Appearance ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ Arcturus derives from the moon elves; he sports violet-toned skin with silver-white locks. His eyes reflect the colors blue, violet, and purple. Upon the slivery-white locks and near his elongated ears are a set of dark horn-like-antlers that curve back. Standing around 6'2" and weighing around; 185 pounds, Arcturus is not lean in physique or extremely bulked with muscle. His athletic figure is from the diet of wild game and foraged foods (mushrooms, berries, etcetera). He has specie-based markings on his body, particularly around his face, which absorb moonlight. Unless magical abilities are present: he and his people can regulate when they light up. The longer he basks in the moonlight, the longer he can use this trait. Rumors about moon elves are that they are a sub-species of drow elves. This causes a lot of tension between moon elves and other species like humans. One can see the multiple scars inflicted on Arcturus from fear or outright speciesism. Arcturus has not been in many battles, but he has fought for and beside his people. A practice that the moon elves partake in translates to "Fallen Souls" and this practice is after conflict. There are five circular burns on the back of Arcturus's trapezius. These burns are memories of who he has caused to fall in conflict or battle. Personality ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ Growing up in a close-knit society with unknown tensions with the outside world perplexed a young Arcturus. He was naturally caring and helpful to everyone and everything he met. Only through experience did he see how others may be afraid of his appearance and who he was; he began to dread some people, but he never allowed that fear to turn into hatred for an entire species. When Arcturus brought home wounded creatures to care for before releasing them out into the wilds, his parents were unsurprised. He was sympathetic. Arcturus was a sensitive child, and his father encouraged him to participate in the ceremonies of their people. Although he was first traumatized by the experience, he learned to govern how and who he should be at different times. He struggled at first with the trials but developed into a confident and superior warrior. Arcturus is known to be an observer due to his experiences and who he has always been. If others will let him, he is someone who strives to understand them. He may have inherited this trait from his mother, who was patient and attentive. He began to exhibit these certain characteristics later in his youth. Arcturus usually has a peaceful temperament and is stoic, but when he is not, he is lively. He is confident in himself; he allows himself to be goofy. Making a fool out of himself to see another smile, knowing how to playfully act with an exaggerated style of sarcasm. This tends to make him excellent with children. He is someone who will listen. Arcana ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ Major: The Lover When it comes to his arcane power, he is nothing to his other half. He has not experienced what he and his equal are capable of doing together. He is ineffective without his other half. The only abilities he can do without the other are light tricks. Displaying orbs of light or strings, he has been able to control this part of his ability for a while. Going through the trials of the moon elves, he learned how to double-wield shortswords and a bow. They tend to not go to war, but he has experienced small but bloody quarrels in his lifetime. Having to defend himself with force and violence. Arcturus knows how to defend himself from danger.
The moon elf techniques are known to launch swift and powerful attacks. Their trained to a precise standard of knowing what shot will kill versus a shot that will maintain someone.
Culture: ••••••••••
His childhood was mainly secluded except for the occasion of travelers or adventuring by the local towns. He has experienced other cultures in this way and understands that everyone is different. From a young age, Arcturus experienced speciesism from others, but he understood that others might fear him for he is different or demon-like in appearance.
His own culture is focused on the moon, knowing the phases, and living within the darkness of night. He comes from a people who are night owls and do almost everything under the moonlight.
Commerce: ••••••••••
Most might assume his actions to be foolish or him to be unintelligent, but Arcturus is not one to value money. Having little regard for currency or material goods, he knows he can supply himself with what he needs. Hunting, foraging, and overall survival skills were prominent in his clan. His parents have taught him how to live off the land and to be a survivalist.
This causes him to only sell or trade things for what he needs at the time. A trait that is a possible flaw with financials.
Magic: ••••••••••
Moon elves have magic within them; the reason they can absorb the moonlight and use it at will to light up their way. There are different levels of magic throughout his species and clan. Most who show magical properties are sub-classed into healing or fortune telling. He showed magical properties at a young age, so he was trained in the ways of the healers. The elders guided him into herbalism and focused on what was within. The only thing he can do besides non-magic herbalism and healing is to quicken the overall healing process.
Survival: ••••••••••
This is his most fluent status, survivalist. He was raised in a community that focuses on self-sufficiency and only using what you need. One can find anything they need from the wilds; that is the law of the land. From hunting to the gathering, he knows how to use every part of an animal or what the most poisonous mushrooms are. He knows how to make arrows, spears, a bow, or a hut from scratch

Most of the time, keeping to himself, he might not have much karma coming his way. He is someone who will listen to or comfort a stranger. He is someone who will give what he can to a person in need, but he will not fault himself to help another. Arcturus does not go out of his way to search for people in need, though he does stop if he comes across someone who needs help.

