Bio

You showed up.

One way or another, you've arrived at my profile. You've taken a wrong turn in an alleyway because you didn't pay enough attention to your map. You've heard of something cool and new and thought maybe you'd see what all the fuss is about? Or maybe it is that you noticed like me updating my status or were lurking through an RP or something I am in and just kinda clicked my profile, that happens too. Regardless, you'll come to learn that your actions have consequences. Not this one since you can always just, like, leave.

I have a few names and I don't mind being called whatever you fancy at that given time. KingofTheSpectrum, FamishedPants, ChadChadlainn. Any derivative of these is fine as well. Most tend to use Pants, however. I'm nearing my thirties and enjoy games, anime, V-tubers, and visual novels. You can find my still-obsolete list here as it contains everything important on it.

As for games particularly, I am a huge fan of Devil May Cry, Metal Gear Solid, Nier and its sequel, FFXIV, and recently, Project Wingman.I tend to lean towards shooters and action games, but I have also wasted 8+ years on League of Legends. I think the only games I tend to avoid are card games and sports games, but there can always be exceptions.

For anime, I tend to watch whatever looks entertaining. It doesn't have to be good. I've seen a lot of the generic, poor-quality isekai harems that are out there. It's difficult to remember what I actually genuinely like, but Chaika the Coffin Princess comes to mind, as well as FMA: Brotherhood. I'm currently enjoying Tokyo Revengers.

I've read my fair share of visual novels, as my list would tell you. I can't recommend going through Muv Luv Extra/Unlimited, then playing Alternative enough! Big fan of Rance, Grisaia no Kajitsu, and Demonbane as well. I could probably go on and on about them, but I'll stop here.

Also, fuck you, Broken.

"What bad taste vampires have!"

Well maybe her nephew should be reading better books! -- is what Kurou wanted to say, but did not so as not to appear any more stupid than he already did. How could you fault him for not being into those boring collections of paper? He liked playing sports and he liked moving around. Movies and books did not satisfy this requirement in the least, so it was fairly rare that he ever bothered to watch them. And ever since he was tricked into watching a movie about ghosts, he had been rather cautious in what he viewed nowadays.

"Well I am glad your nephew is five and has seen vampires before. But since he is your nephew, would that not be weird if he did not know about them?" Kurou asked, his sour tone unhidden as he replied.

"Fine! I'll explain!" Hikari suddenly stated, moving over to a flag and casually taking it from the wall and flinging it onto her back. Now wearing the flag-cape, she returned to Kurou and took a pose with the cape covering a majority of her face. "Creatures of the night, we catch our prey by careful observation and patience and strike at the right time!" she said, quickly glancing left and right. She looked rather ridiculous in Kurou's opinion. Was she supposed to be scar---

Immediately, Kurou hopped back, startled by the sudden shout.

"H-hey, don't do that!" he told her. "If I had a more violent reaction to that, you wouldn't be able to attend school for the day. Or... well, for a while." He didn't bother to go into detail about it.

Apparently she did not hear him or just did not care enough, because Hikari decided that instead of acknowledging his warning, she would ignore what he said minutes ago about getting too close to people by hugging him. He did not particularly dislike it, but it did feel weird to be touched so often by a girl he had only just met. Why was she so touchy?

Separating herself from him just enough so she could look him in the eyes, she continued on about vampires. "Vampires have a keen sense of smell and eyes that can look through the dark, they also have very sharp teeth that can be used to suck the blood of the prey!" she informed him.

Wait, what? That sounds horrible! Blood tastes all... uh, ironey. Why would anybody want to drink it?

Perhaps disturbed for the wrong reason, Kurou couldn't keep his expression from turning sour. "Is that true?! How terrifying!" He was, of course, referring to the fact that anybody would want to suck blood because of how bad it tasted.

The prickly feeling was unpleasant, and just as anybody might, he had assumed she had just bit him out of nowhere. "Hey! I need that blood for... well, living!" he quickly grabbed the spot on his neck where she had "bitten" him as Hikari moved away. Of course, it became clear that she was teasing him when she pricked his neck with her fingers and it left Kurou feeling a bit upset that he had been rused.

But also relieved. He did not want to lose blood!

"O-oh, okay."

At least he did not seem to mind it too much.

"Well! This should explain as much as you need to know! Keep it engraved in that thing of yours." she told him.

"I will." Kurou answered, scratching the back of his head. A couple of moments passed before he noticed something wrong. "Hey, what do you mean "thing"?" he questioned.

"Vampires are the ones who eat brains, yes?"

Well, as long as she doesn't do that anymore, I guess I can probably overlook it this one time.

