If you are a fan of Warhammer 40,000 or Age of Sigmar, let me know. Maybe we can put together an RP. I play Ironjawz & Kruleboyz in AOS and Salamanders & Drukhari in 40K.

Bio
I am a veteran of the United States Army and the US Army National Guard. I spent three years on Active Duty serving in the 4th Infantry Division (Mechanized) at Ft. Carson, CO, and the 3rd Armor Division at Kirch Göns, West Germany. I spent 18 years in the Army National Guard with the 26th Infantry Division "Yankee" and 29th Infantry Division (Light), "The Blue and the Gray". I was deployed to Bosnia-Herzegovina with the 29th ID (L) in 2001 - 2002. I have also been reading military history articles and books since I was 10 years old. I do prefer Military Role Plays over all other genres, primarily because I have a vast knowledge of the subject including personal experiences. At the very least, my characters are always veterans.
I have been writing for pleasure for at least 35+ years but only got into forum-based Role Playing about eighteen years ago. I do enjoy Nation Role Plays and get into minute detail when designing my military. The only reason I enjoy excruciating detail in my militaries is because for me, it is fun. My education and experience on this subject afford me the insight to see the depth of the structure. It is not just a General and a large pile of soldiers. If someone wants assistance in designing an army, navy, or air force, please send me a PM. I will help. Please specify what level (echelon) or depth you would like me to go. When I say echelon, I mean Army, Corps, Division, Brigade/Regiment, Battalion/Squadron, Company/Troop/Battery, Platoon, and Squad/Section.
When I was a student in High School, I used to play Dungeons & Dragons. Recently, I have been DMing a 5e campaign of my creation for my son and his friends. 5e is so much less cumbersome than earlier editions of D&D. I do have an interest in Tolkien-esque fantasy-styled Role Plays as well. Time travel has always been a fun genre for me, but to do it well, one must have a firm grasp of historical facts.
There are only a few fanfictions I will participate in; Star Wars and Star Trek are two of them. I want to do an exclusively Klingon RP one of these days. I also avoid Canon characters.
I have real-world martial arts experience. I would love to write an RP about hand-to-hand combat, no fantasy magic chit, just hands elbows, knees, and feet. Maybe the occasional head butt thrown in to mix things up. I trained in Krav Maga for six and a half years. I earned a first-degree black belt in Krav Maga on 3 June 2017.
Krav Maga is an Israeli martial art form that employs practical self-defense techniques drawing forms & techniques from Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Taekwando. It is very brutal, demanding, and aggressive. During the seven years I trained, I have bruised two ribs, sustained several muscle pulls, and various lacerations and bruises over my body. I have received a sprained ankle and a fractured wrist. Before the first black belt test, I received a bone bruise to my right shin; where my roundhouse kicks impact. Yet, I am stupid enough to continue training. [Regardless of the physical pain, it is more fun than any other physical activity I have engaged in. Fortunately, the bone bruise healed up prior to the third and final test. EDIT: I did leave the sport over five years ago. :(]
Over two years ago I completed my first novel, a science fiction set in the 24th century. It focuses on a Private Military Corporation solely employed by the earth government. I started a second book in November 2022 and hope to work on that this summer when I have more time.
Send me a PM for a Role Play or if you would like to see what sort of an army I could build for you.

What Brings You To Role Player Guild: There is a large community of writers here. I enjoy the hobby even though I rarely get time to participate. Currently, I try to limit my stories to one at a time. Unfortunately, I rarely find one I enjoy and others are willing to write in. When I do, they die way too early. Life Before You Came To Role Player Guild: It was very different. I don’t know how to explain it in just a few words or sentences. Life Since You Came To Role Player Guild: This is just a side hobby. I have many irons in the fire and this is just one of them. It has taken a back seat to my real life activities.

