Michael & Jennifer Henderson
Los Angeles

Four days, ago at Elena's apartment, Jennifer was the happiest woman in Los Angeles. With the girls not knowing of her presence, she was able to hear where they would be laying low, and she read enough of the files to make the gamble of not taking it. She could of done some epic stuff with her powers years ago in this situation, but she wasn't confident in her ability. It would've been like trying to get LeBron James to play at his best after being off the court for four years. When she felt it necessary, Jennifer left, only to have some explaining to do when she returned home. This is when she stopped being the happiest woman in Los Angeles. She figured Michael would be happy to see her appear guy naked, but that only lasted a few seconds. He pretty much snapped back to being concerned. Maybe it took longer, who knows?

The reason why Michael had gotten so mad was because Jennifer was involving herself in what made her go into hiding in the first place. They argued back and forth for the night, which ended with Michael drinking more taking his sofa chair to sleep on for the night.

By today, Michael seemed less heated about what happened. He had asked a lot of questions for past few days and Jennifer answered him honestly to be fair about what she had done.

At the moment the two were sharing lunch. Every now and again, the two would order Chinese takeout. It was sort of a tradition whenever they had off at the same time. It was a rare case for the two, but they made it worth it.

"Sooooo Dr. Henderson, will you be home before I have to go to bed?" Jennifer said in a seductive voice. Michael couldn't help but smirk as he had a mouthful of rice. He chewed it up quickly in order to respond. He couldn't just kill the mood.

"It depends on how bad you need me." Michael played along with a grin. Jennifer licked her lips before peering up as if she was thinking.

"Well it's kind of hard to say... It would be better if I showed you." Jennifer said this as she stared him down. She wished he didn't have to go to work so soon. The two hadn't done anything too intimate since the day of fhey had their fight.

"Sounds serious... I'll see what I can do. I'll definitely give it a check tonight."

"I hope so. I'll be..." Jennifer sighed as her phone rang. She looked at the caller ID, and her eyes widened before looking at Michael.

"What?" Michael questioned, but Jennifer answered the phone. "Who is it?" Michael asked, this time he was a lot more stern.

"Hey Noah, what's up?" Jennifer asked as she looked at Michael as if she was answering his question with her reply to Noah. Michael raised an eyebrow and sowed at his wife. As she have him a guilty look she waited on Noah to speak. "And can you make it quick? I'm in the middle of something." She said in order to ease her husband.

"No, you need all the time you can get for the brief on your next life threatening mission." Michael was clearly not happy, but something in him made him curious. He had been this way all his life. He decided he would sit quietly, eat, and ask her for the details once she was off the phone.

Claire Bennet
Manhattan, New York City
Seconds Before Assassination Attempt

"These tests are moving us forward so we can live together. No evolved human should have to hide in the dark." Claire Bennet was giving a speech in support of the Bennet Act. She smiled at the crowd. "This will make us..." A loud shot echoed through the streets as the bullet shredded through her skull before blowing it open upon exit. The round was so powerful, it knocked her back. She hit the ground as people in the crowd panicked. Some people started fighting, seeing the assassination attempt as a symbol of normal humans oppressing the evolved. While others saw it as evolved humans trying silence the best mediator of their kind. Either way, the action did as intended. It caused a divide in the crowded audience. People were trampled in the disarray, a few even killed as things also became violent. Her body lay lifeless on the ground
Thousands of people watched on television possibly the beginning of the split in society between evolved and normal humans.

The assassination! That post was fun to type up
JJ
Subway Train (2), Manhattan

Glory- Lil Wayne

A sigh escaped the young man as he sat down on the train. There was a middle aged woman glaring at him due to the amount of space he was taking up. To his right, his guitar case sat in the seat beside him, while a black duffle bag sat on the seat on his left. He could see that she wasn't happy about how selfish he was being at the moment, especially with how crowded the train car was becoming as it traveled more and more into middle Manhattan. JJ really wanted to keep his attention off of her, mainly because of what his power might do, but her sighs and scowls kept leading his eyes toward her. He could have been nice, but there was no way he'd set his things down on the floor of the train car.

With the train coming to a stop, JJ noticed that this was his time to get off. He smirked before standing up and looking the woman in her eyes. She was ready to take his seat, but as she broke eye contact with JJ, the three unoccupied seats were swiftly taken by three rambunctious children. JJ chuckled as he exited the train car. JJ was dressed in a pewter suit and tie. He felt that he needed to look nice today for his business in the city. He looked classy as hell.

Upon exiting the train station, JJ walked several blocks to his destination. It was a building that was undergoing construction on its 42nd floor. The second he entered, his thoughts started buzzing. He loved mentally calling all of his good fortune as he pushed his luck.

By the time I'm ready, I should have enough time to do what I need to do

Several construction workers walk by JJ who enters the elevator with a few others.

