Current You'd think after like 15 years I'd stop feeling like a fraud when writing posts but I still do which is both a statement on my self confidence and a compliment to how good my partners are as writers

If Kiara's eyes had rolled any harder they would have been on the ground by now. It wasn't the juvenile delinquent officer that had Kiara so immediately skeptical; he was just doing his job. It was a shitty job, yes, but he was every bit as stuck on this weekend as the juveniles. It was her supposed character builders in arms that had Kiara damn near doubled over in laughter and blatant disbelief. Surely they weren't serious, right? They must have been Angel Grove High students, only they could be so pointedly arrogant for no real reason. She glanced at the others in kind when they spoke, a subtle glance with narrowed eyes as they told her, through body language or verbal, everything she needed to know.

There was the strong silent type, that being the male who didn't talk - if Kiara had to guess she'd assume he just wanted to be done with this and then go throw Frisbee in the park or something equally stupid. He definitely didn't stand out, which was probably more to his favor. He might well have understood what Kiara already had: none of these people were friends. Kiara was only going to see them for four hours one day for a month and then they'd never see each other again. Why try to make 'nice'.

There was Ms. Attitude who thought she was the alpha in this pack. That would have made Kiara smile if it wasn't so obvious. The dog who barked the loudest was the bitch that backed down. Anyone who wore a leather vest to manual labor was either trying to act like a boss bitch without actually being one, or else they were into some fucked up kinky shit. It stopped being a fashion statement in the late nineties and someone clearly didn't get the memo. Kiara would take her down first in a fight not because she was a threat, but because she would go down easily.

While Kiara was thinking of going down, she had to admit that the volunteer definitely looked good in a skirt. It was a shame they were given pokers but then, Kiara figured volunteer girl over there wasn't the type to bend forward to pick something up unless she was trying to seduce a teacher to get her out of a failing grade. Which was a shame as Kiara was curious if the pink was just the skirt. It was a shame that a good pair of legs went to a personality that, even from the brief introduction, Kiara knew was foul. Leather vest had it wrong. Volunteer wasn't a princess. She was a priss-ass. And that was worse. Kiara still would.

The other boy was trying a bit too hard there. So much so that Kiara assumed it was a failed attempt at lightening the mood. Everyone was going to call him Chris now, be it out of spite or because Christian didn't roll off the tongue as easily. She didn't care what he did but he didn't seem like he could hurt a fly let alone another person which really watered down his threat. If she had to guess? This was the first time a girl was even talking to him, and even then it was easier to say that girls were talking around him. If leather vest was all talk, then this dude was even more harmless.

The odd woman out was the blonde and not because she was blonde but because she was...genuine. Kiara didn't know or care if the others noticed, but Peyton didn't belong here based solely on the fact that she wasn't trying to intimidate or be a bitch, she was genuinely trying to make the best of a situation that probably stained her otherwise spotless record. In other words, Peyton was a good girl who didn't go bad but now had to be stuck with 'bad' girls who weren't good. Out of everyone there, Kiara only felt bad for the blondie. Priss-ass was trying to show how much better she was for deigning to do community service, silent surfer bro was like a caveman trying to understand tools, leather vest was all talk, and guy number two was probably going to rub one out to the fact that four girls looked at him for a hot second. But Blondie? She was trying and Kiara hoped that this month long affair wouldn't ruin her.

Kiara, who had said nothing so far, half expected the others to look her way for an introduction, but it wouldn't come. Once the others had spoken, and even then she had started beforehand, she was already poking at garbage and dropping it into her bag. She didn't know these people, they didn't go to her school so what difference did it make if they knew her name or not? The only thing that mattered was that her orange vest didn't clash with her pants. Unfortunately, it did clash with her shirt but at least it wasn't leather.

Kiara was operating on a very specific policy: if they didn't talk to her, she wasn't going to talk to them. They were no different than the garbage she was putting in the bag.

Right but Persona 3 also got a rhythm dancing game, 4 animated films, a spin-off Anime series and its full cast along with 4's were both in the spotlight in Persona Q. There is no universe in which that game is overlooked, not now at least. Is there a general opinion that 4 is better 3? Sort of, its not exactly unanimous, sort of like the community bitching over FF7 vs FF6.

P5 is critically acclaimed by users and critics alike, its treated like the anime Witcher 3, I'd have to scour the internet long and hard to find people bitching about it not being good cause its not like 4, thats a niche right there.

Is 4 the weakest out 3,4,5? I think so, but by like a pube hair. I guess when talking about underrated and overrated games, it just seems like nitpicking titles from the same series which are like 9.7 9.4 and 9.9 out of 10 seems kinda redundant.

Persona 3 only got a dancing game because of Persona 4's, those Persona 3 recap movies? Came out after Persona 4's anime and was even teased in the theatrical release of Persona 4's anime movie. Every single piece of spin off media except for Trinity Soul can be followed back to Persona 4's explosive success. Persona 4 sold three times as much as Atlus expected and if it wasn't for Persona 4's runaway success then Persona 5's sales might not have been as good as they were.

Persona 5 is not treated like anime Witcher 3 (also that's a dumb comparison stop it), Persona 4 is. The argument for 4 vs 5 always boils down to personal preference, like which cast was better or which one had the weaker plot (5 for the former, 4 for the latter, natch) or people complaining that there's too much style or "Morgana won't let me leave" because they forgot all the times you were railroaded into sleeping in Persona 4 I guess.

I don't understand how you can't think Persona 4 can be overrated while also being a 9.0 game. Overrated doesn't mean bad.

But then Persona 5 has Futaba who is the worst so Persona 5 sucks now.
I mean I prefer 3 to 4 but are people really giving 4 undue massive acclaim that 3 wasn't getting?

Yes. 4 was many people's first Persona game. Persona 3 was still very niche in a very niche spin of franchise while Persona 4 was so widely regarded that it launched an anime, it held up the Vita for a few months, had a dancing game spin off, and its cast was the focal point of a fighting game spin off. Now of course the argument can be made that the fighting game is because of both Persona 4 and Persona 3 but the game was called Persona 4 Arena and it wasn't until the Super Turbo version that the rest of the P3 cast was thrown a bone and put in.

Persona 4 basically made Persona a more mainstream series (and no that isn't a bad thing) and even now it's not all that uncommon to hear someone be like "Yeah Persona 5 isn't Persona 4 so I didn't like it". The discussion on which cast is better happens all the time (spoiler alert: Persona 4 has the weakest cast) and that's always going to be a factor but for many, many people Persona 4 is the standard.

I'm not saying Persona 4 is bad, that's insane. But is it the weakest of the 3, 4, 5 'trilogy'? Yeah. Yeah it is.
Persona 3 is underrated.

And Persona 4 is overrated.

It feels good to say the truth.

Quite frankly I'm offended by all these casual scrubs polluting my high-society video game about flailing around excessively large swords, beating up dinosaurs, and kicking Cats in the head.

Yeah, it's like they don't even know what a checks notes on hand Rattin is!
I've always thought Monster hunter world was an overrated endeavor that tried to change way too much, way too fast. It's not a bad game, but it's certainly no masterpiece.

Funny though, because the entire Monster hunter series has become overrated as hell.

It's for normies now it sucks.