Name: Benedetto Giovanni La Guardia "Benny" or "Johnny" Age: 31 Description/Appearance: Benny La Guardia stands 5'6" tall and weighs 155 Lbs. He has short cropped black hair, brown eyes and a distinctive barrel chest along with an oversized nose, often referred to as his "Shnoz". He has dark bushy eyebrows and very Italian features. Benny is in decent shape, can be seen with a black eye or some other such injury as a result of fighting. He enjoys boxing. Occupation: Police Officer, NYPD Affiliation: Receives a regular stipend from The Scarpello Family in order to look the other way. Skills:
- Small unit tactics from time spent in the Infantry (US Army) - How to operate rifle (M1903 Springfield) and machine gun (Chauchat 1915 MG) - .38 cal Revolver (NYPD) - Criminal Law - Constitutional Law - Boxing
History: Benedetto Giovanni Laguardia grew up in the Bensonhurst section of Brooklyn, what is commonly referred to today as "Little Italy", spending much of his youth on the ball fields playing baseball with the neighborhood boys. He received his secondary education at the New Utrecht Technical School where the students mockingly stated, "you have to be NUTS to go to New Utrecht Technical School." The school is located on 80th Street in Brooklyn.
Benny's cousin Fiorello Henry La Guardia was quite active in student government at New Utrecht School. The older cousin was elected to the US House of Representatives in 1917, but his term of office was interrupted during the Great War. While Fiorella went off to Caproni CA.5 bombers with the Army Air Service in Italy, Benedetto was drafted into the 308th Infantry Regiment of the 77th Infantry Division, a unit made up primarily of draftees from New York City.
The 308th acquired some notoriety while serving in the Argonne Forest in early October, 1918. Under the command of Major Charles Whittlesey, a Harvard Law Graduate, who practiced law in NYC. Benny's company along with five other companies of the 308th found them stranded behind enemy lines and fought a last stand battle for six days in the French forest. Their courage and determination earned them the moniker of "The Lost Battalion".
In 1920, Benny's cousin Fiorello was appointed as President of the New York City Board of Alderman. With an influential cousin and his status as a veteran and member of the famed, Lost Battalion, Benny found himself employment with the New York Police Department. He enjoyed his work on the Police Department and saw no problem in accepting free gifts from an appreciative constituent.
Benny earned a reputation as a scrapper, someone who dropped the gloves, using his fists to dole out punishments for misdemeanors instead of dragging the culprit before the courts. For felonies, he felt obligated to make an arrest. As time wore on, the act of taking "gifts" became lucrative for Officer La Guardia and he soon found himself making out pretty well economically by avoiding certain areas if the price was right.
In the world of syndicated crime, Benny was considered to be on certain gang's payroll, receiving a regular stipend for turning a blind eye or keeping other police officers away. There were more than a handful of NYPD officers in the 1920s who found additional income in this manner.
Benny's cousin, Fiorello was re-elected to the House of Representatives in 1923 and would later go on to be elected Mayor of New York City in the 1934. North Beach Airport in East Emhurst near the confluence of the East River and Flushing Bay was named after Mayor LaGuardia, Benny's famous relative in 1953.
Ethnicity: Sicilian. Half-Sicilians are allowed to be associates but cannot be made under current rules. Don: Donato Scarpello Consiglieri: Anthony Geraci Size:: < 40 - the Don has been keeping the recruitment low and overworking the crews doing the alcohol work. Area of Influence: Brooklyn, especially around Sunset Park, Borough Park, Park Slope, Flatbush, Park Slope, Brooklyn Heights and Bed-Stuy. Moving into Jersey as well.
