To answer your overtones, no, you can't plan it out and take advantage of it. It's not like human court of law; we can't see someone's every thought and intention; you're not going to fool the literal God of everything. Besides, nobody knows when they're going to die.
But to answer the surface question and write off the overtones, even Stalin could have been forgiven and gone to heaven if he repented.
B..but in the end you "realize" your mistakes and finally accept Jesus. Doesn't that like...wipe your sin slate clean?
The fact that realize is in quotes implies that it isn't sincere.
