If you are a fan of Warhammer 40,000 or Age of Sigmar, let me know. Maybe we can put together an RP. I play Ironjawz & Kruleboyz in AOS and Salamanders & Drukhari in 40K.

Bio

I am a veteran of the United States Army and the US Army National Guard. I spent three years on Active Duty serving in the 4th Infantry Division (Mechanized) at Ft. Carson, CO, and the 3rd Armor Division at Kirch Göns, West Germany. I spent 18 years in the Army National Guard with the 26th Infantry Division "Yankee" and 29th Infantry Division (Light), "The Blue and the Gray". I was deployed to Bosnia-Herzegovina with the 29th ID (L) in 2001 - 2002. I have also been reading military history articles and books since I was 10 years old. I do prefer Military Role Plays over all other genres, primarily because I have a vast knowledge of the subject including personal experiences. At the very least, my characters are always veterans.

I have been writing for pleasure for at least 35+ years but only got into forum-based Role Playing about eighteen years ago. I do enjoy Nation Role Plays and get into minute detail when designing my military. The only reason I enjoy excruciating detail in my militaries is because for me, it is fun. My education and experience on this subject afford me the insight to see the depth of the structure. It is not just a General and a large pile of soldiers. If someone wants assistance in designing an army, navy, or air force, please send me a PM. I will help. Please specify what level (echelon) or depth you would like me to go. When I say echelon, I mean Army, Corps, Division, Brigade/Regiment, Battalion/Squadron, Company/Troop/Battery, Platoon, and Squad/Section.

When I was a student in High School, I used to play Dungeons & Dragons. Recently, I have been DMing a 5e campaign of my creation for my son and his friends. 5e is so much less cumbersome than earlier editions of D&D. I do have an interest in Tolkien-esque fantasy-styled Role Plays as well. Time travel has always been a fun genre for me, but to do it well, one must have a firm grasp of historical facts.

There are only a few fanfictions I will participate in; Star Wars and Star Trek are two of them. I want to do an exclusively Klingon RP one of these days. I also avoid Canon characters.

I have real-world martial arts experience. I would love to write an RP about hand-to-hand combat, no fantasy magic chit, just hands elbows, knees, and feet. Maybe the occasional head butt thrown in to mix things up. I trained in Krav Maga for six and a half years. I earned a first-degree black belt in Krav Maga on 3 June 2017.

Krav Maga is an Israeli martial art form that employs practical self-defense techniques drawing forms & techniques from Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Taekwando. It is very brutal, demanding, and aggressive. During the seven years I trained, I have bruised two ribs, sustained several muscle pulls, and various lacerations and bruises over my body. I have received a sprained ankle and a fractured wrist. Before the first black belt test, I received a bone bruise to my right shin; where my roundhouse kicks impact. Yet, I am stupid enough to continue training. [Regardless of the physical pain, it is more fun than any other physical activity I have engaged in. Fortunately, the bone bruise healed up prior to the third and final test. EDIT: I did leave the sport over five years ago. :(]

Over two years ago I completed my first novel, a science fiction set in the 24th century. It focuses on a Private Military Corporation solely employed by the earth government. I started a second book in November 2022 and hope to work on that this summer when I have more time.

Send me a PM for a Role Play or if you would like to see what sort of an army I could build for you.

@HexaflexagonI lurked around a bit in the interest check, but I'd like to apply for this. Expect a character sheet at some point soon in the future.

Like my Sad Soviet friend above, I lurked in the Interest check as well. I debated about joining, simply because I don't get a lot of time for this hobby. But I am a huge Star Wars fan and have been since 1977. Yes, my block had dirt roads too.

Working on a character.
Whenever I get into an RP, I am in it until it is no more. I was one of hte last to post and have checked this thread daily, non stop. I've let threads go longer than this before I have given up. I don't care how old it is, post and lets pick up where we left off.
I was afraid to post. I didn't want to be the last one on the list of posters if this went under.

Please lose that attitude ASAP. If everyone posts, it won't go under. :)
Then no one would have to worry about being last.
Interested. I read the book this summer and have some real world experience in this sort of thing.
History is a strong subject for me too. I have been reading articles and books on Military History for 42 years. I quit being a dick a few years ago. ;)

>The title is an Aeneid reference
>Homeric RP
>REEEEEEEEE

In all seriousness, I'm sad I missed this, good luck!

You haven't missed anything. We are just getting started.
The city was in ruins. Fires burned everywhere. The streets were flooded with bronze armored Greek hoplites. The Trojan army had crumbled under the sheer weight of their numbers. Hope for saving the city was lost. Only hope to survive remained. Anyone who could still move was making their way out of what remained of their magnificent city. A few local commanders attempted to stage a defense or to prevent those gripped with panic from escaping the massacre, but it was a fool hearty notion. The City of Troy had fallen to the Greeks.

As the Trojan survivors trickled through whatever portal was available, Kyros made his way outside. He watched his brothers and father perish in the Greek flames. Many of his comrades in arms were dead; very few remained alive. Such a wholesale slaughter had never been seen by him at anytime. It was completely discouraging.

Kyros found a young woman and her son. He took the woman by the hand, assuring her, he would help her to safety. The three ran towards the mountains with the few others who survived the carnage. There was not thought to what they would do next or even if they could rebuild their city. Their thoughts were solely lain upon the desire to survive; escaping the rampaging Grecian soldiers bent on killing everyone who resided in this once beautiful gem of a city on the Eastern Aegean Sea. All hope was lost. Despair remained.
Lieutenant Gavi

Lieutenant Gavi did not feel comfortable about his first encounter with his new supervisor, Commander Robin. She appeared a bit too relaxed for his liking. He took his job serious and expected a certain air of professionalism around him. It put him on edge and did not feel comfortable with her yet. Maybe if he engaged her in an argument she would come around?
Yes, a good argument always seemed to set the proper tone.

Gavi returned to Deck six engineering and stood at his station. He looked over the display and identified the Antideuterium sublimators had been repaired by Chief Petrovich. The ship would be operationally prepared to leave its moorings and begin its first assignment. Ensign Nabiyev arrived in Engineering two minutes after Gavi and stood at his station. The two spoke not one word to one another, reviewing the various systems of the ship and running diagnostic checks to double check everything was functioning properly.

"Ensign Nabiyev," Lieutenant Gavi spoke as though he were clearing his throat. "Is this your first assignment?"

"Yes, Lieutentant, it is," The Trill officer responded. "And you?"

"I was posted to the USS Revere, a Hermes class Scout ship. I was there for three years before being reassigned to the Tricyon."

"See anything interesting aboard the Revere?"

"Yes, frequently," Lieutenant Gavi left his response and resumed his work.
We Brits don't need no holiday, we work on through! That's why our economy's so great

The American Thanksgiving holiday commemorates a time when we were a British Colony.
I had a migraine yesterday and couldn't look at a computer screen let alone type. I will be away from home all day today, but will definitely get something up tomorrow.
