If you are a fan of Warhammer 40,000 or Age of Sigmar, let me know. Maybe we can put together an RP. I play Ironjawz & Kruleboyz in AOS and Salamanders & Drukhari in 40K.

Bio

I am a veteran of the United States Army and the US Army National Guard. I spent three years on Active Duty serving in the 4th Infantry Division (Mechanized) at Ft. Carson, CO, and the 3rd Armor Division at Kirch Göns, West Germany. I spent 18 years in the Army National Guard with the 26th Infantry Division "Yankee" and 29th Infantry Division (Light), "The Blue and the Gray". I was deployed to Bosnia-Herzegovina with the 29th ID (L) in 2001 - 2002. I have also been reading military history articles and books since I was 10 years old. I do prefer Military Role Plays over all other genres, primarily because I have a vast knowledge of the subject including personal experiences. At the very least, my characters are always veterans.

I have been writing for pleasure for at least 35+ years but only got into forum-based Role Playing about eighteen years ago. I do enjoy Nation Role Plays and get into minute detail when designing my military. The only reason I enjoy excruciating detail in my militaries is because for me, it is fun. My education and experience on this subject afford me the insight to see the depth of the structure. It is not just a General and a large pile of soldiers. If someone wants assistance in designing an army, navy, or air force, please send me a PM. I will help. Please specify what level (echelon) or depth you would like me to go. When I say echelon, I mean Army, Corps, Division, Brigade/Regiment, Battalion/Squadron, Company/Troop/Battery, Platoon, and Squad/Section.

When I was a student in High School, I used to play Dungeons & Dragons. Recently, I have been DMing a 5e campaign of my creation for my son and his friends. 5e is so much less cumbersome than earlier editions of D&D. I do have an interest in Tolkien-esque fantasy-styled Role Plays as well. Time travel has always been a fun genre for me, but to do it well, one must have a firm grasp of historical facts.

There are only a few fanfictions I will participate in; Star Wars and Star Trek are two of them. I want to do an exclusively Klingon RP one of these days. I also avoid Canon characters.

I have real-world martial arts experience. I would love to write an RP about hand-to-hand combat, no fantasy magic chit, just hands elbows, knees, and feet. Maybe the occasional head butt thrown in to mix things up. I trained in Krav Maga for six and a half years. I earned a first-degree black belt in Krav Maga on 3 June 2017.

Krav Maga is an Israeli martial art form that employs practical self-defense techniques drawing forms & techniques from Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Taekwando. It is very brutal, demanding, and aggressive. During the seven years I trained, I have bruised two ribs, sustained several muscle pulls, and various lacerations and bruises over my body. I have received a sprained ankle and a fractured wrist. Before the first black belt test, I received a bone bruise to my right shin; where my roundhouse kicks impact. Yet, I am stupid enough to continue training. [Regardless of the physical pain, it is more fun than any other physical activity I have engaged in. Fortunately, the bone bruise healed up prior to the third and final test. EDIT: I did leave the sport over five years ago. :(]

Over two years ago I completed my first novel, a science fiction set in the 24th century. It focuses on a Private Military Corporation solely employed by the earth government. I started a second book in November 2022 and hope to work on that this summer when I have more time.

Send me a PM for a Role Play or if you would like to see what sort of an army I could build for you.

I've only ever had one character that wasn't Caucasian.

Not because I'm racist, but because I'd like to be able to represent the ethnicity that I'm writing for without coming across stereotypical or racists, ya know? I'm just scared that I'll do something disrespectful and portray the character in a totally wrong way. If that makes sense.

I portray various races in my writing. I have no fear like the one you mention. I simply portray the character as a normal human being because that is exactly what any person is regardless of their race. Even in the book I am writing I have a team of twelve people who are the following races: four Caucasian males, three African men, two Caucasian females, two Asians and one Mexican. I have written out personality sheets on all twelve, whom I identify with 12 different people I know. I attempt to write their personalities based on the real life people I have assigned to these characters.
I am on the verge of starting a new career, late in life. I have worked many different jobs in my life, from being a soldier, to a Police Officer, to railroading, financial services and warehouse work. I plan to take the licensure exam in my state to be a middle school math teacher in May. If all goes well, next fall I will be a 55 year old brand new Math teacher somewhere in Massachusetts. I plan to work at this until I am 70...and then retire.