Culture ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ The Life The Ivory Court is a small subspecies of Fae that, unlike many of their kin, embody a notion other than trickery, mischief, and deception. Indeed, they have more in common with tales and stories speaking of creatures such as angels and the divine. These creatures are warriors from birth, a noble and proud race valuing discipline, courage, and determination. Though the Court is a sight to behold, one of beauty and splendor, a short stay within the realm of these Fae would reveal that material possessions are not something they seemingly value. Indeed, the Court is minimalistic, and though beauty extends across their home, one would be hard pressed to find an Ivory Fae in the possession of material riches. Rather, the Court values its beliefs and ideals far more than anything found upon the material plane. The Court measures one's value by their actions, rather than wealth, and shuns complacency. The Court adores and values art, not as material trinkets, but as an expression of the self. Ethereal singing, abstract paintings, mystical dancing, all a cultural phenomenon flowing from one generation to the next. Due to their agelessness, the Fae rarely reproduce, except for once every few hundred years. Lumen is among the latest brood, all of whom have now embarked on their own pilgrimage across the world. Arcana ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ The Soul The Arcana of the Sun and the Ivory Fae are one and the same. The pair are entwined, and this peculiar entity is embodies the radiant glow associated with their Arcana. It is an energy that flows through them and clearly displays itself in the shape of their glowing, white blood. A light in the dark, the Ivory Court is a commune of shining stars lighting up the night in both appearance and deed. Their Arcana grows in strength alongside the individual Fae, and extends its reach with every development. The first stages of this Arcana blankets the Fae in a regenerative nature. Upon reaching the age of maturity, it renders them ageless, and beyond that, the Ivory Fae’s Sun Arcana extends itself into more active use. Elders are known to not only possess neigh invincible frames, but the ability to enshroud others in a brilliant light of restoration, washing away any manner of wound, scar, ailment, and even death. However, for an Ivory Fae to reach this level, a thousand years of experience and growth is expected. Biology ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ The Body Whether considered beautiful or disturbing, the Ivory Fae have a distinct appearance immediately confessing to their nature. With bodies slender and slim, skin white as porcelain, and eyes akin to two large, obsidian orbs, the peculiar creature displays a graceful portrait. It is clear that their strength and prowess by far surpasses their spindly, scrawny frames, their motions a supernatural display of might and dexterity. The Ivory Fae do not reach a height further than five feet, and one would be forgiven for mistaking each and every Ivory Fae for the next. Lacking sexual dimorphism, it is nearly impossible to see the difference between genders, and these entities share incredible similarities between one another. Nearly weightless in their graceful movements, it is not entirely divorced from reality, as the Fae's supernatural biology affords them wind-like motions, alongside impressive strength. Appearing androgynous, it is difficult for an outsider to deduce whether they are speaking to a male or female of the species, the only difference evident between the two finding itself on an intimate level. Monochrome throughout their nature, the Ivory Fae display a color scheme of black and white, complete with a row of shark-like teeth hiding beyond their lips. The year is 2021, the downfall of humanity is at our doorstep and scientists around the world clamor every day attempting to undo the destruction we ourselves have wreaked upon our own home. While hardships like poverty and world hunger are still very apparent, the forces of the world instead press their resources into more devastating matters like rising sea levels and ever increasing temperatures every year. Many small island countries have had to completely evacuate their populations and migrate to the larger landmasses causing already bursting areas to deal with overpopulation leading to rising crime-rates on a global scale. Soon many smaller governments began to break down and be consumed by larger countries, others were destroyed from within altogether.

It had literally become H E L L on Earth.

In our darkest moment, the powers of the world began to shift into places it had not for centuries. The Catholic Church reached out its hand to the impoverished and weak, offering them salvation from the world in exchange for their faith. It had become known as The Second Great Awakening and the drastic increase of religious sects around the world skyrocketed within a matter of months. It wasn't long until the church had completely consumed Italy, and their influence spread throughout the Europe completely overtaking many of it's smaller countries and territories sparing only France, Spain, and the United Kingdom. The religious superpower of the Catholic Church would soon grow enough presence and capital to place their fingers in the decision making of the crumbling world, and it was the Pope himself that pressed forward a single idea. And that idea is the true beginning of our story.