Because this was the first time he had to deal with being touched inappropriately, Kurou wondered just how someone would be charged. It was technically an offense against two different people, as they shared a body. Would Hikari be charged twice? A double whammy? This was a very important question to ponder, maybe he should ask Shizu for her opinion on the subject when she woke up. Yeah, that would be the best thing to do, because you never knew when somebody might attack you. Perhaps in her own way, Hikari had inadvertently saved the twins from being unprepared for just such an occasion.

Kurou closed his eyes and expressed his gratitude silently, thinking that Hikari must be an especially nice person to be watching out for complete strangers.

Arigato, Hikari-san.

"As long as you don't make it a habit." Kurou replied, watching the girl's playful body language. Even if he hadn't wrongfully decided that she was doing that to help him prepare for the cold, rough future ahead of him, he might have forgiven her simply by her playful body language. She couldn't have meant much by it.

Rather than stop this expressive body of hers, she continued with increased vigor, bending sideways and flashing her brilliant smile. She really seemed to be somebody who wanted nothing more than to enjoy the moment, and that was exactly what Kurou wanted to a degree. Caring about anything boring was pointless, wasn't it?

"Ha? Well, you don't need to tell me if you don't wanna."

In that case, Kurou would just assume she was some form of demi. Hikari, while fairly enjoyable to be around so far, was nowhere near normal. That wasn't bad or anything. Rather, in Kurou's book, that made it better. Normal was often boring. Boring was bad. Bad was... well, not good. He hoped other demis he would meet would also own refreshing personalities.

Hikari ended up showing him her teeth. He was confused, did she want to show him that she brushed? Yes, good dental hygiene was important to nail down when you were about their age. He was impressed with how white they seemed to be. Although, oddly there was a problem with a few of her teeth. They did not seem as though they belonged on a person. Was it some sort of illness?

Oh wait! No, she wanted to show me those teeth because that was evidence that she was not human!

He had it all figured out. He was absolutely silly to think she was just showing off good hygiene. Since they were talking about the subject, she obviously wanted to show him a sign of what she was! This was it! Now that he had realized it, it was easy to figure out what she was.

"Ah, I see! You must be one of those zombies I've heard about, aren't ya?" he asked.

"Vampire! I'm a vampire!"

Crud. It appeared as though he guessed incorrectly. Well, he spent more time outside than in, and he hadn't seen any other demis in person before so it could not be helped.

"Sorry, I'm not too good with this kind of thing. I have only been around humans and I don't really read books or watch tv, aside from certain action shows." he explained. Well, perhaps he should return the favor.

But how?

It would be rude to try to wake Shizu, and now that he thought about it... he was always a bit embarrassed to explain this to somebody. Perhaps he should let Shizu do it later?

"Huh... I don't think I can show you anything right now, I'm afraid. My situation's a bit... complicated." he confessed.
@Rune_Alchemist

Well, that should not be a problem as the twins do not require a bed. One is always awake at a given time. But it would be nice if you did not spook Shizu too much while she's studying at night.

"I need an adult!"

Kurou would have to admit that he found it fairly impressive to be this bubbly on the first day of school. That was something he was not quite capable of. He also found himself impressed with how active she was in conversation. It was almost a workout just to keep track of everything she was doing. She was certainly a more expressive person than he was. Or anybody else he'd ever seen, for that matter. And to add to that, she apparently held quite the title. He hoped that was an indication that she was a lot mature than she looked, but judging by the speech she gave, that wasn't likely to be the case.

But it was a very beautiful speech regardless. It would probably be a great change of pace if the Student Council President was actually fun for once.

If she's the Student Council President, then that means she'll be dealing with Shizu quite a bit. I wish our president luck.

Shizu Yoshikage was a young woman who could be said to be the exact opposite of Kurou in many aspects. From things like favorite food to their very sex, there was a heavy contrast between the two. And because Kurou absolutely loved that horrible, horrible speech, it was almost assured that his sister, Shizu, would hate it. Or hate hearing about it. Perhaps it was fated that Kurou was the one to listen to the speech directly. Hopefully that would soften the blow a little, but it wasn't likely.

Oh well, it wasn't as though it was his problem.

"I put a lot of sweat into that masterpiece you know, it is bound to be great! I'm sure everyone loved it!"

"They had better! People who can't appreciate that speech simply don't have the ability to appreciate a work of fine art." Kurou stated in response, giving a nod and probably inflating the young girl's ego more than he should. "Normal speeches are borin' anyways. They're always so long and pointless." Kurou seemed to have a strong opinion against speeches, so luckily, the subject did move away from that as Hikari explained whom she was running from.

