“I’m not afraid of the police. But you? I might make an... exception. Do you have to go to a specialist store to fit into those pants? That can’t be cheap.”

“Chien Na Wei.”

The brutality made some sense to him, and it brought old memories to the surface; memories he thought he had buried, but this island he wagered would be a new trial of sorts where he would have to dig up the skeletons in his closet and face them. When he had fought the woman known as China White it had been in the early 2012 winter and the city was tense, and the winter was terrible. Count Vertigo had been behind bars when she moved into the power vacuum and started poisoning the citizens of Star City with her narcotics. He started investigating and ended up working closely by a girl who had been hurt by China White by the name of Tatsu Yamashiro; he nicknamed her “Katana” after her weapon of choice, which was a sentiment she found amusing as the two became friends throughout their venture to reveal China White’s criminal actions and bring her justice.

But they never truly succeeded. China White disappeared before she could be apprehended by the police and slipped through both of their hands. Katana was livid and continued her pursuit.

I should have gone with her, I owed that much to her.

He took a light breath as he pushed back the thought.

“She was just a drug lord?” He paused, “Did you catch her?”
I’ll be cleaning up and editing the CS’s but I figured posting them would be better considering it’d give me some incentive to not be a lazy schmuck.
MURDOCK
“I may be crazy, but it keeps me from going insane.”
W A Y L O N J E N N I N G S

IDENTITY:
Henry Matthew “Howling Mad” Murdock

D.O.B:
March 1st, 1978

ROLE:
Pilot

SKILLSET:
Piloting: Murdock is an expert pilot and can pretty much fly pretty much anything, or so he says. Taking away the bravado, there isn’t much to dispute that claim— Murdock has staunch experience with small craft airplanes, helicopters, construction vehicles, and motorcycles. Whilst he is not as skilled as Baracus in more forward ground vehicles he is a good option is needed to be their #2 driver. Generally if it can be driven, piloted, or sailed Murdock can figure it out well enough to consistently evade pursuit.

Soldier: It comes to no surprise that Murdock is a skilled soldier given his experience in the armed forces— he’s a crack shot, skilled in CQC, is tactically intelligent, and has been conditioned to be a soldier since he was young.

Genius Intelligence: Previous commanders have cited Murdock’s intelligence being “ridiculous” in scope, a fact that is reinforced given his comprehensive understanding, adept skills at acting a part, knowledge of the morse code, and his memorization of several languages and histories from multiple cultures. It’s presumed he has a photographic memory, but it’s hard to say for sure.

PERSONALITY:
Murdock is a notorious personality with a reputation for his eccentric and esoteric ways of looking at situations, though while some previous commanders cited it as “outside of the box” thinking others simply viewed it as “insane, eccentric behavior that are incompatible with any unit”. Whichever the case may be, Murdock gets the job done even if he adds a bit quirk in how he does it and interacts with his fellow soldiers. There is often debate that if Murdock is actually unfit for service or if he’s just channeling the appearance of a madman to get a dismissal— and really it is difficult to say one way or the other due to how he reacts in one situation and then another. But if you ask Murdock if he believes he is crazy he will just tell you that insanity is just a state of mind; a comment that is either concerning or amusing.

Madness aside, Murdock is a good soldier and a particularly moral individual if you put his eccentric quirks aside. He values the liberties of others and is eager to help the less than privileged in a situation even if there seems to be little logic in joining the fight. During his time on the squad following their vigilante activities he has stood up for the homeless, the disabled, and others where they could not for themselves which even Baracus has admitted is the “sanest” behavior Murdock has ever given. But Murdock will often do the sanest thing in the most insane fashion, of course.

Murdock is generally jovial and enjoys the lighter things in life— cartoons, comic books, making light of bad scenarios, impressions of characters from various art media, absurdist humor, and loud hectic laughing. However these tendencies to be “the living embodiment of a cartoon character” does put him at odds with some of his squadmates and the people they help with these people often looking like Murdock like he’s drug-addled or an alcoholic. But neither is the case in reality. Murdock is just… Murdock.

BACKGROUND:
Henry “Howling Mad” Murdock was born in an upper class neighborhood in Baltimore, Maryland during the winter of 1978. The third of a bundle of six, Henry’s childhood was one of which where he had to stand out from the youngest and eldest siblings that he was surrounded by. Though Henry’s family was affluent, Henry was always the “odd duck” of the Murdock family— a fact he would embody later in life.

Stories of Henry’s childhood changes periodically; varying on who in specific he is talking to. If Henry is legitimately insane there could be a variety of reasons for this— and if he isn’t it is clear that he isn’t comfortable with the events that went on. However, what is known as far as the facts are concerned is that Henry was mentored by his uncle, James Murdock, an entrepreneur and aviation enthusiast who started up his own aviation company that has serviced privately and publicly since 1961. The line can be drawn that Henry’s initial interest in piloting can be attached to these experiences with his uncle.

Joining up with the military at the age of eighteen, Henry found his previous experience and fascination with piloting led to a successful career flying military jets and helicopters for the government’s armed forces. Eventually he found himself speeding through training and becoming a prominent member of the Thunderbirds. It was with this role in the group that Henry would refine his abilities as a trick pilot that would lead to his future handling of aircraft that would lead to several unorthodox runs that would save lives in his succeeding military career.

