If you are a fan of Warhammer 40,000 or Age of Sigmar, let me know. Maybe we can put together an RP. I play Ironjawz & Kruleboyz in AOS and Salamanders & Drukhari in 40K.

Bio
I am a veteran of the United States Army and the US Army National Guard. I spent three years on Active Duty serving in the 4th Infantry Division (Mechanized) at Ft. Carson, CO, and the 3rd Armor Division at Kirch Göns, West Germany. I spent 18 years in the Army National Guard with the 26th Infantry Division "Yankee" and 29th Infantry Division (Light), "The Blue and the Gray". I was deployed to Bosnia-Herzegovina with the 29th ID (L) in 2001 - 2002. I have also been reading military history articles and books since I was 10 years old. I do prefer Military Role Plays over all other genres, primarily because I have a vast knowledge of the subject including personal experiences. At the very least, my characters are always veterans.
I have been writing for pleasure for at least 35+ years but only got into forum-based Role Playing about eighteen years ago. I do enjoy Nation Role Plays and get into minute detail when designing my military. The only reason I enjoy excruciating detail in my militaries is because for me, it is fun. My education and experience on this subject afford me the insight to see the depth of the structure. It is not just a General and a large pile of soldiers. If someone wants assistance in designing an army, navy, or air force, please send me a PM. I will help. Please specify what level (echelon) or depth you would like me to go. When I say echelon, I mean Army, Corps, Division, Brigade/Regiment, Battalion/Squadron, Company/Troop/Battery, Platoon, and Squad/Section.
When I was a student in High School, I used to play Dungeons & Dragons. Recently, I have been DMing a 5e campaign of my creation for my son and his friends. 5e is so much less cumbersome than earlier editions of D&D. I do have an interest in Tolkien-esque fantasy-styled Role Plays as well. Time travel has always been a fun genre for me, but to do it well, one must have a firm grasp of historical facts.
There are only a few fanfictions I will participate in; Star Wars and Star Trek are two of them. I want to do an exclusively Klingon RP one of these days. I also avoid Canon characters.
I have real-world martial arts experience. I would love to write an RP about hand-to-hand combat, no fantasy magic chit, just hands elbows, knees, and feet. Maybe the occasional head butt thrown in to mix things up. I trained in Krav Maga for six and a half years. I earned a first-degree black belt in Krav Maga on 3 June 2017.
Krav Maga is an Israeli martial art form that employs practical self-defense techniques drawing forms & techniques from Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Taekwando. It is very brutal, demanding, and aggressive. During the seven years I trained, I have bruised two ribs, sustained several muscle pulls, and various lacerations and bruises over my body. I have received a sprained ankle and a fractured wrist. Before the first black belt test, I received a bone bruise to my right shin; where my roundhouse kicks impact. Yet, I am stupid enough to continue training. [Regardless of the physical pain, it is more fun than any other physical activity I have engaged in. Fortunately, the bone bruise healed up prior to the third and final test. EDIT: I did leave the sport over five years ago. :(]
Over two years ago I completed my first novel, a science fiction set in the 24th century. It focuses on a Private Military Corporation solely employed by the earth government. I started a second book in November 2022 and hope to work on that this summer when I have more time.
Send me a PM for a Role Play or if you would like to see what sort of an army I could build for you.

History
What Brings You To Role Player Guild: There is a large community of writers here. I enjoy the hobby even though I rarely get time to participate. Currently, I try to limit my stories to one at a time. Unfortunately, I rarely find one I enjoy and others are willing to write in. When I do, they die way too early. Life Before You Came To Role Player Guild: It was very different. I don’t know how to explain it in just a few words or sentences. Life Since You Came To Role Player Guild: This is just a side hobby. I have many irons in the fire and this is just one of them. It has taken a back seat to my real life activities.

