One day you’re a two-year-old wearing gold-plated diapers and being spoon-fed five-star gourmet baby mush, the next you’re stranded on a yacht for three days in the Florida Keys after a freak accident caused the death of both your parents. Then, you’re wearing gold-plated diapers and being spoon-fed five-star gourmet baby mush, but under the legal custody of Great Aunt Elora, an old forgotten movie star from the 60s. People always pitied Elias for his harrowing experience; but, frankly, Elias doesn’t have a single memory of it. The only reason he knows his Aunt Elora didn’t fabricate the whole story was because of the tabloids he found on google: “CELEBRITY COUPLE DIE TRAGICALLY IN YACHT FIASCO”. In the end, that’s how he really saw this supposed tragic event – a headline. Really, that’s how Elias sees most events in his life. The therapist that Aunt Elora had sent him to see when he was eleven said this was a dangerous dissociative habit that removed him from real life, but Elias just liked to think of it as reality TV caught in 4K. Being a billionaire baby, Elias never really wanted for anything, and he spent most of his life disconnected. He didn’t even cry when Aunt Elora died shortly after his thirteenth birthday. It wasn’t because he didn’t love her, or miss her, he just…figured it was about that time. She died of complications from old age in the middle of a routine plastic surgery – she wanted her nose a bit thinner. Elias knew his Aunt would roll around in her grave if the world knew that’s how she went out, so he spun a tale to the tabloids: “RETIRED ACTRESS ELORA WESTERGAARD DIES SAVING NEPHEW FROM DROWNING”. He may have gone a bit overboard with the details, but when you have enough money, people tend to write whatever you say as fact. Elias lived with his godfather for a bit, an action movie star in Los Angeles who didn’t really have any interest in raising a burgeoning teenager. Instead, he was more preoccupied with clinging to the last vestiges of his youth and sleeping with half of Hollywood. When he turned sixteen, Elias figured it was about time he got emancipated – hired a good lawyer, flaunted the wealth his parents left him, and moved back down to the family estate in Florida. Elias enrolled himself in a good private school there – King’s Academy – and kept his celebrity past under wraps. It was easy, hiding that part of him from the students at King’s Academy. The world had pretty much forgotten him after his parents’ death, and even the irreverently irrelevant Aunt Elora couldn’t bring him to the limelight. ♠ School Life ♠ Elias daydreamed his way through classes in high school – that is, if he showed up to them. Half the time, he skipped and spent his time running wild on the beaches or lying his way into bars. When he was attending school, he liked to be in the center of attention – he was always in the center of gossip, starting group chats, and email threads with the dirtiest of details. Sometimes, he started rumors just because – they were never nasty rumors, nothing as sordid as lying about who did what with whom. Just, sometimes, he’d get bored and say one person had said something about another person behind their back – usually the two didn’t even acknowledge the other’s existence, so far removed they were in social circles. That’s what made it fun, though – seeing all the cliques and social circles fighting and switching and changing because “she said what” and “no way am I going to let that slide”. It was just some harmless fun, in Elias’s opinion. Maybe that’s why he had such a hard time getting close to people in high school, though. So disconnected from reality, he thought playing with people’s lives was harmless. No one was safe from it either; friend or foe, he pulled his little puppet strings and watched as things fell apart. Sure, some people thought he was lying or even caught onto the game, but half the time Elias was telling the truth. It was always a coin toss if he was being truthful or not and, when that’s the case, you always lose. ♠ Adult Life ♠ Aimless and without a goal in life, Elias drifted in his riches for a year after high school. There was no immediate need for him to start his life as a full-time adult, still living off the inheritance from his parents and Aunt Elora. Still, he knew it would run out eventually. Elias got into a small college with low expectations; with his grades, it was the most he could manage, and he didn’t feel the need to flash money to get into an ivy league. Not really knowing what to do, he majored in Communications, and found the subject just fascinating enough to graduate with an unimpressive grade point average. He spent a lot of his time in and after college partying. He liked dating and liked sex – didn’t like relationships, felt too constricting – so he’d date someone for a little bit, never tying himself down, and move on when he found something more interesting. Elias didn’t actively seek out his career path; he more so stumbled upon it. His godfather’s PR manager had quit in a huff during quite the scandal, though his godfather insists he fired him, and Elias was knowledgeable enough in manipulating the masses to give his godfather some emergency PR advice. After that, his godfather hired him. Elias became good at what he did, one of the best actually, and by the time he was twenty-seven, had amassed himself an impressive list of clients. Elias became a bit of a snob about it, bragging a lot that he only works for the “best of the best”.

