The kidnapper lets out a cry of "Ow! Sonuva-!" after being hit by Cadmus's longsword, the blade cutting deep into his flesh where Meli's spell hit him before. But, he remains standing and glares at Cadmus.

Meli retorts back to Cadmus, "Oh good! That makes two of us!" as she fires another blast of verdant green energy at the two kidnappers through the net. Unfortunately, while she had aimed for the bandit that Cadmus was facing, he simply ducks and the blast flies over his head.

Said bandit speaks, "Alright, fine! You're facing me then," He then tries to swing his blade at Cadmus, only for the blade to bounce off of Cadmus's golden scaled arm again. The blade rings after metal meets metal. The bandit hisses in realization, "That's not an ordinary arm! What are you?!"

The second bandit, is still wresting to hold onto Meli and the net she's in. He angrily snarls at Meli, "Hold still, ya runt!" before he brings down the pommel of his blade towards her head. She lets out a cry of pain, as the pommel hits hard on the back of her head.

There is a serious bump on her head, but she's still conscious. She spits at him defiantly, "You hit like a little girl!"

Kalila gives a tired but relieved smile to Gerta when she greets her in the hallway. She follows her downstairs to see the food and the staff. She blushes slightly when her stomach growls and meets everyone of her hunger. Apparently being scared takes a lot of energy.

Before anything else, Gerta introduced the staff to her. Kalila does give a smile and wave, albeit shyly, and greets the staff in turn, “Hello!” Then Gerta proceeds to begin a prayer. Kalila decides to mimic the rest of the staff and bow her head respectfully during the prayer. There was no sense in causing trouble over a difference in how things are done.

Besides, there was nothing wrong with giving thanks for the things they’ve been blessed with.

With Greta’s go ahead, it was time to eat. Of course, Kalila hadn’t forgotten her words last night. Upon seeing that a seat by Gerta is open, she decides to sit there.

When she does so, she speaks to her, “I can’t thank you enough, Gerta. Though, I suppose now is the best time to explain myself?”
Oooh girl, she done already done had herses! Lol, no edit needed then. Posting now.

Now I’m a little worried…

It’s too early in the morning for Kalila. XD
@Guardian Angel Haruki Hey, can you give me a perception check?

The bandit's eyes widen as Cadmus bum rushes him and all he can say is "Oh shi-!" before Cadmus's blow lands and effectively knocks him out cold!

Meli calls back at him desperately and somewhat irritated, while she struggles in their grips and the net again, "What do you think I'm trying to do?!"

The two bandits look to Cadmus as he stands closer, and one urges the other, "Oh shit. Go go go! The cart isn't far now!"

The two keep dragging Meli away. They are clearly trying to hurry, but Meli is making their escape much slower and difficult than it could have been.

Kalila immediately fell asleep in her room. She didn't care about the smell, she was just tired. She didn't even fight sleep when it claimed. She thought that she would sleep through the night safely. But she could never have expected what would come next.

She finds herself among stars in darkness. Confusion sets in again, but Kalila is able to realize that she is currently dreaming right now. One star grows brighter and closer as though to examine her. The fact Kalila felt more curiosity from the star, rather than cruel judgment or a desire to bring about harm does somewhat help with her nerves. She was curious as well, but that didn't last...

Confusion sets in once more when the star transforms into nothing more than blue-gray smoke. The roiling smoke keeps shifting and changing forms before she could truly comprehend the shape they were trying to form.

Her eyes are wide when a voice speaks and brings up the three wishes she made. She starts trying to say, "Wait a minute--"

But the voice continues, as though to emphasize its point, lists the three things she had essentially wished for in only one word each. The smoke reforms to show her mother, her sister, and herself with eyes aglow with magic!

"All things have a price. All debts must be paid."

Kalila eyes widened again at the words. The smoke coalesced into light once again, and it pulsed three times. She took a step back, as though the light was going to explode once more.

"When I call, you will answer."

Kalila quickly calls out in response to the last words, the demand, with pure confusion and in a futile attempt to learn something about this situation beyond the wishes, "How if I don't know who you are?!"

There was no answer. The star explodes outwards, causing her to yelp, and she screams as she feels herself falling through the stars and smoke and into the abyss.

She gasps sharply as she quickly sits up in the bed. Once again, she finds that she has to slow her breathing and her heart down. She tries to herself that it was just a dream, and that there was nothing to be scared of. She's safe and unharmed.

But then, something else catches her attention: Something in her hand, tightly clutched and against her chest. She trembles as she pulls it away and takes a look at the object in hand: A glass bottle or decanter. It's not a typical glass bottle that would hold any spirit. The craftsmanship is fine, with a long bottleneck and a tear shaped body. The handle is crafted to look like a wave of water manifested into glass to help hold the bottle.

