It took me 10 years to finally fill one of these out, but I finally did it. Welcome, stranger.

Cèad mìle fàilte

I'm Drache. I'm a millenial leftist from Scotland living in the US deep south. I'm a queer polyamorous kinkster. You can find me at PRIDE, at Ren Fair, at the local farmer's market, and the monthly dark party. I play D&D, I play Skyrim, and I play with gags and blindfolds. I'm your elder femdom, even though my bones hurt.

During the day I'm an emergency animal medical professional with 20 years in the field. On my off time I'm a dog show enthusiast, a karaoke singer, a baker, and a volunteer wildlife rehabilitator. I'm a collector of rare houseplants, of rescued exotic birds, of books, of tattoos. I'm the most feral spouse with the most domestic skills. I'm perpetually exhausted but endlessly impulsive.

If you're looking for a partner to share in your high fantasy, in your dark themes, in your deranged kinky monsterfucking, send me a PM.

What else is there to say?

Reputation: Having survived his first mainstream pit fight, Gaulirax's name is beginning to spread in Pyresia as a brutal up-and-coming gladiator.

@The Emperors Blade
Amber eyes flitted around the room, taking in the rows of benches above. She didn't like this place at all. It reminded her too much of the Meteorena in Pyresia. Part of the year, the meteor crater was used as a training ground for fighters, dragons or otherwise. But it was also used for entertainment as gladiators fought each other or other kinds of beasts for money. Or to earn money for their owners. None of this made sense to her. She could easily fly out.

Getting Raffey out would be tougher, though Drache knew her wings were just strong enough to carry a human. Or a keremis. Whatever.

Everything got quiet for a moment and the half-dragon turned back to her companion, "What is it?" Her snout panned slowly as she followed his gaze, watching the trickle of blood work its serpentine way towards the portal.

"Oh, fuck me sidewa--..."

Not knowing what to expect, as soon as the surface of the portal change hue, the dragoness cringed back. One of her wings even swept in front of her, instinctively protective as she squinted. The hellish dome passed through them and rose towards the ceiling, and Drache didn't even bother testing it to see if she could get through. Whatever this was, a mere archaeologist wasn't going to be able to stop it.

The sickly sweet smell washed over her nostrils, almost cloying in its strength as it banished the sour odour from before. They'd never even discovered what was causing it. It was almost fresh, reminding Drache of the rainforest after a rain. Or the inside of one of the gemstone-glass greenhouses. Someone had told her once that the plants purified the air inside.

She began cursing herself under her breath, admonishing her own lack of care and heedlessness. Her draconic words flowed quick and harsh before she turned to Raffey and said in Common. "Yeah, sure didn't want to miss this. I don't know if my magic is strong enough to break through."

Luckily, she didn't have to worry about it. The light in the room shifted as the weird blobby things on the ceiling started to move, and then IT appeared. "Oh. Well now. That is just fantastic."

A growl ripped from her throat as the nasty-looking creature arrived, and she could simply feel that whatever it was, it was infinitely worse than it looked, which was saying a lot. It's name burned across her brain and the dragoness clawed at her temples, a shrill scream hissing through her teeth as she tried to fight the loathsome presence. She wasn't even sure if she was breathing anymore and staggered back, leaning haphazardly against the stone wall over where Raffey had fallen to his knees.

The voice was huge. Far too big. It made Laurel's sweet voice seem like nothing more than a tiny ember in a volcano. It took time just for her to realize what it was saying, let alone retaliate.

The intent to eat them was clear. And not just eat, but devour them, soul and all. Drache was far from religious, but this more-than-just-death threat was panic-inducing on a level she'd never known before. A half-dragon generally had more to worry about in this life rather than the next one. The fact that the creature called her "corrupted" meant little. Just another insult hurled in her direction, nothing she hadn't been told before. Had she realized the full implication of what the monster was suggesting...well...it was well that she did not.

The fear curdled like something cold and foul in her belly. The creature's presence didn't improve, but after the first wave of horror she found it somewhat more bearable. Glancing down at Raffey, she watched him put his foot down and brace his javelin. It seemed almost laughably ineffectual.