Behaviors we consider heinous crimes today were generally accepted practices many years ago. Anything Else:

Identification/Serial Number: KL-3724
Sex: Male
Age: 20
Homeworld: Haruun Kal
Rank: Trooper (Private)
Role: Support (Light Repeating Blaster Gunner)
CallsignKnockout
Appearance: Kato Okoye stands 72” tall (183cm) and is lean with a muscular frame. His weight is proportionate for a muscle bound lad at just over 90 Kg (200 Lbs). He has dark skin, brown eyes and very short black hair. Kato’s appearance is very important to him. His unblemished skin is well taken care of. He can be a bit eccentric about staying as clean as he can. Kato is the sort to not allow one strand of hair out of place. His starched and polished uniform and body armor are always in perfect condition. His squad sergeant is challenged to find a spec of dirt on his armor and uniform.
Psychological Analysis: Kato is a quiet man who prefers not to speak unless spoken to. He is one hundred percent committed to the Empire, willing to lay down his life for the Empire; or more specifically his brothers in the Battalion. Kato’s superiors would quantify Trooper Okoye as reliable and dependable. When the chips are down, he is there laying down a heavy accurate base of fire or assaulting headlong into an enemy position. He can be very meticulous insuring his equipment is well maintained and clean. He takes pride in his appearance wearing the whitest stormtrooper armor in the Battalion.
When it comes to making decisions, Kato can be either indecisive if he does not care or does not know. He is also very picky or finicky about the things he does like. If things aren’t to his specifications he may complain, mope or mumble about how crappy conditions are. One of the few times he will speak up, is when he has a gripe about a miserable condition the squad is forced to endure. Kato can be boastful especially if he is intoxicated. Liquor will loosen his lips., albeit he is a happy drunk. He knows he is the best soldier in the battalion and might be willing to share this truth with anyone willing to listen. However, Kato will not initiate the conversation. The trooper from Haruun Kal will lie, cheat or steal his way out of a bad situation just to not get in trouble. He can be dishonest if he believes he can get away with the lie. He won’t tell a lie just to tell a lie. If there is no harm in telling the truth, then he will. If it is just a bad situation where he believes he will be punished for his actions, he will try to pass the blame onto someone else or make up a story to spare himself from any blame.
Backstory: Kato Okoye grew up on Haruun Kal the third son of a farming family. The village he grew up in consisted completely of farmers. He and his brothers worked the family farm in the morning and whenever their father demanded they perform duties. When they had time off, they played games running through the fields and forests pretending at whatever desire they wished.
Kato enjoyed an enhanced athleticism the other boys could only dream of. He excelled at sports and even outperformed them at work. He knew he was better and found himself boasting about it with pride. He was confident about everything he did. His father was unsettled by Kato’s arrogance, trying to temper him, but the father simply lacked the energy or time to make significant gains leaving that trait to the Empire to curb.
When he enlisted, Kato was thrilled at the chance to better himself as a soldier and to experience adventure the stormtroopers had to offer. He knew he would excel as a trooper and would one day lead a company of assault troops when the opportunity presented it. He considered himself a natural born leader.
During his indoctrination training (Basic Combat Training), Kato quickly learned that if you volunteered for something or were overly eager about getting into an unknown training event, it could lead to trouble. He learned to remain silent and stay in the rear to watch. When questioned about mishaps. He took the position of, it is better to deny than admit anything. He would not be a scapegoat and would pass the blame off onto the others whenever possible. He did not want to be the one blamed for every mishap. One more thing, it is better to beg forgiveness than to ask permission.
As a soldier, he was always at the top of his class in physical endeavors. He excelled at the Physical Fitness Tests and achieved the highest scores on the obstacle courses. He qualified expert with E11 Blaster Rifle, T-21 light repeating blaster (LRB) and the SE-14r light repeating blaster. Shooting was another activity the naturally competitive Kato Okoye excelled at. Academically, Kato struggled, but he would never talk about those pursuits. They were not as important. In his opinion being able to sustain the fight and engage targets were critical tasks.
During an engagement on some irrelevant planet. Kato had his helmet shot off his head. It knocked him back on the ground; the helmet destroyed, but he was otherwise unharmed. Once he shook off the effects of the blast, he slowly gathered himself and re-engaged targets with his LRB. He held the trigger down for five to nine round bursts as he typically did. The other LRB gunner in the squad was set up about 50 to 60 meters to his left. They would alternate bursts at their objective keeping it suppressed. It was as though the two Light Repeating Blasters were talking to one another.