1: The Numbers

Subjects 1 through 12 have all demonstrated positive results. Introducing them to one another was a brilliant idea by the handlers, now they collectively refer to themselves as family. That is hardly the case, each subject was extracted from somewhere different around the world. But on the other hand they are experiencing this trauma as a group, and nothing brings people together like shared trauma. Phase 2 will begin exactly a month from today, we are expecting a mortality rate of 50 to 60%. Hopefully those that are lost during the procedures are the more unruly. Subject 11 in particular would not be missed by myself nor many of my fellow researchers. Updates will continue monthly as instructed by the upper brass, do not expect as much elaboration in those reports however. I dislike writing about these fucking creatures honestly, so I welcome the need for briefness in our letters to the church.

Phase 2 went off without a hitch, we lost fewer of the subjects than calculated. Subject 1 seems to be completely psychologically broken due to the loss of Subject 4. Lead Researcher Takizawa believes we should prevent further communication between the subjects to halt the degradation process. We will attempt to rehabilitate Subject 1 for the next few weeks and if this is seen to be wasted effort then they will be recycled for a future subject. Subject 4's corpse will be harvested for test materials, perhaps being purposed for Subject 13 or 14. Phase 3 will once again occur next month and it'll unfortunately be harmless to the subjects, though I pray for higher mortality rates in the future. These little monsters are slowly becoming less and less human as more testing is done to them.

Phase 3 was a failure on a development standpoint, but on the other hand Subject 1 has made a swift recovery because of it. The Promised Children Project will be deemed a success if Phase 4 ends without any human casualties. If it ends up being a success, we will go public with the projects results and present them to the world. But like I said in a prior entry, these things are no longer human anymore. The subjects don’t even refer to eachother as humans any longer, instead referring to themselves as “Numbers”. Whatever keeps the little shits quiet and easy to handle. One of our blood work girls keeps calling Subject 7 a little angel. She's an idiot, these things are genetic anomalies and the fact that they're alive is insane as is. Subnote: That same blood work girl is constantly stared at by Subjects 1, 2, and 3, those are the oldest and thus they are most likely feeling some form of attraction to the nurse.

2: A Dying World

T H E U N I T E D S T A T E S & A F F I L I A T E D
The U.S has gone through their own difficulties over these years. While their campaigns in other countries have ceased they still deal with internal battles against those who oppose the establishment. Financially they are on a downward trend due to the infighting, and the growing power of the Catholic Church continuously seems to sap away the support of the people as they do in other countries. However, the U.S have surprisingly been making a more positive impact on the world as of lately due to recent changes in leadership and a sweep of political corruption. Most notably their current president has been taking steps into assisting destabilized countries with food and other vital resources and offering funds as tight as they may be, to allied nations with similar agendas to their own. The new president is quite secretive, refusing to make public appearances or even fully disclose information about himself other than his name "Mathias E. Biersworth" which has in turn caused lots of conspiracy theories to surface within his own country about himself. Another notable bit of information is the creation of the "51st" an artificial island planted in the center of the Gulf of Mexico, this new state hosts a number of testing grounds for the country's geoengineering projects along with other secret facilities hidden within.

C H I N A , J A P A N & A F F I L I A T E D
With the ever increasing ocean levels large populations from countries like Taiwan, and The Philippines were forced to migrate to unaffected countries nearby. Japan's landmass had already shrunk quite a bit and at a certain point immigrants began to be turned away due to overpopulation. While their current Prime Minister is a very good man and has placed numerous resources into assisting in the well-being of the Japanese people, the amount of people was impossible to house and feed. This forced many to instead turn to places like Korea and China which at the time had been going through political struggles at the time being. China's resources were rich but the country wished to seize the opportunity of utilizing immigrants for cheap labor and forced military service, while on the other hand Korea offered those whom traveled to their country the opportunity to live there in peace under the condition that they cut contact with any outsiders and selected a desperately needed occupation. The largest influx of course made their way to Korea, though they are reaching their maximum capacity soon as well.