"Fine by me. I was just curious 'bout it, is all."

Kurou had seen people in trouble before and she looked just like one. If he had to bet on WHY she was being sought out, it was because of the very speech she had given earlier than Kurou enjoyed. There was people who simply got mad at the dumbest things. Those people would chide you for the most stupid of reasons and there were times when you just had to dip. He could acknowledge this and gave Hikari a mental nod of approval.

Just do you, Hikari.

...

...

...

Perhaps he should not have said that. In his head.

The young demi had found himself the subject of a very intense observation. It was actually rather uncomfortable to be looked at this... uh, hard? It was like Hikari was searching every inch of his being for something. No, wait, that's exactly what she was doing, wasn't it? But what was she even looking for? A weapon? A map to El Dorado? Embarrassing christmas photos?!

"...can I help you at all?" he asked, standing completely still. He didn't want to make any sudden movements, lest he anger the beast before him. But yet she continued checking him out without paying his question any mind. Kurou could not tell you why he was frozen still while she even began to touch him, but by the end of it, he felt like she had shamed him and that he was no longer pure.

Shizu, forgive me...!

And as if pretending the whole situation was completely normal, she nonchalantly said, "I don't know it, you are too weird to be human so what are you. I can't see it."

I-I'm too weird?! And what can't you see!?

Kurou took a pretty big blow to his pride as a man, even if that wasn't what she was referring to. But he did his best to remain calm, he couldn't let the beast see his tears or taste his fear, lest it beset upon him with even more ferocity. Be strong, Kurou. Be strong for mother.

"I think I would have been a lot less traumatized if you had just simply asked... me." he complained. "But you are right, I'm not a human. At least not entirely... but what about you?" he returned the question. Kurou had never actually learned what a vampire was, so it was very unlikely he would have picked up on hints beforehand.

Can someone give me an idea of what's going on in the rp?

I think if you read the first post by Life then you're gucchi. From what I gather, the only real thing of importance is the speech given before everybody was allowed to dick around.

"Is there a fate crueler than school?"

What a time to be alive. It was a beautiful day outside. The birds were singing. The flowers were blooming. On days like these, kids like Kurou should be B U R N I N G S O M E C A L O R I E S by playing a nice game of baseball, or even soccer. However, today was the beginning of the school year for Kurou and his sibling. That meant that he was to be forced to pay attention to things like lectures and instructions and other, boring and pointless things that were no fun.

School was not a place where Kurou held pleasant memories, and while it had improved in the recent years, the scars left from being outcast or bullied would never entirely heal. Even if Yoshikage Kurou appeared as though he was entirely fine. Because they had moved to an entirely new school far away from the one they had previously gone to, everybody here would be strangers. And to a stranger, Kurou might seem just like any other idiot with a temper. He had become quite good at keeping the bad thoughts down, but it was not as though they ever disappeared.

He merely had the ability to suppress those horrible thoughts, not to remove them. He wondered if Shizu had been able to do what he could not, to remove these horrid memories. Yet though the twins shared a great deal many things, from their body to their schedule, one thing they did not share were thoughts.

Kurou hoped the best for Shizu.

"Ha... this thing is so damned hot!" the young Jinyou sighed to himself. Riding the bus turned out to be a really horrible idea. But how was he supposed to know this thing was going to be so damned cramped, hot, and humid?! Hell, he was not even intended to be the twin to deal with the morning of the first day. He had wanted to dump that upon Shizu, because for some odd reason, she liked listening to lectures and crap like that. But of course she went on study spree the past few days to catch up on the most recent lessons and mentally exhausted herself the day before and there was absolutely no way he was going to let her push herself any harder. For somebody as smart as she was, Kurou caught himself questioning why she couldn't comprehend the idea of overworking her mind way too often. It was literally the one thing they had to look out for. They did happen to have an incredibly durable body.

Kurou dealt with what seemed like an eternity of bumping into other students and sweating in the hot bus while it crawled up the hill. He noticed a few obvious demi-humans among the crowd. This would be the first time he had personally seen any, though he could not say he was in a state where he could express happiness at the fact. Right now he just wanted to exit this cramped and heated deathtrap, and when the bus finally stopped and people poured out of the thing like they were running from a monster with a taste for hormonal teenagers, Kurou was stuck at the back of the bus, destined to be the last one out. How cruel of the world to curse him with this kind of luck! Well, at least he could finally take those first few steps on a new campus...

....

....

....

Wonderful.

Fantastic.

Excellent.

Interesting.

A few words could be used to describe the situation that Kurou was part of, but if you asked him to list a few that weren't, well there you have it.

