Current You'd think after like 15 years I'd stop feeling like a fraud when writing posts but I still do which is both a statement on my self confidence and a compliment to how good my partners are as writers

trying to find a positive conversation about the game on the interwebs is like trying to find a good episode of the walking dead.

I'm not sure what Drew Scanlon has to do with Bethesda making shit games but okay.

Pokemon Sun and Moon are slow as hell, hyper linear even for a pokemon game, restricted fishing, minimal post game content, cut scene every two fucking seconds, No Gyms, No Special Training, cumbersome link menu/festival/bullshit and map that somehow had even MORE water than Hoenn. Yes the pokemon community have huge problems with sun and moon, and the fact that they also had problems with X/Y doesn't change that.

This is sounding more like your issues with the game rather than the community as a whole. No Gyms was a good thing though. Making Pokemon at least try to offer something new in terms of structure instead of doubling down on the same shit and making a boring game like X/Y was the best thing Sun and Moon did.

Much like with DA2 and DAI and Mass Effect 3 and Mass Effect Andromeda its very possible for a fanbase to be disappointed twice in a row.

Dragon Age 2 is an underrated game. And Inquisition was largely positive within the community when the game came out - partially because it wasn't Dragon Age 2 again and then the BioWare thing happened where six months passed and people started going "Man, Dragon Age 2 wasn't that bad" and more of Inquisition's flaws started being dragged through the mud.

And I'm not the hugest fan of either F4 or DmC but they got good reviews so my original point still stands.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Would you say that anyone would say Fallout 4 or DmC were under-rated? I could maybe see someone who only saw the negative response to DmC from the internet and think that it's underrated because they liked it, but Fallout 4 was one of the biggest games of its year and outside of the (factually correct) people that were talking about how shit it is the reception was insanely positive in pretty much every community. Hell, there were literal actual shills upset that an actual game reviewer had the audacity to give the PC version of the game 4 stars out of five.

By what metric are games considered under-rated? Community response? Critical? Sales? Or just personal opinion. Because when something is getting solid 9s and 10s and a multitude of Game of the Year awards across publications it's hard to see when the under-rated aspect comes into play.

A game can review well and be under-rated. Ori and the Blind Forest is an example of that, Titanfall 2 as well, as is Hitman from last year though that one can be chalked up to its release method.

Pepe wouldn't even be seen as anything other than the shit tier meme that it is if it wasn't for Clinton's campaign taking the fucking dumb frog and /pol/ and a photoshop seriously. If Pepe is a symbol of white supremacy it got there because of the left.

Some games are praised by critics but hated by fanbases

See Fallout 4, DmC, Pokemon Sun/Moon

Inquisition isn't exactly one of those games though considering the fanbase was already shattered with Dragon Age 2. I'm just wondering what makes Inquisition underrated since by all accounts it was anything but. Yeah there were people that didn't like it but BioWare fans are some of the most glasses-pushing-up overly critical never happy people in the medium.

Since when did the Pokemon base hate Sun and Moon? By all accounts it seemed more positive than X/Y were at any rate.

Also Fallout 4 and DmC are trash games for trash people and Bethesda needs to stop getting free passes for releasing broken shitty messes that make no sense and piss over everything in established lore. Also what fucking idiots at Ninja Theory make an action game with fucking color coded weapon mechanics and shitty flow stop trying to make action games cinematic you fucks that's why Hellblade is a boring fucking game to play.
There was only the faint sound of the edge of a bowl being met by a utensil in the otherwise still kitchen. The table, typically a place for a family to dine together, was presently sitting one person: a young girl with striking ivory hair, a headband, and in her school uniform. Her hands were placed on the edge of the bowl which she lifted to her lips and gingerly sipped from. This particular scene was not unusual. Breakfast at the Kimoto house was a solo affair. Dinner wasn't much better. Lunch also had a habit of being consumed alone even though the chatter of other students helped drown out the sound of a lunchbox opening and being put away. It was practically a routine at this point, breakfast. Wake up before the sun came up, usually around five in the morning, properly bathe and wash up, crack an egg and fry it, serve over rice and natto and add the miso soup. By the time the breakfast was prepared and eaten, there was still enough time to make a lunch for school.

On an average day, Sara Kimoto was out of the house and on the train to school with enough time to spare. While students typically started to arrive around eight, Sara could often be found on school grounds as early as seven thirty; though at that time she didn't make her way to her home room but rather sat on the school grounds in a little garden area off to the side. The kind of area typically reserved for confessions of affection as the area was out of view from the entrance and main grounds and typically only visible from the ground or the roof. Sara didn't do anything in the garden other than sit and let the breeze lightly brush her hair. It was peaceful, though when it rained she had nowhere to go other than under an awning which was far less peaceful.

Sara made her way inside the school proper with around ten minutes to spare which was plenty of time to go to her shoe locker and up the single flight of stairs to her classroom. Rarely was Sara the first one inside the class but even when she would say good morning to those who were already inside she often didn't get much in the way of a response. Still, it was customary to greet one's classmates, wasn't it? Sara settled into her seat, middle of the first row right next to a window, and placed her head down.

Her eyes blinked when she was addressed and she only managed to make out a select few words. "Joining...club...hope...there..." Sara blinked once more without saying anything before the speaker left. "Yamazowa-san?" That's who it was, right? Sara knew the names of her classmates due to her being chosen as class representative. That had to have been her. Maoko Yamazawa.

Sara looked down at the flyer on her desk. "Esports? Eh-sports? Es-ports?" The words on the flyer confused her, but she figured she would have a chance to ask about them later. After all, where was the harm in at least going to the club room for the sake of curiosity. Though she was confused by what Esports was, once class started properly - and after she had led the class in rising and bowing for the arrival of their teacher - Sara sank back into her seat and rested her head on her desk as she did day after day.
Not to be 'that person' but didn't Inquisiton score fairly highly across multiple metrics?
6 million targeted at an innocent ethnic group vs. Six million targeted on a dangerous political group responsible for even more deaths. I can't believe people aren't quite clever enough to decide which is worse.

But are they really innocent? I mean they gave us Seinfeld and that's years of sitcom that we can't take back.
