Current I'm tempted to say "I've lost better friends than you" to a lote of people lately. I'm not sure what I ever want to say to the better friends that I've lost, though.

Bio

Twelve years ago, I said something on this website that continues to embarrassing me to this day. I was a stupid kid, like most, but I've never quite gotten the taste out of my mouth. Anyone who knew me at the time can tell you about it.

I love this website. I'm pretty sure my phylactery is stored wherever the webserver is and a significant chunk of me will just disappear when it ceases operation. Until then, it comforts me. I should go to the hardware store and paint my bedroom walls with the same soft, brownish grey that the background color has been for the last twelve years. Some of my friends can't wait for the site to go offline but I don't know of any other places that offer the same sense of community.

I'm an omni-gamer. I like board games, tabletop roleplaying games, admire tabletop war games, suck at riddles, and have an absurd library of video games. Survival horror is basically my favorite genre. Otherwise I'm a fan of esoteric, occult bullshit and punk rock. But disco's cool. Disco is what humanity sounds like when it chooses to be happy. Between you and I, I'd like to hope that the days of my life can sparkle like a disco ball, accreting like sparks from a grinder held up against the unwavering dark of deaths own shadow. Burn baby burn.

You and I, we're gonna die. We should be friends first, though. Write some checks we can't cash and make eachother smile. Make believe for a while.

Species Name
Omega-Humana, frequently shortened to Omegas.

Species Description
Omega-Humanoids are digital life forms housed inside of a ball shaped head that can be connected to a variety of bodies. The original members of Omega-Humana had been Homo Sapiens liberated from aging bodies who had their consciousness digitized and transferred to metal bodies more or less compatible with their nervous systems. The result was that they lost the need for sleep, food, and, among other things, water. As long as their solar powered generators function, they can carry on with life. Unless the digital brain itself is damaged, their bodies can be repaired, or altered within certain limitations. As with humans, they can develop mental illnesses, with no accessible coders skilled to successfully fine-tune the mind. Unlike humans, if a digital backup of the mind exists, they can be restored to a prior state. They are capable of reproduction, but instead of genetic material, they conpositely produce a digital zygote program that can be downloaded into a body, with no biological-type development. As a result, they are as strong at birth as they will ever be. They can be given new bodies, so long as they are compatible, developing software compatible with life is not easy, cheap, or fast, but over the centuries many forms have been made. The only thing that is necessary to switch bodily forms is have the head manually placed in an appropriate position on the new body.

Nation Name
The Empire of Fleshly Succession, often abbreviated as The EFS, is their chosen identity.

Nation Size
Seven Stars, with a population of Four Billion living and Six Hundred and Fifty Thousand in a repairable state.

Nation Description
Around 2460, mankind was faced by a plague that deteriorated genetic material rapidly. With hope to raising the dead, several alternatives to chryogenics were explored. As a result, dying or recently deceased individuals became liberated intelligences, placed in mechanical bodies, typically in return for a large sum of cash. Naturally, they differed from humanity and had various skirmishes before their production was legally halted on planet Earth, their differences too large to overcome.

Conveniently, they had no need for air, so they went to the moon, seized an International Space Station, and called it home before creating a factory to produce bodies for their young. Before long, they'd created a workforce that harvested the moon's natural resources to create their own fleet of starships. Exploring the cosmic sea, they made it to a distant star system, finding a planet of biologically based and primitive sentients. On this venture, they developed a more universal way of liberating intelligences that worked on non-humans.

The group of Omega-Humanoids, as they were then called, had previously been a true democracy. But following the introduction of the new species, it became a simple caste society, with liberated humans reigning. Naturally, the balance of power called for a leader of the ruling class, so the authority gradually shifted to the point where power was held by a central ruler. At this phase, in the year 2523, The Empire of Fleshly Succession was born.

The emperor himself has since developed a small set of goals: Obtain more power and influence, prove the ESF superior to similar electronic life forms, and develop as many physical forms as possible. To meet these goals, The Emperor has long been choosing to wage warfare with no end in sight.

Nation Involvement
They fight as a result of Imperial Command. An order existing partially because of a desire to consume the planet's resources, partially to analyze the wide range of technologies on the battlefield, and partially to show the Emperor's strength. As individuals, many of them fight because it's literally what they exist to do. On the other hand, some dreamy-eyed trainees want to come out as heroes that helped win the Century Slaughter. But others are afraid of being charged with desertion and suffering from the ESF's severe punishment. But as electronic life forms who existed to surpass human health, many see ending the conflict through conquest as the only realistic road to peace.

-

Technology
The ESF, or even Omega-Humana as a whole, is a highly advanced race, given they are electronic life-forms. Their ability to program new types of bodies, convert other life-forms, and even resurrect themselves testifies to this. Their focus on alternate bodies and lack of typical biological needs has motivated them to create bodies of mass destruction instead of things like vehicles. From a certain perspective, even a basic humanoid body is a vehicle. In their alternate bodies, they manipulate various branches of technology and science to give themselves a militaristic edge.

Navy Description
The ESF consciously avoids use of star ships for battle, given that there is already a great amount of people who make such effective use of them that it would be foolish to compete. To this end, they've instead worked to produce simple, but effective ships made to protect their troops rather than take the enemy down.

Air Force Description
The ESF fights its air battles with small, highly maneuverable combatants designed to exploit the weaknesses of aircraft. The troops are often too small to be recognized as a ship by machines, and may be confused for wildlife by a radar.

Ground Force Description

Common Armaments

Headquarters
The base of operations is a large complex, like an inverted tower, it is mostly underground. It's exterior walls are electrified and guarded by a team of Omegas called Terminus. In order to enter the base, the visitor must be disassembled and reassembled inside the building, this is to minimize the possibility of intruders seizing the facility. Inside, the commanding officers discuss tactics at the very bottom floor. It's walls are heavily durable, and a foundation literally made of titanium surrounds the entirety of the base, not counting the entrance. Those who know where to look can find it beneath the bed of a river outside the Desert Straits.