Although Kato is aware of the dangers of his occupation, he is not worried. He believes the Empire has trained him and brothers extremely well. The soldiers of the 121st Assault Battalion are an elite organization ready to take on all opposition throughout the known galaxy.
“Imperius Unitada ober Totallex” "Empire united over all"
Kato's perceptions of the other characters:
Captain Loretta Raidne (KT-124): Captain Raidne is someone Trooper Okoye both fears and respects. She does not appear to be a loving woman like his mother back on Haruun Kal, but a scheming and conniving back stabber that one must keep their eye on. Her position aboard ship places her several echelons above Trooper Okoye and contact would be minimal or non-existent at all. Fortunately, Kato is a disciplined soldier and will do what she says, wishing only to be as far away from her as possible. She appears to him as someone who may just get the rest of us killed.
Sergeant Kavis Vytuia (KV-4217): “Swoop” [1.9 meters = 75” or 6’ 3”] Kato viewed Sergeant Vytuis with admiring respect. He would try hard to do whatever the man asked of him. Besides, he was so huge, he would probably crush him if he tried. Trooper Okoye doesn’t know much about the Sergeant, but knows not to cross him. He appears to be confident and knowledgeable with small unit operations and motivating his young troopers.
Corporal Aysié Tapalo (AL-93): “Theed” [1.73 meters = 68” or 5’8”] Kato views Theed as one of his better friends. He will accompany her on her gambling expeditions and has had to pull her out of a few scrapes. He would lay his life down for her majesty if necessary. It is a running joke with Kato to refer to Aysei Tapalo as Her majesty as though she were the actual Queen of Naboo.
Trooper Callus Orson (SN-7739): “Fixer” [1.88 meters = 74” or 6’ 2”] at only 170 Lbs, Trooper Orson is quite slender. With his muscular framework, he is more scrawny than brawny. His bubbly and evervescent personality does make for a brighter working environment and the young dark skinned kid from Haruun Kal does consider him a friend. He knows Callus likes to fix things and willingly calls him Fixer or Doctor Fix it from time to time.
Trooper Bradlev Trawin (TK-2323): “Rainstorm” [1.83 meters = 72” or 6’] Bradlev is his brothers as the two Light Repeating Blaster (LRB) gunners in First Squad. Kato has a friendly competition with Trooper Trawin over who is a better shot with the T-21. Often times Kato refers to him as “Rainman” or “Rainy” rather than Rainstorm or Storm. They have been in some sticky situations together and he trusts the Rainman will have his back. They have worked on their fire rates. Typically, the two LRB gunners are positioned at opposite ends of their ten-man squad. The two gunners will alternate so that when Rainstorm is firing, Knockout is not. When Kato is firing Bradlev is not. They fire five to nine round busts, stop, the other fires and stops, and then the first shooter resumes firing. It helps to conserve ammunition energy and maintains a high rate of firepower on enemy positions. This was a technique taught to them by their squad leader, Sergeant Vytuia.
Trooper Malik Skaya (KY-9914): “Patches” [1.83 meters = 72” or 6’] Kato is impressed by his size, even though both are of the same height. He does not know the Aquellan warrior as well as the other members of the squad, but is willing to accept him. The two just have not yet spoken as he only recently arrived aboard The Tempest and the men of B Co. 121st Assault Battalion.
Trooper Tyroch Trank (MV-1247): “Indigo” Kato is wary of Tyroch only because of his past. The Mandalorian is physically fit like everyone else in the squad, but has a history of spice use which does not sit well with the darkest member of First Squad, First Platoon B Company.
Trooper Corros Meeran (LR-3080): “Tremor” [1.78 meters = 70” or 5’ 10”] Corros is the youngest member of First Squad at age 19. Tremor has become a friend to Kato. The squad is a tight knit team of professionals. Kato’s only complaint about Tremor is his lack of maintenance to his body armor. He has attempted to show the young man from Lothal how to clean his armor, but it has been wasted words.