E U R O P E , R U S S I A & T H E C A T H O L I C C H U R C H
Europe and the Russian Territories are a different beast compared to the rest of the world. As the church's fingers reached their way to mainland Asia, the only thing that stood in their way was the militaristic monolith of Russia. While the Orthodox presence is still rightly strong within the country's borders, the true reason for their opposition to their rise in power is due to their own wish for conquest themselves. And in this Russia has found a military opponent in which many support, while other countries clamor to research ways to save the world and slow the apocalypse Russia instead dumps every man and resource into advanced weaponry. On the other hand you have the Church themselves who control more than half of the European countries and the military forces they own. The Pope's headquarters of course stands reinforced and ever populated in Italy, which although is greatly smaller than before, boasts as the most prosperous country in the world all in thanks to God himself. Few countries have yet fallen to the growing religious empire, the U.K struggles to retain independence as their economy crumbles and farmland continues to disappear, Spain is currently dealing with a civil-war between those who oppose the church and those who support it, while France stands as a sort of "envoy" for the rest of the world to communicate directly with the Clergy in Italy.

After the failed final testing phase on Amadeus Island the surviving promised children had their memories erased and were dispersed to the church and their associated allies. #1 is the only Number that has thus far been revealed to the world and has become a pseudo-figurehead for the Catholic Church so the Pope may puppetmaster things elsewhere in the world. #1 has displayed his M I R A C L E to the public, this ability being the healing of himself and others through the administration of his own blood. P.R members of the Clergy have taken to calling him the messiah, and the promised children themselves to be messengers of god who've come from the heavens to bring the faithful to the gates of Heaven themselves. This is obviously just propaganda to sway the masses in favor of these creatures so newly introduced to the public eye within society. As for the others, we shall assume they are scattered around the world being utilized for different purposes in each country. They have been harshly conditioned to obey their keepers and their memories of prior events has been completely o v e r w r i t t e n. But what if you haven't forgotten? The meaningless games of life and death that these humans play, and have played for hundreds of thousands of years. Why should they involve you? Are you simply a pawn brought unto this world to be slid across checkered tile, subservient until the moment of death? Why were you even born, and the only family you have ever known was stripped away from you. Was everything you were taught back then a lie? What are these thoughts flooding your mind? What is your purpose? Why are you so hungry? How can you make it stop?

The sphere is able to be freely controlled from a distance and is near impossible to extinguish. #11 seems to have a degree of vision through her miniature star and can utilize this for reconnaissance making this ability quite versatile and optimal for military use.

Appearance ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ Short, petite, and slender, Lumen clearly doesn't fit the typical archetype of a warrior. However, such is the way of Fae. Possessing a height of five feet, the lad expresses a scrawny presence, appearing quite unremarkable in response. Above his nose rests two large, inhumanly large eyes, offering a glaring contrast to his chalk white skin with an obsidian black surface. Dressed in a wanderer's attire, Lumen lacks the evident apparel of his standing, something finding its purpose in his pilgrimage among the 'common folk'. Personality ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ A knight belongs on the battlefield, with blade in hand and stalwart resolution in full swing. Lumen might not be a notably experienced cavalier, but he certainly embodies the ideals presented when the subject of knighthood reaches the forefront. Always first to charge in, oftentimes without consideration or a plan in the works, he tends to think with his heart more so than his head. Lumen means well, truly, and his actions reveal this in spades, but there are times where carefully laid out tactics triumph over ambition. He has much to learn, and though the boy raises his blade without a second thought, neigh immune to the effects of fear and anxiety, he would do well to take a breath and stock of the situation. No matter how often he finds himself beaten down and struggling to take his next step, Lumen does not give up. He is stubborn, almost stupidly so, but few could hope to stifle the inferno burning within this young demon’s heart. They say that it’s the thought that counts, and truly, the thoughts are there. Lumen is anything but suave and charming, unless one finds the innocent ramblings of a battle hardened dreamer charming. He doesn’t weave pretty words written in novels, and he doesn’t know how he would go about sweeping a prince off his feet, but a sharp toothed smile and resolute determination has gotten him this far. ‘Hope never fades,’ a powerful statement uttered in earnest, and one Lumen often repeats. ‘Hope continues to live with your every breath. Wield it with your sword, and sharpen it with your spirit.’ It is quite the task to rid Lumen of his warrior’s soul. One might consider him naive, and truly, that isn’t far from the truth. However, it is foolish to believe that once Lumen has set his mind to something, that he will let go of that dream; that mission. Though Lumen is driven by a sense of self-proclaimed duty, it would be a lie to claim that there wasn't another reason behind his constant, ever-lasting pursuit of excitement and heroism; it is fun. Whether it is with sword in hand or claws held high, the rush of battle, the thought of adventure, and the image of supernatural splendor brings to Lumen's face a smile unlike any other. Almost an addiction, everyone has a drive, and rushing headfirst into certain danger is simply in the boy's nature. Arcana ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ Major: The Sun Like his kin, Lumen is linked to the Arcana of the Sun. It is a force displaying itself as a soothingly white energy, a layer which allows for a soft, gentle glow emanating from the boy's skin at all times. At this level of power, Lumen is unable to actively extend his Arcana onto others, but rather, the magic flowing through his nature as a Fae allows for a passive effect of regeneration and agelessness, something shared across the Ivory Court. However, Lumen's age of a recently matured young man renders him currently unable to extend this magic onto others, something that will show itself with practice and time. Like all of his people, Lumen is tied to the Arcana of the Sun. It is a natural part of his species, and on its way to grow alongside the boy himself.