Liesel’s mother, Diane, had the smallest hint of German in her and spent all her college savings to “get in touch with her roots”. Martin, a romantic at heart, was immediately smitten with the small-town American girl. After a week with Martin, Diane was sending a letter to her parents that said something along the lines of “I’m in love and I’m not coming home. XOXO, Diane”. After dating for three months, Diane and Martin married and settled down in Dortmund, Germany. There, Diane gave birth to Liesel. For the first five years of Liesel’s life, they lived in a small, cramped apartment in Dortmund. However, even after living in Germany for six years, Diane hadn’t been able to pick up the language. With her German being abysmal, Diane was incapable of keeping a job, and couldn’t help support the family. Struggling financially, Diane and Martin began arguing over money – Diane, frustrated with the foreign environment, and Martin, annoyed at being the only one supporting them. One day, in a huff, Diane booked a plane ticket back to the states and took little Liesel with her. Diane rejoined her family in Waynesville, Ohio with her daughter. Diane’s parents were bitter about her six-year disappearance but welcomed her and Liesel back home anyways. Being only five at the time, Liesel was taken care of by her grandmother while Diane and her grandfather worked. When Liesel was of age, she was enrolled in the local public school. The kids often made fun of her for her German accent, and Liesel became more withdrawn and quieter. Every day after school, Liesel stood in front of a mirror and practiced an American accent. Gradually, she begun to lose her accent, and Liesel tried to assimilate as much as she could into American life. By the time she was fifteen, Liesel was as American as they come. ✿ 𝐹𝒾𝒻𝓉𝑒𝑒𝓃 𝓉𝑜 𝐸𝒾𝑔𝒽𝓉𝑒𝑒𝓃 ✿ When Liesel was fifteen years old, her mother was contacted by her father. It was the first time Diane had talked to Martin since she left Germany. Martin had risen in a high position for a chemical company, and they sent him to manage the US branch. The headquarters of the US branch happened to be near Palm Beach, Florida. They corresponded for a few months through emails and phone calls, until one day Diane decided to reunite with Martin. At this time in her life, Liesel was used to her mother’s impulsivity – some could even say Liesel inherited it. Despite the protests from her parents, Diane brought Liesel to Palm Beach, Florida where they moved in with Martin. Having never officially divorced, Diane and Martin slipped back into married life easily. It helped that, with Martin’s high position in the company, money was no longer a point of contention. Liesel, however, struggled with the new arrival of her father. Much to his dismay, most of her German culture had been forgotten, and Martin often tried to instill German culture around the house. As if adjusting to her father being back into her life wasn’t enough, Liesel had to adjust to the newness of King’s Academy. She entered the school as a sophomore with her father’s new wealth. Most of the time, Liesel was the quiet girl and kept to herself, though she had a few friends and crushes. Things between Liesel and her father only grew worse as the years went on. Despite wanting to connect with her German heritage, she resented her father for rigorously drilling German into her life. At home, she was forbidden from speaking English, and other ridiculous rules. On top of that, her father expected her to get a degree in chemical engineering so she could eventually work for him under his company. This was something that Liesel, with her head in the clouds and her pen in her hand, obviously did not want to do. After graduation, Liesel went to college as far from her father as she could. ✿ 𝐸𝒾𝑔𝒽𝓉𝑒𝑒𝓃 𝓉𝑜 𝒯𝓌𝑒𝓃𝓉𝓎-𝓈𝑒𝓋𝑒𝓃 ✿ College was a time to reinvent herself. Instead of worrying about her German or American identity, Liesel was content to just exist as she was. She majored in English and dreamt of putting pen to paper – she hoped to be one of the greats one day. Shedding the skin she has worn her entire life, Liesel tunneled all of her energy into creativity and chaos. College was her wild years and her impulsivity had her running rampant. Liesel tried to keep in contact with her friends from high school, but after a year of shallow correspondence, Liesel went dark. She