The construction workers conveniently break for lunch. Simple enough... Now to stop on the 43rd floor.

JJ smirks as he is the last person on the elevator by the time the elevator reaches the 30th floor.

No one will see me getting off the elevator. Almost too perfect

JJ arrives at the 43rd floor and steps out to see a half empty office room. Everyone is hard at work in their cubicles. JJ walks quickly to the staircase where the 42nd floor can be accessed. He eyes the caution tape, but it's only caution tape... JJ then enters the unoccupied 42nd floor and looks to his right to see framing for windows. Huge spaced out steel beams are the wall of this side of the 42nd floor. He looks at his watch to see that it is only 12:11pm before finally setting his bag and guitar case down on the floor. JJ opens up the guitar case that contains a disassembled high powered sniper rilfe.

He then unzips the duffle bag and pulls out black shooting gloves. He pulls a replica guitar from the bag and places it beside the guitar case. He places the gloves on and starts assembling the rifle swiftly. Once assembled, he places the fake guitar into the guitar case and shuts it just before getting in the prone position with his rifle. The chances of him hitting his mark without any assistance with calculating wind speed and bullet drop were low as all hell.

I ended my relationship with chance a long time ago. Lady Fortune is just a woman trying so hard to seek my attention. She does whatever I want to make me smirk. She ruins my enemies, no matter who they might be. She's funny with her dark sense of humor. I really don't know why she's so crazy about me, she treated me like shit before a few years ago. I think it's because I stopped caring for her... I like this... I want her to want me. I want to stay...

JJ focused his sights on his target. He took a five second inhale followed by a five second exhale.

I want to stay...

JJ takes another breath and remains still.

I want to stay...

He exhales and holds it. JJ pulls the trigger.

...lucky.

The weapon's recoil jerk his shoulder back, making him grunt before dropping the rifle and quickly getting up to make his getaway. He grabs the guitar case and runs for it. He needs to move fast. JJ had just assassinated none other than Claire Bennet.
I'm ready to skip too.
Elena's Apartment, Los Angeles

Jennifer observed the two young women for some time. Not only did she manage to find another evolved human with Elena, but that this evolved human had some very valuable information. And at the moment, this information was just sitting there for her to take. I won't make it... If I change in order to grab the files, I'm out in the open. I can't move something that heavy from inside this room. And I can't afford to just leave, because they might not be here when I return... Why couldn't I be a teleporter?

Jennifer figured the best thing to do right now was wait. The files weren't going to go anywhere yet. They were just out for the taking but it wasn't worth being shrunken or electrocuted from behind for. She thought about her husband being him alone and figured she would have a lot of explaining to do.
@Nallore True. And no he doesn't know Noah, though he does know of the man with the horn rimmed glasses lol.
@Nallore

Hey if Noah happens to be at the Henderson residence before Michael arrived, feel free to say he was in the guest room or the first floor bathroom

Quote: "So you don't believe in luck?"
Name: Joseph Jackson "JJ" "Lucky Jay"(Alias)
Age: 24
Gender: Male
Height: 5'7"
Weight: 170 lbs
Ethnicity: Black
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Religion: Atheist
Occupation: Gun for Hire
Ability: Luck

Personality: It may seem odd, but JJ is a realist slightly leaning towards being a pessimist. It may be because he's finally become so accustomed to his luck and him knowing of the consequences of it. He enjoys being on his own and being on the job. Though his power makes things way too easy when it comes to video games and picking up women, JJ makes it his job to find incredible ways to accomplish things knowing that his luck will save him. JJ constantly gambles for money when on and off of a job. He doesn't consider himself an evolved human, just a lucky asshole who's great at his job. He lives life without hesitation which makes him dangerous when coupled with his power. He has become 100% assured that his power will always save him. He just has to keep moving for if he stops... his luck may run out.

Background: JJ was an orphan, so his life wasn't too dandy from the start. He was always a happy and positive thinker growing up, despite living in an orphanage for his entire childhood. Even though he was never adopted, he was glad he was able to remain in the orphanage. He felt like he would never really fit into a family he didn't truly belong to. Besides, the staff made sure he did well in school, and pretty much gave him an as normal life as he could get. He dreamed on becoming a football player, but never made the cut for the team. He tried getting into science, but he always got stuck with a shitty partner at school. He applied for scholarships, but only managed to get one. He tried to join the army, but they didn't have the job he wanted at the time.

