Isabel stared wide eyed at the.. person before here. I took her a moment to organize her thoughts and try to pick apart the stranger's words. It was difficult to decipher her meaning, but Isabel got it after a second.

"Er, yes. I am a student of CU. Are you Chak? My guide?"
Jax ignored Seleana as she walked away and turned back to his cousin and Skylar.

"Awful, they were," he spoke in an undertone now, worried that teachers wouldn't want this discussed. "With their pureblood shite. Anyone had a name they di'n't recognize an' they'd poke and prod t'find out if they were less'n pure. A lot of us di'n't pass their tests and got the shaft. Learned loads, but they were well scary.

"Tell me nuffin, Aed. I know it. What do you propose, then?"

Just trying to bump everyone, make sure you all see that we're moving again.

Is everyone still in? I know I was gone for a while, I worked every day last week, and between that and school there wasn't any time to get on.
What a Hufflepuff.
Isabel cried out in surprise, and thrust her hand forward. The Bottle whirred as it discharged the prepared spell. A wave of force emanated from Isabel, blowing the crumbling bits of wood away from her at great speed. Isabel smiled and lifted her notebook to write again. K-field worked like charm. Disintegrated booby trap. Must prepare new one. She checked the ground for a loos bit of rock or a string that might have set the trap off, but found nothing. That meant, she reckoned, that it had been set off by some sort of magic. She lifted her gauntleted hand and started turning the dial on the back of it, trying to find traces of the magic for capture and study.
Jax clapped Aeden affectionately on the cheek. "There's my man! I get it, though. He's scared. Scared of us older students, I 'spect. We learned Dark Arts from the Carrows when they were here." As he spoke, other students were gathering around. Their attitudes toward Clowers were varied, but most seemed disappointed at the very least. The last of the newcomers called the group a "council." "Well," Jax began with a roll of his eyes, "I'm well sorry, 'parently my chat with me cousin has interrupted this 'council.' Please forgive me, I did not mean to cause offense. "And by the bloody by, if I had to choose a 'Puff it'd be Dane over there not whoever you are." "Well if I'm a part of this," Dana spoke up, having followed Seleana over. "I just want to say, maybe you're jumping the gun a bit, Jax? It's been one class, maybe just wait a bit before complaining?"
I do want to say: Clowers isn't going to be another Umbridge who shies away from practical lessons and teaches nothing but theory. He's just getting a theoretical base in before wand work.
Clowers is a seasoned auror, he respects the Dark Arts he way you'd respect your enemy: appreciates them, but won't associate with them. The whole school is also very wary about the subject, because a good portion of students(Jackson among them) were actively taught the use of dark arts two years ago. I'll post IC tomorrow, I worked this morning and I'll be in class basically the rest of the day.
Why are all the students under the impression that DADA is a practical combat class? Clowers is overly cautious about the Dark Arts material, but it's strange for First Years to assume that they'd learn to fight dark wizards in class one.
Yeah, Primal. That could work. But she probably doesn't really know who Chak is. Someone at the University arranged it for her, and told her where to meet Chak. RBY, go ahead and so what you want as well. Probably we'll have a party of three pretty soon.
