Who am I still waiting on for the first round of posts? Sound off if you're still involved and able to post as I'm aiming on moving this puppy next Friday. This should give everyone plenty of time to get at last a round of fighting in. Also, don't be shy to control the NPCs as that's why they are there and I'm sure it will help NN out tons. Just be sure not to treat them as low class, stupid thugs in classic kiddies cartoons.

Cody can't make his own weapons with his magic no. In fact it only just occurred to me he could use it offensively XD His Absolute Shield spell could be used to slap people in the face XD (...That's about it)
His magic is used by scattering his magic power into the air which he can then use to make barriers or negate magic/momentum. That's about the limit, armor was an advanced spell he wouldn't be capable of casting any time soon. Not really due to the magic power required (he's naturally high in that regard), however the mental strain on him would be enormous.
Or he can make barriers for people to run into. The Shield Spell is the only one which moves but (since he just condenses a chunk of his magic into one spot to move around).

Anyway it doesn't bother me if someone uses barrier magic at all.

My question is why did you think he was capable of making his own weapons? I never considered it once. Armor was a fair enough thing to question, was thinking of bringing that in much later however.

Also I like idea you have for the barrier magic. I would have said that, but I know that we already have someone that uses a magic similar to barrier (called Absolute Defense). @Lunarlors34, are you okay if someone uses barrier magic. Also I always wondered why Cody couldn't just make his own weapon and armor from his magic. But I'm assuming that's because of how much magic that might cost him?

Yeah, he does have morals and he's quite aware of the danger of basically slicing stuff apart with portals so he refrains from using that except for extreme situations. Typically, he'll just take your attacks and throw them back at you XD

One other idea I just thought of is Thread Magic, kinda works similarly to Donflammago's power in One Piece...only without turning people into puppets XD

I once wanted to do something related to Soul Magic but it seems like there's people already using that XD

Sure, well, the character I'm thinking of is someone who can take relatively simple powers and get really creative with them. The Barrier Magic is similar to the way it's depicted in this anime Kekkaishi or what Invisible Woman does with her forcefields, such as being able to carry objects and people with barriers, creating platforms to walk on air, collapsing barriers on a target to destroy them, forming weapons, and so on.

Portal Magic would be like using portals to redirect attacks back at their source, using them to cut stuff by cancelling a portal when the target is partway through them, teleporting objects and people to distant places, or bringing something through, laying traps, being able to spy on targets from vast distances and relay info, and so on so forth.

Well that's fine since the RP takes place a 100 years after the show. As for what you should know, you could try reading the first of the OOC which is right here. You can be part of a guild, join on sooner or later in the RP, or be guildless. It's your character, you choice, but you could always ask us more questions if you want.

There is also a summary here of what has happened in the RP if you want to read that. But if you want to quick summary of that summary, it goes like this. Phoenix Wing (light guild) eventually becomes more known throughout Fiore as a guild that is trying to show that wizards can be good and not bad as the tales during those 100 years ago. Phoenix Wing eventually decides to confront the Magic Council who had corrupt members, which resulted into a battle between the two with the guild victorious. With the Magic Council trying to reform itself, dark guilds (who were active) became less active. Currently we are in the Magic Games arc, there are 6 days and we're currently on the 5th which is a day of rest for everyone. And that is how much I could probably say, that may be helpful if your character has been listening to the news.

Also, what exactly is TV tropes?

It's basically a site that lists off all the cliches and trends that we see on TV on a regular basis. I spend far more time on there than I probably should. XD

I watched the first episode or so and spoiled myself a fair bit with TV Tropes...but other than that, I know next to nothing XD
