Rather than merely banishing him to the Isle, the King apparently made some kind of deal with Zeus to have the entrance of the Underworld moved to the Isle as well. This allows Hades to continue governing the Underworld while still technically being locked behind the barrier of the Isle. Hal didn't always live on the Isle. In fact he used to live in Auradon with his mother. But one day when he was 14, he was blamed for a fire that broke out at Auradon Prep and was shipped off to the Isle to live with his father.

Despite his villainy, Hades was a surprisingly "cool" dad. He taught Hal how to better control the fire he'd been summoning at his fingertips. Now any fires that Hal starts are perfectly calculated and under his control. When Cerberus gave birth to a litter of pups, Hal was allowed to keep one of them for himself. He named it Rex, and it's been his constant companion ever since. Lastly, Hades taught Hal the "Art of the Deal". How to say exactly what people think they want to hear in order to sucker them into an unwanted deal. That's not to say Hal took completely after his old man. He gained a love for games and gambling completely on his own. It just so happened that he was able to use what he learned from Hades to rig the games to his advantage.

While Hal could spend his time hanging around in Underworld and learning the family business, he finds that to be rather boring. While the Isle may be limited, at least there were more people to talk to that weren't just screaming souls or something. Though even when he's pounding the pavement, Hal is almost never without Rex following close behind. Another companion who occasionally accompanies him is Styggs the Ferryman. The River Styx hasn't properly been used in a long time and so Styggs has often found himself performing butler-like duties for Hades or Hal.

Other: As stated, Hal can conjure fire right from his fingertips. It's not as powerful or destructive as his father's, but they're great for putting on a show and making threats. Having a scary-looking three-headed Hellhound at your command is also very helpful in those regards.

Of course Disney's Hades is a villain. He was THE villain of the Hercules movie. But like I said, so was Maleficent, Cruella, Jafar, and Evil Queen. That's why I don't think Hades would be too much of a stretch. Especially true if we introduce Persephone into the mix. Her "goodness" would probably make for a good counterbalance to Hades's "evilness" in their kid. And what other pairing offers us the opportunity to have a Descendant who is half-in-half like that? Just sayin'.

Anyway. Just got done watching Movie 1. Hate to be "that" guy but the musical numbers nearly killed it for me. I never liked High School Musical and the songs in this movie were trying so hard to be High School Musical that they were really painful to sit through. Everything else was okay. Kind of wish the movie took itself a little more seriously since the Nature vs Nurture themes are legitimately interesting. I'm also curious as to why someone like Snow White would be reduced to being the Joan Rivers of this universe. I mean, Snow White was THE first animated Disney, and she was THE first Disney Princess. You'd think she would be treated with a bit more respect, but I digress. I'll get around to watching Movie 2 some time tomorrow. I'd watch it tonight but I have work in the morning so I really shouldn't.

Last time I saw Disney one he was evil, maybe crazy.

Well, yes, Disney Hades is undoubtedly evil and villain. But you know... so is Maleficent, Cruella, Evil Queen, and Jafar. So... I doubt Hades would be thaaaaat much of a stretch.

Well, the woman you're referring to is Persephone. And I'm not sure why you'd feel sorry for them. By all accounts Hades was perfectly faithful (unlike his asshole brothers) and actually did genuinely care for Persephone. At least... the mythology version did. Not sure about the Disney one, though.
