This man was skilled, dangerously skilled. Rodetta knew very few humans who could swing a sword so hard and be blocked, only to re-approach with no recoil. Its like he shield was a whetstone for him to grind his sword against. To be able to achieve that sort of form one must be expertly disciplined in the complex eastern arts that Rodetta was vaguely familiar with. But the warriors of the east she had seen before were more measured, more cautious and meditated, like machines. This fiend in black was more like a well of living oil, fluid and slippery with his every move, and he was fast, faster than Rodetta herself but not so much where she couldn't stay competitive. She was an expert in her own discipline.

Now she was able to clear some ground just as he began to dart forward to close the gap to 3 feet from her, but she was not going to be chased down again. Like a Cobra strike she expertly thrust her spear at the man's centre chest area as he dashed forward to approach her, as fast as he was, she still had the reach advantage as her spear was much longer than his blade. She caught him in forward momentum so she was confident her attack would hit somewhere. And to be to close as this attack was unfolding would have him end up impaled on her spear as she jabbed it directly in his attack path. Her feet were planted in the ground and smoke began to rise up from the damp wood of the ship's deck, her body was getting even hotter...
this ranked im in currently has barely started and Im already excited

@Dynamo Frokane No joke, For some reasons I read that as librarians. <.< And don't worry even though I'd consider myself as one, since it technically varies vastly politically (and only really means your anti-authoritarian.) and it seems to a be the new popular thing to be on the Internets. They sort of are the new internet term for "independent" or "moderate" aren't they? I'd think to think we are the 'we give an actual shit about politics' version of those words though. :P

Still think Libertarians have the wrong mindset about authority and legislation based on some bad practices. Government does mess up sometimes, probably even too much, but its an essential and worthwhile concept to refine and improve.

To think we should remove all or almost all Government regulations? No. We don't need to return to the late 1800s, early 1900s years. The years where we had little to no regulations and workers were literally LOCKED IN THEIR WORK PLACE even if it was on fire. Where workers were forced to work 16 hour work days, pay so low they couldn't live off it, working conditions that cost tens of thousands their lives every year, etc.

And it ignores another problem not every market can respond the same. A true free market with no regulations (as in no anti-monopoly laws) will mathematically lead to monopolies. People who think some other company will spring up and compete if a company owns the vast majority of the market ignores reality. The company with majority control can afford to undercut their opponent for years even if it means a loss for their profits for those years. Because once the competition is dead, they can hike shit back up so high they make back their profits. And you might go "BUT THEN THE PEOPLE WILL JUST BOYCOTT THEM!" ya.. tell that to the people who need the pharma company pills or medicines to survive. They can't boycott OR THEY DIE! Same goes with if companies controlled water and food entirely. These markets aren't "free markets" they're "captive markets."

Libertarian ideology was taken over by corporate executives/leaders long ago so they could use it to push deregulation so they could make more profit no matter what damage they do to other people or other businesses or the economy as a whole (see the TPP and how it'll cost us 4.5 MILLION jobs and our GDP greatly: ase.tufts.edu/gdae/policy_research/TPP.. ) and the environment. They don't care about that. They only care about profits. Cause, fun facts, corporate executives are FOUR TIMES more likely to be sociopaths compared to the average human ( edition.cnn.com/2004/BUSINESS/08/26/co.. ).

So this is my summary:

That's something I can agree with, actually.

@Dynamo Frokane Do you mind if I give penny a little tap on the shoulder? Tell her that we've arrived?

Unfortunately I've preempted whatever you were going to say by going ahead and doing it anyway.

You ninja'd me I literally was writing my post as you posted so I didnt see this or the post. Lets just say she was so engrossed in the game she didnt quite realise being tapped, as so I dont have to retcon my train exit :P

Don't most people have something close to hate for at least one political ideology? As a libertarian, I can respect that.

Also, adding to the whole Chinese buffet conversation going on... I've got to say that Japanese food renders their neighbor's cuisine pretty much pointless. It's 3000000000 times better, IMO.

Hey now, trust-fund kids need a political belief too.

I suppose I meant more Libertarians in the way they act rather than the ideology.
..........Game Over....New High Score 6700 pts.

Penny threw off her VR headset as she got the game over message, her forehead was covered in sweat. She had never made anything above 6000 before in her earlier attempts at her Sniper Training Demo. But today on the train she had a new level of focus. It might have been the pressure and excitement of returning to new anchorage and being apart of a full military unit and wanting to make a good impression when she finally gets into her NC. Just as she began to pack away her demo game she was almost deafened by the screech of the stopping train. They had arrived in New Anchorage, Penny was home.

As she stepped up out of her train seat she re-adjusted her Getta brand casual bodysuit and double checked if she had her camera and microphone equipment still with her. She would want to document what she could while on this new adventure. Stepping off the train she got a good glimpse of the Unloading machines carrying the crates that held the NCs, somewhere was her beloved VanGuard Saint, shiny and new looking with its new wax and paintjob. The walk along the docking bay was made even more interesting when she saw the other pilots step off, she had made no contact with them before today and was her first chance to see them in person. Her background in journalism allowed her to recognize two from the crowd instantly.

First was Agatha Smith a well known local combat veteran who she covered for her first documentary in media studies. Penny remembered her Grandfather talk about seeing her in combat a few times and would talk about her skills as a sniper like they were something out of holy scripture. Penny's grandfather would go on to tell Penny, that NC snipers are under-appreciated and its a role that she should consider, which she did in the end, because of Agatha. The woman must have been in her 50's but she carried herself like a young commando, stoic and respectful, with not an ounce of weakness in her body language.

The other she recognized straight away was Thalia Styles. She had covered some of her exploits when she was investigating Red Star take over of small towns in Australisia. Tahlia made many headlines on online papers. Some news outlets called her 'The Outback Spider' because of her origin and her machine. She was a notoriously skilled pilot that Penny always loved to write about, but was upset that she never got a chance to interview her face to face. So she was very excited to now possibly be working alongside her especially know she could see how very attractive she was...

Penny's mind snapped back into reality as she found herself standing in front of an official who was holding a datapad. Penny felt embarrassed for having drifted off in her thoughts. She cleared her throat and stood to attention.

Uh, I'm Penelope Natasha Maverick, of the Vanguard Saint, Sir!

She wasn't sure if she was supposed to salute so she didn't risk it.

The new Apes movies aren't set before the original. They are their own thing. Fury Road is a sequel and Arkham Origins is a prequel. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is not going to lead into the original Planet of the Apes movie because it is its own canon and its own franchise with passing references to the originals.

Something like X-Men First Class isn't a reboot. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is.

Dawn of the planet of the apes is set before the original though. Its the origin story to how the apes took earth over from man-kind. Granted its set a good long while before the original film but that was always the backstory. Rise and Dawn just detail exactly how the apes took over. Its not it's 'own thing' any more than DMC 3 is.
I have something close to hate for libertarians.
@Fabricant451 they arent continuity reboots because they dont affect the continuity, when you set films before the original you can keep them as part of the canon without rebooting. Like Fury Road for example or Arkham Origins as a video game example.