JJ did manage to get a job with some local thugs in Harlem, Manhattan who needed a driver. He did that for a long while, but knew it wasn't his calling. He wanted to do more, but it seemed that nothing was going his way. Until one morning, he woke up to the perfect day. Then he woke up to another. And then another. It was like things were falling into his lap. He moved up to being a bodyguard for one of the higher level thugs, so he got paid more. He found out he was pretty good at using a firearm, but never had to ever shoot at an actual person. He picked up counless beautiful woman to hook up with. He had even managed to network around the city. He didn't really think he had a power to be honest. JJ just thought he was lucky... well he was, and it was his power, but who sees having good luck as a super power. One day he tried just testing it out. Yeah, he tried to have a bad day. He showed up to the bank late to a barber shop appointment only to find out his barber wasn't busy when he showed up. JJ did a lot of small things at first. By the end of the day he had tried running a red light. He did and the cops actually just gave him a warning. He did it again. He was sure he would get a tocker until he watched the cop get gunned down by an enraged man who had been angry about the recent cased of police brutality on African Americans. It wad at this moment that JJ noticed that his luck wasn't free. Over the past two years, JJ learned that his power exchanged luck for luck if he pushed at his fortune. He'd a woman's phone number, and someone would rob the bar owner the same night. He'd have a car miss running him over, but only because they had an aneurysm. It made him paranoid and pessimistic, but he's come to embrace the scale tipped in his favor. He recently won the lottery for the second this year and currently resides in Queens living the double life of a gun for hire and a lucky lotto winner.
Austin, Texas

Claire Bennet took a deep breath as she stood back stage of the conference being held on the Bennet Act. Since her exposure of evolved humans, Claire became somewhat of a spokesperson. In some cases, she was like a representing for her kind, in other cases it was as if she was leader. Though she felt like she had little influence, she tried her best to let people understand. Understand her kind, understand how people need to view her kind, and other controversy. She was sure she would get some criticism, but people needed to see this as a step the world needed to take.

As she heard her name called for her to step up to the podium, she could hear both praise and loathing from the audience. Claire walked up, determined.

"Now I know many of you have heard of this Bennet Act, and some of you are skeptical..." Claire was interrupted by a few uproars. "But this is the first move we need to take together! By knowing which people have abilities, we can find ways to not only help them with control and fitting into society, but we'll also be able to treat situations differently with the presence of the evolved. Right now, law enforcement and government agencies are running around with no clue on howhat to find out who destroyed the high school in Los Angeles. What if they knew how many evolved humans were residents in that city. What if we can eventually catalog the powers of each person who is identified as aN evolved human. We as a society should know who's what and who we need to look out for in regards to usefulness and caution..." Claire continued on with the conference and started going over the Bennet Act in great detail.

Michael's Home, Los Angeles

"Woooh! Another day conquered!" Michael roared as he entered his home with a smile on his face. Work had been busy since the accident at the high school today, so Michael was pretty much ready to get a nice back massage from the wife and sip on a glass of whiskey before going to bed. As he made his way into the kitchen, he stopped in his tracks as he noticed his wife's clothes on the ground. "What the... Jen?" Michael called out, but he got no reply. "Jen!" He called louder as he walked to the bedroom. It was the first place he'd have to check. It was principle if you find your wife's clothing on the ground. He didn't expect her to be having an affair, but it was principle! She was either trying to surprise him with something kinky or she was using her powers... or both.

He then walked into the bathroom, to find her absent. With a sigh, he half heartedly closed the bathroom door which left it ajar before taking a leak.

"I wonder what she's doing. A note would have been nice." Michael said as he went to wash his hands for a few seconds. After leaving the bathroom, Michael returned to the kitchen and grabbed his bottle of Jameson from the freezer. He glanced at the clothes on the ground and shook his head as he left them in the kitchen with an empty glass and his bottle of whiskey. As he sat on his sofa, he set down his things and turned the television on to watch CNN. To his surprised, it wasn't covering evolved humans. Just a lucky guy who managed to win the lottery for the second time this year.

"People shouldn't be allowed to win twice. How fair is that." Michael said with a smile before pouring a glass for himself. The story seemed to last seconds before covering the Bennet Act. "Here's to the evolved." He toasted before taking a long sip.

Los Angeles

Jennifer wasted no time scouting out the girl she had seen in the video that Noah showed her. Finding the rusty red Mustang was harder than she thought, but she managed to accomplish it thanks to her being all over. Her power was useful in allowing her to know her surroundings.

I have the apartment building, but I just need to find out where the girl is staying. I can wait it out and see if she goes out for a drive... or I can spread myself thinner.

The more Jennifer unified with the environment, the harder it was to reform into her own flesh and bones. She'd be able to search like no other, but she'd also be unable to do anything until she focused her unity with the environment in a smaller area. It would also be a lot harder to eavesdrop if she's spread out into an entire apartment building. It's just too much talking.

It took some time, but...

Bingo. And she has a friend... And her friend has powers too? Wow! Let's see what they have to say

Jennifer was in awe at the shrinking of the recycling bin. She was sure that if her husband could witness this, he'd be like a kid during Christmas.