Overview: The Scarpello family is a real 'Moustache Pete' operation of old world values and mafiosi credo. However, the allure of Prohibition and the increase in resources has created tensions as the organization tries to protect itself and its prime position at the South Brooklyn Terminal, expand into New Jersey and lock down even more docks, and set up front businesses for the booze distribution. The problem, of course, is that the old man is holding on too tightly, such as forbidding business dealings with non-Italians, particularly the Jews and the Blacks. There's a lot of power in the Scarpellos, but the old men just want their peace and quiet in a time of opportunity and the younger guys aren't having it. Part of what Scarpello is trying to do is keep the crews of Polumbo and Mazzara from getting too dominant, forcing a turnover.
The old guard and the young blood are a couple gunshots away from a civil war in the family. The reason it hasn't happened yet is because Tony Geraci, the consiglieri, is well-regarded on both sides and is keeping things going with shuttle diplomacy. Current operations include; docks, alcohol distribution, prostitution and extortion. There are four crews in the Scarpello family, with about 30 or so soldiers and associates, with more muscle available in the traditionally Italian parts of Brooklyn. The truth is that in a bid to control wages and skim off as much as possible, the Don has kept the numbers of soldiers dangerously low, especially in the operations that have the best growth potential but are under capos of questionable loyalty.
Caporegimes:
- Vito Polumbo - Younger and more progressive than his Don, Vito Polumbo is the guy that runs the Brooklyn docks and set up the Scarpello bootlegging operations. The shipping from other nations, the unloading and distribution comes primarily from his operations. He is, for all intents and purposes, the most powerful and lucrative single operation in the Scarpello family thanks to Prohibition and his quick recognition of it. He uses the funding to make sure that his crew are well-outfitted and loyal. Polumbo is currently in a bind because Don Scarpello wants a bigger cut of the profits during a time of growth and investment. Meanwhile, Geraci is keeping the peace, but for how long? Polumbo's crew is tough, working the docks, but Polumbo is a deal maker and has successfully negotiated with unions in the past. He keeps trying to bring on more talent, but Scarpello keeps trying to keep him in his place. Scarpello sees a threat, Polumbo sees more money. Geraci is trying to keep the two from going to war. - Salvatore Mazzara - Another young turk in the Scarpello family, Mazzara's crew move liquor into a variety of places, starting with the brothels but then moving into other venues as the alcohol smuggling really got underway. He started off as part of the Baglio crew. However, with Prophibition, he has set up the Pappalardo Olive Oil Company as a front and is, secretly in negotiations with the Blacks to move liquor into the Harlem jazz clubs, despite the Don's prohibition on working with 'those people.' (and that's the nicest thing he has to say.) Mazzara is a dapper sort of guy, a guy that knows how to use a gun and sweet talk while holding it. Mazzara wants minimal disruption to his operations, though he is concerned that Scarpello isn't dynamic enough to keep the business going as more than his retirement fund. He is, however, Geraci's nephew and is staying on the fence, for now. - Joseph Baglio - Part of Scarpello's old regime, Baglio focuses on protection rackets, a pretty traditional mafia undertaking. Because his territory covers much of Western Brooklyn, outside of Crown Heights and other traditionally Jewish areas, he has a lot of manpower compared to the other crews. Baglio is totally loyal to Scarpello and has the bulk of the family's muscle.

