We are back for the 5th season!

For those of you new to Shine City, its an open freeform slice of life/romance RP where young single people come to socialise and find friendships, dating and ultimately love in the beautiful and ever growing shine city.

Shine city is the largest city in Shine County, a fictional land that is based on Canada, Japan and the United Kingdom to some degree where your character will work and live day by day (depending on time skips) and interact with the other inhabitants. The 'Plot' of the RP is mainly decided by the characters as it's open to flow with the current events, this is a HUGE social RP so we want as many characters as possible for this iteration of Shine City.

What You Can Expect

• You don’t need to have been a part of season 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 to jump right into season 4! Don’t be scared to join our cast of players just because you’ve never played with us before. Help us keep this sea stocked with plenty of fish!

• This is going to be a high casual to low advanced roleplay, which means you will be expected to give well written posts with a three paragraph minimum. This doesn't mean you have to write flawlessly, we all misspell a word every now and again, but no one should have to struggle to make sense of your post.

• This is an anime roleplay, so we are going to be using anime for our appearance pictures. No real life please!

• 1 character each, but you may have additional 'side characters' in the RP once you clear it with one of the GMs

• This game is very character driven! The Shine City GMs have created a lovely town for you to play in, so go forth and make your own story! The city will hold the occasional event (like an author having a book signing or a carnival) so we can get many of the characters in one place for a bigger chance to mingle and the GM will impose time skips as he sees fit, but other than that you are free to explore the town and play however you want.

•You will probably find love! ...and maybe a little heartache. It’s a fact of any romance roleplay that characters will fall in and out of love and one character may even betray another one (steal their man, sabotage a job interview, cheating, etcetera etcetera). It is important for you to know that while the Shine City staff (currently myself) love us some good IC drama, we do not enjoy it when it carries over to the OOC. Please be kind and respectful of your fellow players and always remember that the character and their creator are two separate entities.

You are more than welcome to customize and add to your character sheet, as long as you make sure you meet the basic requirements laid out here. Make it as unique or as uniform as you’d like!

Here you will find a lot of the high end boutiques and clothing stores, there is a theatre, a few music venues and of course the shine city arcade! At night this place lights up and this becomes an amazing place to take a date for a drink in one of the penthouse bars on the skyscrapers dotted throughout the centre. Or maybe take your date to one of the 14 restaurants each with a different cultural style for that exotic variety! Everybody who's anybody can be seen in Shine Junction from time to time.But hang around here too much and you may become over-exposed, a little mystery and privacy goes a long way in the dating world ;)

Now for all of you slightly younger go getters out here, or maybe those just trying to add to their skill set later on in life, you will already be familiar with the Shine City Academy

Although most students here are between the ages of 16-22 there is good number of older students here looking to further their career with extra qualifications, this academy boasts a massive campus which holds a lot of dorm rooms, and a huge university sports field as well. Although this is a place of study do not heistate to come here for a spot of after school socialising! I recommend the cafeteria, the food there is excellent, what a surprise! 

After all that it would make sense to take it easy for a little while and get some fresh air so why don't you check out the Shiny Park?

You may want to take your puppy for a walk around here, pets are the best conversation starter and you may even get some exercise chasing after Mr/Ms Right! I'll catch you there for ultimate frisbee!
This is also a great place for a picnic, and time to pull out the guitar when nobody is expecting it. 

Ahh 21 and over only I'm afraid, this is the biggest club in the city, and is frequented by whoever is somebody in Shine County! Sadly on a busy night, its hard to get in unless you know someone from the upper echelon of high society. It has the best nightcore and hardcore happy house in the world and the dance floor is always packed out. The Bouncers have kept an eye out for students from Shine City Academy who probably shouldn't be there! If you cant get in here be sure to check out the MochaVine coffee store.

If you want to relax or maybe talk to the cool bartenders and baristas the please check out this awesome cafe bar combo, its frequented by the more artistic crowd in Shine City and is a great place for indpendent musicians to get a start. The lovely Rosanna Reyes works here and the bar has seen a influx of young men attending since she started working here....hmmm I wonder why? :) But if you are feeling hungry please head over to the Tiny Snowflake Restaurant

Feeling that traditional vibe? well the founder of this beautiful eatery in the heart of shine junction can trace his family business all the way back to the Edo period, which is why he has chosen to preserve the oriental aesthetic in the decor. The menu here is very varied though serving anything from Sushi and Wu don to steak and lobster, to cater to all the tastes of the very mixed culture of shine city. Word has it that the beautiful Amaya works here in a very pretty kimono, you'll have to come see for yourself.

