OMG. Omggg. Dude, yes. I understand the general vibe you mean, and I'm sure there have been smaller moments of this for me. But one thing stands out in particular that was so unnerving to me that I don't know if I even have the nerve to type it out, LMFAO. legitimately as soon as I started thinking about it my fucking ears/head started ringing and I got like a floaty, dissociated feeling...?

So I do not have the slightest fucking clue what it was about this that got to me so bad, but-- I once saw a clip of (omg the HAIR on the back of my NECK is PRICKLING and I am ACTUALLY SCARED to type this stupid title) okayokayokay

so when I saw that clip I SCREAMED (was alone in my apt at the time) and SLAMMED my laptop shut and THREW IT ACROSS MY BEDROOM??? for literally no reason and I am so fucking freaked out right now just thinking about it. by that point I was going out of my goddamn mind I was so freaked out. it was like 3am and I called my dad (RIP) who had a goddamn LAND LINE still (this was like 2017 or 2018) so I knew it would potentially wake up my stepmom too but like I was desperate for a fucking sanity check O__O luckily my dad was a night owl and answered right away and he was weirdly patient when i told him what had happened, considering I was in my late 20s at the time and had no reasonable excuse to be losing my shit over a two-second clip from a bad Land Before Time knockoff from the 2000s...

and in other news? our cat is absolutely TERRIFIED of us opening the trash can??? he will and does often sit beside it just fine, but the instant anyone approaches the trash can to throw something away (like reaching for the lid) he BOLTS AS FAST AS HIS LITTLE PEETS CAN MOVE??????? like he is admittedly skittish about a lot of stuff but most thing he's scared of at least somewhat make sense. but the trash can thing? bruh. I would LOVE to know what is going on in that precious little walnut sized brain of his.

Welcome to my interest check! Here I will be searching for a nice, juicy, indulgent roleplay (or two). Ideally I want something dramatic and edgy that we can both sink our teeth into, combined with some mushy-gushy romance. If you enjoy romance, darker themes, tried and true tropes done well, and indulgent plots and characters, read on!

I’ll start by saying that there is a list of shit I go absolutely FERAL for, and at this point I know myself well enough to know that I need at least one (preferably more) of the following themes/tropes. Note that none of them on their own are at all mandatory, consider this a buffet to choose from. Also, some of the topics listed are definitely sensitive ones. I do my best to handle these themes with care and respect in RPs, but if you’re the type of person who has a “don’t romanticize mental illness” clause in their IC somewhere, we might not be a good match. XD

ROMANCE-- A necessity for me. I want romance to feature heavily, if not be the central focus of the RP.
Physically weak/fragile characters-- The quickest way to make me happy lmfao. I have a major thing for physical vulnerability. I really enjoy caregiving themes in RP. Give me someone for my character to look after and I’ll be overjoyed lmao. I also really enjoy playing AS the character being looked after as well, but have a preference for playing the caregiving role.
Drama/conflict/angst-- Also kind of a necessity, honestly. I don’t enjoy RP that is strictly happy and fluffy all the time. Having fluff to balance things out is always nice, of course, don’t get me wrong! But I’ll get bored very fast and lose interest if things are just mundane and ordinary. However I also should say I don’t love adversarial dynamics between the main pairing. Some conflict between the mains is fine and even welcome, but I am not at all an “enemies to lovers” or “hatemance” type of person. I’d like a lot of the drama to come from external events/characters, that the main pairing then weather together.
Hurt/comfort-- My absolute CRACK. This ties in with the caregiving thing for me, I just love it. The “hurt” element can arise from any number of scenarios, such as an abusive side character, or some kind of accident/calamity, a chronic illness, what have you!
Sickness/disability/disfigurement-- I would love it if one character has some kind of physical issue(s). Again, the caregiving thing, lmfao. I know, I know-- but I like what I like! I can’t help how my brain works!
Mental illness-- It’s fun to write. It’s dramatic. It’s a great way to create tension and conflict.
Eating disorders-- Yet AGAIN I must hearken back to my caregiving penchant, lmao. I love the idea of a fragile, sick character getting even more fragile and sick as their partner looks after them. Also a great way to introduce some drama and conflict~
Drugs/alcohol/addiction-- Nothing quite like a turbulent, passionate relationship fueled by substance abuse, teehee~
Taboo/forbidden romance-- I do love a good power imbalance, think student x teacher, doctor patient, therapist x client, etc.
Age difference-- Kind of another flavor of taboo or power imbalance, honestly. I will play my character pretty much whatever age you please!
Size difference-- I love a drastic size difference, and the strength imbalance that comes along with it! Give me your fragile, delicate, tiny little waif against a big, strong, mountainous man (or woman tbh)!!
Pregnancy-- I love when the pregnancy causes some physical struggles for the pregnant character. Bonus points for twins or more uwu (Mpreg and Fpreg are both welcomed!)