Clan and Hold (if any):Clan Holzheim is an old mining clan at the World’s Edge Mountains at Peak Pass or Karak Kadrin. As a member of Clan Holzheim, Darin “Barbossa” Torblad is also a member of the mining guild having joined at his home in Karak Kadrin.
Gender: Male
Age: 96
Career/Profession (if any) and Skills:Clan Holzheim worships Grungni, God of Mining and Stoneworks, mining the World’s Edge Mountains at Karak Kadrin. Many members of Clan Holzheim, including the Torblads have crossed the line from Grungni to Grimnir, God of War, making the Slayers’ Pilgrimage. Like his ancesters, Darin is a Miner. He knows pounding rocks with pick and shoveling dirt and stones into a cart. His sinews are hardened from years of working in the mines. Darin has also participated in battles and skirmishes with Goblins, Orcs, Elves and Trolls gaining experience in battle.
Equipment (Includes weapons, armor and so on) Darin carries a two and a half foot battle axe as his primary weapon, but is also proficient in the use of a pick axe as a weapon. He has some training in the use of bow and arrow but does not carry one. He also carries a hand axe and dagger on his belt. Darin carries a leather back pack, three weeks rations, candles, flint and tinder, 3 flasks of oil, small leather pouch containing coins, 100' of rope and religious symbols for both Grungni and Grimnir. Inside the small leather pouch are five gold, thirteen silver and eight copper coins.
Physical Description: Darin is 96 years old, standing 4' 2" tall and weighing 210 Lbs. He has red hair and beard with black eyes. His red beard (Barbarossa) is often decorated with braids. "Barbarosa" as he is known by those in the Mining Guild of Karak Kadrin wears banded, (leather/iron) armor: chest, grieves, shin guards, boots, mantle, forearm guards, gauntlets, and battle helm with horns. When not wearing his armor, Darin also has a cloak, under tunic, wool trousers, low leather boots, Leather belt, and over tunic
Background/History: Darin was born and raised in Karak Kadrin, also known as the Slayer’s Keep. This Dwarven stronghold guards a region of mountainous passes known simply as Peak Pass. It is an important trading route running through the World’s Edge Mountains from the distant east to the Old world. It is in close proximity to the Human world and thereby contains a Human Quarter with larger architecture than the rest of the city.
Due to its location, Karak Kadrin is both a waypoint along a wealthy trading route and a popular spot for invasions passing in either direction. Because of this fact, it has attracted the attention of a group of warriors known as the Dwarven Slayers. Karak Kadrin has been the Slayers’ home for centuries and their influence is present throughout the city, which is often known as “Slayer Keep.” A large temple has been erected at the Peak Pass strong hold to worship Grimnir, the Dwarf Ancester God of fearlessness and fighting spirit or simply, God of War. Everyone hailing from the city is imbued with similar quantities of fearlessness and a fighting spirit.
The Fighting spirit was not lost on Darin Torblad. His family lived in the mining district and worked the mines for centuries. His great great grandfather, Thurrik Torblad was elevated to the position of Mining Elder and sits on the council of elders in Karak Kadrin. Darin’s line of ancestors from Thurrik to himself are still alive, all of whom reside at Karak Kadrin. His great grandfather, Fodrunn repairs mining tools and weapons at the primary mining forge. His grandfather, Londrec mines along with his father, Doldrun. Darin has four brothers; Yorrick, Garber, Thamarack and Bjordrin. Darin has fifteen first cousins, thirty-five second cousins and fifty-eight third cousins who all work the mines at Karak Kadrin. The Slayer Keep is home to Darin’s family. Not all use the surname Torblad. Some go by their clan name Holzheim and a several offshoots of the clan go by Bissingen, Türsheim and Torwirth.