I have no idea what sort of posting frequency you are looking for, but you did say you have a job, so it cannot be that quick. I have four young children I take care of and can post at least once per week; maybe twice if I am excited about the role play.

Sterling, I am a fan of the roaring 20s and a good Al Capone style mobster RP set in Chicago or NYC. Either is fine with me. I can take the mobsters or a cop. Maybe a cop on the take?
Hello RogerD, I am a fan of both Star Trek and Stargate SG-1. I watched the original SG1 movie and the subsequent SG1 television series ~20 years ago. I have a question. Since you want each of us to control one team, I must assume that you want five separate Character Sheets for each of the five members of the team, is this correct?

Quotes or Sayings: “Those who fail to learn the lessons of the past are doomed to repeat them.” – Winston Churchill paraphrasing George Santayana. “If you’re going to fight, fight like the third monkey on the ramp to Noah’s ark and brother…It’s starting to rain.”

Advice To The World: Forgive the actions of those who came before us. Behaviors we consider heinous crimes today were generally accepted practices many years ago.

<div style="white-space:pre-wrap;">I am a veteran of the United States Army and the US Army National Guard. I spent three years on Active Duty serving in the 4th Infantry Division (Mechanized) at Ft. Carson, CO, and the 3rd Armor Division at Kirch Göns, West Germany. I spent 18 years in the Army National Guard with the 26th Infantry Division <span class="bb-i">"Yankee"</span> and 29th Infantry Division (Light), <span class="bb-i">"The Blue and the Gray"</span>. At the very least, my characters are always veterans.<br><br>I have been writing for pleasure for at least 35+ years but only got into forum-based Role Playing about eighteen years ago. When I say echelon, I mean Army, Corps, Division, Brigade/Regiment, Battalion/Squadron, Company/Troop/Battery, Platoon, and Squad/Section.<br><br>When I was a student in High School, I used to play Dungeons & Dragons. Recently, I have been DMing a 5e campaign of my creation for my son and his friends. 5e is so much less cumbersome than earlier editions of D&D. I do have an interest in Tolkien-esque fantasy-styled Role Plays as well. Time travel has always been a fun genre for me, but to do it well, one must have a firm grasp of historical facts.<br><br>There are only a few fanfictions I will participate in; Star Wars and Star Trek are two of them. I want to do an exclusively Klingon RP one of these days. I also avoid Canon characters.<br><br>I have real-world martial arts experience. <br><br>Krav Maga is an Israeli martial art form that employs practical self-defense techniques drawing forms & techniques from Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Taekwando. :(]<br><br>Over two years ago I completed my first novel, a science fiction set in the 24th century. It focuses on a Private Military Corporation solely employed by the earth government. I started a second book in November 2022 and hope to work on that this summer when I have more time.<br><br>Send me a PM for a Role Play or if you would like to see what sort of an army I could build for you.<br><br>--Gunther (AKA: Old School)<div class="hider-panel"><div class="hider-heading"><button type="button" class="btn btn-default btn-xs hider-button" data-name="Gunther">Gunther [+]</button></div><div class="hider-body" style="display: none"><span class="bb-b"><div class="bb-h2">Character Summary</div></span><br><br>Name: Gunther<br>Aliases: <font color="#1b1464"><span class="bb-i">Landain</span></font><br>Age: old (I was around when George Washington was a Lieutenant)<br>Birthday: August 12<br>Ethnicity: French, English, & Seneca (Iroquois Confederation)<br>Location: New England<br>Gender: Male<br>Higher Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science & Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice<br>Occupation: Substitute School Teacher<br>Languages: English, Spanish, German & a little French<br>Years RPing: 18<br>Preferred RP Section: Advanced or Casual <br>RP Level: Advanced<br>Dedication Level: Moderate<br>Biggest RP Pet Peeve: People who do not communicate with the group and drop. He attends Catholic mass with his family regularly and attempts a life free from sin. He can be a very moody person swinging from very warm, friendly, and extroverted to quiet and secluded. He hates winter; January and February make him very depressed. Gunther loves his children and would do anything for them and his wife. <br><br>Gunther is a morning person, but that comes from a life of serving in the military. He would rather go to bed early and get up early; prefers to exercise in the morning over working out just before bed. His chief flaw is saying what pops into his head unrestrained without thinking it over before letting fateful words spill out, full-fledged Gryffindor.<br><br>Habits: Smiling, unprovoked singing, talking with strangers & Coca-Cola<br>Hobbies: Krav Maga, Running, Movies, reading, writing, Military History & Playing games with his children.<br>Most recent hobby: Warhammer Age of Sigmar and 40,000. I enjoy the hobby even though I rarely get time to participate. Currently, I try to limit my stories to one at a time. Unfortunately, I rarely find one I enjoy and others are willing to write in. When I do, they die way too early. <br>Life Before You Came To Role Player Guild: It was very different.