Now that we have all that out on the table, if you’re still with me, let’s talk plots and pairings!

First off, I will write basically any gender against any gender. I usually play cis men, and they are usually tops, but that’s not a hard and fast rule by any stretch. I do however usually prefer somewhat discreet “bedroom dynamics”-- that is, I enjoy having a top and bottom in most cases. I am trash for tropes, sue me. It doesn’t have to define everything about the characters, but I am a huge sucker for like a weak little bottom/sub getting swept off their feet/rescued by a great big powerful top/dom. Also, I enjoy love triangles and poly ships-- it kinda depends on the plot/pairing, but I do enjoy playing multiple mains.

Secondly, I’m presently pretty open to most settings as well. My favorites are probably modern and Victorian/Regency, but I am very open to others. Would like to also try Western. Medieval fantasy is on the table, as is sci-fi (though I don’t have much experience with sci-fi, I’m open to it). I’d say the only settings I’d be hesitant about, would be apocalyptic type of settings, superheroes, and historical settings prior to the 1800s, as history was never my best subject and I’m not sure I have a great handle on the vibes lmao.

And finally, I’ll put a couple plot bunnies out there for the hell of it. I don’t have many grand ideas for plots, generally I like to bounce off my partner and create something organically. These will likely all need some work before we get started, but there’s a little bit more substance to them than just “Someone x Someone”. Happy to play these as pretty much any gender combination, and I’m happy to take any role(s).

An ailing noble/royal (medieval fantasy or Victorian/Regency) with an incurable condition or curse is caught in an entanglement with the bodyguard who looks after them, as well as the court physician trying to cure them.
An estranged (step)-parent receives custody of their (step)-son/daughter/enby after they are cripplingly injured in an accident, or come down with a chronic, incurable illness.
A doctor falls for their patient, then deliberately makes them worse so that they won’t get away.
During the 1920s, a mafia boss falls for an ethereal and sickly jazz singer in one of his clubs.
A playwright, who also happens to be a war veteran (time period is up for discussion) meets a sheltered noble/aristocrat who is enamored with their work. The playwright invites the noble to an after-party, kicking off a turbulent affair between them, wherein the sheltered noble is corrupted and drawn into a life of vice, while the playwright grapples with his own trauma and addiction.
A house-bound noble with some kind of disabling condition falls for their gardener, as the two bond over a love of nature and beauty.
Alice in Wonderland, but instead of a rabbit hole it's drugs? Alternatively, the rabbit hole is Alice's dreams, which soon start to leak into reality. Is it magic, or is she losing it? And what kind of wonders and horrors does she manifest in her waking life?
A sailor who feels he has nothing to live for throws himself into the ocean one night during a storm. He is saved by a siren/merperson. The siren/merperson, possessing the capability to transform and walk on land for a time, decides to come look after the sailor for a while to ensure he doesn't off himself, and feelings rapidly develop between them. "Fish out of water" feels with the merperson experiencing our world for the first time-- perhaps they've always wanted this, or perhaps they're learning "humans aren't so bad after all". But also (because I'm me) being on land weakens the merperson dramatically and progressively over time, even in spite of frequent baths etc. And/or the merperson is suffering from some kind of illness/curse/condition. Perhaps someone discovers their secret, and they are hunted/sought after. Perhaps we can contrive a way for the sailor to then join the merperson in their home for a while. Likely modern or historical.


Lastly, I’ll say a little bit about myself: I’m trans masc nonbinary (he/they), in case anyone cares (your gender is immaterial to me, all are welcome). My posting schedule fluctuates wildly depending on my mental health, there will likely be gaps in my IC activity. That said, I love and appreciate OOC chat, and at this point it’s kind of a must for me. Not only do I enjoy making friends with my partners, but I find that it’s hard for me to maintain interest without any sort of connection OOC. Also, if we are simpatico, I’m much more able to be frank with you when my mental state isn’t good and things slow down. 

The length of my posts varies, I tend to roughly mirror what I’m given but I do like to write a fairly decent amount. Usually 4-6 paragraphs, give or take. Would prefer a partner with a bit more advanced writing level, though I’m also not a writing snob or elitist weirdo. You don’t have to be the best writer ever, but when posts are riddled with spelling and grammatical errors I find it challenging to get immersed.
