So, before I get cracking on with my intro post, I need a couple clarifications. We are arriving here independently of each other. Each to investigate the park for our own reasons. But since we've established histories with each other, does this mean this is our first job together, even by chance? Or do we know each other, but we came here independently for reasons?
This case is definitely the latter. Your characters know each other, but came to the amusement park independently for reasons.
I guess the obvious question is "What happened here?"
Upon investigating the fence door, Loch can see that a padlock is hanging off of the chain, in tact. Loch would realize that somebody lock picked the fence door open earlier today.
@Guardian Angel Haruki Was it your intention to have O'Malley start with his back to the others or can he see them from the get go?
Yes, that was my intention. He can hear them approach if they're not deliberately sneaking up on him.
Duck-Billed O'Malley uses magic. He rolls a 13 and opts to observe another place. Specifically, any place in sight of Wilderness Wonderland's security cameras.
OK. I'll go ahead and send the result to you over PMs.
I want Loch to investigate the fence's door on the way in. Would that be Investigate a Mystery or Read a Bad Situation?
The sun sets and the light fades, allowing the shadows of the trees to grow longer and the shadows to encompass the abandoned park. The amusement park, once brimming with life and light once upon a time, now sits alone...broken and decrepit. Fireworks used to light the skies, but only the stars keep it company now. Beneath the shattered building pieces lie secrets and dangerous shadows that only few dare to face. This tale follows four of such souls...
The shadows of this place long and hunger... Death is very much a possibility. And those who live...will they walk away unscathed? Or will they be changed forever?
The three of you drive in your own vehicles through the empty woods and fields to the abandoned amusement parks. Upon reaching the place, you all see that there is a fence around the park. For those who have been here before, or did their research, they would realize that the fence wasn't here when the amusement park was active. It seems the fence was set up to keep people out.
However, a door in that fence is open! That allows the three investigators to enter and approach the closed main gate of the park.
There, they see something standing a little aways from the main gate itself: A platypus animatronic wearing a leprechaun outfit. The animatronic is slowly alighting itself and starting to move!
You were asleep, and feel yourself waking up. The first thing you see is the Main Gate. Heavy metal doors closed, with a blackened screen near it. You can see the leading mascot, Jack the Jackalope painted on a crumbling wall, along with faded paintings of other mascot. There is also graffiti littered on the broken walls and doors. There are also cameras on the walls that aren't broken at all!
You notice that the people you're familiar with are nowhere nearby....
After a few seconds of taking in your surroundings, you hear static for a brief moment before a different sound comes through.
"O'Malley? O'Malley, can you hear me? Come in, O'Malley!" A child's voice asks. There's no doubt: It's Joey!
Heads up! Starting next Tuesday, RL will get busier for me. So I am going to go ahead and get the actual game started beforehand, since I've got all of the posts for Prologues out for now. ^_^
@Redking0380 Please don't forget about establishing your William's histories with the rest of the Crew from The Wronged List. ^_^
•They helped you at a critical point in your quest for revenge. Tell them what you needed help with. •They stood between you and what you needed to find out. Ask them why. •They also lost a friend or relative to these monsters. Ask them who it was. •Relations, close or distant. Tell them exactly what. •You saved their life, back when they were a pathetic newbie hunter. Ask them what you saved them from. •You respect their hard-earned knowledge, and often come to them for advice. •They showed you the ropes when you were learning how to fight. •They saw you absolutely lose it and go berserk. Tell them what the situation was, and ask them how much collateral damage you caused.
Fun Fact: Duck-Billed O'Malley had a realistic brown and black color scheme like that of an actual platypus back when he was built. But this was changed to match Perry the Platypus's teal and orange color scheme during a promotional event for Phineas and Ferb back in 2007. The change was supposed to be temporary, but the kids liked it so much that O'Malley refused to change back when the event was done.
Edit: Also, there's meant to be a - in Duck-Billed. You seem to forget to add that every so often though.
I did not know that. Thanks for sharing! XD
Sory about the lack of a dash. ^^" I'll be sure to keep that in mind from now on.
Two of the characters have completed their prologues, while two are still in progress. ^_^
Also...I can't believe nobody has made this joke yet, so I will!
Duck Billed O'Malley: *Stands there* Doofenshmirtz: A Leprechaun Platypus? Duck Billed O'Malley: *Dons the hat* Doofenshmirtz: Perry the Leprechaun Platypus!
A small group of people all meet at an abandoned and derelict amusement park for their own reasons. The amusement park opened 15 years ago, greatly advertised and rising in popularity, only for it to suddenly shut down 5 years ago. Nobody knows why the park shut down, and any articles or information about the park were all deleted or taken down from various sources. The only clue and hope the investigators have is the AI Mascot Guide in the Amusement Park who seems to be more than just mere programming...