focused on her new life and friends; unexpectedly, Liesel had even joined a sorority. After getting her undergraduate, Liesel pursued a graduate overseas to further her education. She attended the University of Oxford in Oxford, England. Determined to hone her craft, Liesel dove into her studies and much of her inspiration came from writers during the Romantic Era. However, it seems history is doomed to repeat. Her friends had talked her into going to a bar one night, to take a break from studying. There, she met Jeremy. Jeremy was everything that Liesel had ever read about – a gentleman with dark hair and eyes. Like her mother and father, it was a whirlwind romance and Liesel became obsessed. Jeremy was a little older than her and worked as an electrician. They began dating and, like fine sand between her fingers, Liesel’s grades began slipping. So caught up in Jeremy, Liesel could barely care when she flunked out of her graduate program. Jeremy and Liesel married after five months of dating. She stayed in England with him in a two-bedroom apartment with a dog named Percy. They didn’t fight much, and if they did they resolved it in a few hours. Liesel worked as a waitress while working on her great novel that she surely would get inspiration for eventually. It didn’t matter that it wasn’t the life Liesel planned for herself, she was happy with Jeremy. Then, Jeremy served her the divorce papers. They had been married for five years; the last few months had been rocky, but Liesel was sure they could work things out. Jeremy wanted to move on to bigger and better things – namely, his co-worker, Jessica. The divorce papers hurt, but it was the discovery of his six month long affair that gutted her. Liesel moved back to Ohio, to live with her grandparents. She got a teaching license and begun to teach high school English class. Bitter and cynical, she spent most of her time pulling weeds out of her grandparents’ garden and feeding the chickens. Of course, at the lowest point in her life, Liesel gets the letter to the reunion. She hadn’t wanted to go, almost refused, but her grandparents insisted on her attending – mostly to get her out of their house for a little bit.

Liesel’s mother, Diane, had the smallest hint of German in her and spent all her college savings to “get in touch with her roots”. Martin, a romantic at heart, was immediately smitten with the small-town American girl. After a week with Martin, Diane was sending a letter to her parents that said something along the lines of “I’m in love and I’m not coming home. XOXO, Diane”. After dating for three months, Diane and Martin married and settled down in Dortmund, Germany. There, Diane gave birth to Liesel. For the first five years of Liesel’s life, they lived in a small, cramped apartment in Dortmund. However, even after living in Germany for six years, Diane hadn’t been able to pick up the language. With her German being abysmal, Diane was incapable of keeping a job, and couldn’t help support the family. Struggling financially, Diane and Martin began arguing over money – Diane, frustrated with the foreign environment, and Martin, annoyed at being the only one supporting them. One day, in a huff, Diane booked a plane ticket back to the states and took little Liesel with her. Diane rejoined her family in Waynesville, Ohio with her daughter. Diane’s parents were bitter about her six-year disappearance but welcomed her and Liesel back home anyways. Being only five at the time, Liesel was taken care of by her grandmother while Diane and her grandfather worked. When Liesel was of age, she was enrolled in the local public school. The kids often made fun of her for her German accent, and Liesel became more withdrawn and quieter. Every day after school, Liesel stood in front of a mirror and practiced an American accent. Gradually, she begun to lose her accent, and Liesel tried to assimilate as much as she could into American life. By the time she was fifteen, Liesel was as American as they come. ✿ 𝐹𝒾𝒻𝓉𝑒𝑒𝓃 𝓉𝑜 𝐸𝒾𝑔𝒽𝓉𝑒𝑒𝓃 ✿ When Liesel was fifteen years old, her mother was contacted by her father. It was the first time Diane had talked to Martin since she left Germany. Martin had risen in a high position for a chemical company, and they sent him to manage the US branch. The headquarters of the US branch happened to be near Palm Beach, Florida. They corresponded for a few months