Persons of Importance
The Emperor, his name was long ago forgotten
Rezolv, the first Omega-Humanoid born electronically
Kyro, present head engineer for the design committee
Erojon, present general in charge of the forces on Anuria
Khill, Vezar, Lupus, and Scythe are the four admirals who control four separately operating armies underneath General Erojon
Only a few hours left until I'm off work to review all the new content in detail.

We can start up within a few days, promise! Hopefully in even less time.

On a side note, would anybody be interested in assuming the role of co-gm? I'd hate to get swamped and the extra help is always good.

I'd be interested, if for no other reason than to mine the experience, and I like this game so far.

Indeed. Because the original specimens were human minds, and only sentient life forms can be converted, all their mental faculties are on par with humanity. Some will even wish they had flesh.

Wanted to compliment you on the first post in a few days, it was well written and I'm really excited to see Aquaman on the surface with the rest of us. As soon as the collab between @Gowi and I is done, I will be moving the plot along with a meet up between our characters. I might do that as GL since it doesn't seem like Krab is coming back anytime soon, if it is okay with @BlackSam3091 I'll probably get Hal to bring Bats to Metropolis. Once we all meet up we will be attacking Brainiac's mothership ASAP.

Once we finish origins up, side-kicks will become available for applications. If anyone wants to take a shot at Kara,(Supergirl if you didn't already know), go right ahead. I'm officially releasing her to the public.

Thanks, V-Man. I appreciate the appreciation, it's kinda refreshing. But I'm enjoying it, just curious to see how this goes.
Hi, I'm Nightrunner. You can call me whatever. Friends have called me Night and NR, Runner too on occasion. I'm a decent writer, with definite sci-fi interests and concepts. I also sketch. But, I've never played in an NRP, and I'd like to try this one. It seems very polished and logically structured.

I'll likely have a sheet together soon. I just have to dwell on my ideas. Still, if all goes well, you'll have snagged yourself a new player.
Justice League Origins

The Castle Foyer
The Lost City of Atlantis

The glossy orange scale mail Orin was wearing immediately registered in his mind as the poorest choice for a stealth mission. But fortunately, this was not the time for stealth, he'd already taken back his fortress, now was the time for action, to repel whatever invaders had come to his home. Hopefully, the colorful garb of an Atlantean military general in chief would inspire his troops rather than paint a target on his back.

"King Orin, the surface dwellers are outside the castle walls, the royal guard is holding them back as best they can, but they've quickly become overwhelmed and have had several casualties."

The King thought for a tense moment before opting to preserve the lives of his men. "Tell them all they have permission to retreat without penalty," he said, balancing his trident in hand before peeking through the peephole of his giant door.

The courtyard was a mess of clustered comrades landing endlessly fruitless strokes against the titanic machines. They were developed for the subaquatic conditions. Rather than having legs to stand on, they resembled mechanical 'mermen' with tails covered by sturdy yet flexible overlapping plates that trailed their slender, powerful torsos with tentacles and bulbous heads on their shoulders.

"Garth, execute the beached whale maneuver as many times as it will work," he confidently commanded his younger associate as he cracked the door, slipping through it and into his courtyard.

"Yes, my lord," he uttered as he closely matched the path of his king.

The two of them swam right up to the most exhausted looking lone guardsman, Arthur laid a heavy hand on his shoulder, relieving him of the battle. The behemoths' tentacles swished around Arthur, preparing to wrap him like an a boa would to a rabbit. But the efforts were countered by Orin thrusting his trident and snagging the tentacles in the spaces between it's points. To limit it's use of them, he spun his trident's handle, with the appendages reduced to spaghetti on a fork when the king forced the weapon into the soil beneath his feet. Taking advantage of the opening, Garth began to summon a skyward column of light that touched down on the grounded machine before spreading out into a bubble, trapping it in a pocket of air that proved debilitating to the aquatic war machine.

As it squirmed on the coral that took place of the grass found outside surface castles, the fight was made easier when by the fact that it was being crushed by its own weight. Focusing the power his whole soul into his fists, with every bit of resolve he could scrounge up, Arthur broke the hull of the machine, plunging his fist into its core and ripping out everything that felt important. Naturally, the jagged edges left scratches on his gloves, but they were designed for extreme protection. In a matter of seconds, a black stream of oil began to leak, so Orin stopped. One of the very reasons that Atlanteans despised surface dwellers, with complete rationality when you're unbiased about the subject, was the plague of black blood that had left a trail of death wherever the current would take it. He couldn't have that. So with the utmost haste, he snatched a nearby sponge from the seafloor and packed it into the breech.

As the sponge blackened, it still bled out like it was a bottle tipped upside down. A few of the royal guardsmen had their battle mages perform the same feat to the best of their ability. But they all were horrified by the liquid death that spouted from the metal corpses. Even though the tide had turned in their favor, Arthur was unwilling to be responsible for any amount of his subjects dying from toxic ingestion.

"Garth, you are now the leader of Atlantis. Forget my palace, find Vulko, and protect my people. I have to go," to protect the denizens of the deep, he was willing to risk his throne, even his life. "With Atlantis under attack, I have no choice but to get help. Metropolis' Superman would even be appreciated," he said, not realizing how much of the world was being razed by the invaders. But, at that, Orin pressed off, bursting through the water like a giant bullet. Within hours, he'd be on the coast of America.

Watching the king swim away, Garth was confused and shocked. He'd never set foot on dry land and hadn't a clue what Metropolis or a Superman was.