The impulse to fly was almost overwhelming. Her wings were lifted high and she couldn't seem to shut them. But the last thing she wanted to do was die fluttering around like a moth trapped in a lantern that was slowly cooking it alive. If death was certain, she'd rather fly directly into the flame.

Briefly, her mind flitted down the list of things she had in her pack. She wasn't terribly organized, be she had a dragon's knack for knowing what was hers. And none of it would help.

Her clawed hand lifted to touch the bump in her pocket that was Cinder in his orb. "I wish you were awake, little one." She felt protective of it. Almost more angry that the little elemental could be in danger from Coria than herself. She supposed it was the most maternal feeling she'd ever had, or ever would have, since she'd never have children of her own.

Then her hand dropped to touch Raffey's shoulder before she started walking towards the monster. She'd faced a water serpent not that long ago and it had been one of the closest brushes with death in her life. And it hadn't prepared her at all for this. "Funny to hear promises of purity from something that looks like a turd cooking on hot lava. Hungry? Eat this."

She inhaled, possibly for the last time ever, and let the fire in her heart surge out in a ferocious roar. It was like holding a matchstick up against a charging tiger, but Drache didn't stop there. The swirling cone began to grow as she focused on it, trying to repeat what she had seen Cinder do in the dilapidated temple. It lengthened but grew narrower, finer, whiter, hotter. No longer a simple gout of smoke-belching orange, it was a fine line of white-hot that hurt her eyes. When her chest ran out of breath she kept the flame alive with her power, blasting it at the oozing thing. Heat. Glorious heat. It was inside her and all around, her scales corruscating with tiny flickers that seemed to erupt from between her scales and feed up into the magical ray. She kept it up as long as she could, pouring more and more into it. All her strength. What else could she do? Die?
Listening to the giant's unfair and unjust challenge brought an icy glare to Rilana's face. That the people of Jhrogramir would deny them entrance in a time of need seemed to blow the druid's nutural compassion away with a cold wind. The last thing she wanted to do was fight a sneering, arrogant giant. But neither would she simply let herself be smashed with a crude club out here in front of the gates.

She glanced at Svarak for help, but he was too far away to reach them in time to fight the giant himself, so she slid from Kona's back, the image of a wooly rhino in her mind. Beside her, Kona postured defiantly, responding with a wordless falcon shriek. Even Ortha appeared, quickly swallowing something so that both heads could face the giant with stick jaws snarling noisily. With the two beasts on either side of her, Rilana herself looked rather stoic, though her blue gaze was defiantly stern.

"Screee!" I'll go for his eyes. Gut him with a rhino horn. He wont be so arrogant when he's bleeding in the snow! Kona was just about as fed up with this journey as Rilana was.

Kneecaps. Ortha volunteered, eyeing the giant's legs as he stomped towards them through the snow.

Fortunately for everyone, the giant was stopped not by Rilana and her Familiars, but by one of his own. A fellow Druid, Rilana suspected immediately. It wasn't until the moon fey relaxed that she realized how fast her heart was beating in anticipation of coming to blows. She barely had enough time to stop Ortha, dragging the balauradon back by her whippy tail as the dog-sized creature leaped forwards.

"Ihleen," she repeated the name, infinitely glad that the woman could speak Common so that she didn't have to struggle with giant. "Our mission is gravely important. But if we survive, I promise you I will look for Ihria myself and do whatever I can to see her safely home." The voice in her head was answered with a tired, I will.

A Druid indeed, Kona observed upon seeing the mammoth Mark.

Rilana felt as though she should have taken the time to observe Jhrogramir as they passed through. Wouldn't it be prudent to see what had changed since the last time she was here. But she was simply too tired, and let Kona be her eyes as he carried her along. She glanced back at Svarak once or twice, wondering if it would have comforted her any to feel his arms around her now.

I'll never know, will I?

Best let it go now. It will hurt less later.

The Cave of Sighs. Rilana had only been there once before. They'd spent the night under its eaves after delivering some trained mammoths to the giants. Lady Moira had introduced her to the soft-furred ice bats. Rilana recalled being fascinated by them and promising herself that she would be back one day to try Bonding with one. As they walked through the icy cave she reached up gently to stroke a blue one, barely disturbing it. Too bad there wasn't time.

