In order to get people to stop bothering her, Eugene pretends as if she doesn't speak English when people approach her though the ruse has only sort of backfired; with the belief that Eugene doesn't speak English, she often became the go-to person for people to gossip to. When Eugene is alone in the lunch room, eating lunch as one does, it was not an uncommon sight for people to sit opposite her and just dish.

Likes:

• Keeping Up With the Kardashians. No, she likes keeping up with them. Like...like the name of the show. It's a joke!
• Every single reality show where the end goal is 'finding your soulmate' even though it's a very, very small pool of potential suitors. It gives her hope.
• Bloody Mary's. Well really almost any drink but Eugene loves a Bloody Mary and will have way too many if left unchecked.
• Closing a sale and getting that commission.
• Playing poker, but ever since she cleaned out some now-gone employees people don't tend to invite her to poker games.

History

What Brings You to Dunder Mifflin: When she first applied it was for a position in accounting and only because financial institutions, like banks, were not returning her calls despite her meeting the qualifications. Her first position was terminated, that being in the accounting department of a big-name retailer (no, it isn't Wal Mart, why does everyone always assume Wal-Mart?) However, a mix-up in the paperwork saw Eugene put in the sales department. She didn't bother correcting the mistake, what with her feigning ignorance of the language and all, and now has been here for so long that it would be career suicide to leave now. Not exactly what she imagined for herself, but at least she has a job.

Life Up To This Point: Han YooJin was born in Korea, Busan to be a bit more precise, to parents who had tried unsuccessfully for years to bear a child. Yoo Jin's father was killed in a traffic accident and her mother, unable to support the burden of raising a child on her own in a bustling environment, did the only thing that made sense: asked her brother to look after Yoo Jin. Yoo Jin was sent to live with her uncle Gae who lived in America. Yoo Jin was desperate to stay in Korea, to remain with her mother, but no amount of pleading and crying could get her off the plane.

It was immigration that wound up giving her the name 'Eugene'. A mispronunciation by the obese uniformed officer to his superior and suddenly 'Han Yoo Jin' was 'Eugene Han'. This did not go over super well with the American children and teens that she went to school with. It was shockingly difficult to get people to understand that 'Yoo Jin' and 'Eugene' were different things. It's quite possible that her 'thing' with people started as a result of teasing.

Uncle Gae was a sous chef in a fancy French restaurant and in her spare time Eugene helped out by washing dishes. It was her way of paying back her uncle for looking after her, plus it gave her some spending cash. This work ethic of hers continued through to college, where she had to work for her tuition, first as a busgirl then as a full-on waitress, then later as a tutor for those in the economics program. The happiest day of her life was the day she graduated university with a degree in Anthropology; but none of her family was there to see it. Her mother was busy in Busan and hadn't really made any effort to keep in touch and Uncle Gae was behind bars after it was discovered that the French restaurant was really a front for a criminal organization. Uncle Gae was the fall guy and Eugene was not about to bail him out. That life was not for her.

Her education got her foot in the door as an accountant, but that job fell through thanks to downsizing. She was good at what she did, but just didn't seem to fit the corporate image, whatever the hell that meant. Her resume was fished out to various places in hopes to find a job and the only place to call her back in a timely manner was Dunder Mifflin.

He's one of the few that has been with the company longer than she has and wonders if he resents her for getting to be the Head of Sales over him.

It works out nicely, Eugene doesn't expect much from interns anyway and Gwen doesn't seem to take any interest in being chatty. They don't associate much and that's perfect with Eugene.

Eugene is glad to 'not speak English' when it comes to people like Declan. If it wouldn't mean ruining her six year wall of language barriers she'd call him out on many things she's been witness to since he arrived. Instead she just shakes her head every time he wants to get something started. And he may not notice it, but she laughs every time he changes around Nana Darling.

It's not clear exactly where the two stand, but Nana is rather adamant at being friendly with Eugene, who is slowly caving under the pressure that is Nana's positive attitude.

She doesn't show it but it's nice to have a near-consistent source of positive vibes, even if it gets tiring after a while.

What he does to his body with nicotine is his business as is how he interacts and treats others; he does his work, does it well, and that's more than enough for her.

Yoo Jin was sent to live with her uncle Gae who lived in America. Yoo Jin was desperate to stay in Korea, to remain with her mother, but no amount of pleading and crying could get her off the plane.

It was immigration that wound up giving her the name 'Eugene'. A mispronunciation by the obese uniformed officer to his superior and suddenly 'Han Yoo Jin' was 'Eugene Han'. This did not go over super well with the American children and teens that she went to school with. It was shockingly difficult to get people to understand that 'Yoo Jin' and 'Eugene' were different things. It's quite possible that her 'thing' with people started as a result of teasing.

Uncle Gae was a sous chef in a fancy French restaurant and in her spare time Eugene helped out by washing dishes. It was her way of paying back her uncle for looking after her, plus it gave her some spending cash. This work ethic of hers continued through to college, where she had to work for her tuition, first as a busgirl then as a full-on waitress, then later as a tutor for those in the economics program. The happiest day of her life was the day she graduated university with a degree in Anthropology; but none of her family was there to see it. Her mother was busy in Busan and hadn't really made any effort to keep in touch and Uncle Gae was behind bars after it was discovered that the French restaurant was really a front for a criminal organization. Uncle Gae was the fall guy and Eugene was not about to bail him out. That life was not for her.

Her education got her foot in the door as an accountant, but that job fell through thanks to downsizing. She was good at what she did, but just didn't seem to fit the corporate image, whatever the hell that meant. Her resume was fished out to various places in hopes to find a job and the only place to call her back in a timely manner was Dunder Mifflin.

I just came here to say 2 things since you can't post this in the status bar and have me not make a comment or two:
1) ew overwatch
2) What's the big deal about people playing as Bastion?

2: Before the game became officially available (read: during the beta) people who were not used to this idea of counter picks and team composition were bitching that Bastion was OP because his turret mode can just mow down idiots rushing in like an idiot. Cries of people going "NERF BASTION" came over the hills and Blizzard just said "learn other heroes you fucks" and left it at that. People started to understand that most Bastion plays are idiots who don't move and either take him out from afar with rockets/snipes or just get behind him and shoot the glowing weak spot.

Mostly the Bastion thing that gets people mad is that he often gets POTG, which is what people use to stroke their dicks because they can hit the Q button better than the other people and Bastion just sitting down and holding the shoot button is a boring thing to see.

Almost as boring as seeing you peek around a corner and hit Q you scrubs.

Also I guess we can hang whatever Fabricant#1736 but I'll cut you if you pick Ana before me but also I play a mean good Mercy and D. Va and really all the girls except Widow and then also sometimes The Hog.

B!tchfest: a healthy release for our non-roleplay annoyances.

I hate it when white people are like: "Hey I'm a nerdy white guy AND I listen to hip hop" as if that is some sort of fucking world breaking news. As if 70-80% of the consumers of urban music arent white to begin with. Like you're not special, sit down.

Just as bad when you have black guys, like "Hey I'm a black guy, but I like a bit of Taylor swift" Like shes damn near the highest selling artist in the world, its called pop music for a reason, you boring asshole.

If you think the (supposed) juxtaposition of your race and your hobbies/preferences are worth announcing, then you clearly aren't that interesting to begin with.
