Smiles firing the weapon right next to his head was not the best thing for Stukov's hearing, but as he turned back to see the statue collapsing, he would take ringing in his ear over the complete and total loss of his own life. He was busy wiping the blood off his hands as the Sister spoke about injuries that she could help treat, which got a snort from the former Armsman. Nothing could be done out in the field for patching him up, and odds were it was nothing that would affect short term performance. Maybe long term, some surgery might have been needed, but it would not have warranted being pulled from the field anytime soon. Not like they could have the luxury of such things typically. While Smiles concern was appreciated, which got a smirk on his face, it was, again, not like anything could be done for it and he effectively said as much to the group. "Nothing I can't walk off, Smiles, appreciate the thought though. Besides, its not like its anything that could be fixed here, unless one of you lot have a medical suite stuffed right up...."

Probably a good thing that the Inquisitor stepped in and began talking and dispatching orders at that point, considering where his sentence was going at that point. Was it terribly surprising most of them were being dispatched back to a safehouse? Probably not, all the noise, commotion, and likelyhood of any cultists of importance remaining for capture and interrogation still hanging around were pretty much nil. Even so, he had a gut instinct that the fact Smiles was instructed by Boss to hang back was not a good thing, at best a chewing out that wasn't being done in front of everyone else. He'd seen that before, drag the sorry sod off to make everyone else think they were getting strung up, but all that happened was simply getting an ear full for their mistake. But tearing a gaping hole in the museum was not really a minor mistake. Warp spawned abominations of statues were gone, thank the Emperor for that, but it did leave them with no leads to work with at the moment. Being shipped off to a safehouse was hardly interesting, but considering he probably needed to take a few to get himself straightened out, it was not terrible. Before departing, he turned from the group and send a message right to Smiles, on a side channel to avoid it being caught by others. "Catch up when you can, and good luck."

Stukov made sure his weapons were sheathed and out of sight, so he looked unarmed as he reached the escape vehicle and climbed in. Far too nice for his tastes, then again, anything above his paygrade was typically too nice for his tastes, so that could be taken however one willed. Leaning back against the seat, he readjusted his shades and caught his breath, considering how he would go about fixing himself up since Boss so kindly noticed that he had been injured. Alpha had introduced himself prior, and he responded to the man who sat in the driver's seat finally, not touching the drinks for the time being. "The ride is appreciated, Alpha." Beyond that, he kept an ear out for trouble, still ready to jump into a fight at a moment's notice, should the need arise.

don't worry, Adrianne has learnt one of the hidden arts of Terra, known in its ancient language as "The adorably cuddly-woffly kitten eyes!" ^_^

It's helped her in the past!

Via purple warp eyes of death!
Well, no one has died due to it, so here's to small miracles, eh?
@Dedonus The last comment about bluntness was directed at Melody, Marius has escaped the commentary of Niya, for now.
Just making an overdue post before passing out, so not bad.
Jerod gave the dark mage a strange look when she turned away from him to address the healer, he himself had no time to respond to the man as he gave thought to the rather odd dark mage, Marianne, before him. He was unsure of how far this whole newfound status as a 'F.R.I.E.N.D' of this dark mage would go, but it was certainly not something that most would probably be comfortable entertaining the prospect of, let alone actually being in the shoes of one such friend. And the healer was now stuck in the same mess, well, the walking one was. Niya, bless her stubborn soul, was standing off from this whole mess. Probably organizing where she intended to be with the Champion or his second, whichever she had cornered first. Probably the second, the lad seemed to get drug off rather quickly. Of course, the dark mage proceeded to offer a token of friendship to the two of them, in the form of quite the...interesting severed finger. Well, no sense making enemies, and he had seen far more gruesome trophies claimed before. "T'ank ye kindly lass, ah appreciate yer trop'y o' friends'ip, sure a' sure. As fer ye, 'ealer, ah am still intact, t'ank ye fer yer concern. Ye can call me Jerod, at yer service."

Niya calmly listened to what the knight had to say, noting he really had no idea where to stick her. He suspected keeping her in the rear guard until her talents were necessary, which was a wise if uninteresting place to be. She would have spoken right about then when the Wyvern Rider, Melody, that her detestable mercenary companion had been talking to strolled in and brute forced her way in without a concern for the conversation already going on, earning the disdain of the Troubadour. Just like Jerod, in that regard, he would have gladly butted in should he have something he just had to say, so she found herself not appreciating this Wyvern Rider, a rare resource indeed, as much now. But she kept concise and as cool, emotionally, as always. Though, as the group would no doubt see, whenever she referenced Jerod clear venom and distaste laced the mentioning of him. "I will ride where the injured are, then, a simple task. Niya of Regna Ferox, to make introductions. I can see how you and that mercenary Jerod got along so well, Rider. You are as blunt as he is with a similar knack for manners."
The pull of the vortex grew heavy on Stukov, a familiar pull on his gut that was not too unlike a breach in a voidship's hull, or the very same pull when repelling Daemons under transit. Problem was, he didn't have any anchors to hold him to the deck plates, or floor tiles in this case, and he jammed his heels into the group, bionic limb digging up tiles and relieving pressure on his natural leg as he slowly skidded forward. Snarling, there was little recourse in preventing the pull of the warp right now, and it would be a rather quick death if he couldn't avoid being pulled until that damned vortex got sealed or dissipated under its own volition. Since it didn't really look like Smiles was controlling it anymore, and thankfully for the sniper, Stukov had no time to continue berating him for his commentary. They survived this, he was going to have to have words with the assassin about this little thing called following orders. Not remarking back at the superior on said orders. His train of thought was disrupted as Smiles slammed into him from behind, sending them both hurtling right for the vortex. The armsman was biting back every curse he could think of at this particular moment in time, and it was either luck or divine intervention the null rod landed where it did.

That certainly did not stop the momentum Stukov, or Smiles it seemed, had as he hit the ground past just past the landing point of the null rod, his heel catching onto the device and dragging it as he skidded. It would not have been that bad if not for the fact Smiles helmet slammed into his gut as she landed, which not only completely knocked the wind out of him but probably cracked or outright broke some ribs. He had drug the null rod along, though the impact involuntarily forced Stukov to kick the thing clear of him as he fought to get his breath back, forcing himself up on his feet despite the pain in his ribs. Still breathing, shotgun was nowhere to be seen, he still had Foehammer and his knife, not all bad news then. For all he knew his shotgun had been smashed by the vortex, considering his loss of footing from the impact from Smiles losing her footing. He wasted no time hauling Smiles onto her feet, assuming she had not bounced back up already, coughing hard and managing out a side comment as he looked to make his way back to the Inquisitor, if at all possible now. The others could lose their shit and berate all they wanted, now was not the time for arguments between group members. They could resolve differences later. "Looks like you were right, Smiles. Guess humans are aerodynamic enough to be slung across distances like that after.. Another coughing fit, which wasn't good, and the Armsman noted his rebreather had been lost as well, and there was blood on the hand he covered his mouth with as he started coughing. Not a good sign, but he would burn that bridge later.
Once I get some sleep I'll post. Stukov shall never catch a break when it comes to the warp!
@Lone Wanderer Fair enough, we'll see how things get handled after a few hours sleep (Been over 24 since last I slept, so kind of need a few hours shut eye).
Well, no matter how the vote turns out, I fully intend on having Stukov run out of ammo right soon. He was packing for an undercover job, not an open firefight on enemies that take half a cylinder of buckshot/slug to bring down. Gotta love that bulky, bulky shotty ammo! And his sidearm uses the same ammo. Good on paper, practice, eehhhh.