through emails and phone calls, until one day Diane decided to reunite with Martin. At this time in her life, Liesel was used to her mother’s impulsivity – some could even say Liesel inherited it. Despite the protests from her parents, Diane brought Liesel to Palm Beach, Florida where they moved in with Martin. Having never officially divorced, Diane and Martin slipped back into married life easily. It helped that, with Martin’s high position in the company, money was no longer a point of contention. Liesel, however, struggled with the new arrival of her father. Much to his dismay, most of her German culture had been forgotten, and Martin often tried to instill German culture around the house. As if adjusting to her father being back into her life wasn’t enough, Liesel had to adjust to the newness of King’s Academy. She entered the school as a sophomore with her father’s new wealth. Most of the time, Liesel was the quiet girl and kept to herself, though she had a few friends and crushes. Things between Liesel and her father only grew worse as the years went on. Despite wanting to connect with her German heritage, she resented her father for rigorously drilling German into her life. At home, she was forbidden from speaking English, and other ridiculous rules. On top of that, her father expected her to get a degree in chemical engineering so she could eventually work for him under his company. This was something that Liesel, with her head in the clouds and her pen in her hand, obviously did not want to do. After graduation, Liesel went to college as far from her father as she could. ✿ 𝐸𝒾𝑔𝒽𝓉𝑒𝑒𝓃 𝓉𝑜 𝒯𝓌𝑒𝓃𝓉𝓎-𝓈𝑒𝓋𝑒𝓃 ✿ College was a time to reinvent herself. Instead of worrying about her German or American identity, Liesel was content to just exist as she was. She majored in English and dreamt of putting pen to paper – she hoped to be one of the greats one day. Shedding the skin she has worn her entire life, Liesel tunneled all of her energy into creativity and chaos. College was her wild years and her impulsivity had her running rampant. Liesel tried to keep in contact with her friends from high school, but after a year of shallow correspondence, Liesel went dark. She focused on her new life and friends; unexpectedly, Liesel had even joined a sorority. After getting her undergraduate, Liesel pursued a graduate overseas to further her education. She attended the University of Oxford in Oxford, England. Determined to hone her craft, Liesel dove into her studies and much of her inspiration came from writers during the Romantic Era. However, it seems history is doomed to repeat. Her friends had talked her into going to a bar one night, to take a break from studying. There, she met Jeremy. Jeremy was everything that Liesel had ever read about – a gentleman with dark hair and eyes. Like her mother and father, it was a whirlwind romance and Liesel became obsessed. Jeremy was a little older than her and worked as an electrician. They began dating and, like fine sand between her fingers, Liesel’s grades began slipping. So caught up in Jeremy, Liesel could barely care when she flunked out of her graduate program. Jeremy and Liesel married after five months of dating. She stayed in England with him in a two-bedroom apartment with a dog named Percy. They didn’t fight much, and if they did they resolved it in a few hours. Liesel worked as a waitress while working on her great novel that she surely would get inspiration for eventually. It didn’t matter that it wasn’t the life Liesel planned for herself, she was happy with Jeremy. Then, Jeremy served her the divorce papers. They had been married for five years; the last few months had been rocky, but Liesel was sure they could work things out. Jeremy wanted to move on to bigger and better things – namely, his co-worker, Jessica. The divorce papers hurt, but it was the discovery of his six month long affair that gutted her. Liesel moved back to Ohio, to live with her grandparents. She got a teaching license and begun to teach high school English class. Bitter and cynical, she spent most of her time pulling weeds out of her grandparents’ garden and feeding the chickens. Of course, at the lowest point in her life, Liesel gets the letter to the reunion. She hadn’t wanted to go, almost refused, but her grandparents insisted on her attending – mostly to get her out of their house for a little bit.

