Except this simply isnt true. This is the most active thread in off topic, fastest growing and 2nd largest. Do you really think after all this time, posts and exchanges that I 'cant handle' opposing opinions? Do you think I ever would have made a political hangout thread thinking id be surrounded by a bunch of people who agree with me?

Dont confuses ideological disagreement, devils advocay, random shitposting, or even friendly jokes with 'personal attacks' I've been handling discourse not just between me but other members since ive been posting in off-topic. I recently just had a conversation with an australian ethnostatist a few pages back, I'm not sure where you stand on ethnonationalism but I'm not a fan of it, the conversation was respectful, if I couldnt handle discourse that exchanhe never would have happened.

Your position has been made clear, free market place of ideas and all that dave rubin stuff, but realise that preaching the value of debate to someone who made a debate thread is a tad condescending. Whatever you think of my opinions this thread works, certain members dont post anywhere else on this forum but here.

But if I am at fault, its not putting in thread guidelines earlier so Id have a reference point to moderate behaviour with, I'll be correcting that now.

@Ruby As @mdk said, I wasnt responding to the new member (andrew) I was responding to mdk in response to a mod telling us to both knock it off. The back and forth wasn't getting us anywhere.

I was only responding andrew calling me salty over 'a political disagreement' when the issue was actually to do more with tagging, but he's new so he probably missed that and made an assumption.

Either way, I'm guessing I better put in some OP guidelines, I'll edit the first post and link everyone back to it.

Thats a nice idea. But actually I can. Just because you guys like it here, doesnt mean it cant be treated like any other thread. If a mod told me and mdk to 'knock it off' and then he continues to tag me after I directly asked him not to, (twice). he's on the fast track to the Ace Of Hearts special. This has gone beyond political disagreements, hes just trying to troll me and no amount of ron burgandy memes makes that less of an issue.

But I know youre dying to call me a hypocrite, find somewhere in this thread where ive continued to tag someone after they asked me not to, I'll wait.

And you might have missed the part where andrew was cursing at Xandrya because she made a fairly mild statement about gun control, but I didnt. Dont let your personal bias cloud your judgement fam.