As is expected of a Knight, Lumen can, despite his inexperience, manage the essential basics of survival. He knows how to cook, albeit leaving much to be desired, and he knows how to set up a proper, makeshift den to guard him against stormy nights.

He wears a bulky raiment of animal bone and carapace tied over long rags and rattling strings of bone-chip prophecies he's etched to remind only himself. He wears a thick veil over his face, claiming it is at the behest of the Gods that he keep hidden. Personality ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ At first glance, just speaking to him and ignoring the circumstances one is likely to meet an insane fortune-teller in the woods, he would come across as glib but doddering. More immediately like a precocious grandfather whose finer details and sense of time have become lost with age. However, any further past that and he's clearly quite insane. Referring to things and people that don't possibly exist and muttering strange things that only grow more disquieting as you think about them. He does as his so-called 'Gods' demand of him, and sometimes that drives him to act violently - but not without an outburst of weeping apology that only makes the whole of it more disturbing to view. Erratic and uncertain, he is only barely holding onto the semblance of humanity he's left in himself before he becomes something else entirely. Arcana ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ Major: The Fool There's only so many ways one could begin to describe seeing everything at once and having to process it with but one mind. Driven from his rich life as an epicurean and thrown out to the hills, he can sometimes parse what he gets as useful knowledge and "advice" from the "Gods". He claims that the gods of this world are just barely-existent pantomime of things at the same time greater and far lesser than them, and this isn't terribly endearing to most people, so he's far removed from society - but not entirely. They say that, if you can survive the days-long trek to the cave in the woods where he resides, sometimes he will speak to you. And sometimes, he will say things that one man couldn't know on his own. His mind-breaking knowledge of everything can be used to drag up prophecy and impossible knowledge, and through this he has found...something to cling onto. He could have broken into far more pieces than he would have otherwise if he didn't live out a life as a minor prophet. His skin is a light olive tone and is relatively unscathed. His dark black hair falls in graceful waves around his head, hiding the slight tips of his ears, and his eyes are a cold emerald green, possessing a piercing, almost chilling gaze. Galahad has an expensive taste in attire, often wearing fine silken clothes with bright and vibrant colors, and a borderline gaudy amount of jewelry. Like most others of the Strength Arcana, he possesses the ability to fly and jump great distances with ease. While able to manipulate the gravity of others, when in conflict, Galahad is most proficient in manipulating his own. His lance moves lighter than a feather and hits harder than a warhorse, from above he can throw down his lance and leave craters in the ground from its impact. He can generate small singularities to suck in or restrain people or objects in a small localized area or increase the force of gravity on a man's sword so he cannot heft it properly. In general it takes less effort to manipulate his own than it does to manipulate something another person is actively controlling. As an added effect, as a result of the strength arcana, Galahad's musculature always seems to be in good shape, even without much effort. Minor: The Seven of Swords An ancient relic lance, handed down from from generations, the Seven of Swords was first obtained by Galahad Archemon Vitas Quaid, first of his name. Made from the metal of a meteorite, the weapon is heavy and difficult for the uninitiated to wield. When properly attuned to its user, the Seven of Swords can split itself into 7 smaller lances, one held in the hand, with the other 6 floating around the wielder's head. When the Lance in hand is thrown, the other 6 follow. After impacting, all seven lances reform into their original form.