The male Yoshikage sibling was not known for being patient for these kinds of things, and this fact was written quite clearly on his face. His irritation was made obvious by the scowl he was wearing; a look that said "I might as well be watching paint dry or grass grow". At this particular moment, most people would likely think he was not the happiest person. And they would be right. How the actual fuck does she enjoy all this waiting for nothing? I'm worried that somehow the speech will feel like an even bigger waste of time than the wait for this damned thing! Kurou briefly contemplated the idea that his sibling was both a huge pervert and a masochist and all of this school stuff just got her off. There had to be something he was missing here, because right now he couldn't see why anybody would enjoy this kind of nonsense when they could be doing something FUN.

After a few eternities, Kurou had noticed some blonde-haired girl moving to the back of the auditorium. There really was no reason for him to pick up on this particular girl if it weren't for the fact that she was one of the very few standing at this point. Most had already arrived by now. Moments later, some yelling that was incoherent to Kurou from where he sat had preceded this very same girl stepping out into the proverbial spotlight as the lights dimmed. What happened in the few moments before the speech confused Kurou. For a brief second, the young lady seemed pretty confident in front of all these people, but in the next second, she seemed to almost deflate. This would have been fairly entertaining if Kurou was not in a sour mood at the moment. Regardless, the girl eventually gathered the courage to start her speech, taking the microphone in a single hand in a style that gave Kurou the feeling that she was a rockstar from some upper part of the western united states.

"DO YOU ALL FEEL EXCITED! HAPPY TO BE HERE PERHAPS!? I THOUGHT SO! Welcome all ... -to the grounds of Pakora! Be it human demihuman or just straight up monster you are all welcome here! For today we have set up a small party just for you with later tonight the opening ball in the sports facility right next to this building at 10! Furthermore you can do what you want all day. Explore the campus or chill in your room; anything is fine! Tomorrow lessons start after morning so at 12 meaning you can stay up late to party! Now all enjoy your time here at PAKORA ACADEMY! Student body president out!"

When the speech had finished there had been many reactions. Some were upset at the obnoxious speech. Some laughing at how silly it was. Some ignored it. One even got scared and ran off, though Kurou wasn't sure why. But as for Kurou....

A lone tear scurried down his face.

He found himself applauding, any angry feelings he had moments ago had vanished into thin air as if they were not there in the first place. As if it were all but a ruse of some sort. At the current moment, he could only have the feeling of being content with life itself. To him, this was not just a speech with quite literally no thought going into it beforehand. No, this was a big "screw you" to the establishment, to school.

Well, it probably wasn't actually.

But the very thought that it COULD be was enough to bring a joyous tear to the young man's eye. He found himself instead thinking of how lucky he was to witness this event. He knew his sister could never understand how great this moment was. He knew she would misinterpret this speech as being irresponsible and reckless. That she would get mad instead of appreciating this piece of history. Thankfully, she was still asleep.

Kurou had to thank this young woman for doing what she did. It was quite clear nobody else had been up to the task. It was a job only she could do. One only she could accomplish.

Finding her, however, proved a bit difficult. It was not as though she was hiding. No, the problem was that when Kurou stood up, he was immediately and unwillingly dragged out of the auditorium by a mass of students, which then prevented him from entering said auditorium for a couple of minutes. Damn these students! First they bully him, now they block his path! When will they stop taking away everything he loves!?

Boy, Kurou was definitely bored to be that dramatic in his thoughts. He was almost ashamed of himself, but it was too entertaining to him to stop. At least for now. Exaggerating everything was usually always more interesting.

It did not take long for the outpour of students who did not seem too interested in candy to finish leaving the auditorium. This meant that he could now go inside to see if that lady was still there so he could thank her for an interesting speech. However, it seemed going back into the auditorium was not necessary, as he noticed her slipping out of the place as if she were fleeing from something or somebody. How curious. Or his sister might have thought so, but he didn't really care. It was just a chance to greet her. She did not seem very old, but there was probably a reason she was made to give that speech. Wasn't it like the student body president's job to do that?

Aghhhh, too much thinking!

Kurou did not have plans to become a detective, so he decided to hell with it and approached the young, blonde girl.

"Hello." Kurou greeted, hoping to grab the attention of this girl. She seemed to be looking around still. "I must get your name! That speech really made my day, it was great!" he laughed before suddenly recalling common courtesy. "Oh, and I'm Yoshikage Kurou, very pleased to meet ya. Are you... on the run?"

Ha all you nerds with your money!

Who needs that when you got a shitty laptop and a gaming addiction?
