If you are a fan of Warhammer 40,000 or Age of Sigmar, let me know. Maybe we can put together an RP. I play Ironjawz & Kruleboyz in AOS and Salamanders & Drukhari in 40K.

Bio

I am a veteran of the United States Army and the US Army National Guard. I spent three years on Active Duty serving in the 4th Infantry Division (Mechanized) at Ft. Carson, CO, and the 3rd Armor Division at Kirch Göns, West Germany. I spent 18 years in the Army National Guard with the 26th Infantry Division "Yankee" and 29th Infantry Division (Light), "The Blue and the Gray". I was deployed to Bosnia-Herzegovina with the 29th ID (L) in 2001 - 2002. I have also been reading military history articles and books since I was 10 years old. I do prefer Military Role Plays over all other genres, primarily because I have a vast knowledge of the subject including personal experiences. At the very least, my characters are always veterans.

I have been writing for pleasure for at least 35+ years but only got into forum-based Role Playing about eighteen years ago. I do enjoy Nation Role Plays and get into minute detail when designing my military. The only reason I enjoy excruciating detail in my militaries is because for me, it is fun. My education and experience on this subject afford me the insight to see the depth of the structure. It is not just a General and a large pile of soldiers. If someone wants assistance in designing an army, navy, or air force, please send me a PM. I will help. Please specify what level (echelon) or depth you would like me to go. When I say echelon, I mean Army, Corps, Division, Brigade/Regiment, Battalion/Squadron, Company/Troop/Battery, Platoon, and Squad/Section.

When I was a student in High School, I used to play Dungeons & Dragons. Recently, I have been DMing a 5e campaign of my creation for my son and his friends. 5e is so much less cumbersome than earlier editions of D&D. I do have an interest in Tolkien-esque fantasy-styled Role Plays as well. Time travel has always been a fun genre for me, but to do it well, one must have a firm grasp of historical facts.

There are only a few fanfictions I will participate in; Star Wars and Star Trek are two of them. I want to do an exclusively Klingon RP one of these days. I also avoid Canon characters.

I have real-world martial arts experience. I would love to write an RP about hand-to-hand combat, no fantasy magic chit, just hands elbows, knees, and feet. Maybe the occasional head butt thrown in to mix things up. I trained in Krav Maga for six and a half years. I earned a first-degree black belt in Krav Maga on 3 June 2017.

Krav Maga is an Israeli martial art form that employs practical self-defense techniques drawing forms & techniques from Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Taekwando. It is very brutal, demanding, and aggressive. During the seven years I trained, I have bruised two ribs, sustained several muscle pulls, and various lacerations and bruises over my body. I have received a sprained ankle and a fractured wrist. Before the first black belt test, I received a bone bruise to my right shin; where my roundhouse kicks impact. Yet, I am stupid enough to continue training. [Regardless of the physical pain, it is more fun than any other physical activity I have engaged in. Fortunately, the bone bruise healed up prior to the third and final test. EDIT: I did leave the sport over five years ago. :(]

Over two years ago I completed my first novel, a science fiction set in the 24th century. It focuses on a Private Military Corporation solely employed by the earth government. I started a second book in November 2022 and hope to work on that this summer when I have more time.

Send me a PM for a Role Play or if you would like to see what sort of an army I could build for you.

I was looking at the story line. The members of the MC are all veterans of some military event during the Vietnam War. Is it necessary for all the characters to have served in the same unit? If so, here are a few suggestions:

1/28/68 Tet Offensive (several units to choose from) All of the others are extensions of the Tet Offensive. There are several other engagements than just the two listed below.
1/30/68 - 3/3/68 Battle of Huế (1st Bn, 1st Marines/ 2nd Bn, 5th Marines/ 3rd Marine Tank Battalion)
1/31/68 - 2/3/68 Battle for Quang Tri (1st BDE, 1st US Cav Division & 2nd BDE, 101st Airborne Div)

Pardon me, I am a military history buff. Although, both of these engagements, Hue and Quang Tri are American/ARVN victories, there may have been small isolated pockets of US Army soldiers, US Marines or ARVN soldiers who were vastly outnumbered and suffered a tremendous defeat. We can easily portray one of these smaller isolated units that may not have suffered a tremendous defeat but in some mysterious way outlasted superior numbers to survive with only minor wounds. This is the stuff Medal of Honor citations are written for.