x x There’s something romantic about escaping into the deserts of Mexico while high on peyote and ecstasy, or at least Mary Emerson thought so. She was newly married, so new that the “Just Married” sticker still stuck to her husband’s van like a faux Gucci label on a knock-off. Tijuana was just a pitstop in their honeymoon travels, a small one-night stay while they got their car fixed at the repair shop – her husband wasn’t the best driver. The small one-night stay turned into a three-day stay and the three-day stay turned into Mary Emerson dancing on a table at a bar under the appreciative eye of Mateo Navarro. They had sex, of course. Wild, extramarital sex that ended with Mary staring at the “Just Married” sticker as her husband drove their van away. He hasn’t even been born yet, and it was already a great start to Honey’s miserable, pessimistic life. Mateo never bothered with Mary while she was abandoned in Tijuana until he found out she had a bun in the oven and his mother reluctantly took her in. Mary was the naïve sort, the sort to see kindness in Mateo’s mother where there was none, and later when she would recount her days in Tijuana, it was fondly. Then Honey was born. Mateo’s mother hated babies’ crying and, after six months of little to no sleep, Mary was kicked out. Mary claims that Mateo tried to follow her, to come with her back to California, but obligations to his family kept him in Tijuana. Honey isn’t so sure that it’s true. The rest of his life isn’t as exciting. Mary jumped from man to man, clingy and romantic and just wanting to be loved, and every man walked out on her. His mom worked day shifts and night shifts and week shift and weekend shifts, so Honey was mostly left in a bar all day with his Uncle Benjamin. Honey grew up with a litany of father figures, all of them belonging to his uncle’s biker gang located in San Diego. Honey was always the smart kind, the quiet kid who got bullied until the whole biker gang pulled up to his school to complain to the principal (none of the kids dared come near him after that). He didn’t care about much, didn’t care about people much. Rather detached from life, the only thing that Honey really had any sort of interest in was science. He wasn’t obsessed with it, but he liked it enough to major in it when he went to college. He was smart enough to get a small scholarship, some financial aid, and his uncle’s biker gang covered the rest as a birthday present. In college, Honey has made a few friends here and there, maybe had a fling or two, but he wouldn’t classify himself as social. Mostly, Honey fuckin’ hated everyone.

x x Youth these days are so fuckin’ pessimistic. When did mental disorders and misanthropy become the gold standard for teenagers? Whenever it was, Lucy missed out on the memo. Sun practically shining out of her ass, Lucy only had eyes for one thing and one thing only: volleyball. When you live and breathe rubber balls and sweat-soaked gym socks, hating other people starts to seem not that important. Dreams have to start somewhere. Lucy’s obsession with becoming a professional volleyball player began with a simple volleyball match on the TV and a sarcastic quip from her older sister: “You’re too short to play volleyball.” So, Lucy tried out for volleyball – mostly to stick it to her sister, but also because her mother had an afternoon habit of clutching her three-hundred-dollar pearls and waxing poetically about her golden years over the sound of Lucy’s cartoons. Volleyball practice meant she could skip out on that particular narcissistic ritual. When she signed up for volleyball, though, Lucy didn’t sign up to warm the bench for three years in a row during elementary school. Her widowed mother was rolling in cash after the passing of her older, richer husband, yet she refused to pay for a volleyball trainer. Her reasoning was something along the lines of Lucy being too pretty and delicate for sports – Lucy wasn’t quite listening, having zoned out halfway through the lecture about the benefits of cheerleading. If money couldn’t buy her talent, then Lucy just had to work herself to the bone for it instead. When Lucy, with her abysmal grades, managed to score herself a spot in the elite university, most of her classmates were confused. When they brought it up, Lucy just smiled dreamily and starting rambling about the match that started it all: Oakwood International College versus Stanford University.

x x There isn’t much to say about Go Yi-Hwa, good girl extraordinaire. She’s every parents’ wet dream, obedient to her last breath, and a golden child who got into Oakwood International University. Not like her brothers, Young-gi and Young-hoon; the first being a high school dropout stuck in their small rural town in South Gyeongsan doing odd jobs to make do, and the latter being extremely and unapologetically gay. So gay, in fact, that Yi-Hwa’s father kicked him out of the house and Yi-Hwa hasn’t heard of him since she was sixteen. Yeah, it’s that kind of family. Yi-Hwa can’t complain about her life, though. Yes, she’s what some might consider poor, and her family is crazy conservative, but at least she has the drive to break through that mold. Not just anyone can get out of their small little village in South Gyeongsan, and to be frank no one thought she would get out of their small little village – but she’s here now, in the USA and starting her second year at Oakwood International University.

