It is indeed. I actually went back and forth about what number to choose for that. The other game was important too.

Happy New Years and all that.
No one needs to interact with him, but I put him downtown in case someone wants to.

It's really just meant to be a kind of introduction until I get to whip out his super powers.
On a street in downtown Metropolis, there was an old fashioned video arcade. “Old fashioned,” here meaning “cheap.” They didn't have any of the latest games, many in fact being nearly a thousand years old(the hardware long since replaced, but the game itself remaining unchanged). The upshot was, if you didn't mind the lack of modern neural feedback, it was a very affordable place for a gamer on a budget.

Tommy Tinker was one of these. His home computer could play many games, but was very bare-bones and had no virtual reality capacity. Here at Old Code, he could play on the old fashioned goggles-and-toggles VR for quarters on the hour. Today, however, his quarters were being put toward charitable use.

Tommy was standing, arms crossed with his hand on his chin in a thoughtful gesture, looking at the display screen as a younger human girl wore the goggles.

“It's not like the game pad on Mortal Kombat or Tekken, Sylvia,” he was telling her as her avatar on screen took another hit from her opponent. “You have to move your feet,” though she couldn't see, he demonstrated, perhaps subconsciously, a quick step as if avoiding a blow in a fistfight.

“I keep forgetting!” Her stress was rising as her health bar lowered. In a moment, her avatar fell down, lying on the ground with a view of the man across the ring moonwalking in victory.

“It's alright!” Tommy fed another quarter into Punch Out Classic VR, “Here, Smokin’ Joe is a tough opponent anyway. Try Brian Sutherland, he goes down easy.”

She made her selection and was soon swinging her arms at nothing, while her avatar landed punches on her mulleted contender. “Feet,” Tommy breathed, and she shuffled sideways in time to avoid Brian’s swing. Another punch and he went down. Sylvia jumped for joy and pulled the goggles off. Though it wasn't necessarily an impressive showing, a couple of nothing-better-to-dos had gathered and gave her an encouraging cheer.

“Nice! Try Ali next, he'll show you how to move your feet for real. Here,” he dropped a handful of quarters into her hand, “You're on your own, I've got a high score to beat on Guitar Hero 13.”

Some of the crowd, casual acquaintances of Tommy’s, followed him, while a few others stayed to play cheerleader for Sylvia’s next bout. After a quick count of his quarters, Tommy realized he'd only left enough for two tries. He shrugged, it was alright. He'd just have to beat it in one.

In a moment, he was shredding on the little plastic guitar.
Sounds good to me, though I might make a little fluff post today, just to bump the thread and introduce my character's secret ID.
@The Kid Lantern Yeah, Strength is just fine.

I kind of wanted to wait until a crisis of some form to reveal my character, as I wanted his secret identity to remain secret from most at first, but I don't know how long that will be. Is it work waiting?
Name - Thomas “Tommy” Tinker
Alias - Captain Marvel
Age - 12(though his powers give him the form and body of a young man)
Powers/Primary Skills -
~ Transform. By calling on the name of the wizard from whom his powers originate, he can transform between his true self, as a 12 year old boy, or Captain Marvel, who appears to be a man in his twenties.

~ Super Strength, speed, stamina, and flight. His powers are not as great as the Captain Marvel of old, as the magic of the wizard that granted them is currently spread across multiple people.

~ Magic. Like the Captains before him, Marvel can call lightning with ease, as well as share his powers if he so chooses(dividing his own power in half in the process). He has the capacity to cast spells as if he were a sorcerer, though he has little knowledge of magic.

~ Magical Vision. Can see the magic of spells laid out, allowing him to trace enchantments and use his own magic to unravel them.

Weaknesses - When in his true form, he is an ordinary near-human child, and can only transform by either saying “Shazam!” or by playing a recording of his own voice saying it.
Likewise, a recording of his own voice could be used to force him to change back. Only Tommy Tinker’s voice can transform him into Captain Marvel, and only Captain Marvel’s voice can change him back.

Appearance -

As a child, he is simply a younger version, often in jeans/shorts and a t-shirt.

Brief Bio - Tommy Tinker is a poor kid from Hell’a Gate. The child of a single father, it's not uncommon for him to be left to his own devices for most of the day, seven days a week. He tends more towards video games than sports which is unfortunate for someone without much pocket money to spend. Without being able to afford a computer or gaming console, he has to chip away at his meager allowance to visit the video arcade to get his fix.

One day, on the way to the arcade, he saw a stray cat, one he had seen many times before. It was looking scrawnier than he was used to seeing it, and he felt bad for the creature. In a fit of generosity, he purchased a can of wet cat food with the money he was on the way to the arcade with, and sat petting the cat as it ate.

When it was done licking its chops, it suddenly spoke in the clear, strong voice of a grown woman.

“I see a good heart in you, Thomas Tinker. Should you ever find yourself in a position to save people from graver dangers than hunger, call the name of the wizard, Shazam, and take a portion of my powers.”

Timmy could not believe his ears, and to date, has not dared to utter the magic word the cat gave him. He's afraid to say it, only for nothing to happen, and for his hopes to be dashed away.

Solomon’s Wisdom!

Is there room for people joining in here?

It's holiday times anyway, so I reckon most are a bit busy.
@Eviledd1984 Yeah, feel free. If everyone is still around, this is enough people.

@Starwinter CANT WAIT! Oops, caps lock. I'm leaving it.

@NerdyFox Do you have a plan to get your potential character involved in Northern issues?

I'm going to have to wait to see how closely we are allowed to be related to House Lords. If this close is not allowed, I can distance the relationship, or remove it entirely.