Man, I loved that show... The thing is and I understand Lily has complete apathy, the Seneca (Mingan) is a tribe that came in contact with European settlers a lot earlier than the Comanches or Apaches our characters would come in contact with in the story. Also, the Blackfoot (Iiniwa) living in Canada are living in harmony with the European settlers north of the border. They are accepted, not spurned as much against like the whites in the US. But as I stated, Lily doesn't give a shit.

Great song too! :)

@bluetommy2

If Mingan and Iiniwa stay we stay in the group. If we leave we go off on our own for a bit. Either is fine to me, but Mingan has no investment with the others in the RP yet. At first glance, they get on their horses and leave. What would you like to do?

What about the others? Does it matter if the two native bounty hunters leave?
Does he die in that one too?

I don't remember. I watched that movie about 20 years ago. But seriously, he does die a lot, doesn't he? We always have Sharpe's Eagle.

My favorite line comes right after this scene...

When the South Essex Regiment prove they can fire 3 or 4 rounds per minute, he congratulates them. Captain Sharpe says, "Wonderful boys! I told you to stand and fire three rounds per minute. You have just proven to me you can fire three rounds per minute. Well done!" Then he offers a slight pause and asks, "can you stand?"

After all, standing in the face of an enemy who wants to kill you is the more difficult task, isn't it?

Bravo Two Zero starring Sean Bean is based on a true story during the Gulf War in 1991. If you have never seen this movie, I highly recommend it. The eight man British SAS team at the center of this movie uses only M16A1 rifles with M203 Grenade Launchers and FN Minimi LMGs. I believe the quantity of weapons systems is split evenly; four and four. When you are operating this deep behind enemy lines you want to have as much firepower as you can. Their mission was to cut a fiber optic cable between Baghdad and the SCUD missile launchers in Northwestern Iraq. They completed their mission, but most ended up being taken prisoner by the Iraqis. It is an awesome movie. Please do not shy away from bringing Grenade Launchers and Light Machine Guns.

The tan and white Appaloosa cantored up the low ridge towards Haileysburg. The Seneca native was not in a hurry, taking his time getting back from Tucson. He had the cash for Iiniwa in his coat pocket. He had to deliver the money to his friend of the Blackfoot tribe. The one thing a man had that another could never take away was your integrity. That was something you could easily part with if you behaved poorly. Mingan wasn't about to become dishonest when so m any others had already trodden down that worn out path.

When he reached the top of the ridge, he was just a quarter mile from town. But something was amiss. Mingan distinctly heard a gunshot and then several more followed the first one. Having survived that hellish event known as war about 16 years ago, Mingan was not in a hurry to charge down into another gun fight; especially not knowing who it involved. Maybe his friend Iiniwa was in this fight, maybe he wasn't. Mingan decided he would wait until the engagement quieted down before continuing down the hill towards the town.

From his vantage point, roughly four hundred or more yards away, Mingan could see people running between two buildings and plenty of lead flying back and forth. He couldn't identify anyeone, but it was quite a hot fight. Then he recognized his friend Iiniwa diving out the back door of hte building on the left and he let out a shrill whistle; one he had heard before. Iiniwa was calling for his horse. Knowing the native Canadian too well, Mingan knew he needed assistance.

Mingan spurred Pajackok and gave off a loud, "Whoop! Aye-yi-yi-yi-yip!" Rider and horse rapidly charged forward heading toward the back door where Lauren Cartier waited for his mount. Mingan reigned in the thundering Apaloossa just as horse arrived. The Seneca native known as Joseph Rittenour dismounted his horse and retrieved his revolver as his boots hit the ground. He smiled at Iiniwa and spoke in Algonquin, "How are you my friend? What has happened here?"

Hmm, would it be cheeky to get a response in? I can have Ed with Romek, if you like, as he's got a spotting device, and already operates as a designated marksman.
I wouldn't call it Cheeky. Isn't that what the OOC is for? Great! Wonderful!
Edward Thatcher and Romek Czerepusko form a Scout/Sniper Team! Hua that!