Hey so you have a bit of spare cash? why not see if you can double it at shine city's premiere grown up playground? The socilaites from the the wealthy Upscale Heights part of town love to frequent this golden paradise almost any day of the week. Casino Games, Poker, BlackJack, Roulette, Slots, the options to gamble and live life on the edge are available for you here, just remember when its time to stop! But if youre not quite old enough for these games and want a more family friendly playground check out the Lancom Arcade

This is the centre for everything gaming, LAN parties, Trading Card Games, Arcade Tournaments, even a bit of cosplay on certain days! Please come along and spend the day with your friends around colourful lights and library of games for you to enjoy! And remember this is shine city, so a high level tournament player is the type to end up on a lot of dates! so brush up on those skills! Now after all that high energy gaming why not take a stroll through the calming Shine Aquarium exhibition?

The sea creatures of shine county are a marvel to behold, and the 'blue tunnel' in this vast museum/aquarium is almost the stuff of legend, this aquarium was the main driving force of tourism in shine city back when it was only a little town back in the 80s. This is the perfect place to take a date, let the atmosphere and music send you into a dream word...and dont forget to buy a t-shirt!

Did you forget your mom's birthday? Didn't get your girl anything for your anniversary and now you're stuck in the dog house? Well, flowers don't fix everything, but they're a good place to start! All of our beautiful flowers are either grown in house or supplied by local growers from within the Shine City community, and they're sure to put a smile on that special someone's face. More of a do-it-yourself kind of person? We've got you covered! This flower shop has everything a gardener could ever need, from pruning sheers and gloves to fertilizer and seeds. So come on down to The Enchanted Florist and grab your 'I'm-so-sorry-please-don't-make-me-sleep-on-the-couch-again' bouquet today!

If you're tired of staring at screens for work, pounding out papers for school or breaking records at the Lancom Arcade then look no farther than this quiet spot.  Located off the corner of the Shine City Mall parking lot, where the flickering streetlights like to hang out, Ink Sparks is your final stop on the quest for a good book or a private nook.  This might be the only store in Shine City to offer both excellent light for reading and dramatic shadows, perfect for an adventurous meeting or a game of cards.  Under new ownership.

A note from the Shine City Police Department's Chief of Police:
Pedestrians are encouraged to maintain caution in the area around Ink Sparks due to the history of gang activity and drug trafficking.  Ink Sparks, under new ownership since early February, has been found to be free of any current connection to illegal activity.  To be clear, while rumors of the recent drop in illegal activities in the area are more fact than fiction, there still remains a number of suspected criminals in the area.  We at the SCPD recommend that citizens take reasonable precautions for their own safety.

Catherine Von Shine and her rich family founded Shine County In the 1800s, and although the bloodline of the family is no more. The beautiful Mansion they owned has stood the test of time and has been restored for public use as, The Shine City Town Hall. Legendary Party Promoter and  Co-Ordinator Jacques Jonai has gotten permission from the City to begin holding City events here Including The 1st Shine Masquerade Ball for the new year.

A little on the small side, but still big enough to fit a pool table, jukebox, several small tables and a couple of booths comfortably. The name comes from the fact that its located in the bottom corner of an apartment complex, with the owner living directly above it. Its an old bar with a new owner, having recently been refurbished and reopened, the floorboards creak with age and the seat cushions are getting a little threadbare, but it is very well stocked. If one prefers to drink in a more quiet, relaxed atmosphere with smooth jazz and blue eyed soul playing softly in the background this is the place to go.

As it is a bar, the owner will be very careful to check for valid ID's, and might hire a bouncer to assist with this in the near future. It does serve water and a full complement of sodas, but minors are generally encouraged to go some place more age appropriate.

