If you are a fan of Warhammer 40,000 or Age of Sigmar, let me know. Maybe we can put together an RP. I play Ironjawz & Kruleboyz in AOS and Salamanders & Drukhari in 40K.

Bio

I am a veteran of the United States Army and the US Army National Guard. I spent three years on Active Duty serving in the 4th Infantry Division (Mechanized) at Ft. Carson, CO, and the 3rd Armor Division at Kirch Göns, West Germany. I spent 18 years in the Army National Guard with the 26th Infantry Division "Yankee" and 29th Infantry Division (Light), "The Blue and the Gray". I was deployed to Bosnia-Herzegovina with the 29th ID (L) in 2001 - 2002. I have also been reading military history articles and books since I was 10 years old. I do prefer Military Role Plays over all other genres, primarily because I have a vast knowledge of the subject including personal experiences. At the very least, my characters are always veterans.

I have been writing for pleasure for at least 35+ years but only got into forum-based Role Playing about eighteen years ago. I do enjoy Nation Role Plays and get into minute detail when designing my military. The only reason I enjoy excruciating detail in my militaries is because for me, it is fun. My education and experience on this subject afford me the insight to see the depth of the structure. It is not just a General and a large pile of soldiers. If someone wants assistance in designing an army, navy, or air force, please send me a PM. I will help. Please specify what level (echelon) or depth you would like me to go. When I say echelon, I mean Army, Corps, Division, Brigade/Regiment, Battalion/Squadron, Company/Troop/Battery, Platoon, and Squad/Section.

When I was a student in High School, I used to play Dungeons & Dragons. Recently, I have been DMing a 5e campaign of my creation for my son and his friends. 5e is so much less cumbersome than earlier editions of D&D. I do have an interest in Tolkien-esque fantasy-styled Role Plays as well. Time travel has always been a fun genre for me, but to do it well, one must have a firm grasp of historical facts.

There are only a few fanfictions I will participate in; Star Wars and Star Trek are two of them. I want to do an exclusively Klingon RP one of these days. I also avoid Canon characters.

I have real-world martial arts experience. I would love to write an RP about hand-to-hand combat, no fantasy magic chit, just hands elbows, knees, and feet. Maybe the occasional head butt thrown in to mix things up. I trained in Krav Maga for six and a half years. I earned a first-degree black belt in Krav Maga on 3 June 2017.

Krav Maga is an Israeli martial art form that employs practical self-defense techniques drawing forms & techniques from Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Taekwando. It is very brutal, demanding, and aggressive. During the seven years I trained, I have bruised two ribs, sustained several muscle pulls, and various lacerations and bruises over my body. I have received a sprained ankle and a fractured wrist. Before the first black belt test, I received a bone bruise to my right shin; where my roundhouse kicks impact. Yet, I am stupid enough to continue training. [Regardless of the physical pain, it is more fun than any other physical activity I have engaged in. Fortunately, the bone bruise healed up prior to the third and final test. EDIT: I did leave the sport over five years ago. :(]

Over two years ago I completed my first novel, a science fiction set in the 24th century. It focuses on a Private Military Corporation solely employed by the earth government. I started a second book in November 2022 and hope to work on that this summer when I have more time.

Send me a PM for a Role Play or if you would like to see what sort of an army I could build for you.

Perfectly fine.
You can write for another character if you like in an M3 Sherman or M18 Hellcat. I've been doing a lot of reading on the 37th TB, 4th AD. They were at the tip of Patton's spear. They saw a lot of shit between Operation Cobra and the end of the war.
I read the recent posts. I will be busy tomorrow, but should have something up Friday. Preston will hit LeBeau with a .30-06 round as soon as Ben draws his Ruger .44.

Good stuff
@CaptainBritton Welcome! I figured you would have taken a tanker with your cavalry experience.

I'll have a new post up Friday; advancing the calendar and getting into a fight.
@AzimuthEmperor Could you please use a realistic character prior to posting? Thanks. Most American GIs in the 1940s were between the ages of 17 and 35. No one would permit a 78 year old regardless of ethnicity into the Army. I was trying to keep it somewhat realistic; at least based on an historical event.
I probably won't get a post up tomorrow; Krav Maga in the morning, children's Karate class and then driving to my mom's in the afternoon. Won't get home until late. I will definitely get something up Friday.
I'm pretty sure South Boston has more than a few guys named Sullivan running around.

I belong to several veterans' pages on FB. I believe it was the "I Survived the 80s Army" page that I noticed a gentleman named John Sullivan commenting on something there. That is such a very common name. Who knows, maybe that is @Haterade's real name? lol
Greetings & Welcome, @Haterade! which branch? USMC or US Army? I spent some time in the US Army.
@Eisenhorn Quy Phan is posted on page 2.
Ben knew the construction yard they were at. He and his brother made purchases there many years ago; driving dad’s old Ford to make the pick up. He visually inspected the grounds and facilities remembering how there used to be stacks of lumber or bags of concrete and various other sundry items. Ben spat tobacco juice on the ground and continued to chew on the tobacco in his mouth. He had been chewing tobacco for about 15 years. It was a natural habit for him. Not a clean one, but then most of Ben Giguere’s life was unclean.

He hadn’t quite warmed up to this flatlander making this deal with the Canadian, but he joined the Green Mountain Boys and therefore felt obligated to cooperate with him. Ben insisted, he allow his brother, Preston to watch over their business dealings from a distant hill top with his Remington .30-’06. Ben told his brother that if things got bad, he could hit the Canadian and any of his associates if Ben happened to draw his sidearm. Preston seemed to be fine with this job. He’d never killed a man, yet, but had had scored several bucks and a few does over his 31 years on the planet. After all, life as they knew it had changed significantly since the Russians showed up. Ben wasn’t very happy about it.

Ben heard the fucking Hayseed comment and thought, ’Joe the fucking rag bag douche flatlander is a fucking dick.’ He smiled at Joe the fucking rag bag douche flatlander while slightly hefting the sack containing the $25,000 in US Currency. He then shot him hand-formed pistol with his right hand while silently mouthing a 'bang'. ’Asshole.’

Ben had never seen so much money in one place. He grew up on a farm and worked for a railroad. These are not employment opportunities flush with cash. It was a way of life he was comfortable with; it was the only way of life he knew. This transition to an insurgent’s was not much different. He fit in pretty well. It was not much different than when he and his brother went hunting.

As the men talked about their business dealings, Ben remained quiet about thirty yards away. He scanned the pine trees and hills in the back ground looking for his brother. He knew where he was, but he could not see him. He was hidden pretty well; may only about three hundred yards away. Ben was prepared to hand the satchel of money over to the Canadian.
I finally read the IC posts and Daniel and Joe's character sheets. "The fucking hayseed has it." I love it! I did draw Ben up as a fucking hayseed. I will start working on a post this afternoon. Not too difficult.

@Byrd Man I like Joe Sullivan. I actually knew a Southie named Joe Sullivan once. He's gotta be in his late 60s by now. Ben is not sure if he likes Joe yet. THe hand gesture was done in play. There was no firearm in his hand when he mouthed a silent, "bang".