I picked grenadier because it was the only one of an actually military use that I could find. But I agree with Bigpapa, I too can be changed for whatever the missions requires.

My post suggested that there weren't enough, ONL. I believe there should be another SAW/Minimi gunner as well. With 11 people, we could use 2 or 3 Grenade launchers. Same with the Light Machine Gun.

'Sure tell this is joint ops. I'm the only fucking black guy on the team.' Sergeant First Class Morse thought to himself as he stood up. 'In an American team, a third of the group would have been black and there would have been Mexicans, Asians and in today's world, maybe even a token Hadji. I guess this is to be expected on a joint operation. Nevertheless, this is a rare opportunity and I wouldn't pass it up for a second.'

Tyus walked with the rest of team exiting the room with his duffel bag in tow. 'The old man was quite lean on information in that operations brief. No operations order, no terrain analysis, no enemy intel, no information on supporting assets, no scheme of maneuver, no operational information, no organization. Sergeant Morse assumed they would break down into three teams of three or four people with 2-man buddy teams in each sub-unit. 'I guess, we'll all just go John Wayne on someone's ass.' Tyus smiled as he laughed internally.

Once at the armory, he drew his equipment and began preparing his gear. He drew spare batteries for his night vision sights and radios. He had communications for both ground assets and air. His VHF radio was used for Close Air Support (CAS) if any Attack Aircraft were available. While in the Special Operations community, he had training and expeerience as both a Forward Air Controller (FAC) and Air Naval Gunfire Coordinator (ANGLICO). He had the Communications Equipment Operating Instructions (CEOI) which gave him the frequencies and call signs in the event Air or Naval Gunfire were ever an option. Tyus thought to myself, 'looks like I'm serving as the team's Communications NCO.'

He pulled out his equipment and began kitting up. Once His assault vest and Kevlar tactical helmet were on, he jumped up and down to insure there was nothing rattling. He had a roll of black electric tape to tie it down just in case. He holstered his P229 .40 caliber handgun in the tactical holster hung low on his right thigh with a magazine in the well, but no round in the chamber. Once they were in the Area of Operations (AO) then a signal would be given to lock and load. Aboard ship, no one including the Marine guards walk around with rounds chambered. Tyus strapped the MP5/.40 caliber Submachine gun on his left thigh should he need it. His butt pack was filled with ammunition, cleaning supplied and three days of rations broken down. Last, he took his SCAR 17 and slung it like a guitar over his right side and then slid it to the back so it was behind him, pointed at the deck. The rifle and Submachine gun both had magazines in the wells, but unchambered. He then slipped on his work gloves, finger tips cut off to make it easier to get things done. His sunglasses remained stuck in a pocket. He would bring those out when they were in sunlight. He did a few more jumps to check for noise discipline before returning to the briefing room.

Romek was curious to meet the other fellow countryman on the team. On the way out the door, he extended his hand and in Polish he spoke, "Hello, I am Romek. Romek Czerepusko from Białystok. Very nice to meet you, Sierżant." Sergeant Czerepusko smiled at the man. "They call me Scooter. Yes, that is my nickname and call sign." Romek thought the name was silly, but kept it regardless. He didn't think it was that big of a deal.

The team members made it to the armory, where they gathered their equipment and prepared for the operation into Indonesia. As they gathered their equipment Romek asked his team mates aloud, "Hello All! I am Sergeant Romek Czerepusko, but you can all call me Scooter. I want to know. Are there any sniper qualified soldiers here? If so, would you like to serve as my spotter? I will be providing long ranged overwatch fire to cover your backs when needed."

Romek put on his assault vest and his forage cap. He did not have a ballistic helmet or body armor like some of the others wore. He put his 9mm handgun in its holster and strapped the Bor Sniper Rifle on his back along with the Ghillie Suit, and scope which was kept in its travel case. He slung the Mini-Beryl Carbine over his left shoulder so it slung under his right arm. He swiveled it under his arm so it hung off his back until he needed it.

In his Puma back pack he carried additional ammunition, claymore mines and various pyro technics the team might need during the operation. This included colored star clusters, parachute flares, flash bang grenades and fragmentation grenades