Weekdays: 4:00 PM - 2:00 AM last call is at 1:45 AM

Weekends: 3:30 PM - 1:30 AM last call is at 1:15 AM

Note: the times the bar stays open to can vary wildly depending on how late the owner is willing to stay up. Once he feels especially tired he will close up shop, even if other employees can tend the bar, as he lives directly above the place he'd need peace and quiet. Smoking is strictly inside, and coming in with a lit cigarette is enough to earn the ire of the owner.

Fenton Kelly opened up this office very shortly after moving to shine city against the wishes of his superior who wanted to him to take it easy. This is located above one of the massage parlors in the slightly more raunchy end of shine city. Fenton provides an investigation service to whoever needs something found or found out. But because of the low crime nature of Shine City, most of his cases so far have just been to spy on cheating wives and husbands. He finds this work slightly too easy, but appreciates its better than sitting around 'relaxing'.

The Shine City Science Institute and Research Centre, or the S.I.R for short, is Shine City’s very own facility dedicated to scientific research and development. The centre is a bustlingly building with many different departments all dedicated to wherever curiosity made lead them; The S.I.R covers a range of fields and has an excellent professional reputation. The centre has many links with the academy making it a popular destination for field trips. Not only that, the S.I.R also has a science museum section open to all members of the public who are interested in popping down and checking it out.

Founded 35 years ago by a man named Grivel Archen, SunShine Primary school has grown since them. This tuition-free public school started with only 200 students and now holding more than 500 children yet somehow making it work. Known for its reputation of having one of the best public school systems around, SunShine prides itself on having received so many awards. But it is extremely proud of the garden that is open to the public and was grown by the students at SunShine school. All in all, SunShine school is a great and diverse school that welcomes all children.

Cafés have conventionally been the kindling for many an intimate relationship - a few select partners recline at a single table in a place public enough to necessitate a facade of refinery, but private enough so that the little chinks in a person's shell can get chipped away at.  Habits, quirks, secrets, opinions, worldviews; the transaction of all of these are made in the soft whispers, blushed cheeks, pursed lips and apprehensive brows.

The D'aramitz Café is not that kind of café.

Diners from different parties sit thigh-to-thigh together.  Every twitch, scratch, and itch nudges the adjacent eater.  Drinks are crowded on the table, and are often exchanged through the hands of two or three others before they reach the customer that paid for it.  If there are no more seats on the benches, then customers lean on the window or sit on the curb.

Intimacy is not a shy glance; it is a person leaning on the other so closely that simply turning the head too quickly would result with meeting lips.  It is an obnoxious smile followed with snickering and laughs scented with the week's thematic menu; sometimes it's the scent of a pizza with sun-dried tomatoes and olives, and other times it's the scent of salty, briny scent of a yellowtail roll dipped in soy sauce.

For those enrolled in the nearby university, the café is also known to serve as a perfect auditorium for orators and poets alike.  Midnights are often filled with the applause and cheer after a speech or presentation, regardless of the quality of the recital.  Free coffee, however, is only provided to those who passed their recitals.  Considering how it's one of the few caterers that make butter roast, it's a damn good prize to have before or after a long, stressful day.

It's not uncommon for the café to suddenly be closed on any given day; Sabine D'Aramitz, the owner, often takes the food truck out for special events.  In a city like Shine City, that means very, very often.

This is really starting to annoy me, you keep going on like I'm the only person posting 'divisive' topics and that they are all shit shows by their inception.

This Mass Effect discussion was actually rather civil until Ace of Hearts and pugbutter had a minor spat, and the JonTron thread only blew up because your post was so damn aggressive, you came out the gate SWINGING at anyone who called JonTron a racist when literally no one said that.

If you want words to have any fucking meaning at all, you have to give them some standards. 

Are these 100% accurate? Who knows? But calling somebody racist, (Aka meaning, Evil for thinking they are superior to another race.)

Maybe they have genuine concern (of this stranger you don't know/never met in your life)...but if you really had that. You'd talk to the person, privately and ask them straight up.

When you posted this which was filled with highly aggressive and confrontational language no one had called you racist, no one had even called JonTron a racist, my opening post was NOT agressive, this post WAS.

This is what leads to getting threads locked, politics are fine as long as everyone can discuss them calmly, and you can cherry pick but most people can debate and discuss, so no there is no reason to post on another site.  But if my political threads really bother you, then with no snarkyness, you can just ignore these threads, you dont seem to like them. A legit suggestion whether followed or not.