Alya's voice in her head came as a shock. Not because Rilana wasn't used to hearing all sorts of craziness in her head these days, but because she hadn't realized how skilled Alya was with her songweaving. True, what she HAD heard was beautiful (mostly), but there hadn't been much time for music on this trip. So you can speak. I'm thrilled to hear your voice, even if it's only in my head, Alya. She managed a smile, genuine though it was small and tired.

Taking the piece of hide, Rilana had to literally snatch it out of Ortha's mouth as the ravenous two-headed creature decided to eat it.

"By the moon, let go! Do you have two stomachs as well as two heads?"

"Yes, this is Lady Moira, my friend's, handwriting." She repeated the riddle out loud for anyone to hear. "Was there anything with this?" If Alya told her about the shard it would only confirm for the moon fey that they were getting close to their goal.

"A drum?" She couldn't hear much beyond the flapping of the bats and the voices of the knights. "Kona, please tell them to stop."

Ruffling his wings, as a gentleman might roll up his sleeves, the large gryphon strode over towards the knights, fixing them with a glare. He could not speak out loud, but his tail swished and a hissing growl poured out of his mouth, interrupting their premature celebrations on behalf of his Druid.

Following Alya's lead deeper into the cavern, Rilana repeated the riddle to herself, trying to make sense of it. "Most of this is beyond me. Truly my heart can think of better places to be than here. 'Becoming a hare' seems more straight-forward, at least for me. I can become one if I wish."

But then the hare dies.

I'm going to ignore that part.

But if someone had to voluntarily die for Svarak to have a chance at doing the terrible thing he needed to do, Rilana knew who it was going to be.

The quiet sounds of the sleeping winter forest resumed nonchalantly as the scaled creature approached the yawning hole. The scent of disturbed earth drifted up to their nostrils as the slightly warmer air escaped up into the light.

There was no challenge from the blackness when Cihr'Cten's palm closed around the stone, but for a brief moment the darkness melted away, a path revealed down into the depths. Something wrought by skilled and dedicated hands. Something that was secret. Revealed to his mind like a landscape illuminated by a single bolt of lightning and then cast once again into obscurity, startling to observe and difficult to recollect once it was gone. One thing they could be certain about was that this collapsed hole was all that was left of the true entrance, from back in a time before the great tree had sprouted.

The orb itself was slightly too large for the Israiph to close their hand around, like a grapefruit. The lingering traces of magic did not prevent the orb from being as icy cold as the snowy forest around them, and it would quickly become uncomfortable in their hand if they did not tuck it away. No action would recreate the brief vision, but the sense that the item was magical could be readily felt.

Upon closer inspection, it would turn out that while the ball of jade was smooth and shiny, though dirty from being caught in the roots of a tree all this time, there were fine stylized engravings all over the surface in a repeating pattern of triangles and circles.

The release of energy was nothing short of primal. But at the same time it was more mystical than anything Drache had ever experience before. The heat wave burst out of her fingertips and she watched almost casually as the white-hot meteor turned the approaching typhoon into nothing more than a cloud of directionless steam. The orb within the serpent was obiterated. Even as the explosion backfired towards her, the half-dragon began to chuckle cruelly, her maw open, teeth black against the light enveloping her. The throaty giggle was cut off rapidly as the shockwave blew her backwards.

Suddenly bereft of power, the dragonkin scrabbled wildly against the stone, digging her fingers in until her claws frayed. Wet hot steam rushing around the huge chamber, dragging at her wings so hard that the strength to keep them tight to her back failed her. Dust, grit, and water was whipping around, dousing the braziers and plunging the temple into darkness. The walls and ceiling groaned, the grinding of breaking stone punctuated by slabs of rock crashing down on the beautiful buildings.

"Down towards the heart," the sprite seemed to urge. Looking up through the gloom Drache's gleaming eyes searched for the men and wished Kraven luck towards his shrinking back. She didn't so much jump into the abyss as she rolled over the side into the open air, twisting catlike as she fell until her wings could open behind her.

Joining Laurel on the smooth yet lumpy surface of the hardened lava, she watched her pet the orb that must have been the sister to the creature around her and inside her head. It seemed to smolder and wither away into its own orb, and the half-dragon managed to catch it before it hit the ground. She held it up in front of her eyes, her breath hissing over it through her nostrils as she felt the absence of all that power in the form of a wing-drooping weakness. Exhausted. Drained.