x x Youth these days are so fuckin’ pessimistic. When did mental disorders and misanthropy become the gold standard for teenagers? Whenever it was, Lucy missed out on the memo. Sun practically shining out of her ass, Lucy only had eyes for one thing and one thing only: volleyball. When you live and breathe rubber balls and sweat-soaked gym socks, hating other people starts to seem not that important. Dreams have to start somewhere. Lucy’s obsession with becoming a professional volleyball player began with a simple volleyball match on the TV and a sarcastic quip from her older sister: “You’re too short to play volleyball.” So, Lucy tried out for volleyball – mostly to stick it to her sister, but also because her mother had an afternoon habit of clutching her three-hundred-dollar pearls and waxing poetically about her golden years over the sound of Lucy’s cartoons. Volleyball practice meant she could skip out on that particular narcissistic ritual. When she signed up for volleyball, though, Lucy didn’t sign up to warm the bench for three years in a row during elementary school. Her widowed mother was rolling in cash after the passing of her older, richer husband, yet she refused to pay for a volleyball trainer. Her reasoning was something along the lines of Lucy being too pretty and delicate for sports – Lucy wasn’t quite listening, having zoned out halfway through the lecture about the benefits of cheerleading. If money couldn’t buy her talent, then Lucy just had to work herself to the bone for it instead. When Lucy, with her abysmal grades, managed to score herself a spot in the elite university, most of her classmates were confused. When they brought it up, Lucy just smiled dreamily and starting rambling about the match that started it all: Oakwood International College versus Stanford University.

x x There’s something romantic about escaping into the deserts of Mexico while high on peyote and ecstasy, or at least Mary Emerson thought so. She was newly married, so new that the “Just Married” sticker still stuck to her husband’s van like a faux Gucci label on a knock-off. Tijuana was just a pitstop in their honeymoon travels, a small one-night stay while they got their car fixed at the repair shop – her husband wasn’t the best driver. The small one-night stay turned into a three-day stay and the three-day stay turned into Mary Emerson dancing on a table at a bar under the appreciative eye of Mateo Navarro. They had sex, of course. Wild, extramarital sex that ended with Mary staring at the “Just Married” sticker as her husband drove their van away. He hasn’t even been born yet, and it was already a great start to Honey’s miserable, pessimistic life. Mateo never bothered with Mary while she was abandoned in Tijuana until he found out she had a bun in the oven and his mother reluctantly took her in. Mary was the naïve sort, the sort to see kindness in Mateo’s mother where there was none, and later when she would recount her days in Tijuana, it was fondly. Then Honey was born. Mateo’s mother hated babies’ crying and, after six months of little to no sleep, Mary was kicked out. Mary claims that Mateo tried to follow her, to come with her back to California, but obligations to his family kept him in Tijuana. Honey isn’t so sure that it’s true. The rest of his life isn’t as exciting. Mary jumped from man to man, clingy and romantic and just wanting to be loved, and every man walked out on her. His mom worked day shifts and night shifts and week shift and weekend shifts, so Honey was mostly left in a bar all day with his Uncle Benjamin. Honey grew up with a litany of father figures, all of them belonging to his uncle’s biker gang located in San Diego. Honey was always the smart kind, the quiet kid who got bullied until the whole biker gang pulled up to his school to complain to the principal (none of the kids dared come near him after that). He didn’t care about much, didn’t care about people much. Rather detached from life, the only thing that Honey really had any sort of interest in was science. He wasn’t obsessed with it, but he liked it enough to major in it when he went to college. He was smart enough to get a small scholarship, some financial aid, and his uncle’s biker gang covered the rest as a birthday present. In college, Honey has made a few friends here and there, maybe had a fling or two, but he wouldn’t classify himself as social. Mostly, Honey fuckin’ hated everyone.

Do you mean the level of power the gods retain? It won't be anything significant or horribly powerful. While powers will be used throughout the roleplay, this is not an action-packed roleplay where powers will be thrown about in a battle of the ages. When it comes to powers, we are looking more at if they thematically fit the deity, if they are well-thought out, and if they fit the powerscale.

It is hard to put a measure on what level the power should be. Overly combative powers are not useful in this roleplay and I probably will not accept them, insta-death powers will be immediately denied as well. For the most part, I trust everyone to be able to use their judgement to avoid OP powers. If you are not sure if something is OP or not, in the discord there is a channel labeled (#powers) that can be used to discuss it before committing to it.