All of the glass is transparent, with fine silver filigreed designs around the edges. Within the body of the bottle, something else can be seen: Iridescent smoke that roiled within. The smoke kept changing colors one after the other. If anything was in the bottle, nobody would be able to see it past the smoke. The smoke does occasionally rise through the neck and puff out of the bottle itself.

Kalila stared at it as she tried to recall if she had this last night, but she ended up staring at the smoke somewhat mesmerized.

The trance is broken with loud banging that caused Kalila to jump. Thankfully, she didn't lose the bottle. She takes a moment to recall everything that happened, and she calls back, "Oh, Yes! Yes, I'm awake,"

She moves to the window and takes in the fact that the sun hasn't risen yet. She looks back to the door as she calls back, "Okay, I'm coming!" She looks at her own dress and the bottle in hand. Considering that she had nothing else to wear, and she had no idea what this bottle is, it was better to just head out of the room and go meet with Gerta for breakfast, and to explain her situation. Plus, she needed to be able to pay Gerta back for her assistance.

Somehow, she had a feeling that she would need this bottle, and if she left it behind, it would just appear in her hand again.
The longsword strikes true, and lands right into his side. The bandit lets out a cry of pain, "Augh! Damn it! That really hurt!" He then growls, "So this pup has some bite to him, eh?!"

Cadmus can hear another yell from Meli and another cry from a bandit, as her spell strikes true, but the damage was not as devastating as his. The bandit cried irritated, "Gah! You little! Why don't you just stay still?!"

The bandit Cadmus is facing, speaks as he twirls his Scimitar in an attempt to be intimidating, and he boastfully speaks, "Fear me, for I know the secret technique of the Greatest King's sword fighting skills! Behold!" He moves to charge and attack Cadmus again. But, in a comedy of errors, the pommel of the sword hits him on his face, while he trips over a rock. He face plants into the earth in front of Cadmus, and is resoundly knocked unconscious.

The other bandits are still dragging Meli away, while the third bandit with his hands freed sighs, "Ugh...Idiot! Looks like I gotta take care of this myself..."

He lifts his loaded crossbow and takes aim at Cadmus. He fires, and the bolt pierces through what armor Cadmus is wearing! It's clear that this bandit is much more dangerous because he just tried aiming for Cadmus's heart!

Kalila nods in the affirmative at her question about her time with Miss Thornwick going alright. Before she could answer in full Gerta suggests getting her a room for the night and talking about the situation in the morning. Kalila nods again as she answers Gerta, her voice grateful, but definitely tired, "Yes...that sounds good. I have a lot to think over as well,"

She does follow Gerta's lead, but she does catch Gerta's brief glance at the tapestry! So...she senses that something was wrong with the draft too? Kalila doesn't ask about and instead goes with Gerta up the stairs. She thanks her again, "Thank you, Gerta,"

She makes further comments or inquiries, but she still keeps her eyes peeled as they continue onwards to wherever Gerta is leading her up the stairs. She is considering keeping a weapon nearby while she slept just in case. But then the fatigue rears its head in, and she realizes that she is going to be sleeping heavily. She even wonders if she is even going to wake up before it's too late if she is in danger in the middle of the night.
Meli doesn't seem to notice Cadmus either as she screams at the bandits, "Get away from me!!!" She manages to flatten her palm for a familiar spell, despite the net's entanglement, and with an arcane word, a beam of verdant green energy fires at the bandit. He simply side steps to let the beam hit the earth instead. He laughs, "Oh give it up, girlie! You're gonna go to a nicer place than this dump,"

The bandit in question then turned to see Cadmus approach quickly, and with a sinister grin he laughs, "Oh? Well, this just got interesting!" He unsheathes his blade, and he moves to strike at Cadmus. But, his blade simply bounces off of Cadmus's shield! He calls to them, "Get going! I got this boy!"

The bandits heed him and they proceed to continue dragging Meli away, and she screams in desperation as they pull her away, "CAD!"

Kalila is definitely confused when her instincts, the new fire of magic in her veins doesn't react. She somehow realized what it meant: There was no magic. It really was just the wind. But that shouldn't be possible! There are no other ways to get into this room. It doesn't make sense...how is the wind able to pass through solid stone without some kind of entry point?

She gasps when the door opens as she stumbles back into...Gerta! She looks up to Gerta as the hands steady her and she speaks in surprise and relief, "Gerta!" Her shoulders rise and fall as she catches her breath and tries to calm down.

As she asks her if everything is okay, and comments on her pallor, Kalila looks back and forth from her face to the fluttering curtain to her face again. She lets out a shaky sigh as she answers, "I...I'm fine...I-" She looks to the scissors in her hand, and she drops them, as though scared that she was going to accidentally hurt Gerta with them.

She apologizes while chiding herself, "Sorry. Ah, look at me, getting jumpy at a draft in the room..." Of course there was nothing to be afraid of here. She felt ridiculous at this point, getting scared at nothing now.