The numbers to me, are just numbers. I still feel as vigorous as I did when I was 27. I train in martial arts two or three days a week and engage in some seriously intense cardio workouts involving punching and kicking things twice a week as well as running.
I am like a cat in that I prefer heat. Have you ever seen farm cats sleeping under and behind the wood stove in an old farmhouse? That would be me. My wife prefers it cold. She would open the window in the bedroom in the winter. All that does is cause me to shiver uncontrollable.
Maybe I should edit my post to reflect the portability of the .50 cal on a drone using hover capabilities.
The M2 .50 Caliber Machine Gun, Heavy Barrel is frickin' heavy.
The gun weighs 84 Lbs. It is so much easier to separate the barrel from the receiver and the tripod. The gun should be carried in three separate pieces plus the ammunition.

Receiver: 60 Lbs.
Barrel: 24 Lbs.
Tripod: 44 Lbs.
Can of Ammo (100 rounds): 35 Lbs.
Brian Park felt they were in a bad place. As a special operations soldier, he was always in a bad place, but this was alien; on so many levels. He felt something was going to go wrong quickly. The squad had dispatched many of the drones and felt if they had to leave, they had properly completed their mission. But he didn’t have to leave. They set up an alternate position roughly thee hundred yards to the west. They might have to fight their way through the streets, and they had some heavy weapons to carry, but the squad could displace if necessary using the Grathik anti-gravity technology.

As the sound of gunfire intensified behind them, he was still focused on what was in front of them. He went from man to man whispering, “be prepared to move to our alternate position.”

After telling Robson and Simmons about the be prepared order a loud sound that could best be described as a sonic boom struck their eardrums from the front. It was not alone, several additional sonic booms resonated through the concrete canyon of the Grathik base. There was no sound of projectiles being launched from what could be described as an electro-magnetic coil-based weapon system.

As Brian raised his binoculars to scan the area to his front, large heavy projectiles ripped through the buildings around them. The projectiles may have been smaller, impacting with intense kinetic energy. It was sufficient to rip walls off buildings. There were no explosions. It was like throwing a rock at a glass bottle, but a hundred times larger. One round struck low on the building they were standing on. It tore into the right front wall around the sixth floor and ripped the right side of the structure apart depositing debris into the street below.

“That’s it guys! We are out of here! Displace to the alternate position now! Break down that pig. Load up your Donkeys!” As their observation platform was being dismantled, the human soldiers had a similar version of the anti-gravity tech that allowed them to descend to ground level safely. Some described it to a parachute drop with or without the Parachute Landing Fall (PLF).

The movement to the alternate position was without event, but every man in the squad could feel the adrenaline coursing through their veins. They knew they escaped what could have been a very terrible situation. Within a half hour, the new Observation Post (OP) was set up. Brian Park contacted his higher headquarters which was closing in on his location after fighting through the Salvesh ambush sites.

“BUTTERFIELD, this is RIDDLER, over,” Brian spoke into the radio.

Lieutenant Jacob Butterfield was in an armored personnel carrier moving very close to his position when he heard the call. “RIDDLER, this is BUTTERFIELD, go ahead over,” he spoke with his thick Mississippi accent.

“BUTTERFIELD, this is RIDDLER, we have displaced to position Alpha Oscar Two, over.”

Lieutenant Butterfield checked his map and realized the squad was right in front of the lead elements of the company team. “RIDDLER, this is BUTTERFIELD, we will be at your location in ten mikes. Be prepared to mount your Alpha Papa Charlie. Join the company. You can push forward with the rest of the unit.

“Roger that, Riddler out.” Brian Park clicked off the radio and addressed the squad over squad comms, “I just spoke to the Lieutenant. I know we just got here, but the LT will be here in ten minutes. We are loading onto our APC and joining the company for the advance.”

@HeySeuss
Also, random fact: As an English major, I don't recall ever using the word "Shat" in a sentence, whether written or verbal.

Isn't the past tense of shit, shit? Correct me if I am wrong. Where did the word shat come from other than his definition: "An action performed by American actor William Shatner."

@Gunther's got this.

Thanks and plate has five (5) letters.

During my black belt test (2017), I did 100 push ups after running a mile and after two and a half hours of intense curriculum in self defense. We had to do 50 push ups non stop and then we could break up the remaining 50 however you like. I did four sets of ten and two sets of five with breaks between each set. I'll test for 2nd degree black belt later this year.
I have way too much stuff on my plate.
I got used to waking up early due to time spent in the military. I enjoy it now, because I get those peaceful hours in the morning while my family remains asleep. I get some of my best gaming done then. My current guilty pleasure is Assassin's Creed: Odyssey.
