Me and my alts will always use the Guild PFP for character art. Makes it easy. Usually if you see the character's name in the Guild title area, that's the case.

Well, the great thing about Worm (the setting he's popping in from), is that Parahuman powers are, at their core, dimensionally-based.
In particular, the Threat Report/CS specifically names "Doormaker" as a counter to get rid of him. Doormaker can open portals from basically anywhere to pretty much anywhere else, even across dimensions, and he's paired up with another person called the "Clairvoyant" whose power is basically multiversal omniscience and the ability to share it with people she touches. The power-synergy is fairly blatant.

So, let's assume they have finally killed Scion (the genocidal big bad of the series), and the dimensional barriers that he created around their local multiverse are gone. What remains of Cauldron (basically morally dubious super-powered Illuminati) can now sic Doormaker on Collin and send him far away so that he's no longer their problem, having no further use for him. They don't really care about where they send him exactly other than "as far away as possible".

Collin could be literally dumped into the narrative at any time and any location that isn't shielded from dimensional travel.

Okay, sweet, I like it. Shooting him near @Dark Cloud's character Alna and my character Misty would probably be most convenient at the moment. For whatever it's worth, Misty is mute, so I'd probably need to bring in her translator sooner or later.

Yeah, that's the idea. And I'm personally fine with anime style powerups, since I eat that kind of thing up. Now it's just a matter of figuring out how to get him involved.

I’m probably your best bet for a quick response. I’m also bad at checking the OOC, but I have a way to check IC posts pretty often. Why it works that way is a long story =P. If you want to boost the odds of me seeing an OOC post quickly, replying in the IC guarantees that I’ll see it almost immediately.

I’ll admit that I know zero about the source material, but it looks fine to me. I appreciate the overclock levels going up to 2^16th, but maybe that’s just my inner-nerd. Have you read/are comfortable with the background details, posting style, and rules?

Yeah, this is more or less an IM-style RP that you’d see on a platform like Discord; we don’t really have long and flowery posts like you’d see in Advanced. I’d argue that the plot complexity is on par with those, but that’s a different debate =). In terms of structured plots, we don’t have a GM who controls the story. Instead, each player has an idea of what story they want to tell and more or less drives a plot from there. But we very much push duel-adaptability, so the story you come up with may end up being changed by the actions of the characters involved.

The HQ thing still exists, but we’ve sort of started to sunset that idea, given that a centralized location doesn’t make much sense for the sheer number of characters at this point. There are a couple alternatives proposed/in the works, but that’s an open question still. Dark Cloud’s skeleton character, for example, has never been there.

I'll be honest, this looks fairly interesting to join (considering the active "Apply" status), but I dunno how the heck I'm supposed to catch up on what's currently going on. Like... that's nearly 10k pages of IC. That's just kinda not happening. XD
If I wanted to join, would I be able to get a rundown of the "plot" such as it may or may not be?

Sorry for the late response, like I mentioned on one of my alts, I’m recovering from a brief illness.

You’re not expected to catch up with everything that’s happened so far. Everyone has their own series of interweaving plots, and it’s usually pretty safe to jump in and out as necessary. You’re given the freedom to tell your own story inside the broad framework laid out in the rules. There are generally pockets of characters who know each other and interact, and we all have several that we cycle between depending on the situation.
