I can't post because I posted before Crim did XD So I'm just waiting for someone else.
No... I'm just.... struggling to think of how to start XD
Seems invariable put up the board. I'm so excited! ^^ Btw, Inferno, do you mind helping me with my character sheet?
Right, I'm struggling with a dilemma. I can't decide how I'd like to develop Q with regards to his combat capabilities. Either I can 1.) Have him realize his shortcomings and resolve to become a better martial artist, more in line with the Vic Sage version of the Question. If this was the case he would conceivably need a teacher, preferably picking one of our characters to train him, Mr Miyagi style. Or 2.) Give him a more occult slant. He could pick up some petty mysticism and magic powers, all self taught. He would then function as more of a trickster on the battlefield, using illusions and basic spells to misdirect and debuff his enemies. What d'yall think?
Well, considering he plans to uncover Kendra's secrets and maybe try and help her, him learning mysticism and the occult would make a lot of sense and might be helpful later on.
Kendra winced at Heat Wave's scream as Armoury delivered, err, a rather crude comeback on her former attacker. Under normal circumstances, Kendra would have scolded her teammate for the excessive show of violence. However, this one had a positive effect as, in that moment, Heat Wave dropped his gun, which Kendra was quick to kick away from the pyromaniac. Still pointing her blunted spear at Heat Wave, Kendra allowed her body to relax. She glanced back at Question with a raised eyebrow. She couldn't be entirely sure, but it seemed that, in his own little way, he had just thanked her for saving him. Though that didn't make him any less an ass, Kendra appreciated the gesture. However, both her own and the Question's attention was turned to another matter as Starbolt, one of the newer members of the team, was hit by a car in an attempt to save Top from Bolt's reckless actions. Kendra found herself wincing again at the ensuing chaos. Question ran over to help Starbolt - an unusually kind act for him - as did many others. Kendra, however, stayed where she was, deciding to keep watch over Heat Wave so he didn't try anything. After all, Kendra knew nothing about Starbolt's alien physiology or what would be the best way to heal the alien's injuries. She'd probably just get in the way. Instead, Kendra decided to concern herself with the health of one of her other teammates. "Hey," she said, looking over at Tea. She could tell the other girl was angry with Heat Wave. "Calm down. He's down for the count now." Her expression softened. "You okay? He didn't hurt you much or anything?"
Well I am a DC fan, I just like their stories better and all of their characters just seem better
Nope. I'm not going there. No more talk of whose better.
Personally, I'm just sad that comic companies like Image and Darkhorse don't get more attention. Yes, Marvel and DC have both put out some great stories, but they get plenty of attention from fans thanks to adaptations into other media. Image and Darkhorse's stories, however? Not as much attention.
@Damo and Fellsing - Both your posts are great in my opinion. The new kids are showing what they're made of!
Alright. Good. I was worried I'd made Kendra act too over-powered in her post. Also, kind of makes sense, considering both Kendra and Starbolt were trained by Wonder Woman. X3
Hey, @Digizel, @XxFellsingxX, @22xander, just wanna know how posting's going.
I'm working on it. I'll try to get a post up by tomorrow.
Kendra to ze rescueeeeee.... though I left it open for Heat Wave to possibly turn the tables on her, as he's still holding his gun. Though I may follow up on that in a couple posts time. EDIT: Although... I'm starting to have second thoughts about that last part of the post... I'm almost tempted to remove the part where she knocks him down.
As Kendra made her escape from the room, she didn't miss the Question's implication, and once again she felt the sting, though did her best to hide the emotion as headed for her quarters, practically slamming the door behind her as she tried to recompose herself. "Damn..." she hissed, placing her face in her hands. If she could of, she probably would have screamed in dismay as feelings of incompetence washed over her. As much as she hated to admit it, Question was right. She should have seen the danger, she should have seen Ditto getting attacked, she should have warned him. But no. She had been too busy focussing on Mammon and her future. For at least a couple of minutes, she just stood in the darkness of her room, wallowing in momentary self-pity and cursing herself again and again. She wouldn't allow herself to cry, but she would allow herself to have this tiniest moment of weakness. She deserved that at least, right? After a moment, she felt all the emotions melt away and it left with a sense of eerie calm. Get yourself together, Kendra! she told herself, lifting her face up and taking a deep breath. You're no use to anyone like this! She flicked on the light and headed over to the large suitcase where she stored her armour and her spear, currently in its harmless sleep mode. She began getting changed out of her old costume and into the new and improved gear provided by the Amazons. She tied her hair, previously worn long and down, and tied it into a single long plait. For a moment, she analysed her form in the mirror and stared at herself with a determined expression. "Get your head in the game," she told herself sternly. She then picked up her weapon out of her suitcase. In it's sleeping form, it didn't look anything like a spear. It was a metal cylinder, about the same size and shape as a can of baked beans. It made it far more portable and easier to carry around that way. "Alright," she muttered, nodding to herself. "Let's go kick some ass." She then headed out of her room. Some time later... As soon as Kendra stepped onto the battle field that was the streets of Star City, she felt surprisingly better from previous state. In fact, she felt eerily calm, with almost a tiny thrill her heart at the prospect of fighting once more. She hadn't done any real fighting since the Tomorrow Woman incident, and that small childish part of her that desired a taste for danger was ready to make up for lost times. Just as she was about to pick a target and rush into the chaos, she noticed something that... she didn't expect. Armoury, who had only a couple of seconds ago had had Heat Wave's gun pointed at her, was rescued by, of all people, the Question. What made this even more bizarre was how he had 'saved' her was by throwing a rock at Heat Wave, causing the villain to turn his attention to the Question. Kendra would have laughed at how badly handled that move had been had this not been such a desperate situation. Great, I'm going to have to save his butt, aren't I? Kendra thought bitterly to herself as she glanced around at her teammates, all of which were preoccupied at the moment. Oh well. At least this would give her something to mock him for later. Kendra held up the cylinder and muttered a command in greek. "ξυπνώ." Awaken. The cylinder shifted into its true form, the spear. Of course, throwing it at Heat Wave probably wouldn't be the best idea, as it would most likely kill him. So instead, Kendra muttered another command. "αμβλύς," she said, meaning 'blunt'. The point on the spear instead became blunted, very unlikely to piece Heat Wave's skin or cause him fatal injury, but enough that throwing it at him would definitely hurt. She threw the blunted spear at Heat Wave, causing him to stumble back slightly and temporarily distracted him as Kendra rushed towards him, quickly placing herself in between Heat Wave and Question. Kendra brought up her hand. "έρχομαι!" she called. The spear, which had previously fallen to the floor, suddenly rose up and flew to its master's hand. Kendra grabbed it. She then glanced quickly over her shoulder at Question. "You know, for a guy who claims to be smart, that really was a dumb move." Yes, it was petty, but she just couldn't help it. Kendra then glanced over at Tea. "Armoury!" she called to the armoured girl. "Get up! Get out of the way and get that kid to safety!" She got into a defensive stance. "I'll take care of this one." She gave Heat Wave a steely glare before rushing at him, now wielding her spear as if it were a bo staff. Heat Wave tried to aim a blast of his gun at her, but Kendra, thanks to her danger sense, dodged and quickly lunged forward, striking Heat Wave right in the stomach, winding him and stunning him for a second. Kendra then crouched down and aimed a kick at his legs, knocking them out from under him and causing him to land face-first on the ground. Kendra then walked over to him and pointed the end of her blunted spear at him. "I suggest you drop that gun and stay where you are," she muttered.