Darin Torblad acquired the nickname Barbarossa later in his youth as he grew his flaming red beard. The humans of a nearby community had given him the moniker and it stuck. In one of the human tongues, the name means, "Red Beard". Darin is usually even tempered but tends to get the dander up when someone other than a dwarf makes derogatory comments about the Dwarves of Peak Pass. He is quick to ire and ready to fight if the wrong person says the wrong thing. If the comments continue, Barbarossa's face turns red. He will make every effort to contain his anger. If it continues, he will as politely as he can tell the offending person, to kindly shut the hell up. If the person does not heed his warning, he will jump into a fight and expect any dwarf within earshot to join him.
Throughout Darin’s life as a Dwarf of the Peak Pass, he has found himself in hostile struggles alongside a few Slayers as well as simple miners like himself. Most of these struggles he was armed with either his battle axe, which he has taken to calling, Aderlatning an old Dwarven word for “Bloodletting”. He has fought against Goblins, Orcs, Elves and Trolls during these random encounters in the hinterlands.
When Darin was 65 years old, he and twenty-four other dwarves encountered a group of three Mountain Trolls. The young Dwarf was terrified of the Trolls primarily because of their size but was able to get in a few hits before the beasts fell. Seventeen of his brothers survived the encounter, losing eight to the Trolls. Three of his cousins died and one lost his left arm in the fight.
Darin has come to a point in his life, where he has considered making the pilgrimage for the Slayer’s of Karak Kadrin. He does not know if he truly wants to commit himself completely to Grimnir. This question he must resolve in his mind. He has left the stronghold to join a party of adventurers in order to determine if this is the path he wishes to follow. He will fight for a group of friends in search of finding the answer to his dilemma. This is his personal quest.

As of today, it has been two weeks sense I moved put if my parents place.
I find roses, blue eyes, blonde hair, and Ferraris to be overrated, among a ton of other things.
It has never been about the appearance. Well, maybe if you are a teen or 20-something it is. But even then. I've dated blue eyes and blonde hair and found the personalities to be quite lacking. I've also dated dark hair and brown eyes and found personalities lacking.
We are slowly approaching November. I grow a beard every November and then shave it off the beginning of December. My wife hates facial hair and she tolerates it for one month of the year.

Personality: Gunther is conservative but flexible and objective. He attends Catholic mass with his family regularly and attempts a life free from sin. Gunther loves his children and would do anything for them and his wife.
Gunther is a morning person, but that comes from a life of serving in the military. He would rather go to bed early and get up early; prefers to exercise in the morning over working out just before bed. His chief flaw is saying what pops into his head unrestrained without thinking it over before letting fateful words spill out, full-fledged Gryffindor.

Quotes or Sayings: “Those who fail to learn the lessons of the past are doomed to repeat them.” – Winston Churchill paraphrasing George Santayana. “If you’re going to fight, fight like the third monkey on the ramp to Noah’s ark and brother…It’s starting to rain.”
Theme Song: Warrior’s Call
Advice To The World: Forgive the actions of those who came before us. Behaviors we consider heinous crimes today were generally accepted practices many years ago.

<div style="white-space:pre-wrap;">I am a veteran of the United States Army and the US Army National Guard. I spent three years on Active Duty serving in the 4th Infantry Division (Mechanized) at Ft. Carson, CO, and the 3rd Armor Division at Kirch Göns, West Germany. I spent 18 years in the Army National Guard with the 26th Infantry Division <span class="bb-i">"Yankee"</span> and 29th Infantry Division (Light), <span class="bb-i">"The Blue and the Gray"</span>. At the very least, my characters are always veterans.<br><br>I have been writing for pleasure for at least 35+ years but only got into forum-based Role Playing about eighteen years ago. When I say echelon, I mean Army, Corps, Division, Brigade/Regiment, Battalion/Squadron, Company/Troop/Battery, Platoon, and Squad/Section.<br><br>When I was a student in High School, I used to play Dungeons & Dragons. Recently, I have been DMing a 5e campaign of my creation for my son and his friends. 5e is so much less cumbersome than earlier editions of D&D. I do have an interest in Tolkien-esque fantasy-styled Role Plays as well. Time travel has always been a fun genre for me, but to do it well, one must have a firm grasp of historical facts.<br><br>There are only a few fanfictions I will participate in; Star Wars and Star Trek are two of them.
