In Aztec mythology, Quartz was known for shape shifting in his former life and past, taking on many human forms from male to female in a few stories. He's using male because he was like Mime thus it's more of a connection thing. Another possibility is that he doesn't know Mime's real natural and thus refers to Mime as him due to someone telling him it's polite when one doesn't know the person's gender to use the masculine pronoun. A final possibility is that he could've first met Mime in a male shape before he knew that Mime was Arlette was his holder. :p We only established how Nathair knew Arlette and Mime but never how they met.

I was aiming more from Quartz had seen Mime shift, outside battle, but not seem his real form. Mainly if Quartz and Mime discovered a certain Library employee who was mean to Arlette, I can't see Quartz allowing said Library to get away with that and would likely ask Mime's help in pranking, which was when he seen Mime's doppleganger ability. Other the that, his other abilities would likely come as a surprise. If you would like, Mime could've have transformed in Quartz sometimes which might be a fun memory for Lobby or something to play out. If you rather, I can edit it and omit it a bit. Either way doesn't bother me.
