Fair enough.
Thank you for your interest and for joining for a bit.
Happy gaming!

No need to be disappointed. The 14 is enough. Expect an IC post soon.
I am quite curious why there’s so much aversion to the updated rules. Nothing drastic changed, it’s mainly making definitions and descriptions more clear. Not trying to change y’all’s mind about playing, just trying to understand a mindset I keep coming across online but not with in-person players.
@CajunRobinHood Well, I'll have to bow out, then. I A.) don't have access to the rules for D&D 5.5 and B.) purposefully don't have access because I don't like the changes they made to the system from original 5e.
Best of luck, and let me know if you decide to go with a different edition.

Feel free to do so.

Don't be too hard on yourself, Cascade does have an Intelligence of 9.

Ill use that then. Ill roll in one moment.
Not great... 13 persuasion but okay I guess.

Of course.
Children don't enjoy being yelled at by grown-ups. This child in particular finds it rather scary. Tolomeo is also relatively new to Zephyr, so he doesn't know Cascade as well as the other villagers. Factor all this in with the fact that children aren't known for thinking logically, and you’ve got yourself a child who would very much rather swiftly leave the vicinity of the scary shouter than answer questions or give up the first reliable source of warmth he's had for a while.

As a result of Cascade's outburst, both of you will be needing to make Persuasion checks with disadvantage.