Following 9/11, the Thunderbolts-era for the young man was over. He was transferred over and somehow found himself assigned as a helicopter pilot over his experience as a jet pilot— the reasons of why aren’t exactly concrete. But what is factually known is that Henry started his career as a helicopter pilot over the skies of Iraq and Afghanistan in 2001.

Eventually, Henry was assigned to a special operations team after proving is skill and finesse as a pilot during the war. His “eccentric” personality aside, he was transferred and found himself an undeniable asset to the team. Henry found his personality turning some of his squad-mates off but in the end they recognized his abilities made his “eccentric” tendencies to be tolerable. Henry stuck around with the squad even after the squad’s dismissal and a supposed indictment. His commander promised him that his name would be cleared and they escaped from captivity.

IDENTITY:
Bariah Aldnoah “Bad Attitude” Baracus

D.O.B:
May 21st, 1984

ROLE:
Engineer

SKILLSET:
Mechanical Prodigy: Baracus despite the challenges of her gender has always understood the mechanical and the electrical; almost as if she was born partially a machine. Her talent and skill with a wrench and a drill is second to few and has earned her accolades from her comrades, family, and superiors. Murdock calls her a “Lady MacGyver” and for very valid reasons— if you need it built or fixed, she’s the one you go to.

CQC Expert: Since she was small, Baracus had to fight through life due to gender conventions telling her what to be and people trying to force her to be it. Even before the army she knew how to fight and fight well— it was just honed in the armed forces.

Expert Driver: If it has four wheels, Baracus can drive it as well as Murdock can fly a helicopter upside-down. Whether it is a car, van, truck, or something in-between she has an aptitude for driving it and making sure whoever is on their tail isn’t by the end of the pursuit.

PERSONALITY:
Baracus is loud, independent, and generally… fierce. Due to her childhood and the sexist jabs in the armed forces, she has learned that the best way to shut somebody up is to put them in the ground; a fact that would’ve gotten her discharged long ago had she not been so valuable to the military through her expertise as an engineer and a driver. She’s prone to violence but isn’t all too much of an idiot— she knows when her temper is controlling her, but realistically she also knows how to channel it. Some people are heavily against her aggressive attitude, but others contemplate that had it been a man with the same bite that they wouldn’t be having the conversation of thinking it odd.

Additionally, Baracus has a no-nonsense attitude with an abrasive yet blunt font to her comments. If she has an opinion of something she’s going to say it and you are going to hear it even if you don’t want to. But if you give good orders and line up with the values that she believes in you will be unlikely to find her as your enemy.

She is also a firm against drug abuse, alcoholism, and profane indulgences— if you are mad, be mad; but being profane is only going to lower your intelligence in the long run. This extends to her strong sense of guardianship over children no matter their race or gender; a fact that Murdock has joked about in the past with comments such as “protect the babies!” and “mother goose” but Baracus has heard worse names actually meant to insult her so she thinks little of it even if she has little patience for Murdock’s insane behavior.

BACKGROUND:
Bariah “Bad Attitude” Baracus was born in a rough neighborhood in Chicago, Illinois during the spring of 1984. The only child of a single mother, Bariah’s home was in a low income apartment development in the inner city for the majority of her childhood— a fact that would carve her into the woman she would become.

Bariah grew up in the company of other children of the projects and had a tolerable albeit rough experience. Between her initial dislike of her neighbors and the solitude of being alone whilst her mother worked late nights for the majority of the week; there wasn’t much of an idyllic childhood for the young girl and her discontent of it became abundantly clear as she began getting into fights with boys and girls alike who would taunt her about her mother. Fights that would happen to define her temper but also introduce her to her passion— electrical engineering.

This happened when she was pulled off a boy during one of these fights by a maintenance man by the name of Bosco who would serve as the girl’s sole father figure and mentor. The realization that not only that fixing stuff with her hands was calming was cathartic and when Bosco realized the girl was naturally gifted in his field he began serving as her tutor in the field, filling the gap for a sadness that was in him some years back when his own daughter got killed accidentally. So he taught the girl how to use a wrench and taught her his trade. He also would go on to eventually teach her how to properly throw a punch. Bariah started to do better in school and got into less fights; she was focused and inspired.

Eager to get out of the projects and in the shadow of 9/11, Bariah felt herself inspired— the vicious terrorism sprung a fire in her and she found herself wanting to bring her years of putting idiot kids in the ground into real use. Her volatile temper got her into several rough situations with her drill instructor during training but eventually it was discovered that Bariah was particularly talented as an engineer, mechanic, and technician. Eventually she ended up in Iraq.

Assigned to a special operations team after showing a resilience in the field as well as mechanical genius on & off, Bariah found herself among new squadmates and around less people who patronized her for being a “tomboy” among other assertions. Bariah found herself doing very well on the squad, befriending many of them until the squad’s dismissal and a supposed indictment. Her commander promised her that her name would be cleared and they escaped from captivity.

The rest is history.

Well regardless, I'll get a post up tomorrow probably but am perfectly happy waiting for Morden to post first. Up to you guys.

I'd like to see some Super introspection, but its on you two.
Well, Superman is still her friend. She's not going to let him live this down for awhile though.
The underlying reason why any RP dies is because someone or someones stop posting regardless of whether the RP relies on collabs or not. So let's all just stay active, yea?

Yeah, I'm overdue for a King Alex III post.
Haha, it's my shortest post yet but I think it's Diana's strongest when it comes to her voice.