Up above the chamber was still shaking apart so Drache snatched Laurel up off the ground by her wing. "We should go. Kraven and Sirik might have made it out but they may also be hurt. I want to get out of here. This place depresses me."

She tried to hand her orb to Laurel. It only made sense to her that the two should stay together, and she was the last person who wanted to travel aroun with a pet. It was only at the last moment that she noticed the red gem and scooped it up, barely registering the strange urge to change her journey's path yet again. Something to think about later, perhaps.

She slipped her arm around Laurel's waist and let their wings tangle together as they walked up the lava tube towards the sunlight. "If the boys lived we're all sharing a tent tonight. I need some attention and I can't decide which of you I want more. Call me greedy."
In retrospect the dragonkin would not be able to say what she had expected to find in the pit, probably something more akin to Laurel and herself rather than two small Elementals. Because that's what the fire-bright little creature ascending like an ember on the wind had to be. A thing that Drache had only found vague references to in moldy books and fading scrolls. She watched with divided attention, curious about the creature but unable to forget that danger was all around them. The smaller water elementals were lurking, and the huge serpent was barreling around in the depths of the temple, its destruction causing the ground to shiver under her talons.

It was only in her distraction that the little creature was able to get so close. He absorbed the fire encasing her fist and swelled with renewed strength and Drachiathoryx had no more regrets about feeding him than she would have about scattering loose grains for a hungry chicken.

"Here you go, Laurel! I've found you not just one fire spirit, but two!"

But then the first one sort of swelled and began to cover her body like a veil of fire, and this was something the half-dragon did not expect. At first she jumped back from the edge of the pit, shaking her arm a bit. When that didn't work she tried to scratch it off with her claws, a startled noise of dismay snorting out of her nostrils. He lifted one foot and tried to shake that as well, turning in circles. Few creatures approached a half-dragon willingly. She'd never even had a cat rub itself against her legs! Assuming that the creature meant harm, it took her longer than it should have to relax.

He spoke, and in listening, her ear-frills twitching madly as she peered through the firey aura around her at the orb floating over her flat belly, she realized that his presence felt...good. It was comforting, like wine after a bad day. What I wouldn't do for a cup of wine right about now... Her magic was nearly spent, but with this little creature wrapped completely over her she felt like she might have a little bit more to give.

The delicate pattern of scales all over Drache's body began to glow, turning the scales dark in comparison. "You'll find that I don't relish the idea of giving you control, little Cinder. You'd better not disappoint me."

With the fire sprite making her glow like a bonfire, Drache turned just as Laurel went leaping out over the abyss and sank down into the darkness. Possessed with a much stronger sense of self-preservation than all that, the half-dragon tilted her horned head and spread her wings, the motion showering fire-red wisps towards the stone floor. She paused, sensing that "her" flame sprite didn't want her to jump, and also because through some connection that hadn't existed a moment ago, she had an inkling of what Laurel was doing down there anyways.

"She's coming back," the half-dragon muttered, more to herself than anything. Her tail lashed back and forth as she turned away from the pit. Her eyes were red-white, pupils lost against the glare. Behind her she could feel Laurel coming as the rising heat of a volcanic eruption. A simmering wave of furnace-like heat came rushing noisily from the darkness, following closely by the red glow. "Kraven! Run!"

Drache was not a terribly trusting sort of person. Even amongst these kvaren who had treated her so well, there was a certain amount of reserve that never seemed to fade. But the presence of the little sprite permeated more than her scales, and she decided to trust. "Let'sss make that lassst heartbeat count for sssomething and sshow thisss ssslimy watery worm what a missstake it was to take up residenccce in a fire temple."

Her anger mixed with the sprite's sadness and she let what was left of her power build. She'd been practicing with Laurel long enough that when the alufiend's power joined with hers she barely felt the change. Only the rising heat and unquestionable might. There was ecstacy in her anger. Fury in her euphoria. It was intoxicating. And just when she thought the inferno might consume her completely, she lifted her snout to stare into the eyes of the serpent and gave control to the little spirit that had turned her entire body into a corruscating pyre.

"Die."
